  • Merge multiple cells and rows

    Hello,
I am trying to merge multiple cells and have found that I can do thi easily by selecting the adjancent row cells and using the TABLE - MERGE CELLS command.  However, If I want to apply the same merge to multiple rows, I can find noquick way to do this other than selecting each set of cells and using the TABLE - MERGE CELLS command each time.  Here is an example of what I want to do:
Here is the Numbers spreadsheet as normal:
Here is cell B2 and C2 merged:
Now what I want to do is the same process for rows 3 to 10.  However, when I try to select the section and use the TABLE - MERGE CELLS command, I get on large cell rather than split rows of merged cells as seen below:
Any idea how I can or if I can accomplish this task?
    Thanks in advance,
    OriginalGumshoe

You may also use this script :
    --{code}
    --[SCRIPT merge_row_by_row]
    --=====
    L’aide du Finder explique:
    --=====
Save the script as a Script: merge_row_by_row.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
Select the range of cells to treat
Go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “merge_row_by_row”
The script merge the cells of every row included in the selection.
    --=====
    The Finder’s Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the “Show Script Menu in menu bar” checkbox.
    Under 10.6.x,
go to the General panel of AppleScript Editor’s Preferences dialog box
and check the “Show Script menu in menu bar” option.

  • Merge multiple Cells in Numbers Spreadsheet

I've imported an excel spreadsheet from my laptop into the numbers App on my iPad. I've hidden a number of columns in the spreadsheet and am now trying to merge cells in a row which starts in column A and ends in column AC, I've followed the instructions in the Help menu but the merge option doesn't appear, is this a restriction of the App or am I doing something wrong? This works fine when I do it in excel on the laptop.

  • Multiple Cell Selection Scaling Factor Issue within BEX

We have a report which we need to create views from where each view is simply a different scaling factor within 20 rows of a 50 row query.
Within WEB reporting, you can simply select all the cells you want, and then select the proper scaling via the context menu.
When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
So...is this a bug?  ...and/or how can we selectively change the scaling for multiple cells within BEX?
You can of course selectively choose which figures should have a specific scaling, but we need views saved and not queries for this....and to my knowledge you can't save views out of query designer.
    any thoughts?

When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
are you trying to do this with cell references or are you doing it for the entire row/ column ?
you can create cell refernces for the cells that require differenr scaling factor in the query designer and then using cell properties you can define a scaling factor of your choice.
To create a cell refence simply double click that cell OR right click>create new cell refernce.
then you will be able to see cell properties where you can define desired properties.
    Hope this helps you.

  • HT201269 how do I merge multiple duplicate contact entries with cell home and e-mail entries

how do I merge multiple duplicate contact entries with cell home and e-mail entries?

    Try linking cards:
Open any contact you want to merge, tap on Edit and look at the bottom part of it.  You'll find 'Link Cards' and from there you may select the contact you want to link with the one you're looking at. So if you have:
    Contact 1: John A (job)
Contact 2:  Business Name (who is also John A but you saved it as a different contact)
Contact 3: Something else that's also John A
You can link all three cards into one.  If you choose to, you may unlink them at any time, just tap Edit and then the red circle. Your contacts won't be deleted, but they won't appear under the same ID anymore.

  • What is difference between bex analyser and bex browser

what is difference between bex analyser and bex browser . please explain what are use of both and what we do in both.

