MODPLSQL-00370 HTTP-400 Illegal procedure name, has an empty part

I currently have a 10g Orale HTTP server that runs fine.
I am testing an install on a Linux box of the latest Oracle HTTP server but I am getting the above error everytime I try and access a pl/sql routine that runs fine on the 10g version.
Server Version: Oracle-Application-Server-11g/11.1.1.2.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server (Unix) mod_ssl/11.0.0.0.0 OtherSSL/0.0.0 mod_plsql/11.1.1.0.0 mod_onsint/2.0
Server Label: APACHE_11.1.1.2.0_LINUX.X64_091027.0947
Server Built: Oct 28 2009 23:19:04
I have created a basic pl/sql procedure called 'hello', granted access to public and created a public synonym
On the 10g server it runs fine and displays hello world, on the 11g server it just gives the error :
[2010-06-01T15:54:58.6856+01:00] [OHS] [ERROR:32] [OHS-9999] [mod_context.c] [host_id: web3.aspasia-mail.net] [host_addr: 127.0.0.1] [tid: 1168062784] [user: root] [ecid: 004Xz^cFbNZFw000jzwkno0002tc000002] [rid: 0] [VirtualHost: main] MODPLSQL-00370: mod_plsql: /pls/ashall/hello HTTP-400 Illegal procedure name, has an empty part
There are no startup errors in the ohs log, the server serves static html pages fine, just an issue with the mod_plsql pages.
OHS was installed as user oracle which was set up as per installation instructions
any ideas???

ok, I have got to the bottom of this and I have to say the error is totally rubbish!!
The issuse is in the DAD file, even though on startup the dads.conf was parsed without an error!
I have a default static html page if someone tries to go to the private DAD, ie
PlsqlDefaultPage ../../authorisation.html
Even though my call to the server is specifying the procedure I want for some reason the ../../ is causing the error ... if I remove the ../../, ie
PlsqlDefaultPage authorisation.html
and restart the ohs my hello page is returned fine!! So the error is actually relating to the ../../authorisation.html being an invalid procedure name despite the fact the ohs started without any errors at all!!

    Hi All,
I have apex 3.1.0.00.32 installed on solaris 10g R2. I didnt make any changes to a page which is based on report/query.
When I modify the records I get the above error page not found HTTP 404

    Any hints on this?

    Rajesh,
    When I modify the records
Modify records how? Using what tool? What to you mean by "When"? Do you mean "after" modifying records you run the report and get the error or do you mean "in the process of" modifying records using a control in your application? What kind of report is this? Can you show us on apex.oracle.com?

  • Set Rendered on a 'Add' button to False has caused HTTP 400 error

    Hi,
I am trying to personalise in Manager SS a custom version of seeded 'Documents of Record' function HR_DOR_SS to make the Add Record button non-display on the Documents of Record table. I changed Rendered to False, got the 'Setting this item to false may hide this item and its children' message but went ahead and did it anyway.
Outcome is that I can see the records in the table but can no longer view, update or delete existing records. I get a http 400 bad request page. I changed the 'Add' button back to Rendered True, but problem persists. Get the error also when I try to create a new record using the now re-instated button. Imported the personalization from another environment where it's working fine, bounced apache, clear cache etc and still problem persists.
Also if no record exists for employee, Add button works fine and I can create a record but from that point on cannot do anything with it.
    Any help v much appreciated.
    Thx

Yes, I've seen similar links/posts about how to activate buttons in the header of a table, but those do it by adding listeners to the renderer. My buttons would be directly in the CellRendererPane that is the container for the table header. I would have thought that by putting the button directly in the Cell RendererPane that it would have nothing to do with the rest of the table header. CellRendererPane extends Container. Is it not possible to put a JButton in a Container? JFrame extends indirectly from Container and you can add buttons to that.

  • DB Link , ORA - 02083: illegal database name character '-'

    Hi,
I work for an integration company and right now we are putting together an application that is moving a small subset of data from one db to another. I have created a db link to move the data. However, when I try to compile the procedure, that moves the data, into the database, the compile fails and I am given the following error:
ORA-02083: database name has illegal character ‘-‘.
The instances I’m developing/testing to are on the same machine, which is a Solaris X86 machine and the Oracle version is 8.1.7.
Now 2 things. If I do a simple query like the one below using SQL*PLUS, the link works fine.
    Select sysdate
    From dual@<dblink_name>;
The other thing is the domain name does in fact have a ‘-‘ in it, but I have removed the domain name from everyplace I can thing of from Oracle; i.e. tnsnames, init.ora file, etc.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Roger Christophel

