Multiple button selection in spark ButtonBar
Is it possbile without too much hacking to add an ability to select several buttons in <s:ButtonBar/> controll >?

A button bar is a logical grouping of buttons, and helps to differentiate between sets of grouped buttons. A HGroup of buttons may not always cut it. e.g: in most text editors, the bold/italic/underline functions are implemented this way and it has to be a buttonbar to differentiate between the next set of buttons (i.e: bullets/numbered bullets).
That being said, this is different from the spark buttonbar, as a navigator it has to select only a single item. I think the type of buttonbar you're after would be used as an alternative to a checkbox list in a limited space UI.
I've been searching for the same and found an extension to the mx:ToggleButtonBar which may work for you:

Using radio button selection in multiple tables
Hello All,
I've got a bit of a design issue and it being a Friday my brain is a bit foggy and I can't seem to figure out a solution.
what I want to do is have 3 tables. The user should only be able to select one line from any of the three tables.
I can do this by having events that clear down selection on the two other tables on any selection of the third, but the select buttons of tables don't really give the UI impression that only one row can be selected. To do this I'd like to use the radio button element.
so

choice - name
(o) - Anne
(o) - Bob
(o) - Charlie
Table B
choice - name
(x) - David
(o) - Ellen
(o) - Fran
Table C
choice - name
(o) - George
Here the entry in table B for David is selected. But any selection of any of the other options should deselected.
My thoughts are to use a radio button ui element, bind the "selected" value to a unique id for each row/table (an attribute of the node element for each table) and the value to a common shared attribute (not table specific).
Any better ideas - and certainly any which would mean I'm not going to have to maintain a lookup table of my unique ids and node elements to find out which one is selected?

ChrisOk - here's how I did it.
I created another lookup table which had a guid and reference to the element.
in the each elements I had a guid which I bound to the key for selection property of the radio button in the table.
I then bound the selected key property to an attribute that was common to all elements.
in my "processing" logic I read the selected key, read the lookup table - and therefore got the reference to the selected element.
Would have been an awful lot easier if I could have used a reference to the element itself as the "key" - but that was required to be a character field.

Spark ButtonBar is it possible to add a "custom" button?
Either is it possible to add custom ButtonBarButton components to a spark ButtonBar?
For example:
<s:ButtonBar>
<s:ButtonBarButton />
<s:ButtonBarButtonWithImage />
<s:ButtonBarButtonWithChildren />
</s:ButtonBar>
Or create a ButtonBarButton with children - like a Menubar?
P.S: I could use the MenuBar, but there isn't a spark version. I would need a style customization.I've tried your component. It will be very helpful.
I have a doubt (I think it's about List component):
Considered I'm using a vertical layout with one MenuBar (height = 40 ) and one Container below. When, the user mouse over any menu item the submenu is displayed over the container, even the submenu has more than 40 of height - like absolute layout.
How the submenu is added to the layer - over the container (it didn't respect the vertical layout ?!) (I didn't find in the SDK sources.)
How the x and y is setted since the layout is vertical?

How to set a payload field value only once for multiple instances selected?
The user needs to set a payload field value and then he can approve the task so the task can continue through the process, that's fine when the user selects one instance and sets the value in the task details section and then clicks the approve button, but how do we achieve the same behavior in a multiple way?, I mean the user can select multiple tasks in the workspace (in this case the details task page is not available and instead the following label appear "Multiple tasks selected") then if the user clicks the Actions drop down -> APPROVE he only gets the message "your request was processed successfully", so how can the user modify the payload field value only once for all the selected tasks so when he clicks APPROVE the value is populated in all the instances selected.

JTree multiple nodes selection problem !
I can not make my JTree to be in multiple node selection mode.
I have custom tree model and tree node class, the tree model class
implements javax.swing.tree.TreeModel, and the tree node is an ordinary
Java object.
In this setting, my JTree is always in single selection mode.
I have tried set the selection model after the JTree has initialized, and
it didn't work.
What I missed in TreeModel implementation ? Or should my tree node class
also implements javax.swing.tree.TreeNode ?

