Muss ich meinen Mac mini über wlan neu installieren oder gibt es die Möglichkeit über externe Festplatte neu zu installieren?

ich möchte mountain lion neu aufspielen, hab aber keine DVD bei der Auslieferung erhalten. Muss ich jetzt über WLan laden, oder habe ich eine andere Möglichkeit. Bin erst neu im Apfelland ;-)

Danke erst einmal, für ein Youtube Video müsste ich erst einen account erstellen... mal sehen. War mit meinen bisherigen Notebooks aber eigentlich kein Problem, sieht beim Yoga so aus als müsste man die gesamte Rückseite abschrauben, aber auch das sollte machbar sein. Ich bin gerade dabei die ganzen Updates zu machen, damit ich danach dann auf windows 10 updaten kann, ich hoffe damit komme ich besser klar als mit windows 8.1, war ehrlich gesagt schockiert, fühlt sich wie ein riesen Rückschritt im Vergleich zu win7 an (das ich auf der Arbeit benutze), wahrscheinlich gewöhnungssache, aber den Flopp kann ich erst einmal nachvollziehen. Mit Windows Bordmitteln schaffe ich es nicht die C Partition zu verkleinern, dabei kommt die Fehlermeldung "Das zum verkleinern ausgewählte Volume ist evtl. beschädigt, verwenden sie CHKDSK um das Problem zu beheben und wiederholen sie den verkleinerungsvorgang" - kurze recherche zeigt, unter UEFI scheint die Partitionierung nicht immer ganz einfach zu sein. Mein nächster versuch wäre eine Gparted Livecd, möchte damit aber natürlich nichts kaputt machen. Wird das Express Cache Laufwerk unter Windows automatisch genutzt wenn es vorhanden ist? Macht es Probleme wenn das Laufwerk anders genutzt wird? Für Ubuntu würden die 16Gb locker reichen (bei mir normal 10-12 incl. aller Programme), bei bedarf könnte ich die dann immernoc tauschen. Bisher benutze ich ungefähr 150 der 256Gb dazu käme jetzt noch windows und die Recovery, sollte also noch reichen. Für die Neuinstallation erstelle ich ein Installationsmedium wie in der von mir verlinkten Anleitung? Was es unter UEFI zu beachten gilt bei der Installation von Ubuntu muss ich tatsächlich noch etwas recherchieren, es geht aber. War allerdings alles noch etwas einfacher mit standard bios. Ich habe ein Backup mittels einer Externen Festplatte gemacht.
Wenn ich jetzt meinen Mac formatiere, und das Backup wieder draufziehe, ist er dann nicht wieder genauso langsam?

I've had all my current macs since 2008 and they're still running like they did the day I bought them. You should check for other issues before you reinstall the OS. It's not a Windows machine, you don't usually reformat a Mac to speed it up.

I currently have a MAC Mini, which has 1 Firewire 800 port. I have a 1TB external hard disk that runs at Firewire 400. Can I insert another external hard drive that runs at Firewire 800?

Here's the deal. Currently running SL 10.6.8 on a MAC Mini. Planning for eventual upgrade to ML. Have a 1TB external hard drive partitioned into two volumes, one volume for Time Machine and one volume for SL which I periodically update using Superduper. Thus I always have a point-in-time bootable backup on the external hard drive.
The MAC Mini supports Firewire 800. However, booting from my current external hard disk is pretty slow, since it only supports Firewire 400. I am considering buying an Iomega MiniMax which supports Firewire 800. Then, I would use the MiniMax as my bootable backup volume, and relegate the older hard drive to Time Machine.
So, question #1 is, can I daisychain the new MiniMax between the MAC Mini and my existing external hard drive? My expectation is that the new Mini Max would run using Firewire 800 and that the existing hard drive would run at Firewire 400 speed as it does today. If it doesn't (e.g., daisychaining in the Firewire 400 external disk with the MiniMax Firewire 800 external disk ends up running the whole leg at 400), my resolution will be to run the existing hard disk off an available USB port and have just the MiniMax running at Firewire 800.
Why am I going to all this trouble? That's question #2. I don't trust upgrades; they always break something. When I upgraded from 10.5.x to 10.6.x, the web directories got renamed, and all of my web apps 403'd until I figured out what happened. Plus, I have accounts for other family members, and in order to ensure their ability to use the computer during my upgrade process, I need to have the ability to fall-back quickly to a known-stable version of OSX. So what I'm trying to do is insulate myself from problems by partitioning the MiniMax into two volumes, taking a Superduper image of my current installation on the Mac Mini to MiniMax external drive volume 1, then upgrading to ML on the MAC Mini, and take a SuperDuper image of that to MiniMax external drive volume 2. Then, if the upgrade results in problems I can't resolve immediately, I can simply reimage the MAC Mini from MiniMax volume 1. BUT ...
... I've read that the ML installation creates a "service and support" partition that is different than the startup disk. I'm concerned that I won't be able to reimage the hard disk in the MAC Mini once I upgrade it to ML because of the partitioning changes it introduces on the startup disk. Theoretically, I +should+ be able to use the disk utility on my SL system to repartition the disk in the MAC Mini prior to reimaging it from my backup, but I'm considering the possibility that the new partition may be of a type that the SL disk utility cannot identify, and might therefore be unable to delete or even detect. So I'm hoping someone else has been down this road and can advise me. Even at Firewire 800 speeds, booting from an external disk is still going to be slow, so I want to be able to restore my SL image to the MAC Mini hard disk.
A little background on me. I work for a major disaster recovery provider. I used to have a Mac PRO G5, which I got used, and the first thing I did with it was install a second hard disk, SuperDupe an image from the first disk to the second, and made sure I could boot from the second. THEN I started using and customizing the MAC. I really feel vulnerable with the MAC Mini, since it only has the single internal hard drive - sort of like going out in public dressed only in a long T-shirt. So my whole thing is, I ABSOLUTELY MUST BE ABLE TO PUT THINGS BACK THE WAY THEY WERE before I do the migration to ML.
Obsessive-cumpulsive? Yep. Anal? You got it. That's why I'm in the DR business.

