Maximum concurrent vod and live connections

How to check maximum concurrent vod and live connections for a server could afford?
What factors will be depended?   For internal use, the NIC should be 1G port.
How I will know that the maximum capacity for the server had been reached?

I have already read the white paper from http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/ams/pdfs/ams5-intro-wp.pdf.
When to choose HDS are:
Examples of use cases for HTTP Dynamic Streaming include the following:
• Adaptive streaming behind restrictive firewalls
• Massive-scale live broadcasting
• Enhanced seeking over standard HTTP connections
• Enterprise streaming on existing network infrastructure
On other hand, as in-house deployment without firewall and also could allow port 1936 inside internal network.   So above benefits seem not significant.
So other than above reasons, how RTMP and HTTP will be differed in performance and others?

  • Best SQL Challenege: TSQL Query Maximum Concurrent Connections (Participants)

    Hi All,
I have a table called dbo.PhoneCalls with below columns
    PhoneID |PhoneNumber| Callstarttime| CallEndtime|
    1 |111-111-1111|2013-04-01 05:13:03.000|2013-04-01 05:13:03.000
    1 |222-222-2222|2013-04-01 05:15:12.000|2013-04-01 05:16:52.000
    2 |333-333-3333|2013-04-01 05:17:29.000|2013-04-01 05:24:08.000

    1. PhoneID is nothing but the participant in the call. PhoneID = 1 is twice from above. Which means 2 particpants (Same call
)with 2 numbers with their callstarttime and callendtime. Similarly for PhoneID =2, there are 4 participants. And the list goes on for a day and then for a month.
    2. For example a phone call P1 with 2 participants is going on for a particular day. We should not consider the same phone
call having 2 participants involved. So that the concurrency would be 2. We have to ignore that here.
    3. Only to be considered is other Phone calls for that day. Lets say P1 having call with 2 participants, P2 having some 4 participants
which fall in the time period of P1. Then we should consider P1 and P2 the common period
    4. In order to find number of concurrent calls happened for a day basing on callstarttime and callendtime. What would be the
    query?
    5. Should consider the Timeperiod or the bucket with 1 hour as the period.
    6. A Phone Call P1, Phone Call P2, should have matching (common) time ( keeping all the scenarios) is required for this query.
Result for Concurrent calls for a day should be like below. Should get all the concurrent connections happened for a particular
    day.
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|Concurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-01-2015|11 to 12|2
    Jan-02-2015|04 to 05|5
    Jan-02-2015|12 to 13|13
ii) So once the above is achieved.
Have to find the Maximum concurrent connections for day from the above.
For below Maximum Concurrent connections are '3'
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|Concurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-01-2015|11 to 12|2
Hence the Result for Maximum Concurrent Connections would be
    Date|TimePeriod/Bucket(hr part)|MaxConcurrentconnections|
    Jan-01-2015|01 to 02|3
    Jan-02-2015|12 to 13|13

    Thanks George.
    That was fantastic.
    But
But I don't want  the participants to be concurrent in the same call. And should consider the different call.
Lets say Phone Call P1 having 2 participants , obviously they are concurrent according to that call.
Only the Phone calls with more than one participant should match with other phone call with more than one participant.
A Phone call with any number of participants not matching with the time slot of other phone call should be ignored.
There might be a different call say P2, having some 3 participants at the same time or atleast fall in P1's time slot.
    So
    P1 --> 2 participants ---> start hour 10:00am  ; End Hour 12:00pm
    P2 --> 3 participants ---> start hour 10:30am ; End hour 12:30 pm
    P3 --> 4 participants ----> start hour 11:00am ; End hour 11:10am
So the concurrency should ignore for P1 and should consider for P2 and P3. From above P2 having 3 participants, P3 having 4 participants. So the common time for all P1,P2,P3 is 11:00am - 11:10am.
    Concurrency should be
    Starthour    EndHour  ConConnections
10:00am    11:00am   (2+3+4) ---> 2 for P1, 3 for P2, 4 for P3, because at exactly 11:00am there are 4 participants. So the time bucket or the slab for 1 hour will give us that concurrency at that particular slab. Except that independent
    participants to that call.
    So Result should be
Start Hour     End Hour            Concurrent Connections
    10:00am       11:00am                      9
    11:00am       12:00pm                      9
    12:00pm       01:00pm                      5

