Media Player setting size

Hi all,
I'm creating a screen which lists a number of MP3 files and an option to play the song. I'm using javax.media.Player. I am also displaying a Visual Component using getVisualComponent in a Jpanel.
My problem is how to "stretch" the component.
Following is the code I'm using :-

How to change default media player setting in Mountain Lion

I right click on the desired media player, then I click on "get info" and another pop up appears,
but there is no "open with" selection! See pic below:
I open the application folder in the Finder window, I highlight the desired media player, I go to the top and
click on File and in the drop down menu, the "open with" is grayed out. Why?

you need to find the file you are trying to have open with a specific application.
for example, I'm going to use an MP4 file titled cat_adventure video.
here it is in finder
I right click (secondary click) it in finder, and then hold down the option key on my keyboard.
the Open With dialogue should change to "Always Open With" and then you choose your application from the pull out menu when you hover that.
You can make it so all MP4 or whichever file you are using (AVI, MKV, etc) to open with a specific app by right clicking the file choosing get info
The difference here is I'm not selecting the application but a file with the extension of the video format I always want to be opened with a specific application
once in the get info menu I can then select to have the video always open with a certain app.
1.click the open with accordion menu arrow if it is pointing to the left. it should be pointing down.
2.select the application you want to always be associated with that file format
3.select Change All to have that file format always be opened with that Application.
Where this isn't working for you is because you are doing this to the Application itself. you don't do it like that. You need to find the type of file you are trying to open with itunes and then go through these steps.
selecting the application (itunes) instead of the file (mp4, avi, mkv, flv) will not allow you to set what the file format lets you use to play your video.
having said that, itunes is very limited in what it can and can't play. Mainly .mov and mp4's (apples proprietary extensions)

Windows Media Player set-up

I am planning to join a webinar and, using their web page facilities, am testing my MacBook Pro set-up to ensure that I can participate actively. The Windows Media Player test has revealed the following failing:
+Browser/Player Communication: Failed.+
+Media Slide Flip: Failed.+
+Synchronized webcast features including slides, polling questions and post-event surveys require that your preferred media player communicate with your Internet browser. Failing one or both tests above indicate you may not be able to view all elements of the presentation. Your browser, player, or network security settings may be responsible for the failure message+.
Is there a setting or some way to correct this?

Windows Media Player size

Hi, I am new to Labview software
and I am currently using it for my project, and I try to embed Windows Media Player on it. However, the size always changes depend on the video size that it plays. My question is: How can I size the WMP, so that eventhough I play the 800x600 pixels it will just stay in in original size?

Just create a property node, and set it to all write, put in values and your control will be limited to what size you have put in.

Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay

What is the best setting for compressing to a Window Media Player?

I now have the latest Compressor, just now need to figure out which is the best setting to use for compressing to a Windows Media Player. Does anyone know which is the best method?

I'd propose you buy a licence for Telestreams FLip4MAC (flipfactory) Quicktime components to enable ENCODING for HD and SD as you need. It works ok however none of my work requires specifics for windows player. I have a licence just the same.
If you have Flip4mac already installed, you can use the system preferneces panel to order a an ENCODER component licence. There may be others around as well.
You can just use compressor.app and change the inspector video to use "quicktime components/windows media encoder" in the batch job.. its pretty easy.

Want to download information but tries to do it in media player and says not possible, want to change setting but how???

When I try to read an internet document in PDF or another format it tries to read it in Media Player and then says it's not possible. This means I cannot access information I need. I looked at every Menu I can, including Help and cannot change this setting. Please help me, I've obviously inadvertently chosen this option and now can't unchoose it. Please help me, it's very frustrating!!

Thank you. Actually I stumbled across that solution myself last night, really not having a clue but browsing through all the drop down menus and did what you said. The only option that seems to work is if I use Internet Explorer. Haven't downloaded any documents yet, but hopefully it will work next time.

Perfect iframe size for widescreen media player

hey folks,
I have been mucking about with varied success with the size of my media player. The files are 384x 216. But when I make my iframe that size. It's tiny. So, is there a perect sized iframe snippet for a widescreen player? Or should I keep playing around to find the right one?
At the moment my player is too big and looks a little pixelated. But it's working, so i don't want to muck around too much. Cause I may not be able to make it work again: )

There is no perfect iframe size. The size of an iframe depends on what you want to display within a webpage.
You decide what the width and height should be.

Error setting as default media player

Earlier today I tried to set iTunes as my default media player. When I clicked "set as default" it said back to me, "An error occured while updating the default player for audio file types. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation." I don't get it, how do I not have enough access privileges when I'm the computers Admin.

Using Start,Programs,set programs access and defaults,Custom, select iTunes as default media player will not work. Using iTune, Edit, Preferences,Advanced, General will do work either, Get error message "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."

HELP Audio problem when setting windows volume at max and media player at max

im using msi eclipse x58
whenever i set my windows volume at max and media player at max also, after few seconds it suddenly not hearing audio but my media player is still playing
on other applications like skype wenever i set windows volume at max and after few seconds of voice chat with my friend the error says audio device disconnected.
On game applications while playing game same thing happens audio is gone
it is really stressful can someone pls help me out thanks

Can't set Quicktime as default media player

I have Quicktime Pro 7.1.3 on Windows XP Pro (SP2)
When I insert a DVD movie to play...the dialogue box for me to choose an application only has Windows Media Player. I can use Quicktime to watch the movie. Also, I can't even set Quicktime as my default media player under "Start->Set Program Access and Defaults->Custom"
There isn't an option for me to set Quicktime as my default player anywhere. I've tried setting the preferences in Quicktime to recognize those file types but still nothing. I know that Quicktime is installed correctly because I can use it to watch .mov files and watch Quicktime content on the web.
Any suggestions as to how I can get Quicktime to be my default media player or watch a movie using QT?

QuickTime Player is not licensed for MPEG-2 playback (the format found on DVD's). It will never be able to view "Hollywood" DVD's because those contain CSS (encryption).

My CD track titles no longer show up on Windows Media Player; just Track 1, Track 2, etc. Is there a setting to correct this?

No matter which CD I play on my computer (using Windows Media Player), the title shows "Unknown Album", and each track is listed a s Track 1, 2, etc. instead of showing the song title. When I click on "Find album info", a message pops up saying "You must change your privacy settings in Tools, Options, to update information about the audio media you have selected". I don't see anything in the Privacy tab that has to do with audio media. All of this began when I changed to Firefox. I'm using Version 3.6.12

The Tools|Options it is talking about are those listed in WMP not FF.

How to set mw600 as stereo bluetooth headset in HP pavilion dv6 and control media player?

i have mw600 and it works great when paired with my satio. i was able to pair it with my HP pavilion dv6 64-bit windows 7 home premium but the audio quality is mono and not stereo. i tried installing lenovo and broadcom bluetooth drivers like i read in the website but still didn't fix the problem. i also cannot control the media player and itunes through my mw600. can anyone help me with this please?

HPdc7900 Win7 x64 with lenovo BT driver package (from Web) works for me on MV600
although it did not said stereo (like before in WinXP) there are two distinct L/R channels
Try some movies with strong L/R channel signatures .. hope it works for you

Spry menu bar hidden behind embedded windows media player in IE but Not Firefox

Hi ppl.. My spry menu bar submenus are hidden below my embedded windows media player when I go over the menu. Is there anything I can do to solve this. This doesn't happen in Firefox.(The submenu appear on top of the embedded player) Pls help.. Thank you!
