Multiple sections, each section different first/next page headers

Hi,
Ï'm developing a PO (purchase order)-document.
This document has 2 sections.
First sections contains PO-documents. Second section contains PO-copies.
First section has different header for first page and next pages for each seperate PO. So multiple PO's are printed and page 1 of each PO has different header than page 2 of same PO. This works fine.
For the copies I added a new section which is basically the same as the first except the fact that the first page and next page headers for the PO-copies contain the word "DUPLICAAT".
Section 1 still works fine.
However in section 2 all pages of each PO, including the first page, get the next-page header. The first page of a PO in section 2 does NOT get the different first page header.
Just to get it working I created a very simple rtf with 2 sections and 2 pages for each section. For each section I appointed a different header for the first page and the second page. The rtf contains only fixed text, no xml-tags. In MS-Word the rtf-template looks fine, each page has the expected header. I loaded any XML-file and viewed the PDF-output. Result: first page of section 2 has the next-page header for section 2 instead of the first-page header.
Is this a bug or am I doing things in the wrong way ?
I can upload the testing template if necessary.
Thanks in advance,
Jan Blok

Any suggestions, anyone ?

  • Problem with different versions of Page Headers

Gurus, I have a strange problem. I need to have different Page Header format for first page and another format for the rest of the pages. So as suggested in the forums, I did the page setup for Header and Footer with “different first page” option in MS Word. This is not working. I am still seeing the First Page Header format on all the pages. I checked the RTF, there is no section break or any other special breaks in there.
Any idea why it is not working ?. I can send the Word doc and XML input files.
    Thanks

  • Start multiple terminals each with different minicom commands - howto?

On login, I would like to:
    1) Start a small 80x24 terminal window.
    2) I would like that terminal window to run /usr/local/bin/minicom -C mail.txt mail
(This will connect to my mail server over a serial connection.)
    3) I would like the terminal window to hide itself.
    4) I would like to do the preceeding 3 steps several more times, changing step 2 slightly so that the rest of the line after the -C refers to a different capture file and different minicom "rc" file. This would result in 6 different hidden terminal windows monitoring 6 different machines.
Any thoughts on how to get started here?
I don't know how to invoke the terminal app at login.
I don't know how to specify that the terminal app configure itself to a particular screen size for just this purpose. (i.e. I don't wabt these tiny windows to be the default terminal size - just be tiny for the purpose of running minicom.)
How to I specify the "shell script?" that terminal shoul be invoked with?
Can I use the automation facilities of Mac OS X to do this?
    Thank you for you help.

    In Terminal,
    File > New Command...
Enter the command. With the resulting window active, go to
    Terminal > Window Settings...
Go through the various panels, and configure the window as desired. Then save,
    File > Save As...
The resulting file is a double-clickable document that will run the specified command. The window settings are saved. Make a document like this for each command.
In System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items
drag each of the .term files created above. Check the "Hide" box so that Terminal will be launched hidden.

  • The next page in not displaying in the SAP Script

    Hello,
I had one SAP script. There were two pages in the script and i mentioned the next page also for the FIRST and NEXT page as
First - next page --> next
and next -- next page --> next
Now, I am having 3 items which needs to be gets displayed using SAP script.
The first two items displayed properly but the third item is not getting displayed, as of the size of main window is small.
Whenver i am increasing the size of main window the third item gets displayed propely.
But i guess whenever the data will get overflow in main window then it should gets displayed in the next page, this is not happening in my case.
Can any one tell me, how to display the next page whenver the data will get overflow in main window?
    Please help me with this.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Darshana

    Hi Darshana,
if you use text element for the item output, you will need same text element on NEXT page. Check for Typos. Switch on sapscript debugger and check what happens.

I have a form that has multiple fields but has 5 sections. I have used mail merge to insert information but I can't get Excel to recognize that I need different names and addresses for each section. Please help.

Thanks for your response. I do believe I have the information needed for each form on a separate line in Excel. There is a first name, middle name, last name, city, and zip column. And field is entered on a different line for all the information. I'm really stuck.

  • In Pages, How can I get headers and footers to show up on more than the first page of each section?

In Mountain Lion, I considered myself a fairly expert user of Pages. Since "upgrading" to Mavericks, I can't get even basic things to work anymore. My current problem is that the headers and footers are only showing up on the first page of each section. A related annoyance is that if I copy the information in a header or footer, all the associated formatting disappears when I paste it. But the first problem is the one that matters — headers and footers that only show up on one page sort of negate the whole point of headers and footers.

  • How to generate printed document with "continuous" section breaks versus "next page" section breaks?

When generating a Word or PDF document from the HTML help files a "next page" section break is used after each topic. How can I get a "continuous" section break instead?

