MDK SP13 Where is it?

Does anyone know when SAP will release the "real" full MDK SP13. The current MDK delivered with NWDS SP 13 is the SP 11 MDK with the documentation missing so many descriptions. The API seems to be upto date and that's really frustrating. There are so many classes/interfaces deprecated without pointing to the replacement classes. Some interfaces have been deprecated and not documented as such in the MDK but the NWDS will make sure you know. It would make life so much easier if I didnt have to search heavily each time I wanted to implement a functionality.
Thanks,
Wael Aoudi

Wael,
Although the MDK entry page shows SP11, it is truely a SP13 version (according to MI PM team).
You can found a new API (in Javadoc) about Performance under Application Development > Ensuring Quality > Performance
A copy is shown here :

    - For the records which doesn't consists of detail records should pass only header record. ex: MDk-113
    - To merge the both the files, im using BPM with correlation.
The correlation which i need to use in BPM is the first record in both the files "MDk-XXX" where XXX is the number which may or may not match in both the files.. So i need to pass only first four characters of the first filed in the correlation ie. "MDK-".
After file content conversion, the input xml payload will be as below
    <Code>MDK-112</bankCode>
How can I pass only first four characters of this field ("MDK-") in Xpath in the correlation tab?
    Kindly suggest.
    Thanks

    Hi Deepthi,
You can send the substring of the Code value. This is explained in the following WIKI, have a look at this.

  • System refresh with different abap patch stacks

    Hi gurus
I have a scenario that  as of my  ECC 6.0 PRD  system has ABAP stack patch level at SP13. where my QAS system at stack level 17.
Now i have to refresh the QAS system with the PRD data.
My query is, is it possible to copy the PRD system to QAS( previously i did it successfully while both PRD & QAS was in the same stack 13, currenty i upgrade the QAS's  SP stack to 17).
let me know whether  is it possible to take a system copy from PRD?.... or any alternates..
    environment is  ECC 6.0           O/S: WIN2003 Server        DB:MSSQL 2005
    Thanks in advance.
    Balaji nampally

Yes, it is possible to take a system copy from PRD.
But patch level is stored in the database, and so it will be copied.
Your QAS system will be at patch level 13 afterwards, like PRD.
If you want patch level 17 for QAS, you may either wait till PRD will be at 17, or you may repeat patching in QAS.
    hope this helps

  • Basic Questions on Getting Started with MDK

What I discover at this point is that I can't see any sign of the MDK in Eclipse. There is an article that talks about installing the MDK, but what it really talks about is installing the client engine. For the process, you need a live SAP Web Server to talk to-- i.e., a backend.
I don't see any samples that were downloaded with the MDK. It just consists of a set of plugin jar files for Eclipse. No samples whatsoever.
I'm not sure where to go from here. A contact at SAP would be helpful to help me figure out what it is I need to look at.
One thing I have found out: The SAP Mobile Infrastructure (MI), which is what I am looking at, is for developing either thin client applications using JSP or fat client Java programs, both of which rely on a local run-time engine that talks to a real SAP backend. It would be impossible to do any development or even run a pre-built application without having a backend to talk to.
We do not have SAP installed, so we need some help with connecting to a backend system and getting the MDK properly installed. Thanks.

    Hi Brent,
First of all, thanks for checking out the MDK.
If you want to use the MDK, you can install the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS). You can see the MDK in the Help menu item. From there, you will be able to navigate the MDK documentation.
I strongly suggest you to use NWDS instead of Eclipse. MDK is a set of documentation, tutorials and examples; together with a plug-in for the IDE to develop MI-based mobile application.
Mobile Infrastructure comprises of a client and server components. The MI Client component runs on the mobile device while the MI Server Component runs on the "middleware" server (ie: the SAP Web Application Server). Starting SAP NetWeaver 2004, the MI 2.5 Server component ships with the SAP WebAS 6.40. You will need a backend server (eg: R/3, ERP2004, etc.) to get the business data as well.
You can check out the MI online documentation for more information:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a7/893a5889e08b41b615688b1a93b559/frameset.htm

  • Process chains time outs and hangs with no error msg - in SP13

    Hi all,
We are having all kind of weird problems after we patched our system with SP13. Our process chain time outs and hangs, but surprisingly we never get any error msg. And scarier part is, the problem seems to be intermittent. PC runs fine on some days and hangs on some.
Further analysis into the dump – as below
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRSSM" -
    in "RSSM_SLEEP_DEBUG".
The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
In the source code the termination point is in (Include) program "LRSSMU39".
This refers to an issue that appears to have been addressed by OSS Note
934648(meant for SP8). This notes also indicates to populate RSADMIN table to
exclude "RSSM_SLEEP_DEBUG". Not sure if this note is valid for SP13? However we went ahead and populated the RSADMIN table.
So now we have no clue what’s going on and where to fix the issue.
As per SAP suggestion we applied the following notes:
    0000653996  Analyzing lock situations
0000893563  Correction: Deadlock on completion of a remote chain
0000994007  Corrections: Deadlock with external status query
0001005481  Correction: Process successful, but there is no instance
0001047174  Correction: Incorrect scope when locking in process chains
0001051957  Correction: TIME_OUT during dialog confirmation of processes
0001083660  Report for error stack analysis
Nothing seems to help us. And SAP suggested a few options, which we implemented to no rescue.
I’m sure that many of the customers have applied SP13, and want some feedback from them, if this is happening in their systems too?
If so, how did you fix this issue?
Or this situation is unique to us?Please note that no settings were changed as of SP13 to that of what they were in SP12(unless it is a side effect of the patch itself). Everything worked fine with SP12 and is still working on the BIP system. All the problems are in BIQ patched to SP13.
Any pointers or insight would be appreciated. We have a customer msg open with SAP, and going back and forth, but nothing seemed to work as of today.
    Thanks,
    Voodi