and set this parameter with its correct value.
    DB_DOMAIN
    Parameter type
    String
    Syntax
    DB_DOMAIN = domain_name
    Default value
    There is no default value.
    Parameter class
    Static
    Range of values
Any legal string of name components, separated by periods and up to 128 characters long (including the periods). This value cannot be NULL.
    Real Application Clusters
You must set this parameter for every instance, and multiple instances must have the same value.
In a distributed database system, DB_DOMAIN specifies the logical location of the database within the network structure. You should set this parameter if this database is or ever will be part of a distributed system. The value consists of the extension components of a global database name, consisting of valid identifiers, separated by periods. Oracle Corporation recommends that you specify DB_DOMAIN as a unique string for all databases in a domain.
This parameter allows one department to create a database without worrying that it might have the same name as a database created by another department. If one sales department's DB_DOMAIN is JAPAN.ACME.COM, then their SALES database (SALES.JAPAN.ACME.COM) is uniquely distinguished from another database with DB_NAME = SALES but with DB_DOMAIN = US.ACME.COM.
If you omit the domains from the name of a database link, Oracle expands the name by qualifying the database with the domain of your local database as it currently exists in the data dictionary, and then stores the link name in the data dictionary. The characters valid in a database domain name are: alphanumeric characters, underscore (_), and number sign (#).

  • HTTP 400 Bad Request when accessing Oracle XE/Apex from the Internet

I have Oracle Express Edition upgraded to Apex 3.2. I can access everything (SQL prompt, Apex HTTP) from my local machine. I have configured the server for remote access on a non-default (not 8080) port.
    I have executed: exec dbms_xdb.setListenerLocalAccess(false);
I can access the server using:
http://coyote:9977/apex (brings me to Application Express Administration Services login screen)
(where "coyote" is the local machine name of my Windows Vista box, where the Oracle/Apex server is installed.)
    But when I try:
    http://internet_server_name:9977/apex
(where "internet_server_name" is the internet DNS name visible of my machine visible from the internet.)
I get "HTTP 400 Bad Request"
I know the request is hitting the Oracle Listener (getting through firewalls, cable modem router, etc) since the http attempt causes the entry:
    20-MAR-2009 20:36:53 * http * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=68.189.244.22)(PORT=52540)) * handoff * http * 0
to be made in the C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\network\log\listener.log
An attempt using the local (Windows) machine name makes a similar entry in the listener log:
    20-MAR-2009 20:47:35 * http * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=192.168.1.7)(PORT=52811)) * handoff * http * 0
This seems like a security issue of some kind (is the server dropping a request from "outside" the local domain?)
I'm new to Oracle so I am not familiar with how to debug this sort of connectivity issue. In case it helps:

I have tried running with the firewall (F-Secure) completely disabled, but it made no difference. I do see the request hit the listener, and the handoff appears to be successful, but it goes silent from there. I also have a cable modem router that has the port forwarding set, but maybe there are other handoff ports besides the initial one (e.g. 8080) that need to be forwarded? Please also check the Windows firewall is off as well. Yes, Windows Firewall is disabled as well. See my previous post to Tyler - I'm pretty sure the reqwuest makes it through the firewall/router layer, since it causes an entry in Listener.log
Is your problem through the router only? In other words, if you try from a second machine that is on the same side as your XE, are you working OK? (My home ISP blocks a bunch of ports. Including SMTP, FTP, Telnet. And 8080 since that is a traditional default for many Java 'servers'.)
Yes, it appears to be related to a non-local IP address. I'm sure it makes it through the router - I also have several other ports that make it through (e.g. port 80).
I have poked around the DBMS_EPG docs, and ran a few of the commands there (list DADS etc). DBMS_EPG was first 'released' to us in 10gR2. As far as I'm concerned, XE is the public 'beta' or 'release candidate'. (This is supported by Oracle's docs that state that Apex using DBMS_EPG is first supported using 10.2.0.3 or 11g.) There are known bugs and there is no way to patch XE to fix them. However, I do not know whether you are hitting those bugs.
    http://www.astral-consultancy.co.uk/cgi-bin/hunbug/doco.cgi?11410 provides some good notes.
Interesting. I will check out these docs later today.

    Thanks.
How do I pick up the [log] trail from there?I'm thniking that the listener's log is still the primary way to go. You may need to increase the log or trace level. I have not investigated how to gen or access logs inside EPG.I tried Tyler's trace but did not seem to add additional info to the Listener.log.

  • HTTP 400 Bad Request Error

    Application Express 3.1.1.00.09
We have some users who are experiencing what appears to be a browser problem in one of our APEX applications.
When clicking on any button that does an insert or update to the database some users get an HTTP-400 Bad Request error message. The database does not get updated and anything they click on after that shows that message. In most cases we have been able to restore the user’s browser to the default settings and the issue is resolved. However, we were not able to isolate which browser setting is causing the issue. We have seen the issue in IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8.
Here’s the error we see in the Apache server error log (minus the date time stamp and IP addresses):
    mod_plsql: /pls/ax_tastest/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-400 Invalid name
Does anyone else have a solution for this? Know what's causing it?

