Master Detail - Master Report Rows doesn't match master detail scroll

Hello,
Another rookie question. I created a master detail form and report. I am controlling the report with a where clause to only view the rows where the current application user is the record owner. For example, my app user login is the email address of the user. Then I filter the rows to only display the rows associated to the users email address. So, if the table contains 100 rows, only the 10 rows that the user is associated with, displays in the report.
When I drill into a record, i am presented with the correct master detail form with the correct data, however, when I click the Next and Previous buttons, I can see the entire record set. For example, if I only saw 10 rows on the report, I can scroll through all hundred records once i drill in from the report.
How do I limit the data to match the visibility that i set at the report.
Thanks!

  • Datawarehouse query detail report result doesn't match summary report.

    Hello,
    In our DW, we run a detail report query ( like below No. 1) , while in the summary report, in which the query is partially based on aggregated table T_AGG_UNC_GROSS (like below No.2), the query result doesn' match the query result of the details report. (supposed to match exactly)
    To pick out the problem why summary report (like below NO.3) doesn't match details report. I put two filters in the details query with the filter is "year 2007", filter location is "California")
    I can get 295 selected.
    while I put above two filters in summary report, get no row selected.
    I suspect aggregation table has some problem (wrong aggregated).
    Is there any method I can pick out the problem behind?
    thanks a lot in advance.

  • Master/details with render false on details when no rows doesn't work fine

    I created a standard master/details (form/form) based on Dept and Emp tables.
    This work as expected.
    Then i changed the rendered property of the details table by setting the following EL #{bindings.DeptView1EmpView2.estimatedRowCount>0}
    because i do not want details table to appear when there are no rows
    Here is how things go
    1) navigate to deptno 10, you see the employees of dept 10 correctly, the same applies to 20, and 30, but when you select dept 40, things start acting kind of wierd
    the details table does not disappear as expected
    returning back to dept 10, or 20 etc does not also render the details it freezes, keep navigating between 10,20,30 and randomly, the screen refershes correctly, until you again hit an master with empty details.
    If you select a master with empty details and use the submit buttom, the details table disappears as it should, if you try other master rows, the details remain hidden until you submit the page manually
    any ideas
    regards
    Ammar Sajdi

    hello again
    i removed PPT and the autosubmit that are created by default, and replaced them with JavaScript Submit() operation linked to the master table row selector. Now it works, but really i still do not know the negative implications of this work around. I feel it is not a good idea, since ADF designer favoured using the PPR method

  • How to loop through classic report rows?

    Hi,
    I have a page that has a classic report region. Can I somehow loop through the rows in the report result?
    If I put a checkbox item in the query then using this works fine, but I would not like to add checkbox I just would like to loop through the records.
    FOR I in 1..APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02.COUNT LOOP
    Do something with record having  checkbox item value APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02(i);
    END LOOP;
    TIA,
    Tamas

    Andy,
    What I would like to do is to let the user click a report row, then navigate to a detail form page and display detailed information of the given report row. And should the suer decide to have a look at all the records, then let him/her click a next button on the detail form and display the next row in the report result on the detail form.
    Thanks for the tip. if there is no other way, I will probably do this way.

  • Limit on number of columns details of a master detail form/report

    Hi,
    I understand that there is a limit to the number of columns you can have in a master detail form/report. I am on Apex 4.01 and have a detail section that shows 24 months at a time as columns with integer hours assigned each month. My master detail was working fine with as many as 24 months/columns in this detail section, but I tried to re-use months by 'recycling' months, clearing them out of values and adding the months to the end of each row but now I am getting errors even though I had more columns showing before my 'recycliing' of the columns. The error is:
    "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small "
    What I don't understand is -- why am I getting this error now when I actually had more columns in the detail section months ago, and all I am doing is 'recycling' prior columns back into the detail report, not actually adding columns.
    Thanks for any insights anyone can give.
    Pat

    DBA tells me that we are at 9.0.2.2.14, (higher version than the one you suggested) but I still get the same error.
    Thanks,

  • Search on Master Detail form/report

    Hi,
    I noticed that when I created a new application in Apex 4.01 basing the intial page on a Master Detail form/report, I was able to add a search item to the initial page. When I go to add another page with a different Master detail form/report, I did not have any option for adding a search item to the report page. Seems like an oversight?
    I would appreciate any hints as to how to add same search item to my 2nd Master/Detail form/report.
    Thanks,
    Pat

  • Example of how to create a master-multiple detail PDF report using BI Pub

    Hi,
    Are there any examples out there on how to do this? Basically for each master record from table A,
    need multiple related detail records from table B AND multiple related detail records from table C.
    Ie. A is master to B and A is master to C.
    For master-single detail reports, writing a single query that joins master to detail works fine,
    but for master-multiple detail reports, I don't see how this approach will work.
    Thanks,

  • Filter master rows based on attributes in detail view.

    Hi,
    How do I set up VO's so that I can:
    1. filter master records based on attribute values in either the detail or master attribute values.
    and
    2. display each distinct master record with all its associated detail records.
    Stated another way, I want to list all the master records (with their associated detail records) filtered by the existence of qualifying detail records -- give me all departments which have assigned one or more employees who meet some criteria; list the departments and ALL the dept.'s employees (regardless of whether they individually meet the criteria).
    We've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to accomplish this on 10.1.2, 9.0.5.2 and 9.0.3.3 with pretty much the same results on all three versions.
    To make queries based on values in either the master or detail records we created a database view that denormalizes the tables. This let's us include criteria based on either the master or detail tables, but of course rows from the master table may appear multiple times. We tried a DBMS global temporary table, but the inserted rows were not visible to the client; I'm assuming they're discarded with the session between queries or the queries establish separate sessions. I tried marking only the master record columns as selected and queriable and the detail columns as just queriable, but this causes the detail columns to be defined as transient VO attributes.
    TIA, for ideas or guidance.

