My "3d" option menu wont highlight ANYTHING in PS CS5. HELP!
i have photoshop cs5 extended, and for some reason my "3d" option menu wont highlight ANYTHING and i want very badly to use the Repousse' feature... will u please help me get past this problem? the project i'm working on is very important. thanks

3D options require very specific things of video interfaces.
PLEEEEEEASE post ALL the details of your nVidia video interface. Make, model, amount of video RAM, driver version. All this is essential to give you more specific help.
Also, it would be very helpful if you would list what is shown for the OpenGL option in your Edit - Preferences - Performance menu (in Photoshop).
The thinking here is that your video hardware (or driver) isn't up to the task of rendering 3D features, but we can't really know that yet.
The standard advice if the hardware seems to be a model that should support 3D operations is to visit the nVidia web site and ensure you have the latest drivers to support Photoshop's requirements.
There are also some possible tweaks to force Photoshop to try to use your video card's more advanced features, but let's take this one step at a time.

Welcome to Apple discussions. I see this is your very first post here on iDvd forums. As already stated, most of us can't read minds. But I'll go ahead and assume you are trying to make the slide show within iDvd and not elsewhere like iMovie for example (where you might have better luck if you haven't already tried that). iMovie is a very viable option (no 99 photo limits) as are other apps (Roxio /Fotomagico, Photo to Movie) you'll find mentioned throughout this forum. However most are 3rd party and thus are not free. So I'll try and stay with those you likely already have ... hence the iMovie recommendation.
If iDvd's slideshow function is not performing as expected (not hi-lighting the button/s as expected) and you haven't exceeded 99 images and have played by all the other rules mention in the Help Menu; then it's time to disposed of iDvd's plist
Go to your HOME folder (the one that looks like a house) > Library > Preferences
over to:
com.apple.iDvd.plist
and get rid of of it by dragging and dropping to the trash ...
followed by a complete restart of your mac. Thereafter you need to repair permissions from apple's disc utility (within applications > Utilities > Disc Utility), and again restart the app.

Hi, Since having trouble with my wifi (which still is'nt working) the music on my phone is not playing. When i select a song or playlist etc. it quickly skips through album covers but does not play anything. Can anyone help?

Try Reseting the PRAM, It should fix the Problem.
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Password wont do anything on installer for CS5 (MAC)
When I try installing CS5 to my mac it wont do anything after I input my administrator password. I click the installer, put in my serial number, but once I get to the " Setup wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." It does nothing but dissapear and come back asking for my password again. I’m entering the correct password and I’m using the admin account. I tried doing an incorrect password and the setup box shakes (saying wrong password), but when I put my correct one in it just goes away and comes right back.
Tried doing a trail and the same thing happens.
I honestly cant think why its doing it.
I have been searching online and only found one post relating to the same subject matter.

Thanks in advancePlease try not only enabling the root user account but logging in as the root user. When you reboot you should have a, "Other," option. You will want to select this and type the user name as Root and then whatever password you specified. You can then try the installation again in the Root user account.

How to Display "Advanced Startup Options" Menu during Boot (NOT Restart)
How do I get to the "Advanced Boot Options" menu when booting WSE2012? I currently cannot boot from the system drive, the installation DVD or a bootable USB installation drive since the September 19 Microsoft updates were installed. I cannot
do a "restart" to get there since I cannot get into WSE2012 at all in the first place. No matter how I boot the system, I can never get past the "logo/progress circle" screen. I want to restore a system backup from before September
19 but cannot figure out how to do it since I cannot get to the "Advanced Boot Options" screen. I searched through my ASUS UEFI BIOS for an option to restart with the advanced menu displayed but could NOT find any setting for this. I am totally lost.
How can I do a system restore (i.e., recovery)? Please HELP!
Denis W. RepkeI've pretty sure I read that Microsoft removed the "F8" feature in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. In any case, I did try "F8" a couple of times on WSE2012, pressing and releasing it numerous times during the boot process, starting well before Windows
started to load -- and it did NOT do anything.
I also was amazed that the system would not boot from the WSE2012 installation disk from either of my DVD drives nor from a bootable USB drive containing the install files. Until this incident, I never had a problem booting from a "bootable" DVD or
USB drive on that server. It is also very easy to bring up the "Boot Menu" from my ASUS UEFI BIOS during the boot from which I can select precisely what boot device I want to use.
As I explained in detail in my earlier post on this forum, the only way I was able to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen was by swapping SATA ports for my system disk which "somehow" caused the next boot to automatically start "Auto-Recovery" mode
which finally allowed me to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen and recover the system files from an earlier date. After doing this, the system rebooted without issues. After booting, I ran a set of backups after using Windows Update. Then, I powered
down,"unswapped" the SATA ports and rebooted. No problems.
This was all very weird and frustrating. I still cannot believe that there is apparently no way to "directly" get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen during a hard boot. If there was, recovery would have been simple instead of several days of frustration
with a "dead" home server.

