Mars Version: Problems with Dynamic menu contribution

I create an "Eclipse 4 Application project" called test with Luna and Mars version.
In my Application I add a Dynamic Menu Item called ToTo with the following code:
Quote:
package test.handlers;
import java.util.Date;
import java.util.List;
import org.eclipse.e4.ui.di.AboutToShow;
import org.eclipse.e4.ui.di.AboutToHide;
import org.eclipse.e4.ui.model.application.ui.menu.MDirectMenuItem;
import org.eclipse.e4.ui.model.application.ui.menu.MMenuElement;
import org.eclipse.e4.ui.model.application.ui.menu.MMenuFactory;
public class Toto {
@AboutToShow
public void aboutToShow(List<MMenuElement> items) {
MDirectMenuItem dynamicItem = MMenuFactory.INSTANCE.createDirectMenuItem();
dynamicItem.setLabel("Dynamic Menu Item (" + new Date() + ")");
dynamicItem.setContributorURI("platform:/test/");
dynamicItem.setContributionURI("bundleclass://test/test.handlers.DirectMenu");
items.add(dynamicItem);
@AboutToHide
public void aboutToHide(List<MMenuElement> items) {
And the following code for the DirectMenu:
Quote:
package test.handlers;
import org.eclipse.e4.core.di.annotations.Execute;
public class DirectMenu {
@Execute
public void execute() {
System.out.println("Direct Menu Item selected");
With Luna version when I click on the menu Item I have the date and the execute part is OK
With Mars the item is here with the date, but when I click the execute is never executed?????
Can you help me!!!
Regards
Antonio

Dirk Fauth wrote on Fri, 03 July 2015 10:11It is not that easy to integrate the correction. You would need to copy the MenuManagerRenderer code to a local class and use the patched MenuManagerHideProcessor in that class. Than register the modified MenuManagerRenderer in the context so it is used instead of the default one.
So you need to get the code of MenuManagerRenderer out of the platform code, then the MenuManagerHideProcessor from Gerrit and you need to know how to replace the renderer. For the last there should be a tutorial by Lars Vogel somewhere.
Of course you should also vote for the posted ticket, to increase the visibility.
Hello Dirk,
could you please describe in more detail a way how to get this workaround working on Mars? Matt Biggs mentioned similar thing in bug report id=469581 but I don't know how to make it work.
I've created a class called MenuManagerHideProcessor with a patch from git. I don't know how to do second part (registration). I read Lars article about renderers at vogella page. (Eclipse4Renderer) and found a property "CUSTOM_RENDERER_URI". I did following in @AboutToShow method:
MDirectMenuItem directMenuItem = MMenuFactory.INSTANCE.createDirectMenuItem();
directMenuItem.getPersistedState().put("CUSTOM_RENDERER_URI", MENU_MANAGER_URI);
directMenuItem.setLabel(view.getLabel());
directMenuItem.setContributionURI(SHOW_HANDLER);
It seems that this is not the way how it should be done.
Thank You for any insights
PS: Sorry I couldn't post a direct links to bug tracker and vogella site because of "You can only use links to eclipse.org sites while you have fewer than 5 messages".

  • After Effects won't close/Problems with dynamic links

    When I quit After Effects the icon still shows up and it says that it is still open, even force quit will not work. Also having problems with dynamically linked files between after effects and Premiere pro. Rendering in Premiere doesn't work unless I go to AE, save the project, then go back to Premiere. I have OSX Mavericks 10.9.2, a late 2012 mac pro, and AE CC 12.2.1.5

    Kevin: would appreciate further thoughts on this.
    I am using Pr2014, version 8.0.0 I am using AE2014, version 13.0.2.3. When I was on earlier versions of each, I had no problem importing AE comps into Pr. I'd choose import in Pr, then select the AE project, then select the comp. But with my new and improved versions of AE and Pr, I keep getting "importer reported a generic error."
    I also tried to go the other way. I selected in Pr the clips I wanted to work on in AE, and then tried "replace with AE comp" but got the "generic error" message again..
    Finally, I attempted to create a Dynamic Link from Pr via the File menu, but with each of the options from there, I got "failed to connect to AE Dynamic Link"
    Any advice you can share, would be most welcome.

