More FM 8 PDF Issues

I cannot create a PDF file by either printing to the Adobe PDF printer or by saving as a PDF file. FM 8 crashes every time with the Internal error 8004, 6343116, 848334, 0. I have no prior version to return to using. I cannot print to a .ps file - same error. I have installed the p266 FM8 patch. Nothing works to generate a PDF.
I am using WinXP SP2 and have 4 GB RAM (the OS "sees" only 2.93 GB) What can I try?

We're making progress. I deleted the font cache file. I thought Dennis was referring to that as a possible solution to the first crashing problem that I thought was font related so I had not done that before in troubleshooting the PDF creation problem. I printed the document to a .ps file with the Adobe PDF printer. It got 76% of the way through the file (page 21 of 26) and then crashed with the same internal error 8004, ...
Page 21 is a rather boring page with no graphics or cross references.
I then printed just the first page to a .ps with success. I printed the first 3 pages - success. I printed just page 21 - success. I printed pages 1-5 including the first page with a graphic - crash with the 8004... error. I then tried the entire document again and it worked. I tried printing another subsection of the document and it crashed again. I have since printed the entire document two more times and it has continued to work. When I double clicked the .ps file a PDF was generated.
More than anything, I find the inconsistency a bit troubling. For now, I have the PDF file I need but I don't have a lot of confidence that I can get that result every time.

It seems that I have solved my issue by performing a full factory reset (erasing all content, something which I had hoped to avoid) restoring from an iCloud backup did not alleviate the issue, I had to set up as a new iPad.
Hopefully anyone else else who has this issue in the future will be able to find this.

Export to PDF Issue (SSRS 2012 with Integration SharePoint 2013)

Problem Description: We have an operational report that returns around 43,000 records, based on a stored procedure. The Stored Procedure itself runs pretty quickly (under ~15 seconds).The report renders in 20 seconds.
However, we get an error like “Sorry, something went wrong” (see below) approximately 2 minutes after we choose/select the PDF as a rendering extension for export. The download of the .PDF never starts.

The 2 minutes is what I get from the execution log... it is actually 122 seconds for timerendering. As for the rs trace log from the web server, see below...

Things Also Done
1) I also tried exporting the report through excel and found no issues (it exports successfully and no issue when i open the file). The size of the exported excel (.xlsx) is 4.28MB. The timerendering value for export to excel is approx. 77 seconds.
2) I also tried creating email subscription (PDF as the rendering format) for that report and it works successfully. The size of the attached PDF from the email is approx. 1.43 MB. I can also open that PDF file with no issue. And the size of the email with
the attached PDF file is approx. 1.48 MB.
That all said, we would like to seek for your assistance to determine what is causing the failure of exporting the report to PDF issue directly from the reporting site. (Let me remind you that the email subscription for the same report with attached
PDF works with no issue)

According to your description, you get error when exporting the report into PDF. It works properly when exporting in excel or PDF format within E-mail subscription. Right?
In Reporting Services, the Excel and MHTML(e-mail subscription) render extensions are soft page break renderers. The PDF render extension is hard page break renderer. It has different render behavior between these two kind of renders. This might cause the
error. Since we are not clear about your report structure, please refer to rules in the link below and do the troubleshooting.

Calling AVDocClose with more than one PDF open crashes Acrobat

That pretty much sums it up. If I have a single PDF open and I call AVDocClose everything works great. If I have more than one PDF open it crashes Acrobat and takes down all of the open documents. Any ideas as to what might be happening and how to get around it? I'm seeing it in both Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9.

Okay, that sounds ike it could be something to look at. I'm certainly not an expert in using the SDK so maybe you can help me identify the potential issue. This is the code I'm using with some comments to help you understand what I'm doing. I just added the ASFileSysReleasePath references after reading your post but apparently I'm still missing something. The issue occurs in the code path where I'm working with local documents.

Any updated JRC for Java 1.3 that can fix "Image swapping in PDF" issue?

Hi:
We are using Crystal Report XI release 1 on Websphere server 5.0 with Java version 1.3. Currently we are suffering from the problem that the wrong pictures are on the wrong places in the generated PDF document. The images are mixed up with other images in the report.
It is said that the updated JRC files in CR4E 2.0 can fix this issue. I downloaded the JARs but unfortunately the Java version in these updated JRC JARs is higher than Java version 1.3.
Could you please tell me is there any JAR that can not only solve the mentioned issue but also work with Java version 1.3?
If yes could you please give me a URL link? If no could you please answer no so that I don't put more effort on this issue?

Unfortunately CR XI is past it's end of life and CR XI R2 and CR4E 2.0 requires java 1.4.
Only option is to upgrade.

no, there is no way to do that, sorry. you need to control-click on every email address one at a time and select "add to address book". if an email is in the address book already that option will not be there.

Reader X shuts down when trying to open more than one pdf, or when clicking certain categories in settings

Until a few weeks ago I have never had a problem opening more than one pdf at a time. Now Reader just shuts down when I try to do so. The same thing happens when I click on the yellow highlighted categories in settings. All the other categories open fine.
Appreciate the help of anyone who can help me solve this.

I guess you didn't know, but yes you can close more than one app at a time. You can close up to 3 apps at a time in the new IOS7 on the iPhone. Try opening at least 3 apps and then double click the main button to see what apps are opened. Then swipe to the left to see the three of them on your screen. Your not gonna see the ones on the side entirely but you can still put all three fingers on them, then simply swipe them up and it closes them up.
The thing is, when you have let say 10 apps open, and you start using this trick, some of them will stay open meaning you swiped them up to close them down but the bottom icon stays there. When you come back to your main IOS desktop and then go back to close the programs that you have opened, you can see that those apps are still opened. There is only like 2 or three out of all the 10 you had opened that stayed open, but none the less it's a bug in the system I presume.
You also asked about the icon at the bottom. When you are seeing what apps are opened, there is always a small icon at the bottom and on top you have a representation of what you were working on, and that is the part you swipe up. But often time the bottom icon will stay opened after swiping 2 or 3 of the apps to close them.

Adobe Reader XI won't open more than one PDF

The latest Adobe Reader (11.0.02) won't open more than one PDF at a time. Seems to require continual re-install for each open. And each time I install, it says the application is already present on my machine, yet I cannot find it anywhere. Any suggestions out there?

More than 1 pdf, more than 1 menu?

As a test, been trying to get my DVD SP 2 project to open a pdf (in Apple DVD player before I burn) and I can't even get it to do this...but ultimately, I would like to have about 6 different folders containing maybe 14 total pdfs to be accessible to a viewer - can this be done and would I need to create a menu per folder or even per pdf? I hope not..best way?

What is a "mention". Haven't heard that one before.
2nd question: I am using acrobate writer 5.0. But it is not possible to open moren than 1 file.... But with the adobe reader it is no problem to open more than one pdf file.

Windows 7 - Unable to Print more than 15 PDF's by right clicking

Hi guys,
I've just upgraded quite a lot of PC's within the business I work for.
The new PC's are Windows 7 OS based. When you right click more than 15 PDF's the option to print is not there.
Is the a fix for this?
Checked this on Windows XP and it works. Checked previous versions of Adobe Reader and these have the same print problem.

Agree with previous - this is a new "feature" of W7 to accompany their considerably worsened search programming. I keep XP platform on the side to perform both functions for some time now without any apparent instability.