I'm trying to test a wordpress site via the browserlab - DW cs5, i can view the un-styled content but it does not render the attched style-sheet ?
I understand the instructions below - but i can't find the Options Menu described below ?

To allow permissions for the network locations associated with a particular file and its dependencies, initiate a preview of the file in BrowserLab, and then click the Allow button in the dialog box that appears.
Note: If you click the Deny button in the dialog box, any resources in the specified locations will not be uploaded to BrowserLab, and will therefore not appear in the preview.
To set or adjust permissions manually
To set or adjust permissions manually, follow the instructions below.
Choose Permission Settings from the Options Menu in the upper-right corner of the BrowserLab panel.
In the Adobe BrowserLab Permission Settings dialog box, click the plus (+) button.
In the URL dialog box, enter the path to the folder for which you want to allow permissions, and click OK.
Note: The URL you enter is the top-most URL. Anything in directories below that URL will be accessible to BrowserLab.
(Optional) Adjust permission settings as necessary. To do so, select a location in the Adobe BrowserLab Permission Settings dialog box, and select the Deny option if you want to deny permission for that location, or the Allow option if you want to allow permissions for that location.
To delete a location, select it and click the minus (-) button.

In the upper right corner of the BrowserLab panel should be a small list icon with a dropdown arrow. If you click on that, it should open the menu. The menu should have the following items: Permission Settings..., BrowserLab Help, About BrowserLab, Close, & Close Tab Group.
If you open that menu and you don't see Permission Settings, then you will need to update your DW CS5 to the latest version. You can do that by going to Help -> Updates, and in the Adobe Application Manager that opens, make sure Dreamweaver is checked, and clicking the Update button.

Odd Startup behaviour and cannot access tools- options menu
As of this morning my installation of LV8 will not display the normal startup dialog box (allowing you to open existing VIs or open a new one), but simply opens a new VI immediately. If I close this new NI then again instead of returning to the start up dialog it opens a second new (blank) VI. Furthermore I cannot open the Tools->option menu from within a VI front panel.
I've tried repairing the LV installation and when this didn't work I went for a full remove and reinstall - still no joy!
I've also check that this is not user specific, so that when I log in as a different user on the same PC I get the same behaviour

When you say you did a full remove and reinstall, how?
These are the steps I would follow:
The following procedure will remove the National Instrument Software:
1. Turn off the computer and physically remove or unplug all NI hardware that you have installed on your system.
This includes anything that is PCI-, ISA-, USB-, 1394-, or ethernet-based.
2. Turn the computer on and go through Add/Remove Programs (START » SETTINGS » CONTROL PANEL » Add/Remove Programs)
and remove everything NI-related. Generally, if you can remember, it is best to uninstall things in
the reverse order in which they were installed. For example, if you installed LabVIEW, then NI-DAQ, and then the
Internet Developers Toolkit for LabVIEW, you should uninstall the Internet Developers Toolkit first,
then NI-DAQ, and then LabVIEW last.
3. After everything has been removed (do not be concerned at this point if an item still shows up in the
Add/Remove Programs list after you have removed it), close all programs and restart your computer.
4. Go to START button of your operating system, choose RUN and type "regedit". This will open the Registry
Editor window. Go to the Registry Menu and choose Export Registry File. Select "All" for the export range,
and select a file name. This creates a backup of the Registry in case a mistake is made when deleting the keys.
5. Remove the following registry components from the Windows Registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ or \ISA and delete registry entries containing any
keys with 1093 in them.
Do not worry if any of these trees are not listed. Continue with the remainder of the process .
Note: You may need to modify security policies. In Windows 2000/98/95/NT, go to [regedt32] then
Security>>Permissions. In Windows XP you can modify security options using Edit>>Permissions in the
Registry Editor (regedit).
6. Close regedit.
7. Make sure that you do not have any of your own VIs or other files saved in the "C:\VXIpnp",
"C:\Program Files\National Instruments", or "C:\WINDOWS\nidaq" folders. If you do, copy them to a
different location. If you are concerned about keeping old virtual channels and your SCXI setup intact,
then backup the "C:\WINDOWS\niconfig.daq" file, too. Delete all folders and files mentioned above.
Note: If you have Windows NT/2000, replace "C:\Windows" with "C:\WINNT" in the paths listed above.
8. Save the attached file msiBlast.zip to your desktop.
a) Extract the file msiBlast.exe from the zip archive.
b) Double click on the downloaded msiBlast.exe file to run the executable.
c) Choose the Show NI Installers Only selection.
d) Using (Ctrl+Left Mouse Click) select all National Instruments Software that appears in MSIBlast.
e) Press the Uninstall button. This will uninstall all of the National Instruments MSI Registry entries.
f) Optional:
The Repair option will open the National instruments Installer Program and run the repair option within the installer.
Maintenance Mode will open the Installer Program and allow the user to modify the installation. To open the installer do not enter anything in the Command Line Arg? Dialog box.
9. Reboot your computer.
10. You should be ready to install your software. For the cleanest possible install, first install all of your
application development software, such as LabVIEW, Measurement Studio, etc. Do a custom install, so that you can
install just the application WITHOUT ANY DRIVERS. Reboot your PC when requested after each install.
Even if the installer does not tell you to reboot, it would probably be a good idea to do so anyway.
Now install your driver software and follow the associated user manuals. Some older non Plug-n-Play hardware
must be installed before the driver. Download the latest versions of the drivers that support your hardware
from our Drivers and Updates software library (link below), and install them one-by-one, rebooting after each
install.
11. Finally, shut down and re-install your hardware. When you boot back up, it should be detected in MAX.

