Missing FLV export in CC 2014?

Did you seriously just take away the ability for me to export FLVs? I'm at an independent production company that needs this format support in its daily workflow. Can you give it back? Is there a way to fix this? This upgrade is much better except for this one tiny BUT HUGELY IMPORTANT omission in formats. Why do you keep ruining my day?

It appears that the FLV format is being eliminated. First they stopped importing it, and then stopped exporting it.
I don't know why you need FLV, but perhaps it is time to look for another way to do what you need to do, or stick with Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2

Why remove .flv export from Premiere Pro CC 2014? And what's a good workaround?

OK, so you want to put it on your own web page. That's fine as long as you know how to create a web page.
The next thing you have to decide is how big do you want the video to appear on the web page. Many people just post on YouTube and then embed the video into their web page. That way, the video can take advantage of all of the various sizes that YouTube provides.
In any case, I suggest that you use H.264. But the data rate depends on the size of the file. If you are going to display it in HD, then you probably want to start at about 20Mb/s and go up or down from there. The required data rate depends on what you find acceptable, and that depends on the amount of movement in the video. For example, a talking head next to a white board explaining something requires a lot less bits to represent the image because less changes are taking place from frame to frame. If you use 10Mb/s for that, you might find 20Mb/s or more is required to make you happy if you shot a football game from the sidelines.
I generally use settings that look like this image. If you have any questions as to why I choose these settings, feel free to ask.

  • Has Premiere Pro 2014 dropped FLV export?

Or do I have a bug?
If it has been dropped (hey THANKS adobe) is there a workaround? I need to do this.
    Frank

It was actually dropped about a year ago in the 7.1 update.
    Can't import FLV files
That link actually says they dropped import but PR would still export flv.
Is flv export now gone from PR CC 2014?

  • I need to reinstall Media Encoder CC (previous version than the current) because i need flv export...Any advice ?

    Hi,
Some client of mine still needs to get flv videos for his website, and i've seen that Media Encoder CC 2014 doesn't have this option anymore.
Unfortunately i already uninstalled the previous version, any way to get it back ?
Or is there any plugin for the current version that allow flv export ?
Any help would be really appreciated, i need to deliver ... tomorrow :/
    Thanks a lot !

ame is downloaded and installed with flash, after effects and premiere pro.  install one of those cc versions and see if ame cc is also installed.

  • Upgraded to CS4 and now no FLV export plugin in Quicktime

When using CS3 Master Collection (on Mac 10.5.6) I could use Quicktime or Apple Compressor (uses QT) to export .mov files to .flv files. Then I upgraded to CS4 Master Collection and everything still worked. Then I got tired of having all the CS3 programs still on my computer so I used the CS3 disc to uninstall CS3. Later I noticed the Flash export within Quicktime was gone. So I put back CS3 install disc and just installed the Flash export components and then the .flv export was back on Quicktime. Though I solved the problem, shouldn't CS4 (upgrade) have that plugin as well? Did I do something wrong? Are other things going to be missing or go wrong since I uninstalled CS3? Let me know what you think. Thanks

Hi Todd, I bet you upgraded from a PPC machine.
The real problem here is that Flash 8 is/was not a universal binary (i.e. an app that is supported on both the PPC and the Intel Macs).
So the included "FLV Exporter" QuickTime component does not show up in the export dialog even if it's installed as it just does not get loaded.
    (Should be in "NameOfSystemHD/Library/QuickTime").
If you update to Flash 9/CS3 you get a universal binary app and QT exporter component and it will work again on your (Intel) Mac Pro.
Btw., the Flash support that was in QuickTime had nothing to do with export - especially not with FLV - but with playback of Flash content.
Addionally, AE 7 isn't a universal binary either, so you will suffer some pretty serious performance losses.
    Best regards, Oliver

  • Quicktime 7.1.3 not showing the Flash FLV Exporter option.

I have a macbook with FCP 5.1.2, Quicktime 7.1.3 and Flash Pro 8 installed.
The same as with my G5, but different release of FCP (FCP 4.5 HD in G5)
On my G5 all is fine. I see the FLV export plug in.
The problem is in my Macbook : I can't see the FLV export plug option in Quicktime (export) nor in FCP (file>export>via Qt conversion).
I've made the same installation process in both machines.
Perhaps a problem with the Flash 8 Professional installation on Intel Macs ?
    (That installation was well finished)
Anyway, I can encode with the FLV standalone encoder that comes with Flash 8 pro, but sometimes the plug in is a shortcut way to get a FLV file on the fly.
Could anyone help me to resolve that situation ?
Many thanks in advance. I always got a solution from you Guys!
    Daniel

    QuickTimeKirk, thanks for the reply.
Yes, I think as you that the problem is from FLV exporter from Flash 8. It is not Universal. I will not go backward with QT. I prefer to wait until the UB Flash 8 Pro see the light..... or Flash Pro 9 (for sure it will be Universal)
    Thanks again !

