Multiple file links in a single page: A better way to/efficient way to handle ?

I would like to ask the community how they have handled multiple file links in a single page. Sort of a pseudo database of files.

The website works best in Chrom or Firefox, still have to convert the flash header to an edge animate .

Depending on what other text you might have, you could use the data list component.
To get the text to have underlines, you will need to edit the repeated item. You can also adjust colors and fonts as well. The default rollover and selected states will probably not be the UI that want, so make sure you change those as well.
Now for the interactivity, select the datalist, and use the interactions panel, choose "On Select", then "Go To Url", the trick is to make sure the "When a specific item is selected" is also set. Here are the basic settings to get your links working:
Add new interactions for each item you want to be functional.

InDesign CS4 crashes with files ending with a single page

I work in the IT team of a French press group. Our users (OS 10.6.6, InDesign CS4 [6.0.6]) work on facing pages documents, mostly set up with one spread; some files end with a single page. Most of our users complain about the fact that they always have to add a blank page (right to the single page) to avoid crashing. They never crash when they work on files containing only spreads.
Has anybody encountered the same issue?

Working as a consultant for graphic design companies, I did not hear of this problem. But, it is an interesting one. Can you send over one of the files crashing (+images / fonts used)? Then I can see if I can reproduce the crash.

Printing multiple Payment documents on a single page

Hi All,
I am using a standard Program RFFOD__V to print the payment documents.When I execute the program with the provided variant, the output of this program creates spool request for Payment Advice . When I see the output of the spool request it prints 50 payment documents on 50 pages(One document per page).
The requirement is that the client wants to print 3 documents on a single page hence it will reduce the amount of pages in the printout.
Please suggest how can we do it. The Script attached to this standards program is a customized script.Do I need to copy the standard program and make changes to it or Can I achieve it only by changing the script ?
Can we achieve it thorough customization,if not , then please suggets how can I achieve the desired functionality.

That's one of those things that is just easier in some other programs. In ID you have to do your own n-up page.
You can reduce the overhead, though, but making your label 1-up to start and saving that. For the n-up page place the original ID file, then use step and repeat to make a grid of linked-file labels. Now there's only one file you have to worry about updating -- the single instance. The n-up file will ask you to update the link the next time you need to print.
You still need two files for each label, but you only need to work in the second one once.

Large pdf files only work in single-page mode

Does anyone know how to sort this out? I have a 3500 page PDF file and as I scroll to the *** end of the file, I can no longer view it in continuous mode as it keeps flickering. It loads properly in single-page mode, though.

RoboHelp HTML class all day.
Are you using RoboHelp HTML 6? If so, there is a new option
labeled "Mark of the web" that could be nailing you. When you
generate your WebHelp by double-clicking the layout, see if this
option is enabled. If so, disable it and your PDF links should
begin working. Note, however, that by DE-selecting this option, you
could start seeing the Yellow Information bar as Internet Explorer
ever so helpfully deems this as a security threat and blocks your
WebHelp until you click it and allow the content to be shown.

Multiple File Links

I understand how to make links to files through various means--text, buttons, etc.
But how might I manage a growing catalog of files to be downloaded. For example, each week of a semester a teacher has a new handout for the class. Each week the teacher adds that handout and some study guides to the web site.
After a while, there would be a lot of links to a lot of files. Now I suppose you could just have a new page for each set of files and branch off that way. But that seems kind of hard or too much work. Is there someway to create like a drop down menu to select categories and then files. For example and using a teacher again, a drop down box to pick classes the teacher teaches, you select the class then you get the files. And/or you could have another drop down menu for selecting which year's classes and study guides.
So basically, any good solutions for multiple/many file management?
Also along those lines, I'm guessing with so many files it would be best to have them on a central server with folders that never change or are moved for the sake of iWeb never losing the correct file link? Because I'm also guessing you can't upload linked files to your Mobile Me account so that they are stored there, rather than locally on your computer?

For those files you can drag them onto the iWeb page and resize. Then get converted to a png file that way but can be downloaded for printing as an image file. If the pdf is too large for one page and you want scrolling add it like in this demo page: Scrolling Text Box. With that method all you would need to do is replace the linked to file with the one you want to use. You can place the file any where on the server and link to it. Replacing it with a new file but with the same name will automatically update the website.
When you drag the pdf onto the web page as in the first suggestion iWeb will automatically upload it along with the rest of the site's files. No worry about where to keep it on the HD.

Multiple f:view on a single page?

