MDM WD component Result Set in BPM process

Hi all!
I'm using an MDM WD pre-generated component ResultSet in my BPM process. User exits and context of this component are described in the link below:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/4a/387eb4a7ea1ca2e10000000a42189c/frameset.htm
However I found thhat information insufficient. I'm trying to pass several records to the ResultSet component to display. So I'm experimenting with passing different values either to internalId context attribute or to FieldValues node. But I only managed to make it display only single record. For example by passing something like "2" to internalId (2 being Auto Id of the record in MDM). No luck with several records still.
Can you please clarify what is exact specification of the data format to be passed to those context nodes in BPM?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

I hope you are using wrapper DC where you have used ResultSet MDM WDC. You can set multiple records in the context using API
setRecordIds(Integer[] ids) : Passes an array of MDM internal record IDs to the Result Set component for display. Non valid record IDs are ignored.
refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/4c/05b0ec5b814c86e10000000a42189e/content.htm
e.g. in wrapper DC component wdThis.wdGet<ResultSet Component>Interface.setRecordIds(<array of record Ids>)

  • Help with streaming result sets and prepared statements

    hi all
    I create a callable statement that is capable of streaming.
    statement = myConn2.prepareCall("{call graphProc(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)}",java.sql.ResultSet.TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY,
    java.sql.ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);

    the class that contains the query is instantiated 6 times the first class streams the results beautifully and then when the second

    is executed I get the following error

    Database resources should have the narrowed scope
    possible. I don't think it's a good idea to use a
    ResultSet in a UI to generate a graph. Load the data
    into an object or data structure inside the method
    that's doing the query and close the ResultSet in a
    finally block. Use the data structure to generate
    the graph.
    It's an example of MVC and layering.
    Ok that is my bad for not elaborating on the finer points sorry, the results are not directly streamed into the graphs from the result set. and are processed in another object and then plotted from there.
    with regards to your statement in the beginning I would like to ask if you think it at least a viable option to create six connections. with that said would you be able to give estimated users using the six connections under full usage.
    just a few thoughts that I want to
    bounce off you if you don't mind. Closing the
    statement would defeat the object of of having a
    callable statement How so? I don't agree with that.
    %again I apologise I assumed that since callable statements inherit from prepared statements that they would have the pre compiled sql statement functionality of prepared statements,well If you consider in the example I'm about to give maybe you will see my point at least with regards to this.
    The statement that I create uses a connection and is created statically at the start of the program, every time I make a call the same statement and thus connection is used, creating a new connection each time takes up time and resources. and as you know every second counts
    thanks for your thoughts
    Brian.

  • MDM web dynpro in BPM process

    This is my first development in BPM, so please be charitable and understanding....
    I have following error in my process:
    Error: Build stopped due to an error: com.sap.glx.paradigmInterface.bpmn.compiler.BPMNCompilerException: [BPM.rt_c_bpmn.000024] I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't do that: The data object 'UIResponse' does not have any type assigned to it
    I have MDM web dynpro Item detail component embeed in my process in the human activity. I suppose that the problem is maybe in WebDynpro part, but I have no idea where - I was following the instructions given in e-book "How to integrate MDM with BPM", until now :-(. Do you have any idea what can be the reason of such error? I tried to find something in google, but no results for that....
    Thanks,

    Yes, I follow instruction "How to Integrate Master Data Management(MDM) and Business Process Management(BPM)", chapter number 5 - "Passing MDM Semantic Data between BPM Process Steps using wrapper application". In my example I need to have BPMStatus visible in the context - I don't know why yet, but it is empty now. The previous problem which I described above is already solved. I am not sure where the problem exactly was, nothing helped, so I decided to create new process from scratch. Now I am able to build the project (no error occur), but my contrainer is empty. I drag and drop it as it is descibed on page 58. The only one difference is that I made connection with BPM status.
    Besides, I discovered strange thing in this documentation on page number 61 - specify event handler. I use CE ver 7.2, and I have different windows than here - I have methods, events and event handler in separate tabs. So, I created event and event handler in those separate tabs, and then I should be able to copy them to Intefrace controller, as it is described it instruction. But in interface controller I don't have tab "event handler". Do you know why is that? Is it enough to have event handler in Component Controller? Maybe this is the problem why I don't see my container and cannot complete task?
    Regards and thanks for your replies,