It didn't work.Just in case anyone wants to know, I did find the magic number of files, and what the problem is. I talked with tech suppot at Adobe, and they know the problem exists, but won't fix it. I did put in a request in the "Request a Feature" form. Read on:
The magic number is 40 Canon 1Ds Mark III Raw files, and clicking on three or more keywords. The key to not having the numbers of keywords counted incorrectly in the filter pane is to click on the keywords as fast as you can before it starts to write to the metadata. If you click on each keyword one at a time, and wait about a second or more between selecting the keywords, then the counts in the filter panel for the number of keywords is not correct in relation to the number of files that you have chosen to apply keywords to. The cure for this is to click as many keywords as possible as fast as you can before the software starts incorporating the keywords into the metadata.
I would suggest to Adobe, that a nice feature would be that one could click on as many keywords as one would want, to as many files one would want, and then have a button or icon that would enable one to then apply all the keywords at once, instead of applying them as you click them as it is now. I also would love it if Adobe fixed it now instead of waiting to fix it in the version of CS5. Someone on Adobe's support line told me that Adobe would rather wait to put this into the CS5 version than fix it now. I don't think that is right, but heck, I am only one guy who depends on this software to provide images keyworded to my clients in a timely manner. I would never run my business like this Adobe. If there is a problem, and there is, please fix it now, or give me some of my money back since your product has a design flaw that is having a negative impact in my ability to to my job and run my business.

How prevent simultaneous execution of multiple button threads?
My AS 3 program has multiple buttons. Users can select one and then immediately select another and this causes 2 threads that collide. Once one button is executing, I want the other buttons to ignore clicks.
I've tried using a lock:Boolean to indicate a button is being processed. Each button checks lock. My logic is such that when the AS 3 processor detects a locked condition, it abandons execution of that button. However, surprisingly, it abandons execution only termporarily ... once the the boolean is unlocked, AS 3 comes back and executes the button.
The problems are twofold: 1) the first time the 2nd button attempts to execute (by checking lock), when it returns (from checking lock) and attempts to pick up processing where it left off, it seems to forget where it was and does not utlimately complete its task(s); possibly variables have been altered, it is difficult to say. That is, AS 3 is unable to successfully pickup where it left off on the first button.
2) the second problem is that AS 3 incorrectly returns to button 2 after the lock condition is cleared. It persists and will execute that button.
Can anyone tell me how once one button is selected, the others can be locked out and won't execute?? Multiple threads from these buttons is a problem.

Steve @ U Iowadmennenoh - OK. The downside to that type of solution is that each button has to "know" which other buttons are on the stage at that time, but, yes, that should work. Do you think turning their visibility off would or would not be as effective as removing the event listeners? I'm thinking turning visiblity on or off is simpler and simpler to manage. Multiple line selection for RRI in WAD
Is it possible to select multiple lines from 1 query and do a RRI to the receiver query. Eg : Select multiple POs and then go to PO details query which shows PO details of multiple POs in WAD and both the results shown in the same web report?
I tried the below solution, but all I get is the display of the entire Master data dump and not the filtered values. Any suggestion?????

Yes. You can do this. You create web template with ANALYSIS web item. In the item parameters of ANALYSIS web item, you can set a property, single line or multiple for the runtime selection. Once you do this, you create a button option or context selection menu option to jump target. In the button (RRI button) in the command sequence, the first command should be SET_SELECTION_STATE_BY_BINDING and then, the RRI command to jump to the target. Hope it will help.

Multiple buttons for a given validation
I want the same validation to be done on the click of two buttons. In the "Conditional Validation Processing", I see we can
"select a button" which allows us to select only one button.
How can I select multiple buttons for a given validation?
Is there a way or do I need to create another validation for the second button.
Please advice.When you submit a page with a button the "request" value is set to the button name (not the displayed button label). After-submit events can check the request using :REQUEST or v('REQUEST') so you can build a condition like: :REQUEST in ('APPLY','CREATE')..or you can use a built-in condition type that checks the request value like 'Request is Contained within Expression 1'.

