I am doing a project that will help people to check their balance from their bank accounts, make payments and brokerage using cellphones. I want to know if there is a way to connect Database in J2ME.

Hi,
There is no support for JDBC in J2ME, so u have to write server code which will access the database and send the result to the mobile.
This is useful in other ways also, you can reduce the amount of data exchanged between client and server. and if u need change(like DB url or schema) u dont have to change it in every client app. it will be enough if u change it in server alone.

Using database views in ADF mobile client application

Hi,
I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and WLS 10.3.4.
I have developed a POC in ADF mobile client application both with and without synchronization. However, both work with entity objects based on tables.
I need to use database views instead of tables. When I try to include entity object (based on views) in the view object, it shows an error saying "Only the entity objects based on tables can be selected"
Please guide me if there is a work around for this.
Also, please let me know if there is way to develop an ADF mobile client application skipping the use of entity objects at all and using view objects directly to specify the database query and fetch data from the database.

Currently, out of box, ADF Mobile Client does not support synchronization against Database Views. This is because Mobile Server imposes some schema restrictions to ensure synchronization with multi-table views would work correctly. This schema restriction requires, for example, the view must have a primary parent table with key defined, and also all base table must be included in the data publication. These dependencies requires manual resolution and advanced planning, and is managed outside of the ADF Mobile Client/JDeveloper project.
To continue development, you would need to create server Entity Objects directly against the base tables. You can then create the mobile ADF Business Component (EOs, VOs, etc). You can then create View Objects in your ADF Mobile Client application based on the database views, in order to retrieve the data you need exactly. In other words, instead of basing EO on the database view, create View Objects in the mobile applicaiton to mimic what you had in the View Object.
Is there any other reason why you would need to access data via database views, instead of directly against base tables?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

JBO-27122 error in ADF mobile client application for blackberry

Hi,
I am trying to develop a simple ADF mobile client application for blackberry. Currently, working only with Blackberry 9700 simulator. I am using the following for development:
- Jdev 11.1.1.3
- Oracle database lite 10.3.3
I have done all the steps as given in the oracle demo. But when I try to run the application in blackberry simulator, the page shows the following error:
ERROR: failed to change page

Please suggest what could have been wrong while developing or deploying the application.
P.S. : The view object (header) shows data successfully when run in the application module. Also, a .db file gets created in the SD card folder. The synchronisation is a success when mSync.exe file is run in the <Oracle_Home>/Mobile/Server/Sdk/bin.

Acces key problem in Mobile web application

I am just trying a mobile web application according to the link given below:

While reimplementing the controller class i am getting one message "Method DO_INIT is implemented in class CL_BSP_CONTROLLER" and asking for Access key.
Why this is happening and how i can overcome this problem?

I install the oracle financial appliation and oracle 8i,
it give following error messages
" TNSLSNR.EXE unable to locate dll
the dynamic link library orancrypt8.dll could not find path
G:\oracle\bin............ "
oracle financial application successfuly installed.
I installed nt 4 service pack 6a,
I start the " owsctl start wrb "
" owsctl start admin "
owsctl start <listener> already start.
Please inform me what is the problem ? what step I am missing
during running the oracle financial application ?
How I could install and run the oracle financial application ?

secondly, oracle 8i is also not working, it give error messange

BPC 7.0: Consolidation in financial application but with errors

Hello
Currently we consolidate with an FXConsol data package in a financial application type. We did not want to create a consolidation application type, as any eliminations are not necessary. But adding all company values up to a group value is essential.
However, putting all numbers together with the FXConsol package is working, but nevertheless the log details show an error - no instruction retrieved from ELIM table.
Is it possible to let FXConsol finish without showing an error in a financial application? Or is it better to use FXTrans with an additional formula?