  • Maximum concurrent call connections for our Call Manager v7.15

    Hi everyone,
Hope you can help! I was just asked one question I should have known how to answer...
We are using CM 7.15. Have 1 publisher and 1 subscriber. We have 2 pri T1 (24 slots).  One connects to 1 2821 Voice gateway and another one is connection to another 2821 voice gateway in another location. I do not think we use SIP trunk...but I am not sure if we are using mpcp or H323.... so how do I check which protocol I use?
The most important question is... I would like to ask how I can find out what the maximum concurrent sessions of the call connections are? How do I find it out?
Please help...thank you very much for your help.
    Takumi

    Hi Bobson Lam,
in CUCM Administration > Device > Gateway, you have a list of configured Gateways ... in this list there is a column called 'Device Type', this column shows the 'H.323 Gateway' or the Gateway Model (for ex.: 2821) if it's MGCP.
For Maximum Concurrent Sessions ... have you try RTMT (CUCM Administration > Administrations > Plugin > RTMT for Windows)? There are some System - Performance, that shows, for example, Call Active for H.323.
    Hope this helps.

I looked in Firefox properties to find what I Firefox i am using and it shows the following:
The Firefox File version is: 1.9.2.3951
    The File Name is: 1.9.2.12
    The Product Version is: 3.6.12
My problem is this: The company I work for "Prudential R.E." has online training courses. I can't access it because I get the following message: "You cannot play the learn 2 course content with this version of netscape" because it has no live connect support"
The training center for Prudential told me this: ""Currently the LearnCenter does not support Firefox 3.6 but does support the
earlier versions and this could be the issue.""
How do I get the earlier version of Firefox?
And if I can get the earlier version of Firefox. "How do I fix this problem? Do I uninstall all of Firefox and then reinstall the earlier version if I can get access to a download of it somewhere?

  • Difference between maximum concurrency and batch mode in JDBC

    Hi All,
Could som one tell me the difference between maximum concurrency and batch mode in receiver JDBC adapter?
    Regards,
    XIer

    Hi,
The Max Concurrancy and Batch mode are used for performance tunning for JDBC adapter.
Max Concurrancy is possible upto 5 only. so even if you will be taking up 10 it will by-default take 5.
The number of records being processed depend on the size of each record. for e.g Per minit XI Is Processing 50 Records,It will Take lot of time to process all Records.
So if you set Max concurrancy as 5 then at time 5 messages will be processed simultaneously.
In Batch mode it will, collect the multiple SQL statements that will be created for records to be processed and processed at a time. It will  improve performance considerably.
But Batch Mode is possible with only INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE etc.
The Stored procedures can be executed with max concurrency
Thus it completely depends that on the no of records to be processed at a time and volume of Mesasges.
    Thanks

  • Cant get DTS Connect to show when I install the DD Live and DTS connect pack

    Whats up with this?
I bought the DD Li've and DTS Connect Pack yesterday. After installing and restarting machine I go into the Creative Console Launcher and I can only see DD Li've available and not DTS Connect. My receiver send out and supports DTS fine as I been using it all the time with DTS supported video files. The only way I can get DTS now is if I disable DD Li've so it picks up the signal. I'm using Win XP Pro.
This is what it is showing.

Exactly the same problem for me.

  • 20,000 concurrent viewers in live streaming

Hi, excuse me, do you think that only one server could handle 20,000 concurrent viewers in live streaming?
The stream will be in 500kbps. The server could have 1Gbps of port speed.
What else should i care? Do you know what resource is more important: CPU or RAM to handle this kind of load.
We plan to use RTMP to play on FLASH an HLS to play on IOS devices.
    Thanks a lot.