When button pressed: Multiple buttons
Regarding the 'When Button pressed' condition available in various places (computations, branches, processes, etc), it offers me the option to select exactly one button.
How can I make it so that I want the thing to fire when either Button 1 or 2 or 3 is pressed?
ThanksMartin - Whenever a page is submitted with a button, the request value is set to a property from the button, either the button name for standard buttons or the request value attribute for item buttons. In either a PL/SQL expression condition or in some of the declarative condition types that look at the request value, you can compare it to a list of values that you're interested in.
Note that the request value doesn't necessarily tell you which button was pressed. It tells you that some event set the request value. If your page can be submitted with a tab or with javascript that you put somewhere on the page, or if you've given multiple buttons the same request value, it's up to you to prevent ambiguity about the button-to-request mapping.

I used a DDIC table to exchange data. I forwarded the object_key and the F4-help application inserted the multiple objects with that key in that table.
The application which called the F4-help looked to the table (after pressing a button), grabbed the data and deleted the data in the DDIC table afterwards.

in my alv program ,i need to capture multiple line selections using checkboxes.
I have appended check boxes by adding it in the internal table & filling in field catalog.
but problem is i'm not able to capture multiple selected check boxes dynamically,
i could capture only the last selected check box,
option i found was to use class method get-selected-rows,but i'm unable to use it properly, could anyone explain in detail
i have already gone through the various examples in sdn but i am not able to work out.

I am using ADF table(Jdeveloper11g) and i want to selecte multiple rows it may be more than one OR all rows.
For that i added one Column to the table with Header Delete and checkbox

Problem is that when i select single row checkBox, onCheck() method of backing bean gets called multiple times(equals to the number of rows)
I think this is beacuse of <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id is same that is "checkbox" but i am not sure.Even i tried to assign some unique id but no any success in assigning Id with value Expression.

From the simillar post i follow the steps given by Frank.but problem with below step

Error(64,37): Static attribute must be a String literal, its illegal to specify an expression.

Handle multiple rows selection on Matrix
Hi all,
i'd like to know if someone could help me with multiple selections on matrix via shift + left mouse button on a matrix.
I got a matrix with one column containing a checkbox for selection. The matrix, on a UDO Form, is defined as auto selecting, so multiple selection of rows is allowed.
I want to add the rows selected by the checkbox (using shift + left mouse button on the selection start and selection end) column to the matrix selected rows collection.
Is there any chance to catch an event handling this situation?
I can add the rows in the matrix selected rows collection clicking the checkboxes one by one, but when i use the multiple selection i can't get any event handling this.
I know i couldn't use the checkbox for the selection and use instead the native function of sap b1 matrix., but this way is faster (and more clear, because you see the check when a row is selected) when you have multiple rows selected one by one
I hope i've been clear enough, and hope somene can give me an hint.

if I understand you correctly you want to select one row than shift+mouseclick some rows lower and the result should be, that all rows are selected ?
You can achieve this by catching the itempressed event and querying pVal.Modifiers.

I have an application that I am using a sparks buttonbar for it's menu. This menu is in its own MXML module, also the dataprovider is a sparks arraycollection, I've also tried a variety of methods in populating the arraycollection whether sparks or mx I get the same results. Everything works fine until I remove an item from the dataprovider in actionscript than I get an error #1009. Adding an item works fine. After removing an item and getting the error debug shows the correct items in the dataprovider and it shows the correct newindex from the indexchangevent. I've tried the original sdk for flash builder and several diff. nightly builds including the newest. With the original sdk using itemclick the app had error #1009 with a renderer problem. With the new sdks error #1009 is showing null object.
Any suggestions or is there a better sparks component to use for an application main menu (in its own module) which items get added or removed or renamed, and the dataprovider can be an xmlcollection or arraycollection or ...?
