Method as a WEB Service in an Application Service

Dear Colleaguaes,
When importing a web service method into a caf project, and exposing it as method into an application service, is it necessary to create an Entity Service as Web Service wrapper still?
I can check that a web service method works, it returns the data, but it returns nothing when I try to test the corresponding method in the application service.
I've also created a destination in Destination Template Management and done the external service to the destination configured mapping. But still without success....
Thank you in advance,

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your help.
Sorry i didn't specify before but I also have created Web Service Proxy from the URL of my Web Service into my web app. But now I don't now how to use the method that i created on my web service on to my web application.
To be more specific I don't know how to wire the two af:InputText with my web service method in the way when I click the submit button it past the info to web service and which has to return the Student ID :
Ex:
Name: af:InputText
LastName: af:InputText

  • Confirming method to secure web services through oracle web service manager

    Hi All,
    I am just wondering about the method to secure web service through oracle web service manager.
    I have a unsecure web service "helloworld" which is deployed on JWSDP1.6 toolkit.I want to secure it through oracle web service manager.
    Inorder to secure this unsecure web service,I use gateway(web service manager for securing web service using message level security through certificate).
    So when client want to access the helloworld service,it contacts the gateway securely and gateway intern connect to original web service after decrypting and verification of the signature.When gateway gets response from the web service,it signs the response message and then encrypt and passs on to the client.
    So my question is,is it the right way to secure web service?

  • How can i discover a method in a web service as scom object

    i have created a wcf service and i have different methods in that web service, i need to discover every method  using scom management pack and show that the data returned by those methods as scom data ,health state ,performance view etc.
    how can i get started with that.
    i have  powershell script to  get that data but how do i add them as classes and objects in the scom
    Thanks & Regards, Suresh Gaddam

    Hi,
    First of all you should think about which classes you need. If you are new to Management Pack Development you should enjoy the MP Development Video Series on Channel 9
    http://channel9.msdn.com/Series/System-Center-2012-R2-Operations-Manager-Management-Packs
    If you already have a script to get the information you need and have already designed you classes you can create a Powershell.Discovery.Script to discover the data to SCOM. Have a look on Modul 11 in the Video Series.
    Cheers,
    Christoph

  • SJSAS 8.2 secure and unsecure methods in one web service with ws-security

    Hi
    I'm trying to deploy a web-service (using SJSAS 8.2) using JAXRPC using message security (at the application level).
    I have one simple question:
    I have an EJB that exposes 2 methods as web-services, I specified in the sun-ejb-jar.xml that one of those methods is secure (and said nothing about the other) however when i run my test client I get a "WSS0202: No wsse:Security element in the message" error for both calls (instead of only for the secure call).
    Is this normal? Isn't it possible to have a normal (with no security headers) call to one method and another (with security headers and secure envelope) to another in the same webservice (from the same EJB)?.

    I wasn't clear?
    This is a big dev problem for a major Sun client.
    No one knows or wants to answer?

  • NoSuchMethodException calling a session bean method from a web service

    I am running on NetWeaver 6.40 SP10 on Windows.
    I have a Java class (not a SessionBean) exposed as a web service where I invoke a session bean method with an argument that is another Java class (basically, just a JavaBean with some getters and setters).  I am getting a strange reflection-related error when I invoke a session bean method.  The exception I see is a 'java.lang.reflect.UndeclaredThrowableException', and if I unwrap it with 'ex.getCause()', I see 'java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.xx.ejb.PersistentObjectSBObjectImpl0.createR3Config(com.xx.common.R3Config)'
    I have spent several days trying to come up with a testcase for this, but to no avail.  The calling class is:

    Sure, I can show them to you.  They are very similar to a couple of non-DC classes/projects I put together to try and duplicate the problem.
    First, the interface, PersistentObjectSB.java:
    package com.xx.ejb;
    import javax.ejb.EJBObject;
    import com.xx.common.R3Config;
    import java.rmi.RemoteException;
    public interface PersistentObjectSB extends EJBObject {

         public void updateR3Config(R3Config r3Config) throws RemoteException;
          * Business Method.
         public void createR3Config(R3Config r3Config) throws RemoteException;
    And the implementation, PersistentObjectSBBean.java:
    package com.xx.ejb;
    import java.util.*;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import com.xx.common.*;
    import com.xx.interfaces.*;

  • Insert or Update method - removed from Web Services v2.0?