I've been poking around a bit more. Here's the deal.
New chapters will always start on a new page and have a next or odd page break according to the Start New Chapters setting. If ticked it will be an Odd Page break, else a Next Page break.
Topics within a book will follow the Start Each Topic on a New Page setting. If ticked, each topic will be separated by a page break, not a section break. Else they will be on the same page with no breaks of any type.
Topics not within a book will be followed by a section break.
So section breaks are only created for chapters and topics not in a chapter.
Hope that helps. Please post back if you find otherwise.

  • "Underlay following sections" push the other setions down to next page

I have a report with a few sub reports in it. I put the logest subreport on the left and use underlay following sections for the setion. According to this page.  http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do;jsessionid=E9DBA58955640B3AD851C4ED1F6D8ED0?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=c2001090&sliceId=&dialogID=19898326&stateId=1%200%2019900047
It works perfect if the report only one page long. However the subreports on the next setion was push down to next page once the logest subreport surpass one page. Is there a way to keep the other sections in the first page?
    Thanks,

    Thanks for you response.
I have updated the crystal report to 13.0.13.1597.
Still I am getting the same issue. I am generating the report in PortableDocFormat and exporting the byte array to download from the web browser. The application is developed in ASP.NET 2012 .net version 4.5.
I am also uploading 2 images of the final pdf that I am getting, for your opinion.
The report appeared in the first image is ok, where the first group has 2 child records and the second group has 1 child, but whenever I am changing the mapping in the database, where the first group has 1 child and second group has 2 child, my report is not working. as it is clear from the second image
Also after installing the new version of CR, my existing codes are not working, and giving the following exception in the line where ExportToStream is written.
Unable to cast object of type 'FileStreamDeleteOnClose' to type 'System.IO.MemoryStream'.
I have modified the existing code to overcome this exception.

  • How to change the header and footer in the Section Breaks Next Page using OpenXML?

I have a word document file in which I added a Section Break of Next Page, now I want to change the header and footer of that page.

    p1.Append("This is new section");

  • Using iWork 09 Pages I need the first six pages of a document to not be counted as page numbers. I need the seventh page to be numbered as page one. I already know to have a section break between pages 6 and 7 and to use inspector "start at." Not working

In the book I'm formatting, the first page is the title page, the second page is the copyright page, the third through fifth pages are the table of contents, the sixth page is blank, then the text (which I want to number as page one) is the introduction. I have section breaks between the title page, the copyright page, the table of contents, and the introduction. Using the Inspector, Layout, Section, and selecting "Start at" 7 doesn't do anything!

Is is a bit tricky, but it works. On your 6th page (the blank one) go to Insert > Section Break. This will give you a 7th page. Then go to Inspector (blue circle with a white letter i in it) and go to Layout Inspector (2nd tab). Once in thee, go to Section. Check "Start at" and enter the number 1. Then ensure all other toons I there are unchecked.
Then go to Insert, and select Auto Page Numbers. You will find that your 7th page is numbered 1 as you want, but the first six pages will be numbered 1 to 6, which you don't want. But you can then delete the page numbering in that 1st section, leaving your 2nd section, beginning at page 7, numbered as page 1. You'll need to play around a bit as I did, and I would suggest using a test document to play with so you can undo any unwanted actions etc, but with tweaking around, it's doable. This took me ages to sort, so if it works for you, please give me the points :-)

  • How to save each section report into different excel sheet?

    Hi all
How to save each section report into different excel sheet?
I have a report in which there are 4 sections north south west east now i need to save north in excel sheet 1 , south in sheet2, west in sheet3, and east in sheet4. under each section there is list report.
Please let me know is it possible are not if possible let me no the procedure to be followed.
    Thank you

If you're running XI 3.1 you might be able to solve this as follows.
    1. Create four users: east, west, north, south
    2. Create a profile that filters on the variable you used for the section/break
    3. Publish the report
3.1 Set users created above to be the enterprise recipients
3.2 Add personalization (the profile created above)
3.3 Check the Deliver objects to each user in Destinations
(3.4 You could use %SI_OWNER% to get a nice suffix to the report name)
This should cause four reports to be created, each with its own "personalized" contents.

  • How do the headers in each section different

I am writing a procedures book and I want to have each procedure as a different section. I want to rename the headers in each section differently and I want the table of contents to find the header font for each section.
In short I just want to know how to rename each section differently
    Thanks

With the cursor in the body of your document, go to the Layout Inspector > Section & uncheck Use previous headers & footers.

  • How do you print two-sided in In Design when some sections have an odd number of pages?

