Mobile Phone to PC via Bluetooth

I am investigating the posibility for a certain function for an application on a mobile phone. An Single Sign-On (SSO) application. This application is going to transmit its authentication data to the PC and cause the Web browser to open and log in to the site with the authentication data from the mobile phone.
I was thinking if it is possible to send this authentication data and open the web browser without a companion application already running on the PC. As most SSO applications do have.
Scenario 1: Is it possible to transfer a little program to the PC which executes the necesary commands to open the web browser with minimal or no user interaction on the receiving PC when sending over this file/program?
Scenario 2: Maybe it is possible to simulate a keyboard on the mobile phone which sends the authentication data over to the web browser like a keyboard input(only automatic)? Can I open the default web browser with a keyboard key combination(Is this possible to do with Java)?
I have never programmed J2ME with Bluetooth before so I have no idea if this is possible with either J2ME or Bluetooth.
I would appreciate any answers/clues/ideas to this problem as I need to figure this out soon concerning my upcoming MSc thesis on Single Sign-On.

Hi!all..
I am doing the same thing...in my project actually i want to transfer data from pc to mbile back and forth..using bluetooth
I m using atinave aveLink BT library...
In that i am able to transfer data from mobile to pdesktop pc successfully..
in my application desktop pc is server and mobile j2me application is client....
Now i am able to connect both mobile and pc and as i have told u already i am to send data from mobile to pc and pc receives them and prints them but when i am trying reverse thing my mobile receives data randomly i.e. it may happen that mobile doesn't receive data at all or mobile receives all the data...and in that ratio of not receiving data in mobile at alll is more than receiving successfully....
I have also tried to communicate between two mobiles in which one is server and other mobile is client using same code to receive and send data....they both communicate well successfully back and forth...
but problem is only between pc and mobile....
Another thing i have also tried to make my mobile server and pc as client but in that case when in service search completed method when pc client tries to connect to mobile server which is already successfully in waiting mode the pc throws an exception "java.io.exception : Connection failed"
So i mnot getting the reason why it is happening....
pc server can receive data from mobile client successfully and can slao send data successfully but mobile client doesn't receives or some times receives....
mobile server and mobile client both successfully communicate with each other successfully.......
And mobile server and pc client case mobile server goes into waiting mode but client is not able to connect with server throws and io exception: "Connectionfailed"
So is there any one who has same problem as mine???????
or is there any one who can tell me the reason why it is not receiving data or why connection failed exception is coming?????????
Or is there any one who has done successful communication between pc server and mobile client???????????
if some one is there then plz help me because in my project to transfer data back and forth between mobile and pc is necessary....in any case...
Help from any one would be appreciated greatly..............

  • How do I send videos and photo's from my mobile to the iPad via Bluetooth?

I am trying to send videos and photo's to my iPad from my mobile via Bluetooth but it won't work. The phone pairs with the iPad but won't connect to send files. Do I need an app for this? I am not very technical minded so please try and keep the answer as simple as possible.
    Thanks

The simplest thing I can think of is, a app called iFiles. It costs £1.79.
There is a free similar type program called Dropbox, but this one requires a wifi connection to access the files etc you have uploaded. Whereas the iFiles app doesn't need any type of connection after the files etc have been uploaded.
Once you have installed the iFiles app on the iPad. Connect the iPad to your computer via the usb cable.
The iPad will now appear on the left handside. Left click on it. Along the top of the screen you will see, summary, apps, music and so on.
Click on the word APPS. You will now see at the bottom of the screen a section called FILE SHARING, along with two little windows. On the left side box should be iFiles. Click on the iFiles entry in this box.
Next you should see on the right handside window, iFile documents, at the bottom of this box is a button with ADD on it. Click on this and locate the files etc on your computer that you are wanting added onto your iPad, click on the SYNC button, they are then uploaded onto your iPad and they are now available for you to access wherever you are. You don't need any connection, i.e. wifi, cellular connection.
Here's a couple of screen shot showing what I have explained above:
Here's a link to the iFiles site:

  • Samsung  Mobile Phone SPH-a640 Camera Bluetooth photo transfer

What h/w is needed to transfer photos via Bluetooth from a Samsung Camera/phone SPH-a640 to my eMac running 10.4.8?

This, I'm afraid, is not a Mac solution, but it does seem to work. Using Parallels, a USB cable that I bought on eBay, and Windows, I was able to follow the steps shown here: http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/983423-1.html
I haven't tried it for photos yet, but it did work for moving a midi file for use as a ringtone. Other Bell SPH-a640 users in the thread say it works for them. I tried doing it with the Mac version of Bitpim, but this would only recognize the bluetooth port; it said the USB port was closed. It would not allow the transfer of data over the bluetooth port. It's a clunky method, but it does defeat Bell's attempt to prevent us from using our cell phones more fully.

