Multiple conditions to Run a job ,on dependency

Hello Champs,
I have a requirement.
I want to create a job for some transaction with the selection varients. The condition is that job should be started after every 15 mins and ensure that the job is started again only when the previous one has finished.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Kiran

Kiran Kumar  ,
Schedule the job in SM36 as a periodic job, running every 15 minutes.
Put code in your program to prevent the job from running if the program is already running.
DATA: prg LIKE indx-srtfd. prg = sy-cprog.
DATA: w_string TYPE string.

WRITE: / w_string.
STOP.
ELSE.
WRITE: / 'OK  ',prg.
ENDIF.
*>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
O R
*>>>>>>>>>>>>
in the initialization of the program, you should add this to lock
to verify that is not locked
CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EPROG'
EXPORTING

EXCEPTIONS
foreign_lock   = 1

MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.

at the end of the program you should add this to unlock the program
CALL FUNCTION 'DEQUEUE_EPROG'

• Multiple conditions for the same button.

Is there any way you can have multiple condition (same type of the condition).
I have button that I would like to hide it at different stages.
For example I would like to have a button (Submit) which will be visible when
Status = Draft
Condition Type Value of Item in Expression 1 = Expression 2
P9_X_STATUS
Draft
and when also when userRole = author
Condition Type Value of Item in Expression 1 = Expression 2
P9_X_USER_ROLE
Author
Robert

Hi,
It would depend on when the fields get their values into the session. They may be below the button on the page but if they have a value in the session then the button's condition will see this.
If, however, you have only used a Default Value setting for the item, the value may not be in the session (even though it may be displayed on the page), so the button will not know about this value. In these cases, I set the default value using a page computation for that item that runs "On Load Before Header" and is conditional on the item being null. That puts the value into the session for other items to use if required.

• How can I pass multiple condition in where clause with the join table?

Hi:
I need to collect several inputs at run time, and query the record according to the input.
How can I pass multiple conditions in where clause with the join table?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards,
TD

If you are using SQL-Plus or Reports you can use lexical parameters like:
SELECT * FROM emp &condition;
When you run the query it will ask for value of condition and you can enter what every you want. Here is a really fun query:
SELECT &columns FROM &tables &condition;
But if you are using Forms. Then you have to change the condition by SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY.
Best of luck!

• Multiple condition : Error when starting a SWITCH branch

Hi,
In our Z Leave Workflow,I am facing the errors listed below.
Error when starting a SWITCH branch
Error during CASE evaluation in SWITCH mode for node 0000000158
Operator 'EQ': The value of the left operand cannot be determined
Error in the evaluation of expression '<???>&REQ.STATUS&' for item '1'
Unable to determine the value of component ''
It gives error in Multiple condition Request Approved? which is similar to standard WF12300111 node number 158 (u can say copy of WF12300111
This multiple condition works in some scenario But it gives dump at other scenario .
I have checked the value of REQ.STATUS in runtime. It populates the value as 'POSTED' in runtime,
Please suggest if any solution on this.

Hi There was some problem with task which was comprising class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS and APPROVE method. This method is to change the status of particular leave workitem.After running this particular task ,the status was not changin instantly.This method locks particular workitem and was releasing the workitem once the WF gets completed.Hence I was getting REQ.STATUS as sent.
I have changed that task with following code in new task...
DATA:
REQUEST_ID TYPE PTARQ_DEDUCTION-REQUEST_ID,
request      TYPE REF TO if_pt_req_request,
new_status   TYPE tim_req_status.
SWC_GET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'REQUEST_ID' REQUEST_ID.
CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EPTREQ'
EXPORTING
mode_ptreq_header = 'E'
request_id        = request_id
EXCEPTIONS
foreign_lock      = 1
system_failure    = 2
OTHERS            = 3.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE w058(hrtim_abs_req) WITH request_id.
ELSE.
CALL METHOD ca_pt_req_header=>agent->get_request
EXPORTING
im_request_id = request_id
IMPORTING
ex_request    = request.
execute state transition
CALL METHOD request->initiate_state_transition
EXPORTING
im_transfer_event = 'APPROVE'
IMPORTING
ex_new_status     = new_status.
COMMIT WORK.
CALL FUNCTION 'DEQUEUE_EPTREQ'
EXPORTING
request_id = request_id.
ENDIF.
This will create new status for leave item during WF processing.
Apart from that also added Wait for 2 minutes after that task....
Thanks for your help.