  • FLV Export from Media Encoder

Hi, When I export an FLV from ME, the clip does not play or starts and then stops on Vital Streams servers. I can take the same clip, export a movie as AVI, then bring it into ON2's Flix Pro (using the same codec as ME FLV export is based on) and generate a perfect FLV with the same settings. Has anyone tried to export an FLV and then upload to a streaming server? I use this for clients to review their projects if they are long distance. Thanks for any direction.

Higher the bitrate the better the quality and file size. So the way I've been trying to work it out is literally, how large can a video be per minute and then depending on how long the video is I try and get it down to a certain video bitrate.
For me audio is important as well and so I'm essentially setting the audio bitrate to 128k.
Yes, your video does not play for me either. Is this video encoded using PPro CS3?
Essentially, the FLV files are intended to be played back using the Flash/Flex video player, and they do. I'm new to the whole "Flash" world as such (I'm Primarily a software programmer and not a designer) and so I don't know much about third party player/tools like Flix Pro.
What I can offer to do for you is make you a host like the one I'm made that you can use within your own website. If you'd give me the deminsions of the videos you produce (for online viewing) I can make you a player (no cost). It'll be my way of paying back this forum. If you send me an flv encoded using PPro CS3 that'll be even better :)
If you're a grpahics person, you could also send me png images of buttons and the like and I'll incorporate them into the flv player.

  • Some Audio Missing from Exported Movie

I've exported a movie from iMovie to iTunes for sharing with AppleTV but the sound is missing from the last 75% of the movie when played back in Itunes or AppleTV. All the sound is ok in the iMovie project so some of it appears to have gone missing when exporting to iTunes.
I have tried re-exporting it but it's still the same result.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Like everyone else here, I'm just an iMovie user who volunteers to help answer questions.
Unfortunately, recent changes to the Discussion software introduced bugs that make it very difficult to reply to user questions. Despite assurances by Forum administrators, these bugs are not being fixed.
This is to ask that you contact Apple, suggesting that additional resources be allocated to fixing the Discussion software. Hopefully your support will encourage Apple to address these problems.
Here's the man who should be able to get some action:
    Steve Jobs <[email protected]>
I plan to include this message in postings until the issues are resolved.
Joe, I've also seen problems exporting iMovie projects with the Apple TV exporter, although never the problem you mentioned.
I suggest you try another way to configure your own export settings. Your goal will be to create an export very similar to Apple TV, but build it on your own. The Apple TV exporter uses the H.264 codec, used for many other exports too.
(You can test this on one or two clips in the affected area before exporting the entire iMovie project. Use the "Share selected clips only" checkbox.)
Instead of choosing the Apple TV export in the export dialog window, try choosing "Movie to MPEG-4". Then click on the Options button. Configure these settings:
    UNDER THE VIDEO TAB:
    Video Format: H.264
    Data Rate: 2653
    Optimized for: Download
    Image Size: Custom, 720x480
Frame Rate: Current (or 29.97 for NTSC, 25 for PAL)
    UNDER THE AUDIO TAB:
    Audio Format: AACV-LC (Music)
    Data Rate: 128 kbps
    Channels: Stereo
    Output Sample Rate: Recommended
    Encoding Quality: Better
When the export is done, change the file extension to ".m4v", the extension used by Apple TV, if you like. You'll want to test the movie in whatever ways you now use the traditional Apple TV movie.

