Master data taking Long time in Query Execution
hello Experts
I have an issue while executing a query.
The input parameter for the query is the 0customer variable in which when I try to select the value from the tab Select From the List & goes for single value option or any other option then goes for long time loading the values & then come out with a short dump.
I want to know why this is happening.
Please help me out from this.

I have checked the info Object - 0Customer.
The following settings are there in Bex Explorer tab ::
Query Def. Filter Value Selection - Values in Master Data Table
Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn - Only Posted Values for navigation
Also the Value for display in the object are only 1000. This takes time only in analyzer not in designer.
What I have to do, plz suggest

The issue is its taking long time for query execution and if we are keep on pressing 'ENTER' button . The query is running very fastly and is giving the results ,but its not a correct way to do.

Master data delete -- long time ?
Hello BW Experts,
I am deleting the master data without SIDS. It has around 2M records (delete all data ). I thought it is going to drop the Ptable. But it is taking hrs and hrs to delete the Ptable.
-- 1) Wondering if this is normal.
-- 2) What process does it follow to delete the master data with SIDS..

The more attributes, especially time-dependent and/or navigation, the more tables should be accessed simultaneously during deletion:
P - time-independent
Q - time-dependent
X - navigation time-independent
Y - navigation time-dependent

I understand, but I am sure the data colelction is done on the Satellite system with the EWA SDCCN TAsk and is populated
via the SM_<SID>CLNT<nnn>_BACK RFC. So have you checked this task log for any errors or time outs? Every EWA states how long the data collection task took. But you have to look at the data colelction task to get more information.

Your query is simple but quite bad in terms of performance.
Change it to something like:

Oracle-DBAI have some suggestions. But first, you realize that you have some redundant indexes, right? You have an index on account(account_name) and also account(account_name, account_id), and also account_history(invoice_id) and account_history(invoice_id, adjustment_id). No matter, I will suggest some new composite indexes.
Also, you do not need two lines for these conditions:

Time-dependent master data in the cube and query
Hello,
I have a time-dep. masterdata infoobject with two time-dep attributes (one of them is KF). If i add this infoobject into the cube, what time period SID will be considered during the load? I assume it only matters during load, if i add the KF to the query it gets its value based on the SID in the cube.. right?

vamsi.If its Time Dependent Master Data object when you run your Master Data if that time any changes to the Master Data that value will be overwrite to the old value you will get the new value. When you run the Query execution the Infocube Master Data infoobject will having the SID that time it will to there it will be displayed at that moved what is the value you have in the Master Data table.

shibuThis will always be slow for large data volumes, since CDHDR is designed for quick access by object ID (in this case material number), not by date.
I'm afraid you would need to introduce a secondary index on OBJECTCLAS and UDATE, if that query is crucial enough to warrant the additional disk space and processing time taken by the new index.

When you say its taking too long to open the report, have you a variable screen coming up for the report and is that what is taking the time or is it the report execution.

Impdp taking long time for only few MBs data...
Hi All,
I have one query related to impdp. I have one expdp file and size is 47M. When I restore this dmp using impdp it will take more time. Also initially table_data loaded finsih very fast but then later on alter function/procedure/view taking a lot time almost 4 to 5 hrs.
I have no idea why its taking long time... Earlier I can see one DB link is failed and it given error for "TNS name could not resolved" so I create DB link also before run impdp but the same result. Can any one suggest what could be the cause to taking long time for only 47MB data?
Note - Both expdp and impdp database version is 11.2.0.3.0. If I import the same dmp file into 11.2.0.1.0 then its done in few mins.

To improve the performance of this query I have created the following indexes.

Master Dataload is taking long time to complete

In last couple of weeks, we are experience the delay for master dataload job. These dataload should take 5-8 minute to complete but it is taking more then 5 hour to complete. here we are using process chain for master dataload.
Any idea? We don't understand where to start to check the root cause of this problem.

Some update of our master dataload. Still not resolved.
Seem to me, our problem is related to Hierarchy in BW server.It is taking long time to update the hierarchy in BW server. As i told you, problem occur only when loading master dataload. For transaction dataload, no IDOC get stuck in R/3 (NPR) server. There are enough resources in both R/3 and BW server for trfc.
There are total 9 hierarchy in the master dataload that is delaying in the process for update. If you have seen this type of problem for the following hierarchy, pls update me.

As I am a developer I do not have the access to Sql profiler or tuning agent to optimize my query, I have used some joins over the temp table #HIHO which indeed pulling the records from table EDW_Source which has 5 million records, I also added Non clustered
indexes on prov_ID, SMG_ID and Incurred month for this table, but still it is taking longer time. Need helpHi, It needs some more tweaks but pls try this one

Process Chain taking long time in loading data in infocube
Dear Expert,
We are loading data thru PC in AR cube it takes data frm
PSA-> DSO->Activation->Index Deletion->DTP(load infocube)->IndexCreation->Create Aggregates.
In Index creation everyday its taking long time around 9 to 10 hrs to create it
when we go in RSRV and repair the infocube thr loading of data happens fast. We are doing it(RSRV) everyday. In DB02 we have seen dat 96% tablespace is used.
Please tell permanent solution.
Please suggest its BI Issue or Basis.

In the above steps insted of Create Aggregates it should be Roll up Process of aggregates.
You can ask the basis team to check the Table space in the transaction db02old/db02.
Check if there is long running job in SM66/SM50 kill that job.
check there should be enough Batch process to perform the steps.