    I see that you have a very thin doctype at the top. I suggest you create a new page in Dreamweaver and copy the bit at the top of the page:

    I see that you have two opening <body> tags. Delete one; it is not needed. Add the preload images from the second into the first body tag and delete the second.
    I see code below the closing </html> tag. Re position it before the closing </body> tag.
    Because of these errors mentioned above, it was impossible to see the page. Fix and reply here when you have done so.
    Also, it is not possible for me to divine what difficulty you are having. If you can please also express it in English (LOL), I'll be happy to suggest a correction for you!

  • Problems with customising menu template backgrounds

    Hi.
    I am experiencing problems with changing the background of the included disc menu templates in PE9. I can change the background image to anything i like on the computer and all seems to work OK but when i burn the project to disc (PAL_Dolby DVD) the custom background image has gone and been replace with the default template imagine.
    Anyone got any ideas whats going on!
    Thanks

    This issue showed up with PrE 9. I do not recall reading of it with earlier versions.
    I do not know if the PSD files have some corruption, or if some change in PrE 9's code "did the deed," but many have filed a Bug Report, and I ask that you please do, as well. It should be an easy fix for Adobe (but I am not a coder, or software engineer, and could be wrong).
    Good luck to us all,

  • Internet Explorer Problem with Spry Menu Bar

    http://www.cloud9industries.com/clients/jewelryworld/index4.html
    OK here we go
    #1) In IE, the toolbar doesn't appear with the same decreased
    opacity as it does in Firefox and Safari. I'm using a png
    background image with a transparent background and I've defined the
    background color the same as the lower layer's color. Any ideas?
    #2) THE BIG ISSUE - IE doesn't display the drop down portions
    of the menu properly as they display horizontally. If the cursor
    moves into the <li> from another <li> the menu displays
    as aforementioned. If the cursor moves into the <li> from
    outside the menu bar, the menu bar behaves properly.
    This is the first page I've done with a Spry menu bar as it
    seems the former navigation bar process has been removed from
    Dreamweaver. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    cloud9industries

    Hi,
    I took a look over your page and I noticed that you are using
    a very old spry version 1.4. The current released version is Spry
    1.6 and contains some major bug fixes for Menu Bar widget.
    Please update to this last Spry version. You can download the
    new files from
    here.
    The problem with the transparent background is an IE6 problem
    which doesn't support transparent backgrounds. This problem is
    fixed on IE7 and I check it and it works there.
    Please let us know if you still have problems with MenuBar
    after updating it to the new version
    Thanks,

  • Problems with Help menu in photoshop CS2

    When I try and access the help menu and then "photoshop help" (or press the F1 Button) in photoshop cs2 I get the following error.
    "the operation could not be completed"
    I then press ok on this and the following pops up.
    "The instruction at "0x00864a4d" reverenced memory at "0X00F40B08". The memory could not be "written". Click ok to terminate the program"
    I have win xp professionals sp2 and am using cs2.
    Pc is lintel dual core with 2gb of ram.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still recieve error.
    Does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

    MTSTUNER's advice is right on in this case.  I've seen problems with the older versions of Photoshop not being able to write to their installation areas because of UAC.
    If Run As Administrator doesn't work, one additional thing you can try is to turn the UAC level down to the lowest setting, run Photoshop once, then return UAC to its default (or leave it off, your choice).

  • Please help with dynamic menu creation needs to have 5 levels

    Hi,
    I have run into a Coldfusion problem that I was hoping you
    could help me with.
    What I am trying to solve is the dynamic creation of at least
    5 levels of categories for a menu built with Coldfusion, and if
    possible an infinite amount of levels.
    Each of these also if it is at the end of the tree will have
    to have products under it aswell the category will only show up if
    there is products under it.
    To acomplish this I have created a database table called
    "Categories" which contains the fields shown in the linked
    spreadsheet. I am using the "cat_parent" to hold the value of the
    parent of the current record. When the parent is a top level menu
    item I have assigned this a cat_parent id of "0". Using this method
    I am able to do a self join on the table (where "cat_parent" =
    "cat_id") to extract the relationship between parent and child
    records throughout the table. This works fine. And I have created
    output for 5 levels of display.
    There are 3 issues left that I could not work out.
    - Firstly my coding method loops through each node of the
    tree with one query to create each category of the menu. This means
    one query per menu category and as the client could have up to 200
    categories in the menu and I am concerned that the solution that I
    have come up with is too processor intensive.
    - Secondly the way that I have created the category menu is
    hard coding in the levels needed so there is only 5 not an infinite
    amount which would be preferable but is not essential.
    - Finally I could not work out how to not create "parents" in
    the tree if there is no products for the end child category.
    Meaning that if there is for example a category > subcategory
    > subsubcategory but there is no products associated with the
    end category - "subsubsubcategory" then it's parent and so on will
    not display until one of them has products.
    Here
    is a link to a zip file that includes: the cfc that contains
    the query function (categories.cfc), the page that is creating the
    categories menu (lefnav.cfm), a simple cfc that contains a products
    query just for testing (products.cfc) along with a spreadsheet of
    the Categories table's fields.
    I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks for any time and help you can give me on this

