Move Constraints on another tablespace

hi all!
I have to move my constraints (PK) on another tablespace (now they are on SYSTEM tablespace)...is there a statement? ALTER ..MODIFY.....ecc.ecc
THANKS!
milena

I think this question follows on from a User, Constraints and tablespaces. Basically the users had been created without a default tablespace. The constraints were then created without specifying a tablespace for the index. Result: a SYSTEM tablespace full of primary key indexes.
I think in these days of RAID a-plenty the argument for having separate tablespaces for indexes no longer applies. So there is frequently no need to specify a tablespace when creating indexes (providing the user has a proper value for default tablespace). Of course, YMMV.

  • Move schema to anothe tablespace

    Hi
    During installation of one Oracle application , this has created "WIRELESS" schema in system tablespace. "WIRELESS" schema consis of table/index/LOB Objects. Now I want to migrate entire wireless schema to xx_tablespace. kindly suggest me the ways to do this.
    Thanks

    Have you read the documentation? Every single option for expdp and impdp is documented http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/toc.htm
    As Osama suggested:
    a). Create a new schema with the default tablespace set to the tablespace to where you want to move the objects
    b). expdp the old schema
    c). impdp the using fromuser/touser to put the objects into the new schema
    d). Drop the old schema
    e). Rename the new schema to the old schema
    Another alternative that wouldn't need expdp/impdp and a temporary new schema would be to use alter table move and alter index rebuild to move the tables/indexes directly. If you have partitioned tables, you'd need to account for that. You can do the same in online mode using DBMS_REDEFINITION
    Which option you pick probably depends on a few things:
    a). Downtime requirements - DBMS_REDEFNITION can possibly do the reorg with zero downtime.
    b). Size of objects in the schema and whether you have enough space for the extra expdp file

  • Move schema to another tablespace

    I want to move one schema and all objects own by particular schema to it's own tablespace (new_tablespace).

    I know it's long time since I posted this but I finally had a change to implement it.
    Thing is, if I execute command on one-by-one basis it works fine, but if I try block you guys posted it doesn't work. It ends with error:
    Error starting at line 1 in command:
    begin
    for tbl in (select table_name from all_tables where owner = 'FLOWS_020000') loop
    execute immediate 'alter table ' || tbl.table_name || ' move tablespace flows';are you executing this as the owner of 'tbl_name'?
    end loop;
    end;
    Error report:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    ORA-06512: at line 3
    00942. 00000 - "table or view does not exist"
    Cause:
    Action:
    begin
    for tbl in (select table_name from all_tables where owner = 'FLOWS_020000') loop
    execute immediate 'alter table ' || tbl.table_name || ' move tablespace flows';
    end loop;
    end;
    output of
    select table_name from all_tables where owner = 'FLOWS_020000';
    brings bunch of tables!!
    If I just run ...
    alter table FLOWS_020000.whatever_table move tablespace flows;
    alter index FLOWS_020000.whatever_index rebuild tablespace flows;
    ... it works fine.
    Because here you specifically qualified the table name with the owner. In your procedure above, you did not do that, so 'whatever_table' was assumed to be owned by whoever was executing the procedure.
    I am using SqlDeveloper 1.5.4

  • Transport table from system tablespace to another tablespace

    hi there,
    how can we transport a table from system tablespace to another tablespace(example users tablespace)?

    Assuming you are not trying to move any data dictionary tables.
    Use alter table to move it,
    ALTER TABLE my_table MOVE TABLESPACE USERS;
    Rebuild index after move.
    This will work on Oracle 9i and above.

  • I would like to move datafiles to another Oracle Machine

    Dear All:
    I have two Oracle Server based on Windows XP professional.
    I would like to move datafiles to another Oracle Machine. That is, I want to move datafiles from A server to B server.
    Do you know how I can transport these datafiles and how can B server recognize table, metadata, values from datafiles?
    Please help me.
    Sincerely,

    To rodenyli:
    Version is Oracle 10gR2 (first server and second server are same).
    I already create the DB on the second server but SID is different.
    I don't understand what you are saying.
    "Is the instance name the same?"
    I didn't create any tablespace and datafile on the second server.
    For example, the datafile name of the first server is ABCD.DBF. and I want to transport the second server. but the second server doesn't have any tablespace and datafile.
    Please let me know in this case.
    Thank you,

  • HT3523 I can play an .mov file but cannot open it to move it to another drive/disc/etc. When we try to open it, we get a message that says "The movie file for "beanmine.mov" cannot be found. Without this file, the movie cannot play properly."