Is it possible to have multiple f:view s on a single page? I want to have some parts of the page be displayed always in a specific language: f:view locale="de". Some other parts should just change the locale normally?
i tried it, but then the page was pretty corrupted... although I did not get an error message.

No, you can only have one <f:view> per JSP page (including any pages that page includes), and the locale must be the same for the complete response (because it's also used when the post-back request is parsed).
It's hard to say from your description if this makes sense or not, but why don't you use static text for the part that is always in German, and only localize the parts of the page that needs it?

How to print multiple identical-copies in one single page?

I need to print several copies of the same image in one single page. I've tried the following:
- selecting the layout 4-pages in one.
- printing 4 copies.
However, this produce 4 physical pages, with the miniaturized image.
No way to get 4 copies of the same image in the same page.

Is the "image" you wish to print a picture image like a .jpg?
I do this many times when I want to print 4 images on letter size photo paper. I use Photoshop Elements, but you could probably use most any graphic application.
I do a Select All & Copy of the image. Then open a new file with a letter size. I then paste the image on the page 4 times & move the image towards the 4 corners of the page. Then print.

Why does Muse CC 2014.3 create multiple style sheets for a single page site?

My Master page is empty and never opened. My single page has NO MENU option selected.
How can I avoid this or fix it?

Muse puts all the CSS that's common across all the pages of your site in one .css file and all the CSS that's unique to a given page into a separate .css file for that page.
At this time Muse does not special case the single page site situation and there's no option to merge the two CSS files or inline the CSS into the .html file.
I am curious what your primary concern(s) is regarding having two .css files?

Multiple pay slips in a single page

Dear Experts,
We have a requirement to print two payslips in a single A4 paper, This because the payslip which is being printed takes only a half of the A4 paper, The client doesn't what to waste the paper because the number of employees is huge.
So they want two payslips in a single page.

Multiple SharePoint PerformancePoint Dashboard in Single Page?

Actually my requirement is, I have two dashboards each have the respective pages. I could deploy either one dashboard only at a time. I could not deploy two dashboards in single page.
But i want to deploy two dashboards in same page. By the way user could see two dashboards and navigate to the respective pages in single page.
Because i want to categorize the pages so i would create two separate dashboard.

Multiple file browse items on a page

Hi,
A relative newbie so apologies if this has already been answered...
Is there a way to add an arbitrary number of "File Browse" items to a page and then programtically go through them and upload the files specified?
So a user, for example, goes to a screen and by default can upload 3 files however they have 5 files to upload. What I would like them to be able to do is instead of having to upload 3 files followed by another 2 files they could add two more boxes to upload files.
To complicate things slightly more I'd also like each File Browse box to have an associated additional field that is a file description.

No problem I've been trying out a few ideas and have a workable solution - although there is one thing that bugs me/I don't fully understand.
In the page I have created the user clicks 'Add' to add the file to the collection which it does successfully. However this also causes the file to immediately be uploaded to APEX_APPLICATION_FILES.
Is there a way to prevent this behaviour? Ideally no files would be uploaded until an overall page submit occurs. i.e. The only thing that changes until the page level submit is pressed is the Apex collection. Once the submit is pressed the process loops through the collection uploading each file.
If this isn't possible then I can work around it I think by allowing the users to update the collection and delete individual members which in turn would delete the file from the APEX_APPLICATION_FILES view.
I suspect that the upload logic is somehow wrapped up in the "File Browse" item so it's not possible to do it in the way I imagine but thought I'd ask anyway.

ITunes is creating multiple files/albums from a single album

Hi,
I hope I can explain this clearly. For some unknown reason on SOME CD's I put in and on SOME music I've added to my library (from my HD) I've gotten multiple album covers for one album. Let me try that a different way, each song on a CD will be displayed in cover flow as it's own separate CD's so that if there are 10 songs on Bjork's album, I'll have 10 different albums coming up in cover flow for Bjork. It's frustrating when I'm trying to scroll and more so on my iPod.
Any suggestions? Can I fix it?