• Use_current_session = FALSE does not run my job correctly

We have a custom scheduler that invokes jobs based on schedules/conditions. Until now, the jobs were all kicked off in the same session. Since the record set to be processed is increasing, we want the jobs submitted in parallel.
So the main job is split into several discrete jobs & run them in different sessions (dbms_scheduler.run_job with use_current_session = FALSE). The programs & jobs get created successfully.
The program has around 12 arguments defined.
The jobs run; however error out with "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error" *(DBA_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS)*
If I run the jobs with this parameter = TRUE the jobs run successfully. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Hi,
This error seems clear,
character to number conversion error : at "XXA.XXX_ANP_ENGINE_MASTER_PKG", line 24
This is application code which the scheduler did run but the application code is throwing the error.
You will have to debug the issue occurring at line 24 of package "XXA.XXX_ANP_ENGINE_MASTER_PKG". You may be relying on something in your session which is not available in a background session - so the job fails when run in the background.
Hope this helps,
Ravi.

Please don't overwhelm us with so many details!
Just off the top of my head ... as a general approach ... something like
nohup proca
nohup procb
nohup procc
while (some condition checking that all three procs are still running ... maybe a ps -ef |grep )
do
sleep 2
done
procd
But, we'd really need to know what it is you are really trying to accomplish, instead of your pre-conceived solution.

• Multiple Conditions\Actions in a Workflow

I am in the process of creating an expense approval form with a workflow that has two Approval stages. In the first stage, however, the approver would be dynamic based on a selection in the form. The second stage approval would go to the same
person\group. What's the best\correct way to do multiple\conditions\actions in a single step? As an example of the workflow:
If Field1 equals Value1 Assign a task to Person1. If Associated Task is Approved create a new Task and Assign it to Person 10
there would be about 12 different iterations of the first step, Value2 Assign to Person 2 and so on.

Hi pjs, it depends on who the person is/how they're related to the selection on the form. If it's the user's manager, you can get that information by using the link below. If there's no real correlation to the selection made, then you'd have to make a list
with two columns- "selection" and "person to email." Then check that list against the selection and get the corresponding email for the particular approver.

• Error in multiple condition type switch

Hi,
I define a multiple condition as a switch for different processing branches for my
Workflow (all my attributes in the conditions are from the object).
I defined the Other Values outcome also.
When one of the conditions is true I received an error SWP103 "Error when starting a SWITCH branch"
It works fine when my process go to "other" outcome.
Thanks in Advance,
Ronit.

In my workflow the same error occured while using a mutliple condition with type Switch.
A short explanation of my workflow:
- container operation: errorcounter = errorcounter + 1
- multiple condition
1. errorcounter =< 4
2. errorcounter = 5
3. other values
- activity
- loop until (depending on outcome activity).
The first time while executing the loop went perfect, but the second time it failed and based on the message I guess it failed on the multiple condition. What I also notices in the technical view was that the errorcounter wasn't updated.
I guess the container operation and multiple condition bumped into eachother (somehow?) and caused the error.
My solution:
Put a wait stap between step 1 and 2 and it works fine.
I'm not sure this case is applicable to you, but may be a hint in the right direction. Good luck!

• Calculation formula userexit not working for multiple condition types

Hi,
we have a problem in the CRM ISA-B2B scenario where the custom user exit is only working for single condition type.
but we need it for multiple condition types .
the value of the subtotal is not being retrieved for multiple conditions. at a time only one condition value is being retrieved and shown in the webshop - shopping basket.
for ex:
we have scenario 1 where Y001 -Freight condition type is applicable for one customer.and Y002 is applicable for another customer.
when we are trying to show the subtotal condition value in the webshop by using a single custom user exit in the pricing procedure it is only working for either of the above 2 customers depending on the VMC cache status.
is there any problem if use the single user exit for both condition types?
and if it needs to be differentiated how exactly we can do that with the same logic in the java class.
Thanks in advance,
PSR.

Hi Arshi,
below is the code:
public class ZValFormula_ZZWI1 extends ValueFormulaAdapter {
private static String zzwi = "ZZWI1";
private static char  zzwiC = '@';
private static UserexitLogger userexitlogger = new UserexitLogger(
ZValFormula_ZZWI1.class);
public BigDecimal overwriteConditionValue(IPricingItemUserExit item,
IPricingConditionUserExit condition) {
ICurrencyValue val = condition.getConditionValue();
userexitlogger.writeLogDebug( "value saved for " + zzwi + " (" + zzwiC + ") = "
+ val.getValueAsString());
item.setSubtotal( zzwiC, val.getValue());
return val.getValue();
hope this would give more idea to look at the problem.
Thanks,

• Can a long running batch job causing deadlock bring server performance down

Hi
I have a customer having a long running batch job (approx 6 hrs), recently we experienced performance issue where the job now taking >12 hrs. The database server is crawling. Looking at the alert.log showing some deadlock,
The batch job are in fact many parallel child batch job that running at the same time, that would have explain the deadlock.
Thus, i just wondering any possibility that due to deadlock, can cause the whole server to be crawling, even connect to the database using toad is also getting slow or doing ls -lrt..
Thanks

