My Ipad 2 shows 26.6GB drive even though it's the 16GB. Why?

So I ordered my Ipad 2 back in March and received it April 25th (Monday)
This morning I started editing a video for work, so I plugged my Ipad into my computer to access files.
In MY COMPUTER it shows the icon "Jake's IPAD" I clicked on that and it shows the IPAD drive.
It says, "12.6 GB Free of 26.6 GB." When I right clicked on it and showed properties it showed:
Used Space: 13.9 GB
Free Space: 12.6 GB
Capacity: 26.6 GB
I instantly thought they screwed up and sent me the 32 GB Ipad by mistake! not such luck...
In the ABOUT on the Ipad it shows Capacity 14 GB
on ITUNES it shows Capacity 14 GB
I'm starting to think they put a 32GB drive on my Ipad due to limited resources and blocked part of it
to only show 16GB - But I want to get more info before I start trying to unlock the drive.
In Addition, I have LESS than 1GB of Data on the drive, so the "USED SPACE 13.9" Is NOT true...

Hi Insanim8er: Was the storage amounts you quote showing in Windows Explorer? If so, there have been quite a few similar posts here. For some reason it doesn't recognize the correct space. iTunes still shows the correct storage space.

Close the videos app and launch it again.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
if they still don't show up after you launch the app again, try resetting the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

All songs not showing under artists name - even though spelling is the same

I have 8 songs by a particular artist. Only one shows under "artist". I have checked 5 times - spelling-everything is the same for the artist. All of the songs can be found under "songs". I have checked spellings over & over. What could be my problem?

There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song is marked as part of a compilation or 2) the song has no album name associated with it.
if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. If you are using iTunes 8 and view the multiple items info box the compilations setting is in the "Options" tab. Setting "Compilations" on your iPod main menu prevents you getting lots of single artist entries when you load an album by various artists.
Also if the tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances (for instance I read somewhere that if you have at least two tracks with different album names the rest will appear), however the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous to all the blanks in place of a title. If you've downloaded them on the iPad then they should be in the Videos app - iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store (the Purchased tab shows what content that you can re-download from the store and rentals can't be re-downloaded, and non-rental films can only be re-downloaded in some countries).

Well I finally had enough and completely re-installed WIndows 8. Initially this had no effect, but then I started getting error code '0x8000084 - unable to connect to iphone' which I took as a positive because at least now it was spotting there was a device even if it couldn't connect to it.
Going through the same steps as above I plugged the iPad into one of the USB3 ports on my PC and as if by magic, the iPad popped up and, as I write this, is happily syncing.
I'm running with a new i7 Ivybridge motherboard, I guess there must be some driver issues with the USB2 ports, hopefully rectified soon.

I want to create a new folder on my external hard drive for photos. Even though I added the new folder button to the tool bar it is not highlighted so I cannot click on it to create a new folder on this drive.

I have an external hard drive that I would like to pre-make a new folder before I import photos into it. Even though I added the new folder app to by toolbar, it is not highlighted and I cannot use it. It will only let me create new folders if I upload to iPhoto. That is not where I want to store everything. So I need to figure out how to turn on or activate New Folder on my toolbar for all possible downloading options.

If it's a drive that you've previously used with a PC, just double-check the format - click the drive once on the desktop to highlight it, and click cmd-i (the command key and the i key together) to see the Info window. That will tell you, under Format, how it's formatted.
If it's "NTFS", that's the current Windows format. You can read but not write to it with a Mac. If you want full read/write access, you should look into Paragon NTFS, which allows you to do both. Note that some features of te Mac (Time Machine, for example) will only work with Mac-formatted drives.

When I do a search, the file comes up under the new name, but it does not show a path, and even though preview shows the contents, I can't open the document (Powerpoint) and I can't move the document. I tried "Copy" and paste but it doesn't work. I tried "Share" with Airdrop and iChat, but the file is inaccessible. When i try to rename the file, it says the filename is too long.
When I try to open it, it says the alias is not good, and asks if I want to fix the alias. I'm afraid to do that and lose all access to this document.
Right now, it feels like a ghost document - it is on the computer intact, but it is in an undisclosed location and inaccessible.
Please help!!

I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.

I have tried resetting network connections and switching on/off wi-fi, and also reset using home and top button, still nothing.

Try going to the Wifi settings and clicking the little arrow next to your network, and click "forget this network" then try re-connecting. If that doesn't work, try going to settings-general-reset and clicking reset network settings. Also, make sure you have your network password correct if there is one.

This is the second day. I tried using a new Apple feed to test. Still not working. I uploaded a 50MB mp3 file. The first time the upload failed. The second time the file showed that it was uploading a 2 GB file. It has been about 20 minutes now and shows "3.5GB of 2.0GB 178% Completed". Now it has started uploading all over again - it is now showing 399.4MB or 2.0 GB - 19% Completed. I dont know if this will keep looping - but I am going to Cancel.
Please let me know what other information do you need from me. Definitely need some help with this!

I realized that my laptop only has 2GB of memory. It's a MacBook Pro 13in bought in 2009. Is it true that I'm able to upgrade up to 8GB of memory. Seems like 4GB of space is a lot for a single program to be running.. A bummer I'll have to save up for more memory.

My Inspector shows stills as 60fps even though my project is set for 25fps and a couple of other weird things appear.
1. My still default has been set to 5 seconds, yet photos appear in the Event Library as 10 seconds. When I click on one, half of it (5 seconds) is highlighted and can be dragged to the project/timeline.
2. However, if I select several photos simultaneously, the whole 10 seconds of each is highlighted and when dragged to the timeline each one is 10 seconds, not the 5 seconds I want.
How can I batch drag pictures so that they have a duration of 5 seconds?

Nothing to be concerned about. The download is available if you want to download Lion again to create an install disc or re download Lion on any other authorized Macs you have for free using the same Apple ID.
