I have recently been having a problem with my disply on my laptop and linked screen, which also happens when the laptop on working on it's own.
Basically, spots of colour appear across the screen (much like in a scene from the Matrix) and can sometimes be cleared when I drag a box over the desktop over the dots.
But sometimes it gets so extreme that I can't see any content on either screen, and it has even crashed my machine.
Any idea why this may be and how I can stop it happening?

The iMacs @ my office had a similar problem. It turned out, I think, to be a faulty video card. In the case of the iMacs, Apple recalled them & replaced them.

As I've just recommended to the human bunny, run the Apple Hardware Test CD, that came with your computer.

I'll guess you have a bad logic board and you better hope, you're still within the one year warranty or Apple care.
If so, call Apple or go to an Apple dealer to get your logic board replaced.

Problem in matrix style report

i have generate a matrix style report which has 5 X 4 = 20 cells . now in the report all cell values should not be filled according to the data in the tables but every cell in the report is filled . and more is that the filled values in the cell which are supposed to be blank is repeated from other cells . what is this problem and how to correct it ? i have an idea that this might be some varibale issue but cant figure it out .plz somebody help me out from this

This problem of REP-1813 because,the data fetched into a matrix cell exceeds the capacity of the cell--
e.g., the cell may contain a variable field, and the data may be longer than expected.
Therefore, to solve this issue u may want to either enlarge your matrix cells until they are able to contain the data fetched into them, or redefine your data.

Need Matrix Style Report...

I need to create a matrix style report. There is a template for matrix reports in Oracle Report Writer, but not in APEX. My report should have a list of countries going down and a list of species going across with data showing how many for each country, each species.
Example of report:
Species Pollack Whiting Tuna
Country
China 5 6 10
Chile 1 2 1
Japan 4 4 8
How do I build this?

Is this in Oracle 11g?? If so, you could use the pivot function in your sql to build the output data..

Matrix Style title effects

Does anyone know how to get a matrix style title effect and whether it can be done in Livetype or Motion, or is there a good plug-in for it?

There's no accounting for taste. The first Matrix was great. The other two...just showing off...story severely lacking.
But I have to agree with Randy...BATTLEFIELD EARTH was truly a pile. As was BATMAN & ROBIN with The Gubernator Arnold.
But are we going to turn this into a thread of what was the worse movie ever made? Hmmmm....

Matrix Style Reports

Hi,
I'd be interested in ideas for producing a matrix-style report (similar to that possible with Oracle Discoverer or Pivot Tables in spreadsheets). Example below. I've tried dynamic SQL (report based on function returning a SQL query) but this quickly gets very complex.
Are API's available (similar to the form item api's) for laying out HTMLDB sytle report headings and rows directly ?
Matrix Example
Imagine you have sales data by product and date e.g.
Product Date Sales
A 2003 100
A 2004 75
B 2003 50
I would like to display a matrix report similar to
Sales 2003 2004 ...
A 100 75
B 50 ...
...

htmldb currently installs with a package called wwv_flow_rewrite_query. it's not technically supported, but it's really solid code ...and i think it does pretty much what you're hoping to do (pivot sql query). if you look in your $OHS_HOME/marvel directory you should see a file there called wwv_flow_rewrite_query.sql. fortunately that package isn't wrapped. better yet, it's loaded down with documentation. i'd take a look there to see about your report. if you have questions on the concepts (not the package), the author can be found discussing the topic at...

Mattext - a simple console matrix-style text pager

I wrote a simple text pager, it shows text in console. But it does it in matrix-style, columns of random symbols trickles down the screen, leaving text after them.

At this moment it can:
- read text from [multiple] files or stdin;
- run in interactive mode (default)
- run in non-interactive mode, autoscroll through text;
- show only one page of text, then quit;
- run infinitely, reading files over and over again, until 'q' is pressed;
- colorize output;
- centrate text vertically and horizontally (each string separately or using longest string, this is useful for ascii art)
- show Japanese half-width kana along with English letters and digits;
- block until specified number of lines is read (it responds to commands while it is blocked), is stdin is used;
- quit (press 'q' or 'Q' or ctrl + D);
- show next text page(press any other key);

I have to install this on my work PC and start it running when people come to me with a problem. They'll think I'm doing something incredible complex and amazing, when all I'm actually doing is sshing into their machine and looking at their logs/clearing out their stockpile of ancient kernels.

