My entire iTunes library has disappeared from my Itunes (except for 5 songs i purchased yesterday from iStore. Had about 300 songs!! Anyone know how this cd happen? Have Windows Vista. Computer did recent Windows update. Also recently renewed Trend.
My entire Library of songs (over 300) has suddenly disappeared from my iTunes. Only songs there are 5 I just purchased from iStore yesterday. Has never happened before. Windows recently installed some updates. I also recently renewed my Trend anti-virus. I have no idea where the Library went. Have done a Search of computer and checked Recycle bin....the songs are gone. WHAT happened????? Can I get them back from Apple somehow? Can I restore them from my Ipod? (I am afraid to plug in the iPod because if it Syncs, am afraid it will also dump all my songs. What can I do????

b & c) If you can still the view hidden files, see this Music from iPod to computer.

That's normal. When those files are back in iTunes they'll have the correct names.
Once the files are back to your computer (and only then), you should restore your iPod. It would appear that the hard drive has become corrupt and unreadable.

My entire iTunes library has disappeared. From reading other posts I see that this has been an issue. I'm not sure if it's related to AVG antivirus (but I deleted it anyway) or due to iTunes update. I noticed a week or 2 ago but haven't been back in the library since and was hoping that it would correct itself.
I went into my iTunes library and see that all my music is still located there in iTunes Media and iTunes Music folders--neither folder has all music. The previous iTunes libraries are 4 months old and don't have about 70 new songs, apps, books etc. that were purchased. I know that my iPod Classic has all of the music library located on it but doesn't have the apps from iPad, iPods, and contacts from iPhone. What is the best way to restore this. Please help! I am not techy enough to figure it out.Uninstalling AVG won't repair the damage, though hopefully it should stop it happening again. See this post for repair steps.

ITunes Library has Disappeared
Turned on the Mac Mini this morning only to find my entire iTunes library has disappeared. The finder indicates space on the drive implying the music is gone.
Further it appears that my account has been completely recreated - but empty.
(Desktop back to default - no desktop icons etc..)
I have backed up the library (80Gb) and can restore, but have lost the last two weeks of additions and ratings. Most annoying... Any suggestions?I moved my iTunes to an external drive, and my library disappeared, although both the library data base and all the files were on the external drive (but no longer on the internal drive). I then went to edit/preferences/advanced and changed the iTunes Music folder location. No result. I then selected files/library/consolidate library with no result. I held shift, started iTunes, and instructed the computer where the library data base file was, but this didn't help. I then read the iLounge artice on Transferring your iTunes library and figured out that this was all wrong and should transfer my files back to their original location on my computer. I did so and the library still doesn't load into iTunes. I've spent hours pouring through these discussion forums and nothing seems to apply or work. Any advice?

The user profile my appleTV was synced on my computer to no longer works (corrupt). My Apple TV is still synced to that profile and all of my recent purchases are going to that username. Does anyone know how to get all of the purchased items back and to the new user (same computer)? I created a new user on my computer and moved the itunes folder to the desktop but never changed the path to which the apple synced to. Now I can only see old items I purchased before the user profile went bad. PLease help!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Changing the library the Apple TV is synced with will delete all synced content from the Apple TV, but it won't delete purchased content.
You should be able to change the library, resync any content you want and transfer your purchases back to the new library. -
I have been trying to update my software in my macbook pro, but every time I go through the motions of updating/restarting my computer nothing happens and it still shows I need a software update. Anyone know why this is happening?
How large is your HD and how much space do you have left?
Check out the following & do the necessary:
Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
Try SU again.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius. -
Does anyone know how to turn off the pop-up iCloud log-in window on iPhone 5c. I have no desire to use iCloud. I have turned off iCloud in settings but that does not seem to deter the pesky little pop-up from continually asking me to log-in
ThanksPop up usually meant that icloud activation lock is still on on Apple servers. In order to deactivate you need to turn icloud back on by signing in and then sign out properly. For your sake I hope that you know the password.

I purchased the Killers new album and for some reason now my computer says it can't find the files. So I tried to download the album again off my iTunes acount but the cloud button won't appear. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer. -
My premiere project file size just went from 190MB to 5.61GB... and now it won't open! Anyone know how this happened? Or how to prevent it from happening again? Thankfully I saved a backup project of the 190MB file size.

My photos are not showing up as layers in the layers panel, only as one layer, so I am not able to make changes to the layers. Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I downloading them from my camera wrong? I have watched the video and the photos don't open that way on my layers panel. Any help would be appreciated, I would like to edit out the background and turn it a different color.

Photos from cameras or scans have only one layer (the 'background' layer).
You can start with that 'background' layer and duplicate it or add other layers in the editing process. For instance you can make a selection of a subject and put it on another layer; a common use is to desaturate the 'background' and to keep the color in the selected subject in your newly created layer. -
I downloaded the 64 bit version of itunes and plugged in my ipod touch but a sign pops up and says i need the right software for the ipod to connect which is 64 bit. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