Hi, we have not deployed it yet. We need to know if onlyone server could handle this or if it will be needed more than one server. We have thinked to deploy it on Softlayer because they have the option of ports of 1Gbps and dual 1Gbps. But we dont know if we need the more powerfull server available, or if we need a configuration with a decent CPU but more RAM. I cant find any info from Adobe about load testing results, or maximum RTMP and HLS connections to only one server. If you know something about it and can share with us ill thank you a lot.

  • Channel has reached maximum concurrency (5,000 concurrent messages)

    Hi Experts,
I have executed a scenario: IDocs to AS400 (JDBC Adapter). Some IDocs were processed succesfully but some are giving the following error.
"com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has reached maximum concurrency (5,000 concurrent messages) and no free resource found within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the maximum concurrency level"
Can any one faced this problem? Please do needful...
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Hi,
This error occurs when the channel has only few (minimum 1) resources in the pool(to connect the DB in parallel) and the messages load to that channel is high. Hence, channel will reach to maximum concurrency( minimum 1, by default). In this case, you can increase this maximum concurrency value to higher value (could be 3 to 5) and check whether the issue is happening still.
Hope this feature implementation will solve your problem.

    Soorya

  • VOD and remotes

Did a search on the VOD and had a few similar hits from 1+ year ago so figured I'd start a new one. Wife and I we're going to buy a movies on VOD last night but during the trailer, there was a moderate amount of pixelation and garbled audio. I don't have patience for that kind of stuff so we elected to skip VOD. Turns out my wife had ordered a movie on VOD a month or two back (while I was out of town) and said she had similar issues. This is on a HDSTB. We also have an HD HMDVR on a different TV, VoIP and WiFi running through the verizon router. While I did check/reseat the coax connections, I did not swap coax cables.
Any ideas? I can live without a fix by simply not using VOD but it would be nice to get this sorted.
Also, I have to say these Verizon STB remotes are the worst in terms of reception sensitivity at the STB! I'd say about 60-70% of the time I have to enter channels 2+ times because the STB did not register one of the channel inputs. This is with fresh batteries, direct line of sight (6-8 feet away) to the STB and no obstructions to the STB.

Hi gesoffen, i'm sorry you're experiencing pixelation on VOD, we want you to be able to use the features available to you.
There are 2 things you can try to fix the issue. 1st, you can login the the router, and change the coax channel to automatic. If that doesn't help then a change of cable from splitter to stb could help (be sure to use RG6 coax).  If neither of these help, there could be an issue with the splitter. If you need help changing the coax channel, send me a personal message.
As far as the remote control, have you had it replaced? If so and the issue remains, it could be an infra red issue that occurs with the 7000 series stbs and some tv's.

  • EVDO Kyocera 6250 Modem Card Saturates and Stalls Connection

Has anybody been able to get the Kyocera 6250 modem to work reliably with the Verizon EVDO network?
It looks like at maximum download speeds, the modem/PPP/TCP Stack are saturated and stall. It requires powering down/ejecting the modem card to get it going again.
I can avoid the issues by throttling the download to 48 kbytes/sec.
Verizon support has elevated the issue, but no solution. The card and setup works fine on a Dell laptop.
    -- Harald

I finally decided to clear off a spare drive and install a new version of Tiger.
The problem can be replicated on two systems (TiBook and PowerBook) running a fresh installation of Tiger with just VZ Access Manager added - no patches, no applications.
All looks fine until you start several threads of downloads bringing up the kbytes/sec above 60 or so. Then it takes up to 90 secs and the connection WILL stall requiring shutting down the connection and card before being able to reconnect. Access Manager continues to believe, it's a live connection, but no data is coming in.
This looks like a SmithMicro problem.
The system is also not able to reliably deal with multi homing. Enabling your Wifi or ethernet to connect to a LAN leads to frequent disconnections. In this case, the Access Manager is managing the state, however.