    Sounds like you created a "Reference" file here. I.e., a "Reference" file is a file that tells the player how to play the data contained in a "Resource" file. When you try to open the "Reference" file in the QT Player app, the first thing the player does is check to see if the "Resource" data file is is still available where it is supposed to be. (I.e., moving/deleting the resource file or moving reference file without moving the resource file to maintain the relative path between the two will generate the error message you mentioned.)
    Also, can the lost file (which was deleted) be recovered from a Mac HD or an external hard drive?
    That depends. Deleting a file does not actually erase the data immediately. Instead, the operating system just tells the system directory that the space containing the movie data is available for reuse if/when needed. As time passes, the chance that some of the data sectors will be re-written by other data continuously increases. To restore the file normally requires use of a special utility that both locates and restores all of the linked sectors containing the "deleted" movie data in their correct order. Other methods of restoring files would depend on the software you routinely have active on your system. For instance, do you use "TimeMachine?" or orther software that automatically backs up your data periodically? If so, then follow the instructions for your particular application to recover a deleted file.

  • On 10.4.11 Mac Mail I get this: Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full. You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unnedded documents or move documents to another volume. I can't open mail.

    On 10.4.11 iMac Mac Mail I get this message: "Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full. You must free up space in your home folder before using Mail. Delete unneeded documents or move documents to another volume." I can't open mail to do this. I have reinstalled software but no effect. How do I get into Mail to delete?

    Found this on the "more like this" Worked like a charm!
    With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Copy the Mail folder and place the copy on the Desktop for backup purposes.
    Go to Home > Library > Mail > Envelope Index. Move the Envelope Index file to the Desktop.
    Launch Mail and you will be prompted to import mailboxes. Select OK and allow the import process to complete.
    After confirming all mailboxes were successfully imported and available, you can delete the copy of the Mail folder and old Envelope Index file from the Desktop and this should resolve the problem.

  • How do I move booksmark to another machine without replacing the bookmarks on the new machine, i.e combine a number of bookmark files

    I'm setting up a laptop and want to have all the bookmarks from my desk machine to be moved there from different accounts, but in end up in one file so that I don't have to have loads of separate accounts.

    You need to combine all the links to one HTML file.
    You only need a file with Anchor links like this:
    <pre><nowiki>
    <a href="https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/754997">How do I move booksmark to another machine without replacing the bookmarks on the new machine, i.e combine a number of bookmark files | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Support</a></nowiki></pre>
    If you export bookmarks to an HTML file then you create a copy of your bookmarks and you edit that copy and you do not affect the original bookmarks.

  • Is there any way to package a project to move it to another computer?

    I've got FCE4 projects on one computer but I need to be able to open and work on them on my MBP as well. Currently, I've got the projects in Dropbox, but when I open them, the source media files all need to be reconnected.
    I guess I could painstakingly hunt for them all one by one. Any file I have imported into FCE I keep in the same folder, but files created by iMovie and FCE [like sequence files] I have no idea where they are.
    Is there any way to package the project, like you can in InDesign? That software packages all related files into 1 folder so you always have them.
    Thaks for the help!

    I am using an external scratch disk, but there's not a lot in each project's folder. I need a way to pull everything a project uses and place it in 1 folder so I can move it to another machine. I have everything I've imported...it's just links to iMovie files [I exported rough cuts to xml, then imported into FCE4. I'm not sure why FCE4 is looking for the original iMovie file...] and sequence files that I need to be able to find.
    I was really hoping for some kind of automated function, like packaging in InDesign...

  • My music is not in my iTunes folder and I need to move both to another external hard drive.

    Hello,
    I have my music library in a folder on an external hard drive, my movies are in another folder and my iTunes folder is in yet another folder on the same external hard drive.  I am moving everything to another hard drive.  How does one accomplish this in this instance?  I know I can move the iTunes folder but that assumes that all my media is within that folder.  How do I move everything without beguiling iTunes?
    I hope this question is clear enough.

  • SFTP Receiver adapter - move file to another folder

    Hello Experts,
           Thanks for helping me so far.
           I have a new scenario IDoc --> PI --> SFTP (Flat File).
           The requirement is that, after the flat file is successfully placed in SFTP into a folder, the same file should move to other folder.
           Client has suggested this because to make sure that the full file need to pick up only after the successful placing.
           Please suggest your valuable thoughts.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
    I agree with both Janus and Hareesh.
    But still if you want to do it as suggested by client then here is the way.
    Use Option "Run OS Command after Message Processing" in your SFTP channel. You would have to do following things to use it :
    1. Write a SFTP script (or get it done by someone good at it) which does the following
          creates SFTP connection between PI server to SFTP server
          Moves the file SFTP adapter placed in first directory and moves it to another directory
    2. Place the script file on the PI application somewhere
    3. Mention the script file along with full path of application server directory where script file is placed.
    Here is reference of this option
    SAP XI File Adapter OS Command Line Feature - Process Integration - SCN Wiki
    XI: Operation system command - error catching
    Only thing which would change in your case would be that instead of batch file it would be script file which you would be using if your PI server operating system would be UNIX. If your PI application server is based on the Windows Operating system then you would have to manage using the batch file.
    Thanks,
    Amit