    Was the "insert or update" method on standard objects taken out of Web Services v2.0 for a reason? Is there an equivalent of this functionality in Web Services v2.0?

    Hello,
    You can make use of the Execute method in WS 2.0 as an alternate, but if you are looking out for InsertOrUpdate Functionality u have to use WS 1.0.

  • How to create a generic method which invokes Web Service

    Hi I have a question how to create Web Service client. In design mode I can't specify static url ?WSDL and process.
    I found briliant method in apache cxf library.
    for example
    JaxWsDynamicClientFactory dcf = JaxWsDynamicClientFactory.newInstance();
    Client clientA = dcf.createClient("http://soabpm-vm:8001/soa-infra/services/default/MailSender/mailsender_client_ep?WSDL");
    Object[] resultA;
    try{
    resultA = clientA.invoke(new QName("http://xmlns.oracle.com/SynchDSBpel20/MailSender/MailSender", "process"), "@", "body", "topic");
    }catch (Exception e){}
    In my case I should create a method with params (urls ?WSDL, URI, operetion name, param1, praram2, param3)
    Is there anything like CXF in ADF library's?

    This can be very easily done using a web service proxy (Select web services from the categories and web service proxy from the items).
    In the "Create Web Service Proxy" wizard, make sure you select JAX-WS client style. JDeveloper will use the JAX-WS web service API and JAXB (Java Architecture for XML Binding) to generate all required classes and methods required to call a web services, binding Java method signatures to WSDL messages and operations.

  • Overload methods error in web services

    Hi Experts,
    We want to invoke a DotNet web service. The dotnet web service contains overload methods. When I try to invoke this web service from WSNavigator, it shows "WSDL Operation with name search is overloaded (defined twice). Operation overloading is not supported by proxy generator" error. How to solve this issue?
    Best Regards
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
    TO use overloaded methods u have to specify Message Name property.Find the example.
    Here method say() is overloaded
    [webMethod]
    public string say()
        return "hello";
    [web Method]
    public string say(string p_Name)
        return "Hello " + p_Name + "!";
    Adding the Message name property.
    [WebMethod]public string say()
        return "hello";
    [WebMethod (MessageName="WithOneString")]
    public string say(string p_Name)
        return "Hello" + p_Name + "!";

  • How to call Jive Search methods using REST Web Services from ADF

    Hi
    Can someone provide me an example to call JIVE Search using REST web services from Webcenter ADF.
    As we have the similar facility to call UCM Search from WebServices DataControl.
    Do we have anything similar like this for JIVE Search?
    JIVE 5.1 is deprecating SOAP style web services and so I am planning to use REST.
    Any suggestions on this is much appreciated.

    I have written one custom method inAppModuleImpl and include that custom method into the AppModule's Client Interface(AppModule-->Java-->ClientInterface).
    It autogenerates two java classes: ClientInterfaceImpl class and interface class. I right clicked on ClientInterfaceImpl class and select the option create webservice proxy. Then I deployed my application into the WL Server. There I am able to see the webservice. But when I test the webservice and invoke the method. It is throwing the below exception:
    HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error

    I'm using version 14.1.2002. I can create a webi report, but If I use a filter in this webi, a message WIS 30270 appears.