There is some inconsistency which has come up during the entire process. If you can please let me know the exact steps you have followed, that would be great.
The main problem, I see, is with the argument list of the SPRUNCONSO. Check the parameters of SPRUNCONSO in the database and match it with the arguments using which you are invoking the stored procedure. There is some mismatch between these 2 places.
Since the requirement, based on your previous post, was just to have another copy, I would suggest you to create copy of the specific function and rename it, instead of creating the copy of the entire .lgl file.
1. In your script logic, change the statement RunConsolidation(parameters) to RunCon(parameters).
2. In the file AAG_System_Library.lgl, copy from
*SUB Runconsolidation(......
*ENDSUB
and paste it at the end of the same file.
3. Change Runconsolidation to RunCon
4. Make the desired changes in this function.
So, this process will create a new function runcon and you can modify it as required. This function can be refered in your script file and this should work absolutely fine.

How to debug a Mobile client application

Hi,
How to debug a mobile client application on the laptop, where we dont have any .NET 2003 application installed. (not an MDW)
If we get any error on the application, which could be a UI error on laptop, and if everything is working fine on the MDW, is there any way to debug the application on Mobile client?
Also, please provide me links or tips on how to debug the mobile application, on MDW as well.

Hi,
to be able to debug on a local machine you would need at least to install the UI/BOL class files and the project files and make some local settings.
But anyway on all clients there should be the same MSA installation like it is on the MDW so in case of an issue it is normally caused by local (inconsistent) data.
I would suggest to access the laptop IDES database by changing your MDW odbc settings and perform the debug session on the MDW.
Debugging in VB .net is similar to VB6 but you have to notice that changing of the code is NOT possible when being in debug mode.

I have created a Mobile Browser Application. Could anyone please tell me how to test it on Android emulator?
I read the information about downloading and configuring simulators(Blackberry) and emulators(Microsoft Windows) for ADF Mobile browser in "Running Mobile Device Simulators with ADF Mobile and JDeveloper". However they didn't mention details about downloading and configuring "*Android Emulators*". Could anyone please help me in this.

Hi,
thought you want to test a mobile BROWSER application on android emulator you have to use android JDK like mentioned by codigoadf.
I guess also that the configuration (create virtual android device, ...) will be the same.
You have to use the same URL for your application than on your PC but replace 127.0.0.1 by 10.0.2.2 (In case your WLS runs on the same machine as the android emulator)

I am facing some issues in Workspace because of OS (Windows 7). I am trying to access the App wizard directly from the application wizard URL(http://localhost:9000/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp). Please correct me, if i wrong, I am creating classic application (Project Financial Planning), why i go to Workspace. Please suggest me. I dont have any other Planning application in my laptop. I am trying to create PFP as first application to do R&D work.

We have upgraded from 10.7 to 11i. And I need to bring some old custom forms that were used in 10.7 to 11i. Please let me know how can I do that.
And also I need to know what needs to be done to set up Forms developer 6i for Financial application cutomization. We were able to install the developer 6i but can't find the TEMPLATE.fmb any where.

Mobile Media Application Development

I have been given 24 hours to conduct some preliminary research on the potential of a company wide mobile wide application development project.
We are looking to synchronise pictures taken on our agents phones with the head office server.
We use a variety of different phones and manufacturers.
Ideally we need one application that we can install which will transfer all images on the phone over WAP to a service we will write.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to write an application which will sit on any phone and if it is feasible for it to access the file system of the mobile to grab the images?
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hi h3gg3m,
It's certainly possible to take photo's from within an application and have them sent to a server. An example of an application that takes the photographs can be found here http://developers.sun.com/techtopics/mobility/midp/articles/picture/index.html and there are numerous other examples of apps that will send data via http to a webserver (I just found this on a quick search http://www.kablog.org/).
As for taking the photos outside of the application (i.e. using the phone's native camera app) and having the application then upload them, this will be device specific as it requires an optional package (JSR75 - PIM and FileConnection) to be present and you've also then got the problem of navigating to wherever the device stores it's photos (if they're available to the app) etc. I'm afraid that I've never used that particular API so I'm not speaking from experience.
In short, the option that would be compatible with the most devices, if it suits your requirements, is to go for an all in one application that takes the photo, stores it, and uploads it via. an http POST to a standard web form. The only potential problem with this solution is that without the optional JSR75 package (access to the native file system), all photos would be stored in Java's record store (RMS) which could be fairly small on some devices (I think the spec says 8k minimum).
