Multi detail VOs can't get FKs value automatically in JDev 11.1.1.2?

Hi,
I have one master table and four detail tables, all the master/detail cardinality are 1 to 1, and I build a big VO based those five EO, and selected "composition association" check box and "Cascade Update key Attributes" check box,
When I create the new big VO record and enter the PKs, only the first detail VO can get the FK values automatically, other detail VO can't get FK values.
And I want to set other FK values in action listener binding with submit button, it really set the value, but database reports insert error because FK value is null.
So Can't ADF support multi composited EOs get FK values?
If yes, how can I set the FK values before database insert operation?
Thanks
zeroxin

Hi, Gabriel
Strangely, when I remove composition associations for all m/d EOs, in the doDML() of the first EO Impl it can get master view and PK value, but the second EO Impl can't get master view, it returns null, don't know why.
So I'm not override doDML() in EO Impl, but in managedBean I set the FK values when click submit button, now it is OK.
From the result, because remove composition association, it doesn't have constrains, so in the front-end, I can set the FK values because it is only one common field.

    Well, for more clearly! My problem is I must have the Unit Cost of Items, so I've got it in the cm_cmpt_dtl (table), but if I want to, I must create a relation that require 2 filed, they're Item_ID and Whse_Code.
    There's no problem with Item_ID, but Whse_Code seem to be the Mission Impossible (hix, I hate that film!!!!)
    I wonder if It was right to post this topic here. But anyway I just post my question here, hope I could get some help.

    Just add a tiny modify to check out the Batch_type
    doc_id = (select batch_id from gme_batch_header where batch_no='&batch_number' and batch_type = 0)
    Because the batch_no can be duplicated as we also create Batch and Filrm Planned Order.
    Many thanks for your support!

  • How can we get the value of the key field in a custom data model using governance API?

    Dear Team,
    How can we get the value of the key field in a custom data model, to be used for manipulation of the change request fields using governance API?
    Any kind of help would be sincerely appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Tushar.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for direction. Let me give more context on this as I'm interested to get more details..One of the issue was to read cross entity field values on UI based on user action and set other entity field behaviour...It is similar to what is being posted here.
    For ex: Reading MTART from Basic Data UIBB in MM MDG UI and set the field properties in some other custom entities say ZZETEST. This cannot be done using UI BADI as it only supports single entity at a time and not cross entity. So alternatively we found a solution where we can enhance existing PLMB feederclass cl_mdg_bs_mat_feeder_form by reading the model and the entity as needed as it it proved that it supports cross entity UI field behaviours and so business requirements.
    This is a workaround for now.
    So the question is How do we achive it using governance API for cross entity field behiaviours.?or what is the right way doing this.
    Can we do that using governance API and its' methods?
    In the Governance API doc you provided below has referring to below external model as part of gevernance API.
    The active or inactive data (before or during the derivation or the check) can be read
    with the external data model interface IF_USMD_MODEL_EXT with the method READ_CHAR_VALUE and
    the corresponding READ_MODE parameter. To avoid unnecessary flushes (derivations), the NO_FLUSH
    parameter should b
    e set to ‘X’.

    i have one input table and two output tables (name it as output1, output2). Selected rows from input table are displayed in output1 table. The data in output1 table is temporary(means the dat wont store in database just for display purpose).
    Actually what i want is how can i get all values from output1 table to output2 table with out selecting the data in output1 table?

    You could set the table's data model to be the same:
    output2.setModel( output1.getModel() );

  • How can I get command values from a VI executed by reference ? NEWBIE

    Hi,
    I'm running a sub-vi in a "Secondary Front Face" (excuse for the
    translation if not correct, I'm working on a French version). In order
    to run this VI, I pass a reference. All is working fine but I don't
    know how can I get the values entered by the user in this VI ?
    Actually I run a main VI wich contains a "Secondary Front Face" (this
    SFF is contained in a tabbed pane). In my diagramm, I pass a reference
    to another VI (by the name of the file *.vi). If my user enter a word
    in a text field, I would like to be able to get it in my main app.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
    You might take a look at the following tutorial for more information about calling a VI by reference. It's got some great visuals and examples.
    Tutorial: Calling a VI by Reference
    You might also consider just calling the secondary VI as a simple subVI, if you can spare the memory space when loading the main application, as this is the easiest way to input and output VI values.
    I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

  • I can not get link-value  from af:tree.

    Hello.

    </f:facet>
    </af:tree>
    //in java bean:
    public String return_Object() {
    Object ob = JSFUtils.getManagedBeanValue("processScope.ETSId");
    System.out.println(o);
    return null;
    In console I see null.
    How I get this value???
    I can get this value if i use treeTable instead of tree.
    Thx, Dema.

    Hi,
    not that I think it matters, but the processScope is not a managed bean but a memory scope. So if
    JSFUtils.getManagedBeanValue("processScope.ETSId");
    assumes a managed bean then this may be incorrect as most likely there exist no managed bean with this name. You should be able to access the process scope from AdfFacesContext.getProcessScope(), which then returns a Map, which you call get("ETSId") on

    Hi Ada,
    According to your description, you can't get the member when using the strtomember() function in your MDX. Right?
    In Analysis Services, while the member name string provided contains a valid MDX member expression that resolves to a qualified member name, the CONSTRAINED flag requires qualified or unqualified member names in the member name string. Please check if the
    variable is a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX)–formatted string.

  • How Can I get the value of a variable name stored in another variable?

    I have a scenario wherein i get a record as %rowtype as input parameter into my function and i generate a dynamic sql to check the validity of a particular value in one of the columns of the input parameter record.
    I have a variable that stores the column name of input parameter record whose value is to be validated.
    The dynamic SQL looks like this:
    'Select empno from emp where empname = input_rec.'||v_colname
    While using Execute Immediate I get the error - Invalid Identifiier -'input_rec'.'ename'
    On Googling I found that the input parameter is out of the scope of the SQL that's being executed in the Execute Immediate.
    Is there any way I can get the value of ('input_rec.'||v_colname) so that I can pass it into the Execute Immediate with 'Using' clause?

  • How can I get the value of the previous item

    Hi,
    I have a block with some records in it.
    I want to capture the value of the previous item of the cursor position
    for eg I have emp_no, and emp_name
    If I click emp_name it goes to different block ang brings up emp info. for that particular employee. but to get that I need emp_no
    I'm taking emp_name by giving
    emp_name := system.cursor_value
    how can I capture emp_no value
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
    try this:
      name := :blk.emp_name ;
      num  := :blk.emp_no ;
      sal  := :blk.emp_sal ;
      etc...Francois