*HowTo: Grouping Tracks Into Albums*
Excuse the long post, but hopefully covering all the bases (that I can think of) will help you fix the other issues you are likely to run into as you try to organise your iTunes library.
*Use an album friendly view*
iTunes will let you sort music on many columns, some of which are unlikely to group albums together. The most useful order for editing the library is probably *Album by Artist*. If you're not already there, select the list view and click on the column heading for Artist until it reads Album by Artist.
*One cover, too many tracks*
The iPod (and iTunes to a lesser extent) conflates two or more albums with the same title, most obviously with *Greatest Hits*. On the iPod this can result in one album acting as a combination of two or more. Selecting any cover gives all the tracks of all albums with the same title. The workaround for this "Greatest Hits" bug is to give each album a unique title - I tend to go for *Album - Album Artist* as this reads clearly in the iTunes browser. Alternatively you could use the wording as it appears on the cover or append different numbers of spaces for each different album. Somewhat oddly, setting different values for Sort Album doesn't work.
*Album not with others by same artist*
iTunes relies on the Gracenote CDDB database when identifying CD's. This often marks collections or anthologies of an artist's work as a compilation. In iTunes, however, the compilation flag has the logical function of grouping together tracks with the same album name, but different artists on each track, e.g. "Now That's What I Call Metal 666!". These compilations are then all grouped together at the end of cover flow. Most of us however, would expect "Greatest Hits" albums to be listed with the other albums by the same album artist. For albums which are essentially by a single album artist or group it is best to set the appropriate value for the album artist and clear the compilation flag.
*One album, too many covers*
Sadly the iPod ignores the Album Artist field when grouping albums which causes problems when some tracks list guest artists. You can simply mark the entire album as a compilation which seems to be the way iTMS handles it, however that's not an ideal fix. Short of waiting for Apple to address this issue (and as far as I can tell it goes back to the 1st gen. of iPods) we need a workaround. What I do is to put any additional artist info. in square brackets after the song name. E.g. *Track \[Feat. Guest\]* and then set *Artist=Album Artist* for each track. For anthologies where the Album Artist is credited as part of another group, e.g. for Cream tracks on an Eric Clapton anthology, I use *Track \[As Group\]*. For a track where the main Album Artist doesn't receive a credit, e.g. the first track of the Slim Shady LP credited to Jeff Bass, I just set the track name to *Track \[Guest\]* while still setting the artist to the album artist. N.b. I use square brackets to indicate this is not part of the actual song title and also use this style for Mix/Live/Bonus info.
*One album, still too many covers*
iTunes may split albums into two or more sections if some tracks from the album have different values for Artist, Album Artist, Album, No. of Discs or Part of a Compilation. Tiny differences such as trailing spaces, accented characters or variants of symbols can sometimes be quite hard to spot. The iPod is also more sensitive to case variations and may split or reorder an album that looks okay in iTunes. Normally overtyping the desired value for each shared field will complete the grouping of the album into one entity. Occasionally, however, this method seems to fail. When this happens I've found that you can force every field to update properly by adding some extra text - e.g. a trailing X, which once applied seems to complete the joining of the tracks into one album. Once this has happened the extra data can be removed and the album should remain properly grouped.
*Tried that, there are STILL too many covers!*
The Sort Artist, Sort Album & Sort Album Artist fields can be used to override the normal sort order. For example iTunes automatically drops leading prepositions (a/an/the) so "The Beatles" are arranged under "B" instead of "T". Occasionally different tracks from the same album can have different values in these sort fields which can also break up the grouping. Making the sort columns visible in iTunes can help with spotting & correcting such problems.
*One cover for multi-disc album*
Multi-disc albums are often listed as *Album (CD1)* for CD 1, *Album (CD2)* for CD 2 etc. To display these properly using just one cover, each disc should have the correct *Disc X of Y* values set, and then the entire album should be given the single title Album. Being somewhat obsessive I also renumber the tracks sequentially, working backwards from the last track (so that no two tracks ever have the same number) until I reach disc 1. BTW You can still give the individual discs different artwork should it be relevant so that the correct artwork will be displayed as the album progresses.
*One artist, many names*
With some artists, particularly classical composers, you should be aware of alternative representations of their names. E.g. 2Pac vs. Tupac. The menus will work best if for each artist you standardise on just one form of their name. E.g. make a choice between Mozart, W.A. Mozart or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and then apply it consistently. For classical music I tend also to use the Composer as the Artist & Album Artist and either discard the performer details or place these into the Comments field.

Switch between multiple quicktime movies on a single page

I want them to play in a single window but use clickable links to switch between .mov files. I am working in DW CS5.

It depends on the code you are using to play the movies but it could be done with javascript. Although unless you are streaming the Quicktime movies, like a youtube, you will be forcing the user to download all the movies to load the page. If they are not setup to stream then you might want to load a separate page for each movie. If you show us the code you are currently using to play the movie we can help you through the process.