  • CE 7.2: Assign MDM WD Component to BPM task

    Hello!
    I am working with SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.2 SP02 PAT0000 and CE 7.2 Trial Server.
    The BPM task edition interface has a little bit changed in CE 7.2. Am trying to assing MDM WD Item Details Component to task. I have added all necessary dependency and go Task interface -> Choose -> Unified UI Import Wizard -> Search. This wizard cannot locate MDM WD Components and I cannot create BPM process for MDM in CE 7.2.
    Does anybody know how to solve such problem?

    Hello Sergey,
    In fact this is a reported bug on 7.2 BPM, a fix will be added soon (still not sure on which SP).
    When searching for WD to assign to human task, BPM can find local WD applications (components), so as a workaround you will need to wrap the MDM WD component that you need to consume in a simple wrapper.
    So you will need to create a new WD application locally (at your landscape), and use the MDM WD component as used component, and use this wrapper in your human task.
    Best regards,
    Isam

  • Af:inputListOfValues sets value of first item in result set when using enter key or tab and component set to autosubmit=true

    I'm using JDev 11.1.1.6 and when I type a value into an af:inputListOfValues component and hit either the enter key or the tab key it will replace the value I entered with the first item in the LOV result set. If enter a value and just click out of the af:inputListOfValues component it works correctly. If I use the popup and search for a value it works correctly as well. I have a programmatic view object which contains a single transient attribute (this is the view object which is used to create the list of value component from) and then I have another entity based view object which defines one of its attributes as a list of value attribute. I tried using an entity based view object to create the LOV from and everything works as expected so I'm not sure if this is a bug when using programmatic view objects or if I need more code in the VOImpl. Also, it seems that after the first time of the value being replaced by the first value in the result set that it will work correctly as well. Below are some of the important code snippets.
    Also, it looks like it only doesn't work if the text entered in the af:inputListOfValues component would only have a single match returned in the result set. For instance given the result set in the code: Brad, Adam, Aaron, Fred, Charles, Charlie, Jimmy
    If we enter Cha, the component works as expected
    If we enter A, the component works as expected
    If we enter Jimmy, the component does not work as expected and returns the first value of the result set ie. Brad
    If we enter Fred, the component does not work as expected and returns the first value of the result set ie. Brad
    I also verified that I get the same behavior in JDev 11.1.1.7

    I have found a solution to this issue. It seems that when using a programmatic view object which has a transient attribute as its primary key you need to override more methods in the ViewObjectImpl so that it knows how to locate the row related to the primary key when the view object records aren't in the cache. This is why it would work correctly sometimes but not all the time. Below are the additional methods you need to override. The logic you use in retrieveByKey would be on a view object by view object basis and would be different if you had a primary key which consisted of more than one attribute.
    @Override
    protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, Key key, int i) {
        return retrieveByKey(viewRowSetImpl, null, key, i, false);
    @Override
    protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, String string, Key key, int i, boolean b) {
        RowSetIterator usersRowSetIterator = this.createRowSet(null);
        Row[] userRows = usersRowSetIterator.getFilteredRows("UserId", key.getAttribute(this.getAttributeIndexOf("UserId")));
        usersRowSetIterator.closeRowSetIterator();
        return userRows;
    @Override
    protected Row[] retrieveByKey (ViewRowSetImpl viewRowSetImpl, Key key, int i, boolean b) {
        return retrieveByKey(viewRowSetImpl, null, key, i, b);