  • Difference between connection pooling and simple connection

Anybody please tell me what is the Difference between connection pooling and simple connection and also where we define connection pooling and how.
    Thanks
    Please reply soon
    amitindia

Creating and closing connection to the database is a relatively slow process. Equally connections use database resources so you can't just open as many as you want.
A connection pool maintains a number of open connections throughout the lifetime of the application. Instead of opening and closing the connections your application just "borrows" them from the pool when they're needed.
If the pool runs out of connections it will usually create new ones as needed until you reach some predefined upper limit.
A good connection pool will also manage connections which have failed for any reason, and report code which fails to return connections to the pool (ie connection leaks).
The number of connections created at startup is referred to as the "low water mark" and the maximum number that the pool will allow to be opened at any given time is the "high water mark". If no connections are available client code will generally block until one is released.
If by "defined" you mean where can you get a working implementation then your database or application server vendor is likely to provide one. Also the Apache Jakarta Commons includes [url http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dbcp/]an implementation which you can use with any JDBC driver.
    Dave.

  • Performance with MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox

    Hi!
I'm having quite some problems with the performance of MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox. However, I'm very happy with the ease of using database connectivity toolbox. The background is:
I have 61 variables (ints and floats) which I would like to save in the MySQL-database. This is no problem, however, the loop time increases from 8ms to 50ms when using the database. I have concluded that it has to do with the DB Tools Insert Data.vi and I think that I have some kind of performance issue with this VI. The CPU never reach more the 15% of its maximum performance. I use a default setup and connect through ODBC.
    My questions are:
    1. I would like to save 61 variables each 8-10ms, is this impossible using this solution?
    2. Is there any way of increasing the performance of the DB Tools Insert Data.vi or use any other VI?
    3. Is there any way of adjusting the MySQL setup to achieve better performance?
Thank you very much for your time.
    Regards,
    Mattias

First of all, thank you very much for your time. All of you have been really good support to me.
    >> Is your database on a different computer?  Does your loop execute 61 times?
Database is on the same computer as the MySQL server.
The loop saves 61 values at once to the database, in one SQL-statement.
I have now added the front panel and block diagram for my test-VI. I have implemented the queue system and separate loops for producer and consumer. However, since the queue is building up faster then the consumer loop consumes values, the queue is building up quite fast and the disc starts working.
The test database table that I add data to is created by a simple:
    create table test(aa int, bb char(15));
...I'm sure that this can be improved in some way.
I always open and close the connection to the database "outside the loop". However, it still takes some 40-50 ms to save the data to the database table - so, unfortunatly no progress to far. I currently just want to save the data.
Any more advise will be gratefully accepted.

    Mattias

  • How to set up 6th Generation AirPort Extreme to cable modem as a wireless router and then connect my 3rd Generation Time Capsule to AirPort Extreme as a wireless extender?

What is the best way to set up my 6th Generation AirPort Extreme (A1521) to my cable modem as a wireless router and then connect my 3rd Generation Time Capsule (A1355) to my AirPort Extreme as a wireless extender? I live in a small 1 story house and I currently have the Airport Extreme connected to my cable modem in the living room and the Time Capsule plugged into the wall in my bedroom. I am able to wirelessly connect to the internet using the AirPort Extreme as my router and I can also do wireless back ups to my Time Capsule. My problem is that my connection seems to be really slow! My 1TB Time Capsule back up is only half way complete and it has been 3 days! My computer has been backing up all day and night for almost 72 hours and its still not even 75% complete. I have backed up to this Time Capsule in the past and it never took this long. I am thinking that when I set up my AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule using AirPort Utility I must have set it up incorrectly or something.
How do I set up my Airport Extreme and Time Capsule for the fastest possible internet speed and back up speed?
    Thank you,