I'm new to In Design, and I'm trying to do something that seems pretty basic and having trouble figuring out how to do it, and I haven't found anything in the Adobe Forum or online that addresses this situation.
I am working on a document that is broken into sections, with page numbering starting on Page 1 for each section.  I have mirror image layouts for the odd and even master pages - for example, the page number is on the left side on even pages and on the right side for odd pages, as you might generally expect to see on a two-sided printout, where in a book or a binder, the even pages are on the left and the odd pages are on the right.
I'm printing the document from my computer onto a printer that supports two-sided printing.  I don't see any options in the File / Print window for two sided printing, so I set this option on the printer itself using the [Setup...] button at the bottom of the window.  This works - I am getting the printout on both sides of the sheets of paper.
At the moment, the first section is 3 pages (two spreads, one with the first page, and one with the other two).  The next section starts with page number 1 on the third spread (one page) and then continues two pages per spread - all as expected.
Here's the problem - the first page of the second section is printing on the back of the last sheet of first section, rather than starting on a new front-facing sheet - so when I put this in a binder, the odd pages are on the left and the even pages on the right.  Every time I hit the end of another section with an odd number of pages, it flips around again.
There's a manual workaround I found - scan through the document and add a blank page to the end of every section that has an odd number of pages (and check "Print Blank Pages).  But I'd have to do this every time I print as I'm adding new pages, and add/delete blank pages as the number in each section changes.
I can't believe that In Design doesn't provide a way to get this to work properly, as I'm sure many people have had this same situation, and I'm hoping that it's some simple thing that I just haven't been able to figure out...
    HELP!!! (thanks!  B^)

Well, MS Word does something like this automatically - if you tell it to start a new section on an odd page, and if the section before it ends on an odd page, it will "skip" the even page number in between - and when it prints, it automatically spits out a blank page in between them, so that on a two-sided printer, the odd pages all print on the front of the paper (which is the right-facing sheet when they are put in a binder or book).
InDesign shows the pages like this on the spreads (odd page numbers always on the right), so it is aware of the desired orientation, and I'd think it would provide a mechanism to ensure that they print out this way as well...

  • Is it Possible to set Top and Bottom Margin for each section?

I've been googling and haven't found an answer to this problem.
I need to specify a different top and bottom margin for each section in my document. The "document margins" apply to the whole document, so I've set those to a low amount, and I can set the Layout Left and right margins - but the "Layout Margins" do not allow "top and bottom" only "before and after". This is a critical difference, because if you have 2 pages in a section, only the first page gets the "before" margin, and only the 2nd page gets the "after" margin. This is a little odd, and I'm frankly surprised we are in version 4 of this app - and you can't set top and bottom margins for each section.
If you insert a "layout break" on each page, then you can get the margins to reset for each page inside a section, but this is not an acceptable workaround as I need to setup templates for staff to use that will "flow" like a normal word processor.
Does any one have any suggestions?

On page 49 in the English Guide version it tells you about Lay-out margins. This is the text
    *Defining Layout Margins*
*In a word processing document, a layout margin is the space around columns in a*
    layout.
*To change the layout margin in a word processing document:*
    *1 Click in a column.*
*2 Click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Layout button, and then click Layout.*
*3 To change the outside margins of the column(s), enter values in the Left and Right*
    *fields under Layout Margins.*
*4 To specify the amount of space above and below the column(s), enter values in the*
*Before and After fields under Layout Margins.*
*The new margins can’t extend outside the page margins set for the document in the*
    *Document inspector.*
    I hope this helps.

  • How to run a webdynpro multiple times by passing different parameters each time and save webpages with parameter name?

    Hi Experts,
I am a BW consultant and new to webdynpro. Not sure how to run RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY multiple times and by passing different parameter values each time(either taken from an a standard BW table or user provided - anything is fine) and build web pages with parameter name. Need help with direction on where to start.
Let me step back and explain my requirement:
In BW we have an object called transformation.
One way of generating documentation for transformation is highlight transformation and press F1. Then its documentation will be opened as a local web page.
I need these web pages for all transformations. This is my requirment.
I came to know that RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY is beeing used to generate this web page.
The web link is something like below:
    http://ubw05.xxx.com:8005/SAP/BW/DOC/METADATA/?page=BW_O_D&SystemID=BWPCLNT100&ClassID=TRFN&ID=0KHR6J65AIIUTCJZEC093K6XDFV909PB&objectVersion=A&sap-language=EN&sap-client=100
When i run this link seperately(not by selecting transformation and pressing F1) i need to enter login credentials to BW system.
My challenges is how do i pass login credentials and multiple transformation IDs to generate multipe web pages with each page named by transformation ID?
WHere to start? First of all is RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY Webdynpro JAVA or webdynpro ABAP or can i use anything?
Since it is beeing opened as local webpages i assume it is webdynpro JAVa is that correct?
    Thanks,
    Raghu
