No Japanese carrier provides unlocking services. Therefore, your phone must have been hacked to unlock it. That hack was removed when you updated the software. You need to be a legitimately unlocked phone.

Recent photos may be in your Photo Stream or in your iCloud backup if you chose to enable those backups.
If you were only backing up through iTunes and didn't complete a backup recently, then your photos are gone.

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. -
When I goto app store and select updates and then purchased it spins the hour glass and then go's back to home screen, anyone know the fix?
ATtempt to power off your device and power it back on, if that doesn't work reset all settings should resolve it for you

I sent an email from my iPhone 3GS (via iCloud account) with around 16GB of attachment. It slowed down the phone for a few seconds, then appeared to be sent. However, the message is now not in the sent box, and I can't see an outbox at all. Any ideas?
That changes things a little bit , login to icloud.com and see if you can find it in your sent folder.
If it is there you did send, just need to wait until you phone syncs "sent folder" perhaps on wifi.
If it is not, then I would say it is lost and you may have to send again. They have 20 megs limit, so make sure that message plus attachment is under that limit. -

Can anyone identify the extension MaggniPeica 1.5? It appeared in my extension list, and the only accompanying info is that it updated today. I have it disable for the moment. I am sure it is probably nothing worrisome, but I do not recognize it, and a Google search turned up nothing except some “almost matches” written in Spanish. I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. I hope that the reinstall fixes it without losing everything. Please advise!!! Yes, I am in panic mode.

Why are some jpg images scrambled when they appear in my screen saver? The same images look fine in Preview and Finder. Some images appear scrambled in the screen saver 'preview' window and the actual screen saver. Other jpg images look fine.
The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