Survey Builder 2 dimensional matrix-style survey?

Apex Survey Builder is convenient to make surveys for mobile devices like this:
1. How was your food?

But, I want to make one that fits on a laptop's display like this:

How can I make Survey Builder make horizontal selections like this? Or is another Apex app more appropriate?
I'm not asking it to auto-detect whether the participant is on a mobile or laptop; I'm assuming they're on a laptop for this survey.

Thanks. Got it. So Apex Survey Builder is good for mobile devices, where a single-column survey is appropriate. Can Apex detect whether the user is coming from a device with a narrow screen (iPhone but not iPad)? If so it would be great if the Matrix-style question layout would be horizontal on the wide screen (say 400px or 4in) but vertical on the narrow screen. But, please do not auto-size as Vovici does; this "feature" killed them for us because iOS then placed the keyboard on top of the Next button. Vovici's answer was: Use our app, not the browser! So you want us to require our customers to install your app? Not Okay. Anyway, if you can keep the survey looking good and reliable on iOS 6.1 and above on Safari, our group will be happy with it.

Matrix Project (No Issue)

Hey people. I'm doing a Matrix Spoof for my Chinese class and was wondering if anybody had any pointers on doing some of the classic Matrix style editing techniques. I'm basically just messing around but any ideas, templates etc. would be greatly appeciated. I have iMovie HD 6 and also Final Cut Express.
Specific things I would like to do include a slight overall greenish tint, Matrix text fade in/out and SUBTITLES for the chinese. I havent looked into it at all but subtitles are a necessity.
Thanks, anybody who likes to spead their knowledge of movie editing, I'd love to learn.

I'm doing my tiny, weeny homemovies for many years, I'm a visual-effect afficionado since I saw my first Ray Harryhausen movie...
and I'm working on my StarWars fan project for about 6 months.. - I'm doing the best I can, but it still looks like .. a homemovie.. sure, I'm no professional film maker.
doing a Matrix-styled movie is not only a matter of hard- and software, but it is YOUR skills and knowledge to accomplish that....

... "that easy" was the bullet-time-effect done ... what they don't show: you need to "blend" the 150 stills with some very elaborated software.. getting rid of the wires is an easy part compared to that...
if you REALLY want to try, I would suggest FCE.. tinting is easy, just read the manual.. same with subtitles, that is much easier done with FCE's multi-tracks... the dropping letters (did you mean that with "Matrix text fade"?) would normally need some more elaborated tools as Motion, After Effects, Maya, etc.. but for a "spoof", I would simply use 3 - 5 layers of pre-produced grafix you animate with FCE ....
for fighting scenes, you should use two/three/many cameras simultanously => to sync that in iM is a painstaking process, much, much easier with FCE...
and, e.g.: when Trinity fights the cop in the opening scene of Matrix I, the whole set (that empty, dark room, with the pendulum lamp) was completely CGI + excessive usage of motion-controlled cameras for recording "the humans"... doing the compositing of 3g grafix plus the green box recordings is an art form!
so, if your editing skills are actually "advanced/pro", forget iM, go straight to the Final Cut section of this forum, or more specialized websites (sorry, no link from me, I just know a German spoken one.. )

While I am accessing system form matrix -Inventory Goods Issue/ Goods Receipt, the matrix object is not accessible.
Error is coming stating "Item 13 is invalid, where 13 is item uid for matrix.
So,How do load system form matrix -Inventory-Goods Issue(FORM 720/-720) through SDK UI &DIAPI.
Form Type: -720
How to get reference of System form matrix object -Inventory-GoodsIssue.
Some thing similar to CopyFrom functionality for -Inventory-Goods Issue.
Currently my client requirement is as follows.
I created a UDF ((U_ILC) Incoming Log Challan) for marketing documents. And, this field is added in the header level of Goods Reciept, Goods Issue documents.
1. Through Inventory->Goods Receipt (ILCNo.10), items are received. Assume, M00001, M00002 are the items received with qty, price, whse, account values.
2. Through Inventory->Goods Issue, item should be issued. In this Goods Issue Form, after entering U_ILC value as 10, pressing Tab, the GoodsIssue matrix should be loaded with the values of GoodsReceipt(IGN1 for U_ILC:10) document i.e. M00001,M00002 along with the same values as in GoodsReceipt of ILC:10.
The code is as follows:

instead of

Object Style Manager issue in Captivate 6

Hi there,
I'm using a trial of Captivate 6 and am setting some styles using the Object Style Manager.
When I alter some preferences for the Rollover Caption (e.g. font size, alignment, caption background), the changes take effect on the Text Caption as well. I'd like the Text and Rollover captions to have different styles, is it possible to set this up inthe Style Manager?