  • How to set the conversation id programmatically in a BPM process

    Hi all,
    I am using BPM/SOA 11g PS3.
    Is it possible to set the conversation id programmatically in a BPM process starting with a none start event?
    I know I can set it easily if I use a BPM process starting with a message start event.
    All I have to do is set it in the "wsa:MessageID" node in SOAP Header when I initiate the process instance.
    However, I have no idea how to set the conversation id programmatically in a BPM process starting with a none start event.
    I looked for if there is any appropriate method in the Java api for the process instance management, such as IInstanceManagementService and CompositeInstance, but no method seems to be appropriate.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    Regards,
    Kenji

    Hi fifty,
    Did you get a solution to the above problem you have mentioned? I have a similar issue i am trying to fix.
    I have a webservice call in a process activity and if the call does not work i get a soap fault and the fuego.lang.ComponentExecutionException . My process requires that i catch the exception infact any kind of exceptions that occur on that call and perform another activity in the process.
    I have defined an exception handler at the activity level for java.lang.Exception and java.lang.RunTimeException.
    i don't see anything in the catalog which would handle the SOAP fault OR the componentexception.

  • BPM process and BRM rules process in same development component in NWDS

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to create the BPM process and BRM rules process in the same development component in NWDS?
    I tried but whenever we create it,say,first ly for BPM,that is File-New-Project-Development Component-Process Composer
    While once this development component is created I try to create rules composer in the same composer by right clicking on local development component as well as process composer but ther is no option of creating /calling rules composer/rules modeling.
    Can you please guide me creating both BPM process and BRM rules composer/rules modeling in the same development component if its possible?
    Thanks in advance

    Open your project explorer and expand the BPM project you have created. Locate a folder named "Rules" in the Project Tree. Right-click on the Rules folder and select 'Create new rule'. You can model your rules such as rule-scripts here and use it in the BPM.
    Note: These rules cannot be used outside the BPM Project.

  • How to programatically set  HT expiration based on BPM process?

    Hi All,
    I'm developing a BPM process with human tasks. Is there a way by which I can set the task to expire 35 days after the date the instance of the BPM process was spawned? I see within the task an option to set Expiration after a fixed number of days, but my scenario requires that I compare the current date with the date on which the instance of the BPM process was created and set to expire accordingly.
    Is this achievable? If not directly are there any suggested programmatic approaches to achieve this?
    JDev : 11.1.1.4
    Thank you.
    PP.

    Don't know if you know how to get the number of days, hours, minutes that you want to wait and then put that into a either a string or integer variable (no decimals). If you know how to do this, then the code below should help. These examples assume you want to wait a certain number of days and this number is passed in using the variable "sla".
    Setting the human task's deadline
    The human task deadline timer can be set programmatically from a process variable using an XPath expression. In the human task's "Deadline" tab select "By Expression" from the dropdown. In the example below, the XPath expression would this if you had an string or integer variable called "Sla" and you wanted to set the number of days based on this variable:
    concat("P0Y0M",/task:task/task:payload/task:Sla,"DT0H0M0.0S")
    Setting the Interactive activity's deadline
    You'll also want to set a boundary timer event on the Interactive activity set to the same duration. The syntax for this logic is different than the human tasks deadline. In the timer event, if you use the radio button "Time Date", the XPath expression to set the number of days based on a variable would be:
    xp20:add-dayTimeDuration-to-dateTime(xp20:current-dateTime(),concat('P0Y0M'  ,bpmn:getActivityInstanceAttribute('SUBPROCESS3082641628371', 'inputDataItem')/ns:sLA,'DT0H0M0.0S'))If you instead select the timer event's "Time Cycle" radio button, the logic would be:
    concat('P0Y0M',bpmn:getActivityInstanceAttribute('SUBPROCESS3082641628371', 'inputDataItem')/ns:sLA,'DT0HM0.0S')Dan

    How can I override the weblogic.jar and wlclient.jar for Oracle BPM?
    Please help me to resolve this problem.