    hi
    Bex Browser
The Business Explorer Browser (BEx Browser) makes it possible for you to access all document types of the Business Information Warehouse that are assigned to your role or that you have stored in your favorites. You can select and open documents assigned to you in the BEx Browser or store and manage new documents in the BEx Browser.
Document types that you can work with in the BEx Browser are:
    · BW workbooks
    · Documents that are stored in the Business Document Service (BDS)
    · Links (references to file system, shortcuts)
    · Links to internet sites (URLs)
    · SAP transaction calls.
    · Web applications and Web templates
    · Crystal Reports
    Bex Analyser
The Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) is the analysis and reporting tool of the Business Explorer that is embedded in Microsoft Excel.
    Features
You can call up the BEx Query Designer in the BEx Analyzer, in order to define queries. Subsequently, you can analyze the selected InfoProvider data by navigation to the query created in the Query Designer and create different query views of the data. You can add the different query views for a query or for different queries to a work book and save them there. You can save the workbook in your favorites or in your role on the BW Server. You can also save the workbook locally on your computer.
Beyond that, you can precalculate the workbook and distribute it by e-mail to recipeients or you can export it to the Enterprise Portal and make it accessible to other employees in the company.
You can start queries in a standard view (with a Standard Web Template set up in Customizing) in the Web browser and forward the URL or continue to navigate on the Web. Similarly, you can export the Web query to MS Excel 2000.
Overview of the Functional Area of the BEx Analyzer:
    ·        BEx toolbar
You access the functions of the BEx Analyzer from the BEx toolbar, which takes you to the BEx Open dialog box where you can open existing queries, or to the BEx Query Designer where you can create new queries or change existing queries.
    ·        Evaluating Query Data
The BEx Analyzer offers convenient functions for evaluating and presenting InfoProvider data interactively. In the BEx Analyzer, you can add queries to workbooks, navigate within them and refresh the data. You can also process the queries further in Microsoft Excel or display them in the Web browser in a default view.
Navigation of a query allows you, for example, to filter characteristics on a single value, drilldown on all values for a characteristic, regroup characteristics and key figures in the rows and columns of the results area, or hide key figures. Navigation results in different views of the InfoProvider data. In addition, a range of further functions is available which allow you to edit a query interactively (for example, sorting, cumulated output, among others). In addition, you can use the editing functions in Microsoft Excel in order to set up individual format templates, to print results areas, or to create graphics.
    ·        Queries in Workbooks
Queries are inserted into workbooks so you can display them. When you insert a query, a link is made between the cell areas of the worksheet and the data of the InfoProvider upon which the query is based. A link therefore exists between the Business Explorer and the Business Information Warehouse Server (BW Server).
When inserting a query into the workbook, a VBA routine is automatically generated in the workbook. You can also connect the Business Explorer with your own VBA programs (Visual Basic for Applications).
You can create workbook templates, into which you can insert your queries. Workbook templates can contain pre-determined items for the area of the query, formatting settings, logos, VBA macros, and so on.
    ·        Precalculating workbooks
You can precalculate and distribute workbooks with the BEx Broadcaster, which is a Web application you get to form the BEx toolbar. The system generates MS Excel workbooks with historical data. You determine the time for precalculation yourself: You can have workbooks precalculated at a predefined time or they can be precalculated whenever data in the underlying InfoProvider changes. You can have the precalculated workbooks sent by e-mail or you can export them into the Enterprise Portal, where you can make them available to employees within your company.
    Activities
To start the BEx Analyzer, choose Start ® Programs ® SAP Front-end Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Business Explorer Analyzer.
You can also access the BEx Analyzer via SAP Easy Access ® SAP Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Menu ® Business Explorer ® Analyzer or in the Business Explorer Browser using the Business Explorer Analyzer symbol in the menu bar.
Hope this will solve your issu

  • BI-IP - Bex Analyser - select excel single row and aplly planning function

    Hi experts,
In BI-IP (BW 7) with Bex Analyser, is it possible to select a single excel row (or a range of rows) and then apply a planning function? I know that in WAD it's possible with the binding option to select a single web item.
The purpose is to apply a revaluation factor to selected (by the user) cost elements rows in the workbook.
    Thanks and regards,
    MA

    Hi
It is possibel in WAD to select one or many rows while executing Functions such as--Reposting; Revaluation etc.
However, you should be in a position to select the rows based on....unique identifier such as Require ID; Request #; Serial #; ....this is more so in case of multiple entries for the same cost element for different combinations.
    Regards
    Srinivas

  • IP - Various problems with BEX Analyser - help would be nice

    Hi,
we use IP in combination with BEX analyser. We experience certain problems. Does anyone experienced the same issues mentioned below:
    1) if a planning function is executed, it is executed twice when your cursor is within the query itself. If it is outside the query when clicking on the button, it is executed once (like it should).
    2) Locking: we don't have locking problems, but from the moment two people lock each other once, they need to close their analyser and re-open it (so logon again) in order to be able to start planning again in a non-locked part. If they just change their selection (to the not-lock part) they remain locked!!!
    3) planning function with multiple variables: system cannot retrieve values of all variables.
    details of function:
    CMD                                               1       EXECUTE_PLANNING_FUNCTION
    PLANNING FUNCTION NAME           1      AG10_COPY01
    DATA PROVIDER_FILTER                 1     DATA_PROVIDER_1
    VAR_NAME                                     1       PROF_CTR
    VAR_VALUE                                    1       510
    VAR_NAME                                     2     PERIOD
    VAR_VALUE                                    2        012
    VAR_NAME                                     3       CUSTOMER
    VAR_VALUE                                    3     1000
-> following the instruction of the SAP course, in case of multiplle variables they should start from 0 and have an incremental increase. But the system only recognizes the variable with index = 1
    regards
    D

    Dear Dries,
could it be that the variable type you use require a different set of commands?
In general the parameters of the BEx Analyzer follow the rules of the SAp BW 3.5 Webruntime. When reading this detailed documentation you find that depending on the type of variable other names have to be used, e.g. when using a selection option variable you need something line varname_low, varname_high, ...
The documentation can be found in the online-help:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/07/ff413a3ace7022e10000000a11402f/content.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/07/ff413a3ace7022e10000000a11402f/content.htm</a>

  • Assign several classes to multiple cells in a table?