    This should at least get you started in the right direction.

  • Problem with dynamic LOV and function

    Hello all!
    I'm having a problem with a dynamic lov in APEX 3.0.1.00.08. Hope you can help me!
    I have Report and Form application. On the Form page i have a Page Item (Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value)).
    When i submit the sql code in the 'List of vaules defention' box. I get the following message;
    1 error has occurred
    LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.
    When i excecute the code below in TOAD or in the SQL Workshop it returns the values i want to see. But somehow APEX doesn't like the sql....
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING d, REC_DNS_ID r FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    returns_dns_lov_fn is a function, code is below;
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION DRSSYS.return_dns_lov_fn (p2_dns_id number)
    RETURN dns_table_type
    AS
    v_data dns_table_type := dns_table_type ();
    BEGIN
    IF p2_dns_id = 2
    THEN
    FOR c IN (SELECT dns_id dns, omschrijving oms
    FROM d_status dst
    WHERE dst.dns_id IN (8, 10))
    LOOP
    v_data.EXTEND;
    v_data (v_data.COUNT) := dns_rectype (c.dns, c.oms);
    END LOOP;
    RETURN v_data;
    END IF;
    END;
    and the types;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DRSSYS.dns_rectype AS OBJECT (rec_dns_id NUMBER, rec_omschrijving VARCHAR2(255));
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE DRSSYS.dns_table_type AS TABLE OF dns_rectype;
    I tried some things i found on this forum, but they didn't work as well;
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value, REC_DNS_ID result_display FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    SELECT REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value d, REC_DNS_ID result_display r FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) order by 1
    SELECT a.REC_OMSCHRIJVING display_value, a.REC_DNS_ID result_display FROM
    TABLE(CAST(return_dns_lov_fn(:P2_DNS_ID) AS dns_table_type)) a order by 1

    I just had the same problem when I used a function in a where clause.
    I have a function that checks if the current user has acces or not (returning varchar 'Y' or 'N').
    In where clause I have this:
    where myFunction(:user, somePK) = 'Y'
    It seems that when APEX checked if my query was valid, my function triggered and exception.
    As Varad pointed out, check for exception that could be triggered by a null 'p2_dns_id'
    Hope that helped you out.

  • Problem with CC Menu Bar app (Mountain Lion)

    Howdy!
    So, i have this little problem with the CC menu bar app. I have it set to start when i login and everytime i (re)start my computer, the CC app window starts in the middle of the screen. I have to click in the menu bar icon for it to go to it's rightful place.
    It's not a big of a problem (not really a problem even), but i wonder if there is any way for it to start hidden and in it's place.

    Ok, i disabled that option, restarted, then Pinned it to the menu bar, changed the option back on and restarted again.
    Still shows up in the middle of the screen as soon as i login.

  • Problems with main menu

    I`ve managed to open a JFrame in fullscreen mode but I have problems with centering buttons. I want to have a menu that consists of a number of buttons and I want them to be centered (both vertically and horizontally). I have the buttons in a JPanel but how can I center it now?
    EDIT:
    public class MainMenu extends JPanel{
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JButton newGame, quit;
         private JPanel buttons;
         public MainMenu(){
              newGame = new JButton("New Game");
              quit = new JButton("Quit");
              newGame.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              quit.setAlignmentX(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons = new JPanel();
              buttons.setLayout( new BoxLayout(buttons, BoxLayout.Y_AXIS));
              buttons.setAlignmentY(Component.CENTER_ALIGNMENT);
              buttons.add(newGame);
              buttons.add(quit);
              add(buttons);
    In a JFrame class I call this like that:
    this.setContentPane( new MainMenu() );

    Firstly make sure that your JPanel is the same size as your screen, use a setsize method. Secondly, go to www.javaalmanac.com and search for gridbaglayout. A gridbaglayout is a way to organize components horizontally and vertically.

