Measure time for a program in SE30 transaction code

where should i get the help files and i want to know how should we measure the time for the two different programs and upto how much time the program will take if the program is exactly right means with no errors and in the graph it is showing when i'm analyzing the performance of a program i.e abap with 77% in red, database with 10% in green, and system with 20% in green what does it represent. for a exactly correct program how much percentage should needed and it should be in which color?

for a good program,
the database and system time values should be green always.
abap program can be red also not a problem.
but if database is in red colour, (after it crosses 50%), then it means that it gives much load in database server and you should change your code performance.

did you ask for the 'ideal execution time' or 'how to measure execution times'?
The second question was answered in one of your other questions.
Optimization:
Do SQL Trace, go to Summary by SQL statement, check 10 Top contributions (time = duration).
Try to optimize them, note minimal time per record, if larger than 10.000 microsecodns, then you should index usage.
Do SE30, go to hit list, sort by net time, again address 10 Top contributions, try to optimize, check the coding.
Do optimization and trace again, check again 10 Top contributions ....

Validate/madatory in order to avoid long time for the program execution.

Below is my selction screen. I would like to do validations for specific fields to make them mandatory fields   as well.

For subsequent Credit, Vendor account and the Material Account will be triggered. If the Purchase Order is for Consumable Materials, then instead of the Material Account, the G/L specified in the Purchase Order will be triggered
Vendor account will be Debited and the Material / Consumption account will be credited. In case of a Material Purchase Order, and there is no stock exists for the Material then it will hit Price Difference account
For Material Account, G/L related to BSX Tr Key will be triggered. For consumption posting anyway G/L derivation is from the Purchase Order only.

Acceptable Response Times for a Development(ST05 & SE30)

Hello Everybody,
Can anybody tell me a way on how to find the acceptable resonpse times for a development in ECC. I mean, when we check the Runtime Analysis, we get the DB and ABAP times. As the data is very less in terms of business now, the reports or the developments are working fine, but tomorrow, the data becomes large these will have the performance issue.
So, based on this can we generalize and find out the acceptable percentages in SE30 as well as the times of execution in ST05. And can we combine the outputs of these two and come to a conclusion on the performance of the development.

what do you mean with tomorrow
Tomorrow, Tues Nov 14 or just future?
If the first one, then you are probably too late to fix something.
If the second, the you should be able to extrapolate from measurements with
10 objects to 100 and 1000 and 10.000.
Buut be careful besides the linear extrapolation you must take care that there is no nonlinear behavior,

How to create a tcode for a program in FMEQ transaction

Hi ABAP Experts,
I need to assign a program from FMEQ transaction to a custom z-transaction code. Can anybody tell me
how to do this. I already tried go to system-status-> "copy program name from here and past it in SE93).
This would not work because each time when you made changes to a program in FMEQ and generate it
system will generate new program name.

go to SE93,
Enter transaction code name & description
and choose option "Transaction with parameters (parameter transaction)" and press on "Continue" button.
Enter Transaction = START_REPORT and select all check-boxes in GUI support tab and enter below values in
Default values area.
D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = RE
D_SREPOVARI-REPORT =
D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = FM 01IFMEISA <name of program in FMEQ>
save and execute.

To high measurement time for NI PXI 4132

I'm using 4132 to measure very small current of photo transistor device. with 25v source to the DUT it takes me more than 100ms to get an stable current reading.
How will i reduce measurement time?

What current levels are you reading? How are you acquiring the data in software?
One thing to try is to reduce the Aperture time of the device. The PXI 4132 defaults to an aperture time of 16.6 ms. You can reduce this using the Configure Aperture Time VI or function. For more information see here:

I want to block/unblock customer sales areas(Transaction code : XD05) through program. Could you please suggest any BAPI for the same. As writing BDC will not be a good choice.

