Sometimes in the series of problems n late night stays to fix issues, we forget the basic things in life....enjoyment!!
Humor in uniform:
I once worked for a client for whom we implemented a HR module. They had all stone age systems for backups, n the SAP backup would not come in one tape! So the client asked us.....since we are not using FI/CO, SD, MM..etc and only using HR, cant we only take a HR backup of SAP to get the backup in one tape ?

Hi, I am the lucky receiver of a new MacBook Aluminum (13") but with one issue. It has a French keyboard. Does anyone know if it is possible (and how) to change it to an English keyboard.

ITUNES WONT OPEN! HELP!

OK, so I installed iTunes, Quicktime, etc, and I plugged in my new iPod Nano but it said something was wrong with iTunes, so i uninstalled it, and then reinstalled it, still wouldn't work. Tried different USB ports, etc. Still wouldn't work. So, I restored my computer, and then installed iTunes again, and now this message is appearing: "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
This message is appearing as soon as I click iTunes. I've sent the error report a few times, but nothing's happened. I've also restarted my computer several times, reinstalled iTunes several times, but still no luck. Please help, because I just got the iPod Nano today for Christmas, and I'm disappointed that I cant use it!! Thank you for everyone who replies. =)

Where are ya'll installing itunes from? The website or from a disk that comes with your ipods? I just downloaded itunes an hour or so ago from the website and had no issues...but only thing I can suggest is to be careful how often you unistall and install the program cause that will mess your computer up too...good luck!!! Macbook Pro running extremely slow

While still on Mavericks my Macbook Pro 13 mid 2010 (2.4 Intel core 2 duo) sporadically began running extremely slow functions, even the mouse cursor moved in jolts and steps, to type a word in google search engine I had to wait a few seconds after being typed for the word to appear on screen. The internal speaker volume responds 10 seconds after tapping the buttons on the keyboard. Videos are unplayable in netflix and other sites because picture freezes and runs in jolts and steps. Its Not the internet connection or the streaming.
I upgraded to Yosemite to see if this would fix the problem, I upgraded the darned adobe flashplayer believing maybe I needed the latest software available for my programs for the computer to run smoothly. I upgraded the RAM to 8GB from 4GB and did not fix the problem. I have more than half of the 500GB hard drive with free space. I'm getting a Java Runtime Environment download prompt to view properly something every time I boot the computer. The "slowness" comes and goes. But it gets more frequent and worse each day. I can't work. Could it be some type of malware that makes the computer slow? I can't identify a specific malware to address and remove. Could it be that the fan isn't working properly and runs slow when its too hot?? Please HeLP!!

Restoring from TimeMachine

Hi there,
I made a mistake and all of my archived mails are "gone". I don't have them in iCloud anymor, nore on my MacBook. BUT, it seems the mail file can be restored from my last TimeMachine backup. The only question is : WHERE IS IT ? What's its name ?

1. Open Mail.
2. With the external disk connected, open Time Machine, navigate through your backups and choose Restore to restore your mails from this backup

Lightroom versus PhotoShop Elements Organizer and Bridge

I hope someone of the Developer team is reading this!!
For my understanding the three products out of one house (PhotoShop Elements Organizer, Bridge and Lightroom) doing about the same, should ...
work the same (same idea, same behaviour, organizing by path/subfolders instead of cataloges etc.)
maintain the same database and files (LR should recognize the collections from BR and Vice Versa, use the same cache files etc.) and should
be compatible to each other (e.g. Tags, Collections etc)
Actually I suggest ADOBE
to eliminate Organizer and integrate the good functions into BRIDGE (e.g. albums, upload to flickr, webpage generation etc)
give BRIDGE as the free of charge picture organizer to PS Elements and to PS CS
change LIGHTROOM into an payable upgrade of BRIDGE with enhanced functionality of the free of charge BRIDGE, (which can work as a stand-alone software as it does today
better integration of PSE, PS CS into Bridge/Lightroom (e.g. Panaorama function opens only PS CS but the version of PSE works much better, so I want to choose in the menu of Bridge/Lightroom)
I am really struggling with the three of them.
Beside that I suggest to get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom with it's import/export and synchronization needs and instead use or at least integrate the idea of BRIDGE to get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders, as this is anyhow how the way pictures are stored already for most of us... I asume. I doubt that anybody just throw all files into one big subdirectory and get the organized into cataloges. But please keep collections as they are helpful to quickly collect some pictures to commonly work on them. by drag & drop. The Catalogues of LR drives me crazy but LR have a lot of nice functions (e.g. Webupload interfaces to flickr and others, nice noice reduction, nice albums and webpage functions, etc.)

Whereas Bridge and Photoshop Elements (and most non-LR users) base their organisation on the file / folder structure, Lightroom uses files / folders simply for storage - the catalog is used for organisation. This 'catalog based approach' provides far more flexibility, both in organisation, and in recording a complete, fully-reversible record of all edits made to each photograph.
To suggest that Adobe "get rid of the Catalog idea of Lightroom" and "get pictures structured and organized by path and subfolders" would remove almost ALL advantages Lightroom has over Bridge & PS Elements combined. To fully appreciate Lightroom, you need to appreciate that files and folders are not the only way to organise photos. Why not watch a few of the Adobe Lightroom Tutorial videos? AppleTV 2G Color Gradient Issue

Hey there.
I just bought an AppleTV hooked it up to my TV via HMDI (how else…) and I have a strange kind of issue. Gradients look like they were taken from a gif... or something running 8bit/16bit color depth.
I have a 2-3years old Grundig Lenaro 32. Tried both of its HDMI ports. Neither seems to work correctly. I yet have to check it on another TV-set, but I doubt that it is an issue with the AppleTV or the HDMI cable.
My AppleTV runs the latest Firmware... and I also checked about every setting my TV has to offer.
Has anyone ever had a similiar issue or seen something like this. Any suggestions as to what causes the problem? I mean, HDMI being digitial shouldn't have signal issues or something like that.

Televisions have become commodities and it is difficult to learn much about their details. The manufacturers deliberately make it hard to learn more than the basic specifications, which are often nothing more than a list of features and the number of inputs and outputs. I bought a new Sony when I bought the Apple TV, but even Sony says little about what happens inside the television after you connect the inputs:

Grundig is doing the same as Sony so it is unlikely that any television manufacturer would do more.

And a partition in a pear tree...format question

Well, I've spent almost an hour of my life I won't get back. Trying to archive an iDVD project (33gb) from internal hard drive to new Lacie 160g external. Keep getting "Error in archiving project" message. Even though I was able to copy some large folders onto the drive, with no problem, iDVD doesn't like that the drive is apparently formatted to FAT. I assume. Whatever. Okay, I'll play: I'm ready to reformat the drive. Understand HOW....but that's not the question....
"You can choose up to eight partitions." Okay, Eight. How about seven? Why not 1,000? How do I, as the APPLE tech support docs says, "choose the number of partitions I want" if I don't have a clue as to why I am choosing them. I figured two would be good enough. So, any help would be appreciated (I've copied the files back over to what's left of the hard drive so I can format now with impunity. I hope this solves the "you can't get there from here after spending more time and money" message. All I want to do is archive the files so I can get 155gb of the 160gb hard drive back. And understand "choose the number of partitions you want" and run the disk utility instruction.

What you need to do is partition the drive in Mac OS extended for it to work with iDVD6.
Go to applications>Utilities>Apple's DU