  • How to create a table less structure with dynamic menu module

    Hi guys,
    I am using dynamic menu module for creating a main menu for http://firstsite08.businesscatalyst.com/
    but it is generating table structure. What changes to do i had to make to generate a table less structure from dynamic menu module.

    Hi Andy,
    When you create a Menu, the option dropdown for the menu has Default, but under that you will see HTML CSS Only option which creates a ul li structure.
    For the Menu Module options you can find more information from the knowledgebase: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html?bc-partner#main_Menu_Modules
    If you would like to use the version 2 menu module you can find a bit of a guide I wrote here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1903

  • Oracle 9i, Rel.2 - Problems with dynam statement and cursor

    Hello,
    I have the following problem with Oracle 9i, Release 2:
    I have a SQL-statement, which I create with the help of a configuration table. That means I don’t know how this statement looks at runtime. It could be look like this:
    SELECT Att1, Att2, Att3
    FROM Tab1
    or this…
    SELECT Att1, Att2
    FROM Tab1
    or this…
    SELECT Att1
    FROM Tab1
    etc.
    That means I don’t know in advance how many columns will be in the select-clause.
    Here my code snippet until here:
    v_query_str := 'SELECT ' || v_select_clause_str
    || ' FROM cb.' || v_table;
    ,,v_select_clause_str" willl be created dynamically
    ,,v_table" is as well from the config-table
    Now I want to iterate through the result of the query and do further processing.
    For this reason I wanted to use a cursor, iterate through the rows and save every value of each row in an own variable (but I don’t know the number of columns!!!).
    But how can I open a cursor and iterate through it without knowing the number of columns???
    The following code is NOT working:
    TYPE t_dataColumnComp IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(200);
    a_dataColumnComp t_dataColumnComp;
    --here I create the query…
    v_query_str := 'SELECT ' || v_select_clause_str
    || ' FROM cb.' || v_table;
    OPEN c_tempAtt FOR v_query_str;
    LOOP
    FETCH c_tempAtt INTO a_dataColumnComp; --THIS DON’T WORK
    EXIT WHEN c_tempAtt%NOTFOUND;
    FOR i IN 1..a_dataColumnComp.COUNT
    LOOP
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(a_dataColumnComp(i));
    END LOOP;
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE c_tempAtt; --close cursor variable
    Regards
    Homer

    You will need to use DBMS_SQL to handle this since the number of columns in the result set is not known until runtime.
    See here for an example of using DBMS_SQL:

  • DB2 problems with Dynamic SQL

    Does anyone out there use dynamic SQL with DB2? If so, are the sql statements causing a PreparedStatement to be executed on DB2. I posted this question similarly before, but never resolved it, and it is killing me. I have to resolve this ASAP!
    Here is the problem: My DB2 Admin says that EVERY TIME I access the database, my Java app is causing the database to create a PreparedStatement. However, I'm using Statement objects exclusively, with dynamic SQL. He says that DB2 needs an "access path" for the client, and that it converts the Statement to a PreparedStatement, as this is the only way to get this "access path". He says the only solution is either stored procedures or SQLJ, which will do the binding in advance, and increase performance tremendously. However, I am STRONGLY opposed to using SQLJ, and if we do stored procedures, we'd have to write one for every possible SQL statment! I KNOW there is a better solution.
    Is anyone out there having these problems with JDBC and DB2? Surely someone out there uses DB2 and JDBC and either has these problems or can confirm that something is incorrectly configured on the database side.
    Any help would be great. Thanks, Will

    Now I'm wondering if maybe the PreparedStatements are ONLY being called on the database when I call getConnection(), and not when I call executeQuery() or executeUpdate() from the Statement object. I just can't see why the database would have to make an access path for every SQL statement executed, but I could see it creating an access path for every connection requested. Any thoughts on that theory?