Menu button highlights...25 seconds after menu already loaded!
I am not having a good day!
I go to my special features button click on it, it takes me to the proper menu, but no buttons are being activated...that is, 25 seconds later the first option finally gets highlighted! What in the world would cause this to happen?

im trying to update to newest ios version. but during the proccess, an unknown error accured, now the device wont do anything, just shows the plug into itunes screen. the device does not show in windows or itunes. the iphone wont do anything. i tried restarting, it shuts off and back on, but only shows plug into itunes thing. any ideas?
From my experience, the only way you're gonna get a PC afflicted with this disease to work with a 5th gen nano is to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes. Those affected have been exhausted by this ongoing issue. To update or not to update? And I always say never update unless you have to, and turn off all that auto update mess!
I have two core2duo lappies running 32b vista. My workflow dictates 32b fyi. One is acer aspire running itunes v 11.1 (.0.126), 5th gen nano was originally formatted and works just fine on this machine to this day. My other is the bigger badder lenovo thinkpad and the 5th gen will NOT mount using any version of itunes past 11.0 (.1.12) Windows mounts it just fine. itunes is not having it. no shirt no shoes no service.
I have both a 4th and 5th gen nano. The 4th gen works great on both machines, I even successfully tested it with the latest version (11.1.5) before subsequent deletion on the thinkpad! Weird huh? I think my next experiment might be to restore my 5th gen w/ a Mac and theeeeen plug it into PC itunez.
I'm at a loss on the thinkpad. Scanned for intruders. Cut the Lenovo bloat. Executed system and reg maintenance. Took down msconfig to a safe mode + itunes level to attempt to resolve possible sw conflicts but to no avail. NO NO NO. Every single dang port, every time on the thinkpad. Has me feeling like others might get the same treatment by the next itunes update. :|
So in summary for me:
5th gen nano and thinkpad are a NoGo on 11.1^ last working version for me = 11.0.1
5th gen nano is working on an acer aspire 11.1.0 but no way in the world am I updating
4th gen nano is kicking 5th gen nano's @zz so what would make me want to buy a new ipod? -
In the Options menu I changed the default download location (folder) to a folder I have on my desktop and saved the changes. But this option reverts to the default folder when I turn on my computer and open FF the next day.

I do use CCleaner and just ran it. It did not change the download option folder that I had changed from the default so it appears that this is not cause.

Tap Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Then in Settings make sure Cellular Data is ON. If you are in a WiFi area, relog into WiFi.

FF 3.6.3 gave me absolutely no problems, and with considerably more extensions installed. After letting 3.6.4 automatically update, the browser hangs every time I load the Tools-->Options menu. Sometimes I have to click through a few of the choices to get a hang, but it's bound to happen after only a few clicks through the browser's options.
I tried uninstalling the browser and all user customizations, then re-installing 3.6.4 from scratch, but with the same results. Using the -safemode options with everything checked didn't get me any farther. Ideas?

I was indeed running an older version of TortoiseCVS.
Getting rid of it made the latest Firefox build (3.6.11) fully functional!
Try the suggestions as I did, and then if that doesn't work for anybody else out there, try looking in Mozilla's reported bugs database for info on
"hangs" and maybe you'll get a good hit that applies to your sitiuation.