Hi,
This is happening as the Text caption, Rollover caption uses the same style as its default style. You can try creating a seperate style for the Rollover caption.
To do this,
1. Open Object Style manager.
2. Select 'RolloVer Caption' from Standard Objects>Rollover Caption, Click on the 'Clone' button
It Creates a new style with the name '[Default Caption Style]1
3. Click on the 'Set As Default' button.
This newly added style is set a s the Default for Rollover caption. Now wheneven you insert a Rollover caption, It gets inserted with the new Style and the Text caption gets inserted with the old style.
Hope this resolves the Issue.

Style sheet issue

I used Independent HTML output functions... it didnot work properly.. that means it worked separately without combined the style sheets.. and I used the Style sheets coding directly in the HTML tag, it worked correctly... I could not know why it was happened....
that means a reference link did not work, the coding where in the reference link's path is worked well...
now I need how to broadcast the webtemplate by Email using the reference link

Since you are planning to send it via email, I would suggest that you use the full URL. Please note that the one you have used is a Relative URL path.

Full URL path will look something like
<link href="http://mySAPServer.com/sap/bw/Mime/BEx/StyleSheets/Chrome_BWReports_ie6.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
where mySAPServer.com is your SAP Web Server address.
Also the path might be case sensitive. So take care of that.
Using the full URL path will solve your problem.
Only issue is that, if you are using full URL, you have to update the server address in your templates in Dev/Qual/Prod to reflect the correct web server address

Matrix-style lines on DVD display

Is anyone acquainted with this? Vertical lines in the style of The Matrix appear when a DVD is played but only on the image. For example, the lines do not appear in the border if the image is set to wide screen or if the video is watched in a window on the desktop. It is almost like a transparency or sheet of plastic is placed over the image. The dvd plays just fine except for the lines. The repair team at the store where it was purchased had not seen this before. The machine is a Powerbook G4 from 2002 with the OSX 10.2.8 operating system. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm experiencing the same problems. I also have the Powerbook G4 from 2002, the only difference is that im running 10.4.2.
Also, i've noticed when i rotate the Powerbook itself, up or down, or sideways, the lines will go away and then when i put it in another position they'll come back. Try that and let me know if it happens with you as well.

Style sheete issue

I'm having a small issue with div tags in on my jsp. Has anyone seen this or can anyone tell me what is wrong.
I just have two div tags in my style sheet as follows.

}then I nest those on my jsp to create a scrolling area for my data. In IE this works just fine. But in firefox the bottom scrollbar is always on. Even if the content of the inner div tag is only an empty table.

I've change the size of the inner div tag to 99% instead of 100% . This does fix the problem.. but I don't like the fact that FF handles it the way it does.

RH8: Style Sheets Issue

I inherited an RH8 project from another writer and now I'm trying to make some sense out of it.
My latest issue:
When I expand the Style Sheets folder in the Project Manager pod, there are 2 CSS files plus about 15 subfolders. The folders seem to have the names of some of the books in the TOC, but delimited with underscores. Also, there are obviously many more books in the TOC than subfolders in the Style Sheets folder.
When I right-click one of the subfolders and select Explore, they all contain image files and one FPJ file. Each FPJ contains only:

Further, the image filenames are sequential (such as image002.gif, image003.gif, and so on) and they repeat in the different subfolders. But image002 in one subfolder is a different image than image002 in another subfolder.

They are "real" folders because I can acess them in Windows Explorer.
If I right-click on the folders in the Project Manager, one of the following occurs:
The Delete option is disabled.
The Delete option is enabled. But when I select it, I get a confirmation message that the folder and all contents will be deleted. I can click OK and it's deleted.
The Delete option is enabled. But when I select it, the folder is deleted without the confirmation message.
If these are "man-made" folders, can I safely delete them?