HTTP 400 Bad Request Error from APEX 3.1.1.00.09.
We were able to determine that only PCs which had the Google toolbar installed were getting the HTTP 400 Bad Request Error from a particular page in one of our applications. Further testing revealed that turning off the ‘auto-fill’ feature of the Google toolbar would prevent the error from occurring and the application would behave normally. We were able to identify a specific item on the page that was the root cause. The item was using the type “Text area with HTML Editor” which has been deprecated. We changed the page item type to “HTML editor standard” and this has resolved the issue with or without the Google Toolbar and auto-fill feature enabled.
    Summary:
    •     Browser setting: Google toolbar enabled with auto-fill enabled.
Apex page item of type: ‘Text area with HTML Editor’.
When a user clicks on a button in the page, that executes a page process, it results in HTTP 400 error.
    •     Browser setting: Google toolbar enabled with auto-fill disabled.
Apex page item of type: ‘Text area with HTML Editor’.
When a user clicks on a button in the page, everything goes through correctly and there is no error.
    •     Browser setting: Google toolbar enabled with auto-fill disabled or enabled.
Apex page item of type: ‘HTML Editor Standard’.
When a user clicks on a button in the page, everything goes through correctly and there is no error.

The total number of name value pairs that can be passed to a PL/SQL procedure is 2000.
mod_plsql limits the total number of parameters that can be passed to a single procedure to 2000.
mod_plsql limits the size of a single parameter that can be passed to a procedure to 32000 bytes.
It would be helpful to know how each of these apply in the APEX context

  • Oracle 11G and SqlDataSource: 'ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number'

    [Resolved - http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2366331&#2366331]
I've created a short video to explain my problem with Oracle and SqlDataSource. If you'd rather watch than read, go see the video at http://www.kencox.ca/video/oracelandsqldatasource.html.
I'm trying to do some extremely simple drag and drop development in Visual Web Developer 2008 with the Oracle 11g database and ODP.NET. According to Oracle, "The data provider can be used with the latest .NET Framework 3.5 version. "
The SELECT statement works fine, but any attempt to use UPDATE via the SQLDataSource UpdateCommand nets me the infamous 'ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number' error.
I wouldn't mind using one of my MSDN Support Incidents to have Microsoft take a look at this issue, but I'm not sure the problem is Microsoft's. It seems like Oracle is doing a poor job in its Visual Studio integration.
Question: Has anyone successfully used an UpdateCommand statement in SQLDataSource against Oracle 11g? If so, let me know!
Below, you see the entire code as generated in Visual Web Developer 2008. To see it in action, check the video at http://www.kencox.ca/video/oracelandsqldatasource.html.

    Ken,
One thing to be aware of is Microsoft has produced Visual Studio database tools and data provider for Oracle. In addition, Oracle has produced its own tools. Knowing which products you are using is important because you want to know which company you should be complaining about. :-)
In your video, you are using all Microsoft tools and data provider, not Oracle's.
I would recommend using Oracle Developer Tools (ODT) for VS and ODP.NET since these products are much better integrated with .NET and Oracle.
ODP.NET uses Oracle.DataAccess.Client namespace. System.Data.OracleClient belongs to the MS provider for Oracle, which Mark pointed out. If you drag and drop DB objects using ODT, it will generate ODP.NET code for you (and give you more data source wizard options as well).
You can download the latest 11g version of ODP.NET and ODT here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html
These support .NET 3.5 and VS 2008.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.
Here's an example of what I mean:

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.
    Good luck!

  • Oracle SQL Developer  error - "The file-based source procedure Name is not present in the database."

I recently started working on the Oracle SQL developer. I have 'select' privileges on the QA schema and when tried to execute proc in QA. It is giving the error as 'The file-based source <procedure Name>  is not present in the database.  Was it compiled?'
instead 'you do not have sufficient privileges to execute this procedure'. Did research on internet but with no luck. What configuration changes needed to be done to make it work.Guide me.

Sounds like you do not have the correct privileges.  What should have been granted to you by the QA user, or some other user with appropriate privileges, is...
    grant EXECUTE on "QA"."<PROCEDURE_OF_INTEREST>" to "<YOUR_USERID>" ;
Note that a grant of execute on a procedure has nothing to do with grants of select on some or all of QA's tables and views.
So, as Vadim suggests, from your connection node in SQL Developer's Connections view, if you expand the Other Users node, then expand QA and look in the Procedures node, do you see the procedure of interest?  If not, you cannot expect to be able to execute it from your userid's connection. And even if you do see it, you may have some other privilege that permits viewing but not executing, like...
    The role SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE
The system privilege SELECT ANY DICTIONARY
And even if you do not see it there, then having certain other privileges granted to you could permit executing it in general, like...
    The role EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE
The system privilege EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE
Also, note that the 3.0 release is a bit dated nowadays. Upgrading to 4.0.3 production or even the 4.1 EA2 (early adopter) release will, in general, give you a better experience.
    Best wishes,
    Gary

  • After installing new operating system software, my user account name has been changed and i don't know the password.

    i need help!
I just installed Mac OS Maverick in my laptop, but when i checked the Users&Groups There are only 2 User name 1 is  "Apple(admin) and 2 is Guest, my user account name has been changed even the password. how can i retrieve my old user account name and password or how can i changed it?

Here's an updated set of instructions you can try:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).
