  • How do I run two Apple IDs with one computer and sync music content?

I have a single PC which I have added all of the music to one my log in. My wife and I have Iphones and I want to run separate accounts for itunes, but sync music content from the single source to both phones. Whenever I have tried to do this in the past, it starts to sync all app to both phones. I tried to therefore have separate log ins on the pc itself, but when I have tried this, the music content does not update on my wifes itunes library, after I have added music to mine (ie imported a CD), even though I have linked my wife's music library for itunes purposes to my music folder (hopefully that makes sense!!). Can anyone help as this is driving me mad, otherwise I will just have to run from my account and delete all of my wifes apps etc whenever I sync my phone, and vice versa.
    Thanks!!!

  • More than 1 ipod user on one computer

We have only one family computer, but 3 ipod NANO users.
How does each ipod user create their own music library?
Once the first ipod user was set up with their music, the
second ipod user started getting the music automatically downloaded, which was not wanted.

Try the instructions in this article.

  • Can i sync more than 1 ipod touch with one itunes account?

I have two ipod touches, one for each of my kids, and i would like to know if i can use one itunes account for both of their ipods.  Do I need 1 account per device?  Also, as they don't have an email account, do i need to create an email account for the itunes account to work?

mate, just use one account for both, and create a playlist each, so that they have the songs that they specifically want, or they could probably both just have all of the music, it doesnt take much space up. And yeah, just have one E-mail account for the one itunes account, you could probably just use yours, or if not, your going to have to create another one. My whole family uses the one acoount, and it doesnt bother us, it also doesnt send me any emails, so its fine to use my account

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
That depends on how you intend to use them.

  • HT1420 i have more than 5 apple products.  how can i get them to all be authorized under one id?

I have more than 5 apple products and I want to have them all autorized under one id.  How do I do that for the itunes?  It seems ridiculous that apple would limit me to 5 products or less.

The limit is 5 computers and as far as I know that can't be increased- are you including iPads, iPhones and/or iPod Touches in your products ? If so then they don't count towards the 5.

  • Can I authorize 2 apple IDs on one computer?

I'm new to the communities so please bear with me if I post this inappropriately.
My husband and I both have iphones.  My two children have itouchs.  My husband has an ipad.  We also have numerous ipods.
We have two computers in the house.  When my husband first bought an ipod, we had a PC.  All of his devices have always been synced on the PC using his apple id.  When I got my iphone, I synced on our MAC using my apple id.  When the kids got itouches, they synced on the MAC using their apple id.
We discovered that anything the kids and I purchased on itunes on the MAC is available to all of us.
We would now like to use home sharing.  To do this, both computers must be authorized to one apple id.  If the PC is deauthorized for my husband's apple id, I understand he will lose his purchases on the PC (or at least they won't be available until he authorizes it again).
I understand that an apple id may be authorized on up to 5 computers.  But what about multiple apple id on one computer???
    My questions are basically this...
Can we authorize 2 or more apple id on one computer?
Can I authorize my apple id on the PC and have my husband's apple id remain authorized on the PC?
Can my husband's apple id be authorized on the MAC and my apple id remain authorized?
Can the kids apple id be authorized on each of the PC and the MAC?
Can we have 4 different apple id authorized on a computer at once?
Will authorizing my apple id on the PC de-authorize my husband's apple id?
How's that for asking the same question in lots of different ways?  I have seen a lot about a computer using the same id multiple times but nothing about whether I can authorize many different ids on one computer at once.
    Thanks for the help.

Each person in your home can have their own Apple ID provided it is tied the their own separate email address.
iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use.

  • How do I tell my iPad to only synchronize with one computer?

How do I tell my iPad to only synchronize with one computer? I can change settings before connecting to another computer, or I can slide the sync bar quickly when I connect to another computer. But I'd like to make a setting and not worry.

    HI Howard,

  • Hard drive says I have more than 300 GB available with a 500 gb capacity. Yet I get "Low Disk Space" error messages when I do anything.

Hard drive says I have more than 300 GB available with a 500 gb capacity. Yet I get "Low Disk Space" error messages when I do anything.
    Attempted solutions:
-I created a new User Account and I can download large files with no issues.
-I ran "Repair Disk Permissions" but still get warnings.
    Google Drive Warning:
    Spotify Warning:
But on my other user account I can use spotify and download large files, etc.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

can more than 1 iphone sync with itunes?

    mbraase wrote:
    This isn't a problem, but a question.
    1. Can you sync your iphone with remote to more than one itunes library (such as itunes on 2 different computers)?
Yes you can sync with more than one iTunes Library. I just did it today with the library on my Mac and PC
    if so then...
    2. Does the itunes have to be maximized for the remote function to work, or can it be minimized on the task bar at the bottom?
On my mac I can play the songs with iTunes minimized.
The reason why, is I want to sync my iphone with my mother's computer at her house, and put some sound effects on her library. Then I want to turn her itunes on and minimize it and wait until she starts working on her pc and then I can play some practical jokes on her making her computer make weird noises (sound effects on itunes).
Any answers would be appreciated by me (but not my mother).
Thanks, and happy pranking to you all

  • Allowing more than 1 apple ID on iPad?

How to allow more than 1 apple ID on iPad?

For what purpose? It is easy in some cases, impossible in others.
You can only have one iCloud account in Settings > iCloud,
You can have a different one (only one) in Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
You can have multiple iCloud accounts in Settings > Contacts, Calendars; some functions (Photo Stream, Documents & Data) can only be associated with the primary iCloud account.
Keep in mind that the iPad is designed to be a single-user device.

  • Multiple apple IDs with one PC... can we have separate PhotoStream folders/locations?

There are six iphone users in our household.  Four are still using the family PC.  I have been using PhotoStream ever since it became available (ios5 update?) and I like using it.  Can my children also use PhotoStream from their iphones without mixing all of our photos together on the PC?  They each have their own Apple ID.

    Hello Robyn,
Thank you for providing the details of your predicament.  Your household may benefit from having multiple user accounts on the PC to individually manage your photos and media.
I recommend reviewing the section titled "Create multiple user accounts" in the following article:

  • My iPad has a different Apple ID than the Apple ID on my computer. The iPad Apple ID has an email address that I no longer use. If I try to add the email address that I now use (and which is my Apple ID on the computer), it won't allow me to add it.

My iPad has a different Apple ID than the Apple ID on my computer. The iPad Apple ID has an email address that I no longer use. If (while on the iPad) I go to My Apple ID and try to change or add the email address that I now use (and which already is my Apple ID on the computer), it won't allow me to add it. It says : "Email address is already verified for another Apple ID"  I haven't really been aware of this as a problem until I tried (for the first time) to sync my iPad to the computer and became aware that certain things wouldn't transfer. What is the solution to this?

What are you having problems with ?
This post was about having updated the primary email address on an iTunes account via a computer - if you do that you might need to log out of the account on an iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version of the account for that email address change to be recognised on your iPad. If you don't log out and back in then an iPad (or iPhone or iPod Touch) might continue to show the old version of the iTunes account id.