  • Master / Details validation insert row details before master

    Hi,
    I have the following scenario:
    I have a form with a master details input.
    When I click on 'New' to add a record in the details, the validation of the input in the master alerts me that I should fill the inputText.
    If I fill the Master then the details, it will works.
    But, if I fill the details before the master, I got the validation to fill the records.
    What I want:
    - to be able to fill the details without firing the validation of the master inputText since the button I clicked was for adding a new record and NOT to commit the master details ...
    I tried to copy some code ..
    maybe it will help.
    I tried partialSubmit, partialTriggers ...
    All attributes don't work. Maybe I did an error in my design page or my organazation of forms.

  • Multi-row editable Detail Component on the same Page as Master (WSG)

    Hello. There was a trick to place editable (with Update button and Delete? checkboxes) Detail Component on the same Page as Master. Something about a Creation of Detail Component in Property Palette Mode (against of Dialog). Can anyone point me please to those hint?
    great thanks,

    Look at the page branches. There will be one or more which goes to the first page. Change it to go to the current page instead of the first page.

  • Grand total values are not matching with Detail report

    Report has grand totals and when I drill to the detail report, grand total values are NOT matching with parent report totals, I did some analysis but I'm clueless on this issue.
    Please provide your thoughts and insight on this issue..
    Thanks

    is your summary and detail reports hitting different facts, like summary hitting aggregate and detail report hitting it's corresponding detail level fact..?
    if then,
    From Front-end:
    Fix the filter values in detail report that are passing from master report then try delete each columns then check the grand total. If you found your values is matching by deleting particular column then you need to investigate what is the issue around with that dimension table..
    From Database side:
    1. check first aggregate table has proper aggregate data of it's detail..
    2. Take the detail report obiee generated query and try to comment each dimension table and it's corresponding joins to the facts, (before, this delete all the dimensional columns and other measures from select statement and put only that measure where you are getting wrong value, so that you need not to comment all the select and group by columns which saves your time.. ). Need to check by commenting each dimensional wid and it's table from clause, if you found that values is matching then there is some problem with wid columns data population in your ETL.

  • Creating Master to show only rows for which valid entries exist in Detai

    I have created a Master-Detail Form in my Apex application based off of views to tables in a private remote Database.
    In the Master-Detail Creation Wizard, at the "Link Master and Detail" page, I specified that the defined Primary Key in the Master Column should be equal to the corresponding Foreign Key in the Detail Column.

    My goal is to have my Master Form only display rows for which a valid corresponding entry exists in the Detail Form. Yet, the above setup returns all of the rows from the Master Table, even where the corresponding Detail entry is blank.
    Can you provide some light on what I'm doing wrong, and how I can accomplish what I want to do?
    Thank you!

  • How to pass multiple values from master to child report

    Hello,
    How would I pass multiple prompts from the master to child report? So for example, say I want to pass a 'Country' value along with a 'City' value
    Would it be?
    ="<a href=\"../../opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=ASQlgCemIOlEid1HHUlzyPs&sDocName=DocTest&sIDType=CUID&sType=wid&sWindow=Same&lsSCountry="+[Country]+"&lsSCity="+[City]+"\</a>"
    Thanks,
    Carter

    Carter,
    what is the syntax for this?
    It is exactly how you have posted in your original note.
    "&lsSCountry="+[Country]+"&lsSCity="[City]
    This will work providing the target report has a prompt called "Country" and another prompt called "City".  Note that your prompt and what you pass between the &lsS and the equal (=) must match exactly, otherwise OpenDocument will not communicate the prompt title to InfoView properly and InfoView will stop and execute the prompt to get the info it needs before running the report.  Have you tried what you've posted originally to see if it executes without a problem?
    Thanks,
    John

  • Report Row With Detail (AJAX) by Carl - How to implement?

    I just had a look at Carl's example place and I'd like to implement his Report Row With Detail feature. But how, it's made up of 3 sections:
    1. a query
    2. javascript
    3. application process
    The query on which the report is based and where I want this feature is:
    select leverancier, artnr, vendorcode from plijst where productgroep = :p1_assortiment_tree or subgroep = :p1_assortiment_tree
    A break is defined on Leverancier
    I understand the query and the application process part. But where goes the Java part???

    Tried to upload your example application, unfortunately it does not seem to upload properly in my APEX v2.0 environment
    Can you please confirm if your example works with APEX version 2
    and does the Javascript go in the Page Header or Region Header/ Footer area
    thankyou

  • Report Row With Detail (IFRAME)

    Hi,
    I am trying to implement the Report Row with Detail but not successful.
    I have gone thru the various threads in the forum.. but i am unable to
    get it. It would be great if I could know the step by step process to do the same.
    I have created two regions. The first region (the query to it) also
    has a show_region link.. I have copied and pasted the javascript given
    by Carl.
    Thanks,
    shilpa.

    Hello,
    Ok then you are almost there so when you submit the form to update your data on a sucessful save you are going to create a plsql region that just uses htp.p() to write out the javascript to update the report in the main page.
    a simple example would be something like this.
    Lets say I'm getting back values to update the two first table cells on my parent report.
    <script>
    /*set up call back function*/
    function ReportRowUpdate(){
    var lRow = parent.g_LastRowOpened; /* hook to last row clicked */
    lRow.cells[0].innerHTML = 'SOME VALUE FROM DATABASE 1';
    lRow.cells[1].innerHTML = 'SOME VALUE FROM DATABASE 2';
    /*call call back function*/
    ReportRowUpdate();
    </script>
    And that should be it.
