Message connected to a cell from an editable alv

hi,
is it possible to connect a message (via message manager) with the changed cell in an editable alv? I mean the changed cell should be marked with an "*" for example.
I am working with the ON_CELL_ACTION event with my alv.

Yes you can,
If you have access to the element in the context that is bound to the row in the ALV then you can connect the message. Marking a * is not possible by default with the WD message manager and you willl need to do it manually. Use the element method of the message manager API for this purpose.

Mark several cells in an editable ALV

Hello,
is there a possibility to mark several cells in an editable ALV at once?
So that the User can enter the same value in several cells at the same time?
I use the component SALV_WD_TABLE.
Does anyone know if such a feature exists or may be implemented in future?

I took the code above from the turorial "Editing ALV in WD4a" and I found following sentence:
Hint: In this tutorial the save functionality is only simulated to not change the flight data model content.
Now is the question, how to do a NON-simulated save functionality??

How to disable the cell from being edited

how to make a column in a jtable ineditable .i.e when i click on a column in a table the cell is highlighted and the caret is show .
due to this i am unable to use the double click on the left button coz as soon as i click once the left button the cell becomes editable and the caret appears.

That's no problem if you're using DefaultTreeModel, you just rewrite the isCellEditable(col,row) function.
For example here, you can only edit cells of the first column (but you can test each cell separately if you really want ;-) ):

Handle deletion in an editable alv

Hi,
I have an editable alv . When I delete a record from this editable alv , I also want to delete it from the corresponding database .
Please could someone tell me how we can capture the particular record selected for deletion in this editable alv .

Assuming that you can only delete entire rows but not modify rows (editable cells) you could use a simple approach by storing a PBO image of your data.
For a sample report have a look at report ZUS_SDN_ALV_EDITABLE_1A in Issue with CHECK_CHANGED_DATA method of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID class
By comparing GT_OUTTAB_PBO and GT_OUTTAB (PAI data) you can simply find out the deleted records.
Alternatively, you may use a more sophisticated approach:

This approach will also be helpful if the ALV rows can be modified because in this case you have to find out the MODIFIED rows.

I had one similar problem where user enter something into the editable cell and press enter. to handle this scenario i used WDDOBEFOREACTION method of my view to call alv interface method check_data.
if there is any change in the any table cell, it will fire an event on_data_check..which has paramater column name, row index and new and old value of the cell.
you can handle this event and write your business logic in event handler method.

I am having difficulty getting ODBC connection between Oracle OWB app with an 11gR2 DB (running on a VirtualBox Linux) and SQL Server 2008 running directly on the host. (Windows 8)
I am trying to take a SQL Server 2008 feed into Oracle Ware house Builder, and think(!) I have read everything and configured it in accordance (but I presume not given 3 days of failed attempts to fix it). I have also read several blogs, hence there might be a few more settings in the configuration files than the formal documentation says, but these have come from blogs that have “Solved” problems for other similar situations.

Let us rewrite your ODBC DSN a little bit... Your current odbc.ini looks like:

Especially the last 2 parameters are mandatory. TDS_Version specifies the TDS Version you have to use to connect to the SQL Server and QuotedID is required for DG4ODBC as it surrounds objevt names by double quotes.
What happens now when you try to connect with for example isql - the ODBC test utility shipped with the ODBC Driver manager?
In addition, could you please do me another favour and check the word size of DG4ODBC and the ODBC Driver Manager as well as the ODBC Driver - just execute:

AirPlay isn't anything to do with homesharing. (Home sharing lets you share the iTunes libraries on computers)
Basic AirPlay: Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
Mirroring: When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Restart your mobile device.

I want to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition. So what drivers are required and how to do connectivity?

I wasn't clear on what you were using to make the connection. I had a look in Visual Studio 2010 (don't have express to test sorry).
I think you mean the Data Sources available under the menu Data-> Datasources. this seems to match the description you give when I
look at the list of datasource options.
In here you can make ODBC connections via the Microsoft .net Data Provider .
If you select ODBC as a datasource you can see listed the DSN's you created - for example I see 2 which use the Oracle ODBC driver.
This assumes you installed an Oracle Client + the oracle version of the ODBC driver (comes with the oracle client).
Once you created a server connection then you should see it in the server explorer.
You can also download the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio which is an add on for VS.
** I suspect this is only for VS 2010 and I didn't see that Express was supported.

Apparently when an Apple product is turned on it works. Period. I'm impressed that the products are normally so dependable--it just stinks that I got the one in a million that's not. I have lost the ability to upload files to a website. I have to transfer files from my computer to a web site and I get an error message "connection was reset" and the file will not upload. I try to transfer pictures and I get the same message.

I have to upload a scanned receipt to a website and I get the error message "connection was reset". I have uploaded these receipt for two years and last week I have had to use another browser to complete this operation. I connect to the website and do the report I must do, but I can no longer upload to this site.

Are you using any additional software for the uploading?
Try using Firefox in [[safe mode]] when you upload. There is no need to make changes when you see the option. Disable all plugins whilst in safe mode. Then try the uploads.
You mention [/questions/921993 elsethread] that it is a work site. Have you contacted your IT department. One possibility is that the site is not recognising Firefox 10.
(One temporary workaround and troubleshhooting test would be to install Firefox3.6.27 [http://portableapps.com/news/2012-02-01_-_firefox_portable_3.6.26_released portable] as an additional browser and try that.)