    Hello,
I've searched this forum and the Internet for hours, but haven't been able to find a solution for this very basic problem. I'm editing a large table with CSS class="basicTable" assigned to it. In my stylesheet there are two classes for cell properties:
num for cells that contain a number
alt for cells with an alternative background colour
I would now like to assign both classes to a group of cells <td class="num alt">...</td>, but not to  the complete table. Is there any way to do this other than editing each individual cell? When I select one cell, I can edit the CSS class in the Tag Inspector. When I select multiple cells, all I see in the Tag Insector is the CSS class for the whole table, not for the cells I have selected.
I am editing several large tables each with up to 10 columns and 20 rows, some cells of which are merged. It is really time-consuming to go through each cell individually.
Has anybody ever encountered this issue?

  • Replacing # with blank space in Bex Analyser

    Hi All,
Can any one help me out in replacing # values in Bex analyser with blank space.
    I tried with the macro:
Sub SAPBEXonRefresh(queryID As String, resultArea As Range)
' First Query in the workbook
    If queryID = "SAPBEXq0001" Then
' Selects the area where the report query is rendered
    resultArea.Select
    'Replace "" with 0
    Selection.Cells.Replace What:="", Replacement:="0", LookAt:=xlWhole, _ SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, MatchByte:=True
    End If
    End Sub
Means I have include the macro to the Excel, but still it is not working.
If this macro is the correct solution, then may be I am not using it properly(in the sense I'm not calling with proper syntax).
Please provide me with the solutiuon to get rid of this problem.

    Hi,
    We are using BEX 7.0.
I got a macro code which is working. The code is as follows.
    Dim resultArea As Range
    Set resultArea = varname(1)
    Dim c As Range
    For Each c In resultArea.Cells
    If c.Value = "#" Then c.Value = " "
    Next c
This works fine but the problem is that this macro code should be added each and every time when the query is run.
Can any one suggest me where the code can be added in Bex Analyzer itself, so that when the query is run the above macro runs along with it and removes the #.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Geetha.

  • Spreadsheet output from reports posting to multiple cells instead of one

Hi all, using Report Builder 10.1.2.2.0
    ORACLE Server Release 10.1.0.5.0.
I have a report that creates its output as an excel file using desformat=spreadsheet. The problem I am having is with fields that contain a large amount of text with formatting characters in them. In particular, carriage returns. When this data is created in excel, it treats the carriage return as a new cell, so instead of putting all the data for that column into one cell, it creates a number of cells and merges them all together.
Is there anyway to get around this? I know excel can support line breaks within a cell, is it a limitation of oracle reports to be unable to duplicate this output?

For what it's worth, that's the way I read that line in the User Guide as well. What it actually appears to mean, though is 'Rules applied to multiple cells apply independently to each of the cells."
Here's a workaround for your three adjacent columns. Long, but fairly simple steps.
Add a second table to the sheet (Table 2).
Resize the second table to one column wide and as many rows as you want to apply the conditional format to.
Set the width of the column to the same width as the three columns you want to highlight, and the row height(s) to match the rows.
Format to table to have NO Header or Footer row or column.
Use the Wrap Inspector to uncheck "Object causes wrap"
In the first top cell of Table 2, enter an = sign, then Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, Click on the first cell that will hold YES or NO.
Fill the formula down the rest of Table 2.
With all cells in Table 2 selected, use the Cell Format inspector to set the 'text contains yes' rule and the conditional fill colour for these cells.
Test the conditional formating by introducing values into Table 1.
Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, then use the Table inspector to set Cell Fill to 'none'.
Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then drag that table onto table 1 aligning it to cover the cells in which the conditional formating is to appear.
When positioned (and still selected), go to the Arrange menu and Send Backward to move Table 2 behind the (transparent) cells in Table 1.
With Table 2 still selected, click on the Cell Borders color well and set the Opacity of the borders to 0%.
Click the Text inspector and set the Text colour Opacity for Table 2 to 0%.

  • Commands (interface) for BEx Analyser

    Hi Gurus,
has anyone a complete documentation or has detailed information about the functionality that can be used Excel/BEx Analyser (e.g. with buttons)?
    Example:
With button commands you can set variables or set the input mode of a query:
    CMD  1  SET_INPUT_MODE
    SET_INPUT_MODE  1  ACTIVE
Any info about the command interface of the BEx Analyser is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Leo

The problem is solved for greek letter by adding a system variable sap_codepage - 1704. But only one entry can be maitained for this variable. And the report still cannot identify Russian characters.
Is there any way to solve this problem for BEX 3.X for all multiple languages?