Its worth confirming what free space you have on your drive:
go to: Apple Menu > About this Mac > More Info > Storage
The bar chart shows how much free space there is on the drive:
Please realise that partitioning does not create extra space so this wont help you.
If your free space is less than 20 % you should get extra storage with an external USB or Firewire drive, any make or model will work.

Kann CS3 nicht registrieren, die Lizenz muss ich vorher deaktivieren, kann aber aus dem Aktivierungsdialog nicht raus, weil die Lizenz drin ist

Hatte Probleme mit HD, musste neu aufsetzen, neu installieren und sogar diese Woche eine Diskimage zurückspielen.
Nachdem dass ich die Liz.Nr. eingegeben habe, meldet CS3 dass sie desaktiviert werden muss. Da ich das über die Software machen muss, sollte ich auf das Help gehen.
Das ist aber nicht möglich (nicht über Probelizenz und auch sonst nicht, der Aktivierungsdialog kann ich nur beenden und dann wird z.B. Photoshop runtergefahren.
Hat jemand eine Lösung?

I just clicked the "Download" and it jumped to my Downloads thing at the bottom of my computer screen.
I hooked a Cat 6 Cable from my router to my computer for better service rather than Wifi.
I'm hoping that after it downloads it will give me the choice to "Save" and I can then get it to go to my Lacie.
Hoping it gives me choices as to which of the two 256 drives it has also.

Ich habe die Msic Box von Pinnacle. Diese hat die normalen Chinc-Ausgänge und einen USB2.0 Ausgang. Da ich keine Chinc-Eingänge am meinem Rechner habe, möchte ich gerne meine Videos per USB2.0 aufnehmen. Premiere Pro bietet aber nur an, von der FireWire-Schnittstelle aufzunehmen. Gibt es dort einen Patch oder eine andere Möglichkeit mit Premiere Pro über USB2.0 aufzunehmen?
Hoffe mir kann jemand helfen.

es geht auch mit PP1.5 und Pro. Besorge dir das Plug-in von MainConcept, da erscheint im Aufnahme Modus - Einstellungen - der MC-Encoder und damit kannst du über USB analog aufnehmen noch dazu in einer hervorragenden Qualität. Mit dem Encoder kannst du dann auch gleich in MPEG exportieren, wobei ich lieber den CC SP verwende.

Habe heute meinen NEUEN MacMini Server geholt und musste feststellen das noch kein 10.8 sowie die neue Server App drauf ist. Muss ich das jetzt den jetzt auch noch kaufen oder bekomme ich einen Upgrade Code und wenn ja wie?

1. Simply put, updates to say 10.8 are free, but Upgrades to say 10.9 are not... a bit cconfusing since 10.9 client was the 1st free upgrde Apple has done, but apparently doesn't go for the Server add-ons.
2. In my estimation, if you can start over with the 10.8 Install, I'd go that way, I see nothing really useful about 10.9 over 10.8

Wenn ich mein Mac Mini (2012) einschalte verbindet er sich nicht mit dem W-Lan, ich muss es dann immmer erst deaktivieren und das Netzwerk erneut wählen dann geht es. Weiß jemand woran dass liegt ? Oder könnte ich ihn deshalb auch umtauschen ?

Mac Mini late 2009 und Handoff

wird die Handoff Funktion in der finalen Yosemite Version auch auf meinem Mac Mini late 2009 funktionieren? Oder wird zumindest eine passende Airportkarte empfohlen? Selbst ein Bluetooth Dongle wäre noch ok. Hab meinem Mini erst vor kurzem 8 GM Ram und eine SSD spendiert. Ich kenne einige, die noch sehr zufrieden mit ihren Geräten sind, die nicht aus aktuellen Baureihen stammen. Bitte macht die Kompatibilität möglich.

Windows 8.1 on Mac Mini late 2012

I'm trying to put Windows 8.1 on my Mac Mini late 2012 (as my Windows laptop is dying) but I'm not getting anywhere.
What I've done so far:
Use BCA to use Win8.1 ISO and make the bootable USB, it reboots, "No available drivers"
Use BCA to make the bootable USB and then extract the contents of BC5 (from http://http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1720), then use BCA again to partition the disk and reboot... again, "No available drivers"
How do I get Windows 8.1 on my Mac?