Hello Bhupender,
the best and easies solution is the MASS maintenance transaction as proposed above.
For the BAPI question, sorry but there is NO BAPI to maintain a customer master data.
The function module provided by my predecessor, even if it has the perfect look like is definitively not the one to use.
Despite the name, this FM is designed to support only the maintenance of CONSUMERs.
Moreover it is not an RFC enabled function module.
It might work in your case, as the data to maintain is quite simple and limited but you still may face several troubles like NO change documents and change pointers created and/or no synchronisation with TREX, CRM, ...
There is also a BAPI with a nice name, but in fact it is designed to be used only with SAP Online Store and SAP Product Catalog.
The only reliable path for investigation is described within [note 384462|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/384462].
A other path for investigation is the class CMD_EI_API which has been introduced with ECC 2005 (6.00).
You could wrap method MAINTAIN_BAPI inside of a bapi function module you would have written.
Otherwise, but still with limited functionality there are some eSOA webservices to find, read, maintain customer master data.

SE80 - Object Navigator
se80 is a tool to develope and navigate programs and dd-obj.
SE80 Object Navigator - > means all the objects qill be available there.
in se80 in addition to viewing the objects related to programming and classess, there are more priviliges to view such as some other repositories suchas mime, object repository,object browser and all..
The 2 editors are se38 and se80 both have the abap editor in place. In se38 you can go create programs and view online reports and basically do all thedevelopmet of objects in this editor. In se80 ( object navigator) there are additional features such as creating packages,module pool , function group ,classes, programs ( where you can create ur programs) and BSP applications .
SE38, u will get more space in editor when u compare with the SE80 screen, the tree structure available will occupy more space so it will be eay for us to code.
If u want to do any special navigation then u can got to SE80, but there is no specific reason.
It depends on teh users convineince.
se80 is to navigate to every object .....
but everytime there is no need to navigate to several steps and go to abap editor.
So there certain transactions which takes us to directly to the objects such as SE38 for abapaeditor
SE37 for function module
SE93 for creating transaction codes...etc.
U can also traverse to se80 from SE38 itself using CtrlShiftF5.
SE 38 ->Abap Editor thru which we can create/modify the programs.
SE80 ->Object Navigator thru which we can navigate to many areas like message classes,Function modules,application areas,transactions, programs etc.

You can find the Transaction associated with Program Names using the Repository Information System. ( Transaction : SE84 )
IN 4.6C
1. GOTO SE84 [Repository Information System.]
2. Goto Programming --> Program Environment --> Transactions --> DoubleClick
3. In the Transactions give [ z* ] and then press execute.
( B4 executing check whether Max no. hits is set to large number say 150000 etc..)
4. After the list is displayed, press [ Combined List ] for the Program Names also to get displayed.
In ECC
1. GOTO SE84 [Repository Information System.]
2. Goto Other Objects --> Transactions --> Double Click
3. In the Transactions give [ z* ] and then press execute.
( B4 executing check whether Max no. hits is set to large number say 150000 etc..)
4. After the list is displayed, press [ Combined List ] for the Program Names also to get displayed.
You can also save the list in Excel File using.. Menu.
(e.g.)
System --> List --> Save --> Local File --> tran.xls

Transaction Variant for a standard report without transaction code

Hi,
I want to create a transaction variant for a executable report. The report has some subscreens 100, 110 etc. I want to hide the subscreen through transaction variant. So I have created a transaction code (Y*) for it and then tried creating transaction variant using SHD0 transaction. But the fields are not listed to choose invisible or other options. Please advice

The fields are listed when you leave each recorded screen. You have the flag "do not display the screen". It's strange you don't have anything, are you sure you started the recording? (you enter the transaction code, the transaction variant, you click the Create button and the screens are displayed and recorded)
Which transaction is it?

i'm trying to find out which IView in the portal is calling a special backend transaction.
I only got the transaction name ("Transaction Code" in the IView definition).
How could I know which Iview is doing thiis ?

i already tried to search by the Portal Content / Search tab, but it doesn't help, and just looks through name, description and ID of the objects.
There might be another way (even if it's a coding one) to do this no ?

i just don't know why , although the program runs when i declare the methods two times,
but i think it's better java code , if i learn it why is this error and correct it
