Hi All,
I hav a scenrio where i have to merger 'n' no of files into a single file and push it to some location on the FTP.

Each of the Source file contains different Message Type from other files. All these files are on local drive.
Can any one help me out in this regard? Any help wud b highly appreciated.

First of all,thanx a lot for ur answers.
1) I dont wanna use BPM coz it doesn't make sense to create N different messages types and put it in a fork.
2) Even though I go for a BPM, i can't acheive this as i dont have any common field among all the message type which ensures the Correlation.
These are just text files which have to be merged in the same order of their creation. we dont need any mapping r any other XI functionality. I just wanna create something like a batch process in XI which merges all the files and moves to a particular location. I hav to do this in XI as i can monitor the whole scenario end to end with in XI.
Any suggestion guys?

Different files using variable substitution

Hi,
I've one scenario in which I'll be getting information like below
Cust_Data      1..1
VKORG          0..unbounded
     KUNNR      1..1
     NAME1      0..1
     LAND1      0..1
now I am supposed to create various files containing customer data containing kunnr, name1, land1 only for each of VKORG
I've tried using variable substittuion, in which i've given follwing information
File Name Scheme : Customer_for_%vkorg%.txt
Variable name                    Reference
vkorg                                  payload:Cust_Data,1,VKORG,1
but by providing this information, I am getting only one file having all the customer records.
So My question is:
1. How do I create different files for each of different VKORG
2. How do I place customer data only pertaining to that VKORG only.

Problem in merging two files using BPM

Hello Frens,
I am doing a scenario for merging of two files N:1 using BPMu2026
I have to merge two files into one file. The two input files are as below :
File1 : Id, Name, Age, Place
File2 : ID, Street, Adrress
And output File is : ID, Name, Age,place, street, Address
For this scenario I have defined three datatypes , message types and the message interfaces as below :
For File1: Mi_file1_ob, Mi_file1_abs
For File2: Mi_file2_ob, Mi_file2_abs
For output : mi_output_ib, mi_ouput_abs
In interface mapping I have selected two source interface and one targetu2026
For Integration process I have selected two receives as two branches of fork and transformation to collect them and a send..
In IR part I have defined three communication channels sender1, sender2 and a receiver . I have imported the integration from IP and rest is sameu2026
I am facing a problem for getting the outputu2026
When I checked in sxmb_moni everything is fine and sxi_cache and the return code is also 0 but I am not getting the outputu2026
Can anyone help me in finding out the problem..

Getting NULLPointerException while merging pdf files using PDFDocMerger

I am using BI Publisher 11.1.1.7 Version Jar Files to use PDFDocMerger Class in Jdeveloper and my requirement is,
need to merge pdf files taking from the third party server.So, I am passing url as an input to PDFDocMerger(As per BIP documentation we can pass url as an input to PDFDocMerger using Object Class) but I am getting NULLPointerException.

One of the merged PDF was edited by using the "Adobe Lifecycle Assembler" tool and i was able to open that file successfully in my machine.
Is bi publisher API compatible with such files?

Cant merge data files using adobe acrobat 9 pro extended

I have created a form using Adobe Live cycle and it has a e-mail submit button i.e. the form is converted to XML document. Now, when I try to merge the XML files into one spreadsheet using Adobe 9 pro extended, nothing is coming in the report file (CSV file) except the names of all XML files I wanted to merge. But when I do the same excercise in another computer using the same XML files and using Adobe Professional 7.3, the report file is generated perfectly. Please help me so that I can use Adobe 9 pro extended.

i'm not sure if your license for the extended version will work with the non-extended version but, give it a try.

Sending log data to two different files using log4j

Hi,
Can some one please help me with my problem I have here?
I want to send log data to two diffrent files depending on the logging level such as DEBUG and WARN.
How can you configure this in log4j.properties.
Please post sample code for log4j.properties to achieve this.

Hi,
Finally, I found the solution to this problem my self.
What you need to do is define two loggers in the application, and set two priority levels to these loggers and define two out put files to these loggers. Deploy the war file, restart application server and you are good to go.
This seems to be working for me. Only glitch I found is, the out put in
the second file is displaying one space character at the start of line starting from second line (First line don't have this problem). This is odd. It may be because of my faulty code. Any how thanks for you all.

That is a feature of Acrobat Pro which is not free.

Issue with BPM-Merging 2 files.

I am facing one issue with my development object...it is a BPM scenario in which i am merging 2 files using constant correlation id...JDBC to File scenario...i am using 2 JDBC adapters at source side...the scenario is getting executed without any error and i am getting the output...but the output contain only the data in 1 file...merging is not happening and only one file data is displayed in the output...could someone help me with this issue???am i missing something here??any help will be really appreciated...

As informed in my earlier post the same scenario was working with File adapters at source side.I figured out why it was working earlier.
Since i have generated the source files for the File adpaters i have added the name space as displayed in the mapping(highlighted in bold letters).

Reader can do very few things besides being a reader. If you wanna merge PDF files, use a PDF merger.

Upload multiple files using lsmw

I have to upload 2 different files using lsmw..
Please explain me the procedure..
I made the option as sequential file in specified files..
but i am getting error.. Using different sequential files is not allowed...

is der some problem or just u need clarification?
When I import the data everything seems fine... 52 entries from file 1, and 682 entries from file 2.
In my "Fieldmapping and conversion rules" i have a statement like this:
read table FILE2 with key oldsls = FILE1-lgart.
My problem is that FILE2 is empty, even that I saw in my import screen that 682 entries was imported.
in one statement, you are saying ki it seems fine then u r saying that ur file 2 is empty. HOW CAN U UPLOAD DATA FROM AN EMPTY FILE ?
and we don't don anything in field mappng until unless v don't use complex stuctures while uploading data. LSMW takes care of everything by itself.

You can do this on the desktop using the Acrobat SDK as a custom plugin.
You can do this on a server with Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator.

Multiple files in different directory using single FILE adaptor

Hi Guys,
How can we handle multiple files having different format(PDF,TXT,EXCEL) and in different directory with the single FILE adaptor.
I know by using "." we ca get mutilple files, but here tthe files are of different format and in different directory.
Could you please explain as to how we can handle this scenarios?

Hi,
The short answer is - "No".
The Long Question - "Why do you want to use a SINGLE channel".
If your idea is to reuse the interface then dont worry... Except for the Senderchannel and Sender agreement all your other objects can be reused ...provided your sender apter converts the different files into the same XML format..
For TXT you can use the simple file adpater..
For excel see if you can use save the file as .CSV format...then you can use it directlky by the simple FIle adapter..
For PDF use conversion agent... Here a blog to get u started on that ->