  • How to access a method in webservice catalogued component in BPM Process

    Hi
    Can anyone explain me how to access a method in webservice catalogued component in BPM Process using an imported jsp in bpm process.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ashish

    If Class B only has a reference to an Interface A, and that reference points to a concrete instance of Class A, then of course Class B can still call the method on Interface A. The method for concrete instance Class A is called behind the scenes.
    That's how interfaces work. That's what they're good for.
    Look at the code in the java.sql package for examples. Connection, Statement, ResultSet - all are interfaces. But behind the scenes you're using the concrete implementations provided by your JDBC driver. You don't know or care what those classes are or their package structure. All you do is make calls to the java.sql interface API, and it all works. - MOD

  • Reg: Removing duplicates in MDM result set Iview.

    Hi All,
    I am using a standard result set iview. Is it possible to remove the duplicates in this iview?
    For eg: If i am displaying names in the result set iview, if the same name comes second time,that should not be considered or displayed on the result set iview.
    Thanks,
    Prasanthi.

    You might get better results asking in a MDM forum....

  • Hide or Remove OCI Check Box column from Standard MDM Result Set iview

    Hi,
    Can we hide or remove the OCI Check box column from the Standard MDM Result set ivew?
    Though i have made OCI disabled, I dont want to display the check boxes along with the product list.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi Arun,
    If you are talking about the very first check box, then that is not related to OCI. Use of check box is to anable multiple item selection which can be used adding the records in the workflow, for comparison etc.

  • How to set a base64binary to hexBinary in BPM process

    Hi all.
    I'm developing using Oracle BPM Suite 11.1.1.5
    I've the following scenario:
    I need to insert a binary from a BPM process to database using a data access web service implemented with ADF Service Interface. In the process a binary value is treated like xsd:base64binary while the ADF web service treats binary values as xsd:hexBinary. Inside my BPM process I got a service task making a service call to the data access webservice and invoking an InsertPhoto method. During the process I obtain the image (as a binary) I want to insert in the database and, using associations, I map the image value to the binary field required as input for the insert method. There's no error during the implementation but after deploy and test the process I got the following error, asociated to the service task:
    javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException:
    Exception Description: The object [<the hole binary characters>], of class [class java.lang.String], could not be converted to [class [B].

    Any suggestion will be welcome.

    Done. The solution was just go to the ADF web service schema definition (xsd), look for the InsertPhoto method message and change the type of Image (the binary field) from "hexBinary" to "base64Binary" and redeploy the web service application.

  • How to save memory when processing large result set

    I need to dump multi millions of rows of data into excel files
    I query the tables and open excel to write in
    The problem is even I chopped the result into hundred files, close excel completely after 65536 rows, the memory usage keeps going up as the result set is looped and at one point hit the heap size
    How can I release the memory has been used in the result set?
    Thank you

    I think resultSet.close() will do what you want (you shouldn't have to set resultSet=null when you're done with it).
    You can't force the garbage collector to run and reclaim memory. It uses an intelligent algorithm to do so .
    I question why your project is sending millions of records to excel. Who is going to read a 10,000 page excel document(s)?
    Instead, I suggest you provide a (intelligent) filter mechanism to allow users to get a subset of data to send to an excel document rather than all data. For example: instead of sending him the entire telephone book, have him search for results based on lastName and/or firstName. That will cut down on the number of records returned. Next, does the user really need all the columns of data in each record? That will cut it down further.
    You can search Google for 'java heap size' to increase the memory for your program. However, your 65536 limit is probably due to Excel's limitation and not your Java program.Sorry I could not explain the need,
    No. That is not issue here. I already use max heap size I can
    but I can handle it now. Open files, write directly to the file instead of holding the data and dumping all at once. I save all the overhead and it works fine even the result set still consumes almost all the memory.is it possible you are using mysql? the mysql jdbc driver has a terrible default setup in that it keeps all results for the result set in memory ! i think some of the latest drivers finally allow you to stream results sensibly, but you have to use the correct options.
