My homepage is Google but the logo and search box seems higher on the page than normal...can I adjust the position?
I had to set the settings on Google to Do Not Use Google Instant in their search settings as no cursor was showing on the google search box. After the change it seems that the Google logo and search box seems higher on the Firefox page. I would like to be able to adjust the height of the Google logo/search box. Please tell me if I can make that adjustment.
Thank you for the information about the zoom feature on Firefox. I had found that under the View menu (although I did find it was a temporary fix and the Tools/Options/Font method does change it for a "stick") and changing the font size does increase the size and enlarges or "moves" the logo and search box on Google but that also increases the font size displayed in the search screen. I was hoping to find a way to move the Google logo and search box down on the home page a bit but not change the font size but realize that may be too fine of an adjustment. The zoom feature added to the toolbar via customization may be a good solution for me. Thank you again for your helpfulness.

Is there a way to change the master text length in FCP? The default length is 10 seconds, which is too long. I can easily adjust the length but I don't want to do it each time, and I don't want to adjust a text clip and then have to copy and paste this each time. Ideally, there should be something in User Preferences but there is not. Thanks.
Maybe some one else can pipe up with a solution, but this would literally take 2 seconds to do for a new project. And you can create a "template project" that includes this "text" clip. Save this project and then to a get info and check "stationary pad." When you double click on this file, fcp will open with a copy of this project and you just need to do a save as.

You can't. Until the previous owner removes the activation lock, the device is useless to you; Apple won't remove it unless presented with proof that the registered owner is dead.

How do I change and set the width of the Address and Search box
Currently, the Address box crowds out the Search. I really don't need the Address box as much as I need the Search box. I recall a method of setting them using a routine in the Chrome folder but I sure can't find it. Can you help?

Before running the installer, but after the download completes, a file called InstallESD.DMG will be on your computer. This file contains a virtual installer disk you can keep for future use on a USB Flash drive or placed in another part of the hard drive that won't automatically erase. Mountain Lion leaves behind an installer in the Applications folder which can be copied to safe location before the installer runs, and same with Mavericks. -
Resizing of the navegation and search bars seems to work only with the default set of icons.
Unless the default set is restored, the double-headed arrows do not appear.
Do you happen to have Dial Assist on? This is in Settings>Phone. This is what helps the phone identify international numbers when dialing, based on location. See if turning that off/on makes a difference. Unless you are making a number of international calls, I believe this can be left off. See the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf Page 49 has info regarding Dial Assist.

My iMac will not boot past the logo and spinning gear (After a Rogue Amoeba update). I can't access the recovery disk I made on a flash drive. (Am I doing it correctly? - Hold down option while switching on? It just stays on the logo). What (if anything) can I do please?
If you installed Lion onto your machine, it should have created a Recovery HD (hidden from view, but visible in Disk Utility with its Debug menu enabled, under Show all Partitions).

After adding the latest update to my 5c iphone, the screen was black, with the itune logo in the center, a white arrow below it point to the logo, and below that, what seemed to be a white lock, but it had a long white line reaching the bottom of the screen. Apple logo and menu no longer come up when turning on my 2nd gen nano. However, if I just hit the right buttons the songs play and it runs normally. On occasion the logo and menu come on but it is now in chinese. Should I restore or Junk?

I have an article here that has a list of settings to get from your Email provider so you can make sure that the settings are correct. It has troubleshooting steps to try as well. Also I would recommend restarting the router, and/or testing a differnet network.

I have a iMac (20-inch, Mid 2009). On start up It will sit at the white screen with the logo and the wheel that spins under it. It will not go past this point? Any ideas?

These are related but not identical issues. Their causes are outlined in Intel-based Mac- Startup sequence and error codes, symbols. Solutions may be found in:

Mac OS X- Gray screen appears during startup
In most cases the problems may be caused by one or more of these:
a. Problem with the computer's PRAM - See Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.
b. Boot drive's directory has been corrupted - Repair with Disk Utility.
c. Critical system files are damaged or deleted - Reinstall OS X.
d. The disk drive is physically non-functional - Replace the hard drive.
Note that the information I have provided is what Apple recommends, If other users suggest different solutions than found here, then be sure what they recommend does not impact on your warranty, if any, or ability to get continuing Apple service.
Please don't start removing drives or changing cables unless you know what you are doing and have exhausted other non-invasive alternatives outlined here. If you perform any work yourself that is unapproved by Apple, then you will void any warranty you may have and lose all further Apple Support.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
The main difference if you are using Lion or Mountain Lion is that you must first boot from the Recovery HD. Simply boot from the Recovery HD to perform the above.
Reinstall Snow Leopard Without Erasing The drive

Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing The Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. You should be able to see two different tabs when setting up the email if you go to Other > Add Mail Account. Once you enter in the email address and password, you should be at the next screen to provide more details about the email as far as incoming and outgoing servers and at the top there will be a blue section to add it in as a POP or IMAP email account.