    Hi Folks,

  • Green frames when exporting from CC 2014

Hello. I just updateted to the newest edition of premiere pro(aswell as all the other CC software i have installed which includes phoshop, speedgrade, audition, ame, and after effects). So the versions of the software are the very latest.
My computer is late2013 macbook pro with nvidia graphics card, and i have all the system updates installed, nothing special going on.
    Heres the issue:
When exporting the project, i get random green frames, full green frames. Complitely randomly, no pattern whatsoever.
My workflow have been this: Footage shot with two Sony cameras and i have encoded all the materials to mxf format with one step earlier AME version. I started the project with one step earlier premiere, and i have already done 19 out of 23 sequences that project contains, no problem at all with earlier version of ame&premiere. Now i updated to the latest 2014 cc and these green frames started to pop out randomly. I have not used any plugins or effects, only premieres own threeway colorcorrector and bightness&contrast. Parts of the clip have transparent black video as textbackground with crop effect applied and basic textlayer from premieres own text editor. I have exported few grpahics from aftereffects (both the lates and the one step earlier version) to proress 4444 format as RGP+alpha. And im exporting with using youtube SD widescreen 360p settings, nothing changed. Again, everything worked perfectly before update.
    things i have tried sofar:
delete caches both manually and from each software
    normal boot
    pram reset
    safeboot
    update check
export XML from 2014 cc and import to earlier premiere -> no luck, things got messed up somehow
made a copy of both project files, i compared and changed some version number from 27 -> 26 so i could open the project in earlier premiere -> no luck (this worked back in cs6 time when i had to import cs6 project to cs5.5)
Kinda running out of time, so rest of the night im going to spend re-editing those sequences i have done today with newer version of premiere. Will adobe pay for me for these extra hours, i think my client wont approve one extraediting day(night becaus of the schedule, these must be ready tomorrow with no green frames) because of software problem?
Ask anything you want, i'm 100% sure this is not user error since everything was fine with one step earlier premiere version. I will copy&paste this to the bugreport too.
    Thanks

Temporary solution for this was "export xml" after all. I had to disable all graphics and textlayers and delete colorcorrections, and flatten multicam, so i had to redo all grading ja graphics stuff in older premiere after importin FCP xml. But got the work done in time. Won't use cc 2014 in near future unless someone figures out what is wrong with green frames. (well actually now im exporting from older AME, will she if the green frames pops out there too, wouldn't be too much surprised....)

  • FLV export option not showing in FCP

i recently purchased CS5 Master Collection Student & Teacher Edition. i am told that with the installation of CS5, an flv export option should appear in FCP when using "Export QT Movie".
Unfortunately this is not the case, neither does it appear in the FCP export menu, nor does FLV show up in Compressor, when choosing "Quicktime Export Components" from the "add" button.
    Can anyone help?

In this scenario, you don't want, Export > QT movie. You instead want, Export > Using QT Conversion. Then one of your "OPTIONS" should be "flv."

In Compressor, same sort of deal: you need to set up a file with "Quicktime Export Components" selected. Not QuickTime Movie. Then set the encoder type to FLV.

  • Objects missing when exporting to PDF, but show up when printing to PDF

Hi - I'm working with someone, both of us in InDesign CS4, and she has some documents that cause a few random objects to just go missing when exported to PDF (same on my computer). But when printing to PDF, they show up fine. They also show up fine if we recreate each individual object, but that can end up being a lot of work. She prefers to export to PDF because of quality. I'm drawing a blank on this one!
The attached file shows the issue. The green blocks just don't want to show up when exporting.

    Peter -
The links are just the PDFs of the black and white portions and don't really matter too much since they show up fine when exporting or printing to PDF. Our main concern is the green blocks, which are indeed the green areas of the plan you pointed out. They are actually separate objects created directly within InDesign that can be moved and adjusted.
I just updated to 6.0.4 and that didn't help. I wonder if this may be a variant of the bugs I was reading about with master pages and certain things not showing up when creating PDFs or printing (even though none of these things are on the master page)?
    Thanks

I can not export a Keynote 2014 as a manual advance quicktime.  What is the best way to playback a Keynote on a PC to look exactly like the keynote that I created?

There's no really good way for it anymore. Sharing via iCloud is likely the best possible option, but I haven't had an opportunity to try that out yet. I'll need to get my hands on a Windows PC to see how an updated Windows browser displays presentations.

  • Better FLV export settings?

Hi - hope someone can help me with this dilemna I'm in.
I'm working on a video production that will involve a hearing person presenting training, a person next to him presenting it in sign language, and sub-titles.
I want to export the files as F4V files because they seem to be really clear, especially at full screen [1280x720].  The problem is when I export to F4V and then use Flash's default plain-vanilla player controller, none of the controllers have full-screen capability.
So I've reverted to this convoluted work-around where I export the video as FLV, and then I'm able to fool the Camtasia export settings, which has a full-screen player built-in, to "accept" this FLV file I exported from Adobe Media Encoder.
The end result is the Camtasia player with full-screen plays back my FLV file and also allows viewer to view it in full-screen.  I would love to use F4V but I'm just not smart enough to figure out how to make one of the player controllers built into Flash have the fll-screen capability, so I have to revert to this work-around.
However, the FLV video is not very good, so is there a way for me to boost the FLV export in Encoder so it looks much better?  Here are the FLV current export settings.  Also, here is 10-sec test clip.
    http://designerandpublisher.com/test/test-sequence.html

I don't think you will be able to get an FLV looking as good as the H.264 based F4V.
Better to switch the player to one that gives you the options you need.