According to documentation, complex deadlock can make the job appeared hang & affect throughput, but it didn't mentioned how it will make the whole server to slow down. My initial thought would be the rolling back and reconstruct of CR copy that would have use up the cpu.
I think your ideas on rolling back, CR construction etc. are good guesses. If you have deadlocks, then you have multiple processes working in the same place in the database at the same time, so there may be other "near-deadlocks" that cause all sorts of interference problems.
Obviously you could have processes queueing for the same resource for some time without getting into a deadlock.
You can have a long running update hit a row which was changed by another user after the update started - which woudl cause the long-running update to rollback and start again (Tom Kyte refers to this as 'write consistency' if you want to search his website for a discussion on the topic).
Once concurrent processes start sliding out of their correct sequences because of a few delays, it's possible for reports that used to run when nothing else was going on suddenly finding themselves running while updates are going on - and doing lots more reads (physical I/O) of the undo tablespace to take blocks a long way back into the past.
And so on...
Anyway, according to the customer, the problem seems to be related to the lgpr_size as the problem disappeared after they revert it back to its orignial default value,0. I couldn't figure out what the lgpr_size is - can you explain.
Thanks

• Running ksh jobs directly on EXADATA compute node.

My organization is in the process of considering the acquisition of an EXADATA applicance.
We have a 100TB database (V11.2.0.1.0) running on a 48 processor AIX P770 box. We process approximately 2000 jobs / day (using CONTROL-M) against our PROD ORACLE instance. All of the jobs run via AIX ksh scripts directly on the database server that hosts our PROD database. We want to simply forklift our current database to EXADATA, and we want to be able to run our current job set unchanged. Can we move our AIX ksh scripts over to the EXADATA compute nodes, and simply execute the jobs directly under Linux on one of the compute nodes?
We know that there are likely to be some syntactical differences between LINUX ksh and AIX ksh and are prepared to deal with that.
NOTE: We do a lot of processing using external flat files (usually loaded as external tables), and we write out hundreds of flat files for export to other systems using UTL_FILE. Given that, we would like to do our job processing directly on the database server / compute node where the files would be loaded from / written to.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi user6201670,
The short answer to your question is yes: it is possible to run ksh jobs directly on a database server. As for file storage, there is a limited amount of space on the OS disks, but for large data and I/O volumes consider mounting an external file system: be it DBFS, an external NFS device, or (as of GI 12.1.0.2) ACFS.
A few things to keep in mind:
- For critical services, plan on how to offer high availability in case of a node failure
- If data loads are a big part of your workload, think about how to load-balance between multiple database servers
- File processing by script with UTL_FILE is considerably slower than direct-path inserts via something like SQL*Loader
- When paying for Oracle licenses by processor, using database server CPU time to run dataload scripts can be quite expensive

• How to run a job (program in it) every 48 hours

Dear All,
Can you please tell me how to run a job every 48 hours. I am not able to find suitable job option.
Thanks and regards,
Atanu

Hi,
1. Go to SM36 give the job name i.e. ZABC_MYJOB
2. Click on Steps (Upper left corner - 2nd Button) and assign the ABAP report name .i.e. RSUSR002, Check and Save.
3. Click on Start Condition (Upper left corner - Ist Button), click Date/Time and specify the Start Date and Time.
4. Select "Periodic Job" and click on Period values now click on Other Period
5. Now input 1 in the Minute Box. , and check and save.
6. Again Check and Save. and Again Check and Save.
7. Now save the job.
This job will run after every 1 minut
(OR) try the below steps.
you can setup your job in order to start after an event.
After that you can get the event triggered from the Operating System:
- log into you Operating System with the SIDadm user id (at the Operating System level) and go to directory /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run
- Run the SAPEVT executable as follows :
sapevt YOUR_EVENT -t pf=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/DEV_DVEBMGS00_server001 nr=01
This will raise the event, and cause the job scheduled within SAP to execute.
In this way you can use the O.S. (u201Ccrontabu201D for example) functionalities in order to schedule your job between 9am to 6pm.

• Manually Running Timer Job "Content Type Subscriber" on SP Online

I need to run the "Content Type Subscriber" timer job on my SP Online instance because the default setting is hourly. This makes it difficult to build out and deploy content types quickly because depending on when you make the content type
change you have to wait upwards of an hour to see it published.
When will we be able to run timer jobs using the PowerShell cmdlets or some other way? Is there a recommended approach by MS to handle this scenario?

What you describe is by design, I don't have to use a content type hub to reproduce. Only add a site content type into a list can show this.
According to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms463016.aspx
When you add a site content type to a list or library, SharePoint Foundation makes local copies of any columns that are referenced by the content type and adds them to the
list's fields. For more information, see Fields and Field References.
In addition, SharePoint Foundation makes a local copy of the site content type and adds the copy to the content type collection on the list.
The new list content type is a child of the site content type. The value of the
Id property for
the list content type is different from the value of the Id property for its parent site content type, but otherwise the two content types are initially the same.