  • Document corrupted when sending file to drop off library using records repository submit file method (official file web service is used)

    I am trying to submit files to drop off library through a simple web application. I could see the documents submitted to drop off library but the contents in it have got corrupted.
    string recordRouting = "Test Original Document";
    using (Officialfilewebservice.RecordsRepository f = new officialfilewebservice.RecordsRepository())
                    string myFileName = @"D:\FileDrop\Testfile.txt";
                    string filename = Path.GetFileName(myFileName);
                    Byte[] inputbytearray = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(myFileName);
    string x = f.SubmitFile(inputbytearray, newArray, recordRouting, filename, Environment.UserDomainName + "\\" + Environment.UserName);
    the code for the "newArray" used as part of the SubmitFile method is below:
      string itemname = "abcdef";
      string serviceURL = "http://..........";
      string result = GetTaxonomyTerm(itemname, serviceURL)
      Dictionary<string, string> metadata = new Dictionary<string, String>();
      metadata.Add("TestDocumentType", "-1;#" + itemname + "|" + result);
             metadata.Add("ContentType", "Test Original Document");
             metadata.Add("TestRequestId", "9999");
             metadata.Add("TestProjectId", "8888");
                    f.Url = "http://../../../../OfficialFile.asmx";
                    f.UseDefaultCredentials = true;
                    foreach (var item in metadata)
                        Officialfilewebservice.RecordsRepositoryProperty prop = new Officialfilewebservice.RecordsRepositoryProperty();
                        prop.Name = item.Key;
                        prop.Value = item.Value;
                        prop.Type = "Text";
                        propertydetails.Add(prop);
                    Officialfilewebservice.RecordsRepositoryProperty[] newArray = propertydetails.ToArray();

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to upload files to drop off library.
    Here is a blog with the code sample for your reference:

  • SocketTimeoutException when calling a web service from a WD application

    I'm trying to call a method of a web service from my WD application. The execution of the method longs more than 60 sec, so I'm always getting:
    Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
    I've got this post, which tells to change the property "socketTimeout" of the client.
    Read Timed Out Error
    But I don't know what is the client in my WD application, does this refer to the logical port ?
    I've tried inserting this into wdInit:
    com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3Impl service = com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.H3WSModel.getServiceImpl();
    logicalPort =(com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3ViDocument) service.getLogicalPort("Config1Port_Document", com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3ViDocument.class);
    logicalPort._setProperty("socketTimeout", "30000");
    But it doesn't work.
    I've tried getting the logical port from the model object corresponding to the method of the webservice unsuccesfully.
    I've tried with Visual Administrator -> instance -> Web Service Container -> Settings -> WS Clients Socket Timeout, increasing to 120 secs. No result, still stop at 60s.
    I've tried with Visual Admin -> global configuration -> Http provider -> KeepAliveTimeout, increasing to 120 secs, and still stop at 60s.
    I can't change model object code, but I've tried to debug it and setting the property in stubForLogicalPort and in _getGlobalFeatureConfig(), without change.
    I'm using a HTTP Destination, does this have something to do?
    I'm getting insane with this and I'm in urgent need of help.
    How can I change the time the WD waits for the WebService to answer ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}
    Best regards.

  • Exception when trying to use web service login method

    Hi all,
    we've installed Discoverer, upgraded OAS to version 10.1.2 and installed the web service patch successfully. I can get the list of web service methods through

    We've also created a bipublisher user in oiddas, and got it's guid. When I try to use the login method of the web services I get this exception:

    Well... this is definitelly not a requirement.
    The code snippet came from the test (junit) for something which is much bigger. And of course the 1-char long table name has nothing to do with desing. At all.
    We have a system where a user defines (named) xml structures, so to say. The structures are then "translated" into DB entities. So the result DB schema is fully auto-generated. The system supports 4 different SQL dialects. Oracle is just one of them.
    Having restrictions like "name of a structure must be at least two characters" is no problem. But I still can`t believe Oracle has such a limitation. It does not sound logical (to me at least). And I had a hope may be someone has an explanation for that thing.
    The code above works just fine if I do not request certain columns back after the statement is executed. (e.g. without the second parameter).
    But anyway... I would post a bug for this, if I knew where to post it to :)
    Thanks.
