Mapviewer servlet crash on OC4J 11g TP4

Hi!
Is it normal or not? If I try to deploy mapviewer.ear (10 or 11 pre) on OC4J 11G TP4 it make exception on
http://.../mapviewer/faces/home.jspx
Is it planing compatibility for these Oracle products? And on which release?

Mapviewer is not supported on OC4J 11g TP4.
Please note that the going forward position for Oracle Fusion Middleware R11 is that OC4J is being replaced with WebLogic Server.

  • Can Standalone OC4j 11g TP4 be runned on RedHat Linux  ?

Hi , i have a web application(ADF/ADF Faces) developed with JDev 11g TP4. Iwant to install and run it on Standalone OC4J 11g, under Linux RedHat OS.
In the OC4j release note it's written "Requires SUN JDK 5.0.11". However i want to ensure that the only thing i need is to install a specific JDK version.
    Thanks in advance ,
    Krasimir

IBM JRE wont work with OC4J. Install Sun JRE1.3. It works fine for us.

  • Jdeveloper 11g TP4: Connection refused error for Embedded Oc4j

    Hi,
I am getting following error whenever trying to deploy any application in embedded oc4j or whenever try to connect with embedded server on Resource palette.
Error while getting remote MBeanServer for url: ormi://127.0.0.1:23891/default:

I am using Jdeveloper 11g TP 4 on windows XP.
I have checked other links too related to above error and have checked following:
Proper host name entry in host file
No spaces in Jdveleoper installed directory name
Proxy setting in Jdeveloper: excluded localhost and ip address
Will be very thankful if anyone can help me to resolve this issue.

  • Deploy ADF application to standalone OC4J 11g

    Hi people!
I found some threads into the forums that deal with the subject but I did not find any solution, so I post a new thread...
In fact, I'd like to deploy a "war" on a standalone oc4j 11g.
The application was built with jdev 11g TP4.
I can't use the ADF runtime Installer of jdev, so I have to copy all the files by myself, but the problem is that I do not find the files in jdev11/BC4J/lib/ that I have to copy in oc4j/BC4J/lib...
    There is no adfcm.jar, bc4jdomorcl.jar, etc ...
Is it normal ? Could someone indicate me how to configure the standalone oc4j 11g in order to deploy my "war" ?
    Thanks a lot,
    romain.

    Hi,
    TP4 doesn't have a standalone OC4J.
Try to start embedded oc4j from jdeveloper in standalone mode.
see e.g. Re: Can Jdeveloper TP4 deploy apps to OC4J standalone TP4
BTW: The production release 11g is announced within next week and this release will contain Weblogic Server 10gR3 instead of OC4J.
    JDeveloper 11g release this month?

  • Compile PL/SQL with JDEV 11g TP4 - Compile button missing ?

    Hi
I have been working through the database development with Jdeveloper tutorial:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/db_dev/obe_%20databasedevmt.htm
this, as name suggests, discusses db development with jdev 11g TP4.
However I seem to have an issue with the section named 'Creating and Debugging PL/SQL Objects in the Database'.
In section 9 of 'creating a pl/sql package' the tutorial talks about a compile for debug button on the code editor. This essentially compiles the package against the DB, however in my Jdev, this button is does not exist. Is this just because this is only a tech preview version or is there some further config I need to do?
    Versions are..
    OS: Vista SP1
    JDEV: 11.1.1.0.0
    DB: 10.2.0.1.0
    Thanks in advance

    Deployment Failed

I overcame this problem by analyzing the embedded oc4j's server.xml and adding to the standalone's server.xml all missing libraries, of course, i had copy all nedded jars as well
after solving that, i had an OutOfMemory error, which i solved by setting the environment variable OC4J_JVM_ARGS with "-XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m"
    and so far, so good

Using the OTN2 tech preview build 4684 now available on OTN, I used the JDEVHOME/jdev/bin/start_oc4j script to startup the embedded server in standalone mode and cannot reproduce these errors.
Can you try with build 4684 from OTN and see if the same issue still reproduces?
If so, does it occur even before ever deploying any applications of your own to the instance?

  • How to expose sort attributes in a web service created on a AM 11g TP4

I'm using Jdeveloper 11g TP4 to create a web service on the application module.
When I run the web service, it is working fine. Can someone tell me how to expose the sort attributes for the user to choose?
How do I expose the sort Order for the user to select?
These are the steps I followed:
    1) Created a new application.
    2) Created a view object in the Model project.
    Created one bind variable.
Created new view Criteria and used the bind variable.
    3) Created a new jspx page.
From the Data control dragged and dropped the Named Criteria on to the page and used "ADF Query Panel with Table..."
    4) Ran the Jspx page. It works fine.
    Double Click Application Module.
    Click on tab Service Interface.
Hit New, this will open the Wizard to Create a new Service Interface.
Followed instructions and selected all the applicable methods to expose as web service.
At the end of the process, wsdl, xsd, java files are created.
I'm able to run this web service.
The field to query the data is exposed in the Web Service.
Is there a way to expose the sorting attributes to be selected by the user? i.e. I want to expose the fields to the user.
    Thanks,
    Jagadish.

Why bother with TP 4? JDev 11g is already production.

  • Confused about Mapviewer and SQL in OBIEE 11g.

I read in another post that you cant use mapviewer unless you have an oracle database.
Here is my confusion. The mapviewer product comes with OBIEE 11g, Correct?
If I use Google Maps, and load the map information into an SQL data base, why wouldnt I be able to get it to work?
I cant believe that Oracle, who makes a big deal about how OBIEE can work with "Any data source", would provide a key function
that would only work with an Oracle data base, thereby purposely excluding many of their customers from using that key function.
Someone please clear this up for me because we need to use maps and we use SQL Server 2008  for our data warehouse.

    Hi katherine,
FILTER(count(distinct("customer info dimesion"."customerID")) USING ("TradeType Dimesion"."TradeType" = '001'))I think your formula there is mistake like many braces...instead type this in your f(x)
    =>Filter(count(distinct customer_id) USING trade type='001')
This filter function is same like a case statement,if you filter still gives error write a case statement
CASE WHEN TradeType Dimesion.TradeType='001' THEN count(distinct customer info dimesion.customerID) ELSE 0 END
Will it be helpful?,follow this etiquette http://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=939