AirPort Utility 5.6 works with AirPort Extreme 802.11g base stations.
It works with N version airports.
It will also show details of the AC model but cannot be used for the setup.. mostly.
I purposely got the new 6th Gen Airport Extreme so my internet connection would be a lot faster!
Your network will be much faster when you have AC client directly connected to the AE. Older client will go no faster.. but what is worse.. extend wireless is mixing new and old wireless standards.. guess what one wins.. OLD.. So when you extend wireless.. you have no improvement whatsoever. This whole post is about extending wireless.. so you cannot extend to older equipment and do any better.. maybe slightly better signal although from your comments that isn't happening either.
I would rather not have to use an ethernet at all with the TC and I don't know EOP adapters are!
If you do not use ethernet then you are going to be forced to accept slow speed.
EOP (ethernet over power). Also called homeplug in the US.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HomePlug
Provides a method of networking over power cabling that already exists in your house.
So what your saying is for the fastest internet speed and back up speed possible I should keep my Airport Extreme plugged into my Modem and keep my TC set up as a wireless extender? Then when I want to do back ups I should plug an ethernet cable from my TC to my MacBook Pro?
    To spell this out.
A wireless link to an extended device will go very slowly.. if it is not direct.
So lets say you have a laptop sitting in the lounge.. Your connection goes.. Laptop- - - - - AE- - - - -TC.
That means two wireless links.. wireless has this nasty half duplex and single channel nature.. it can send or receive (Tx or Rx) but not at the same time.
Ethernet by contrast does both at once. It is full duplex.
Wireless can talk to one client at a time.. so if there are multiple items using wireless lets say 4 devices.. then your computer gets a 25% time slice. Since wireless cannot handle multiple simultaneous connections.
Ethernet by contrast can connect multiple computers to multiple destinations at the same time.. all transmitting and receiving at full speed.
When you put all this together.. there are a couple of rules for fast connection.
    1. Use ethernet at all times. Where you cannot use ethernet use anything but wireless.. eg EOP (homeplug) at least to try and get rid of wireless.
    2. Where you must use wireless use it sparingly and make sure it is never more than one hop.. ie never have an extend wireless (repeater is more usual term). Repeater will cause instant slowdown of 50% and maybe up to 75% just because it is so inefficient.
    3. Fastest wireless is 5ghz but it has very short range.. you need to be up close and personal to get it working.
Apple routers however unless you do manual setup I suggest are set to connect to best signal strength not best speed. It will therefore use 2.4ghz at 25% less speed than 5ghz because it is 1db better signal.. this madness means you need to setup manually for the best setup.

  • Droid Razr M Kitkat 4.4.2 Update Removes All Wireless and Network Connectivity

For 2 days a screen has been popping up on my phone urging me to download and install Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. What could go wrong, I asked myself? Oh, brother!
Before: Android Jellybean has been chugging along contentedly on my phone for nearly a year. I love my phone. It has served me very well. I get a clear and full-strength signal from anywhere in my home using my personal router, and get a signal matching in quality to the strength and distance of Wi-Fi routers when I am out and about. (I previously had an HTC Desire with US Cellular and could NOT get a clear signal of 4 bars except very rarely. Usually I got 1 or no bars. Caveat: I live out in the country.) My Verizon Droid gets 4G network 5 X 5 almost always out here. Let's just say I've been very satisfied.
After: Android Kitkat is installed. Yay! Oh, phone. Why you no work no more? It's really simple. I have no wireless connection, even though the router is working perfectly and this is proved by the fact that my wife is online in the next room with her computer. I also have no 4G connection. I have no 3G connection. I HAVE NO CONNECTION! I have a brick which I can't even play my games on because they can't connect with the game servers.
So, first, thank you, Verizon, for sending out a product that has clearly not been properly tested. A casual look at the forums and other websites will show that this problem isn't peculiar to my phone. It's all over the country.
Second, please patch this pronto! My phone is dead! Dead to me, I say! Unless I have internet connections and the ability to make and receive phone calls, I will have to consider throwing in the Verizon towel and finding a competitor who can actually roll out a successful update.
    All the best!
    PRK

I fixed it! By myself! Me! Single-handedly! OK, I fixed it by accident after trying every thing that I saw mentioned on these forums regarding the update problems. What worked? No clue. I did: 3 soft resets; 3 switching on and off wireless; 5 forgetting and re-discovering my router and re-entering all the password key info; turned it off and left it off for 2 hours; changed/toggled every state of every wireless and data connection switch 5 times.
I'm not sure which of these worked. After turning it off and turning it back on after all the above attempts, I had signals. Wireless and 4G. Who knows why. So, dear Verizon, I take back the mean things I said. I'm sure you were trying as hard as you could in a stressful situation. Neither of us was at our best. Let's just agree to let it go and move on. OK? OK?