Not sure which OSS helped us get past the issue, as SAP asked us to apply a ton of notes. But along which the notes, SAP has some suggestions for us, which we think did the magic. After the implementation of the suggestin we never faced the same issue again. The suggestion by SAP:
move the process chain callback in a batch job by executing
program RSSM_TRACE_SWITCH and selecting the flag "verifcation
of asynchronous processes - execute in batch".
Lemme know if this doesnt fix the issue, I can give all the notes that SAP asked us to apply.

  • Missing javai.dll with jdk1.3, 4.5.1, sp13

Now that Java 2 JDK1.3.0 with hotspot is supported for 4.5.1
    (http://www.weblogic.com/platforms/index.html#winnt), I thought I would
give it a try. I am using Weblogic 4.5.1 with SP13, and NT 4.0.
When I start the server I get the following dialog box at the end of the

    path
    c:\jdk1.3\bin;.;C:\WINNT\System32;C\WINNT\system
    OK
Actually it's not OK, but since I had no choice I pressed it. Then I get
the following error with stack trace:

I suspect the problem may be that the system checks to see if it is
running jdk1.2, if it is it, trys to load wlntio_jdk12.dll. If it is not
running jdk1.2 (like in my case where it is running jdk1.3), it assumes
that it is running jdk1.1 and loads wlntio.dll which looks for
    javai.dll.
Has anyone else had this problem, or has anyone sucessfully used jdk1.3
    with 4.5.1?
    Thanks,
    Carles

We were given a patch (CR038329) a week ago and it appears to resolve this
for 4.5.1 sp13. They should be noting the need for this patch on the
platform page. Anyone know if there's an equivalent patch for 4.5.2? (and
will the fix be included in sp2?)

Yes, I've seen exactly this for months. We started trying 1.3 with 4.5
before they certified it and I saw this problem. I mentioned it to them
when they said they were working on certification, but apparently they
didn't notice. When they announced the certification, I pointed it out
again and they saw it as well. So I opened case 202537 (Problem with
WebLogic 4.5.1 and JDK 1.3 with native IO) to track this. The current
status is "Awaiting Patch". The following is from Nov. 20
"It looks like this issue has been assigned to an engineer. The fix is
"non-trivial" which means it may take some time to fix--but at the same
time, keep in mind that the issue has been marked with the highest priority
possible and we will work hard to get this resolved. I'll keep you updated."

  • Authschemes.xml in EP6.0 SP13 Netweaver

    Hi together,
after testing EP with EP6.0 SP02 we have installed EP 6.0 SP13 (Netweaver).
In the old installation I changed the authschemes.xml cause changing the logon screen.
Now in the new installation the folder-structure have changed. I did'nt found the authschemes.xml and the folder UME where this file was placed.
Have anybody an idea or an information that the concept of handling the logon screen have changed?
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas & Amit,
The steps mentioned by you are correct but it is always recommended (by SAP) not to upload the the authscheme.xml with the same SAP name i.e. not to overwrite the the Standard SAP file.
Instead rename the authscheme.xml to a diff name say authscheme_thomas.xml, create a new sub-node at the same level and uplaod this new file there.
    Then in the Config Tool,
In the tree, navigate to Global server configuration -> services -> com.sap.security.core.ume.service.
Here list of UME properties appears.
Now search for the authscheme.xml entry property and there you will have to make you own entry.
This way if you have to restore standard SAP file, it will not be a problem.

  • Update sneak preview Java Edition to SP13 or SP14?

Has anyone updated the sneak preview Java Edition (incl. EP 6) to SP13 or 14?
I have trouble installing SP13 (The installation of the Sneak Preview was smooth.).
Here is what I have downloaded and did. I found 4 SP groups for EP6 on Sap services:
    - CM+Collaboration
    - IGS (where SP12 seems to be the highest version)
    - J2EE engine
    - Portal platform
I have started with the update of the J2EE engine to SP13.
Unfortunately it hangs at step 17 deploy online.
Do I do something wrong here?
    Any hints are appreciated.
    Regards F.

    Hi Frank,
I updated the WAS preview to SP13 and it was a total mess and 4 week loss of lifetime. Never tried to do it with the portal demo though.
If the sdm hangs try the following:
    - wait 5 min, then click retry
    - if it happens again wait 5 min, then click retry
    - if it happens again wait 5 min, then click retry
    - if it happens again wait 5 min, then click retry
    (no joke)
If this fails it will be most likely that your DB has run out of log space. The SAP system usually honors that with freezing without any apparent reason or log output. A colleague of mine has escalated this more than one week to SAP Support and event they didn't figure it out.
Try stopping the install and the sap system. When the sdm process keeps hanging and the DB will not shut down you are 99% likely to have the log problem. Get the win mysql DB manager, login to your db (default pw: control/control) and go to configuration->log volumes. Set the log strategy to "overwrite" (on test systems) restart and it should work.