  • I can't tether via Bluetooth to my phone anymore

Hey all, I have the latest gen iPod Touch running 8.1.1  I've been able to tether my Nokia phones to it via Bluetooth for many years.  After the November software update, I am no longer able to make such a connection.  The iPod touch literally goes from "Connected" to "Not-Connected" in an instant after first connecting.
I tried restoring the iPod to factory and my phone. None of this has had any impact.  I've also tried an iPad that is not mine with no luck.  I was able to connect to it months earlier though.
Has anyone else experienced this?  If anyone could please try with their iPod or iPad and let me know if you're experiencing the same thing.
    Thank you!

Nothing says these two devices shouldn't be able to pair.
You're supposed to be able to pair to devices via Bluetooth, mine just happens to be a phone.
Well, I'm sure that lllaass or one of the other experienced contributors here will correct me if I'm wrong, but Bluetooth on Apple's iDevices has never been able to send files between paired devices.
Pairing on Apple devices (using an accepted Bluetooth protocol) is restricted to pairing between iOS devices through an app, or from an iDevice to Bluetooth speakers, headphones or other similar receiver, such as a car stereo. This enables two different iPod users to game together on their own device within an app, or to allow audio to be sent to Bluetooth headphones, Bluetooth speakers or to car audio units with Bluetooth.
On any other device, such as another phone, or between iDevices but not within an app, pairing may occur briefly, but exchanging of files would not be possible. In your case, it would appear that pairing occurred briefly, but was subsequently dropped - because the exchange protocol between the devices is not supported, so the connection is "not valid". This is not a fault.
There are many different protocols for Bluetooth, some of which do not allow files to be exchanged between devices.
In the past, when you managed to pair your device with anything else, ask yourself what you managed to do with that pairing. Although you may have used it for gaming, or sending audio, did you ever manage to send data?

I do not think it is supported. Try search apple's support page for bluetooth and iPad. I found this but there are others.

  • Can I pay money to iTunes via mobile phone, calling or SMS?, Can I pay money to iTunes via mobile phone, calling or SMS?

Is there any way I can pay money to iTunes via mobile phone calls or via SMS?
I really need to get rid of the 900 NOK I have on my mobile and I can't find any use so I am just wondering.
If there is a way to pay via SMS or phone calls could you give me a link or a number and what to write to them so that I can give money to my user Email.
Also if there is no way could you please add it because it would give much more payments to the apple store. Lots of my friend is also wondering if there is a way to pay to iTunes via phone calls or SMS and it would be great to have the possibility.
    <Email Edited By Host>

Yeah, answer is no. That would likely never be changed for various legal reasons. Imagine the fallout of throw-out phones being used for this, and people's information being compromised and used. I could see them never doing this. However, you could try perhaps leaving feedback concerning it:

Thanks, yes email is an option, but in a non-wifi area for people not using 3G, how can we auto-magically get the photo bluetoothed to the iPad for use in Keynote?
Android phone to iPad via bluetooth is the basic question

  • Printing pictures via bluetooth to a bluetooth printer that is not online

i was wondering if iphone will be able to send a picture or file to a bluetooth printer that is not online i'm out in the field alot and need to print pictures right there i have a bluetooth printer in my van. my old phone would send via bluetooth and i could give customer the pic at that time instead of having to bring them back to the customer. please advise
    thank you
    jimski3332002

I suppose that would depend on the model of the printer, some print companies provide apps for wireless printing to certain models. But if the printer isn't online and you're looking for a BlueTooth only type of connection, it still may be a good idea to check out the app store to see if the makers of your particular printer have written an app making it possible for you to do so.

  • Qosmio G20-118 and Active Sync via bluetooth

I cant make activesync to work when connecting my Pocket PC (With Windows Mobile 2003 second edition) via bluetooth. Can anyone help or post a link to a help page?
    Thanks in advance,
    Miguel Amaro

    Hi
As far as I know the Pocket PC must be in the cradle.
    1. "Tap" on start and choose the ActiveSync program
    2. Then "tap" on "Tools" and choose "Options" in the ActiveSync Program
    3. Check under "Enable synchronization when cradled using" to see if the setting is on Bluetooth
Important: Please remove the Pocket PC from the cradle and then return it to the cradle.
    This activates the new setting
    Bye
