Unlikely as you do not meet there requirements for unlocking.
Have your friend the provided the phone contact them. Based on your statements I am concluding he was or still is an AT&T customer, that is one of the requirements of getting the device unlocked. -
i have 4 apps on my phone and 17 pics and my phone keeps saying storage is almost full.. i have a 16gb phone and it says only 12.1gb are being used, why does it keep saying my storage is full?
Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan. -
I am trying to use imovie and i have never had this problem before. All of my videos are completly grey and when you try and play them all i get is a black screen but i still hear audio. Can you please help and tell me what i need to do. Thank you
Make sure all of the videos used in the project that is having that problem are from the same event. If they are from multiple events, move them all into one event.

Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be to unsync the music and then try syncing the songs to the iPod
- Last would be to restore from backup. -
My iPhone 5 is a 16GB. The storage is almost full. Is there a way to add more storage, or do I have to buy a 32GB phone? I've had to delete my pictures and apps. I also cannot download any new music, update apps, or purchase new apps.
Upgrading phones is between you and the carrier if you are wanting them to subsidize the phone. Otherwise you would have to purchase the phone at full price.
Transferring purchases from the phone to iTunes is done with the device is connected to the computer, and in iTunes selecting transfer purchases. Yes, that will yield more storage on the phone when doing that. -
Mt iPhone shows unread messages that aren't there! I have held down the power and home buttons until blank screen and apple icon appear only to find it is cleared, but within minutes the unread messages reappear! Please help

Hello - ever since updating to ios5 my phone has been significantly slower. I close my open apps regularly and don't have a crazy amount (about 6 pages worth) but the phone is just very slow. For example, if I get a text message and go to open it, and then try to click in the text box to start typing, nothing happens. It takes a good 6-8 seconds before the phone even recognizes me touching the text bar which is incredibly annoying. The camera is often slow too, having a shutter lag of 10 seconds sometimes. I would wipe my phone and do a restore, but I think that will just restore all of my backed up data which will probably not work, and I really would not want to start from scratch and lose all of my 4 years of text message history, etc. Any ideas?
Very few apps run in the background since there is no reason or benefit for nearly all apps to do so. The overhwelming majority of apps are quit or suspended with leaving the app. An app being available in the recently used apps bar or dock does not mean the app is running in the background, and removing apps not running in the background from the recently used apps bar or dock doesn't accomplish much if anything.
How often do you power your iPhone off and on?
Try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
If no change after this, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup to see if this makes any difference. If not, you can restore again from the existing backup. -
Hi All,
Late last year I upgraded from tiger to leopard (very out of date I know) but ever since I have been getting warnings that my startup disk is full. I have deleted loads including pictures and itunes but still get the same mesage. I think when I upgraded the old version was stored somewhere and this might be causing the problem. Does anyone know where I would be able to find and delete - or alternatively have any other suggestions for what the problem may be?

80GB is a very small drive.
Sorry Noondaywitch, but omni disk sweeper isn't going to install in the space remaining, without more problems.
My Suggestions
1. Get a large (400GB+) USB hard drive
2. Copy all the contents of your home directory to the USB drive.
3. Delete all your files from your home directory on your computer after making sure everything transferred ok.
4. Perform a clean (destructive) install of Mac OSX and then the applications you need.
5. Check how much space you have left.
6. If there is less than 50% of the HDD space left (35GB or so), then consider replacing the HDD with a new larger one. If it's a white intel mac book, then this is very easy, and instructions how to do it are included in your 'everything else' wallet with your OSX DVDs etc.
7. If you can't replace the HDD, then it's time to consider a new machine i'm afraid.

Iphone is running slow and lagging
My battery life is not neccassarly anything to complain about. I keep the brightness all the way down and usually can make it through the day no problem. However, I have already lost my wall charger for the iphone (the little white one, smaller then the ipod charger). So I use one of my old ipod chargers and my ipod car charger which connects to the car lighter. Both are intended for the ipod and i occassionally charge it on my iphone dock using the USB cord.
About two weeks after getting the phone (ive had it for about two months) the thing starts lagging and completely freezes at some points when i simply hit the home button to leave safari or somthing. I have to wait several seconds for it to run through everything i just pressed to actually happen in a very quick few seconds. LAGGGGG!!!! anyways ive tried resetting the battery by letting it run completely down then charge it for about eight hours while it is off. But each time i try to plug it in when the battery is dead and keep it off it turns back on in my wall outlet and the computer, then i turn it back off and leave it be for 8 hours and the battery didnt even charge. I really dont want to buy a new iphone charger but is that what i have to do to get my phone working again. Or do the chargers not even matter and its caused by somthing esle?
Basically any help would be great and ive already read a bunch of forums on the battery life and stuff for the iphone but nothing had answered all of my questions. I just want to know if im doing somthing wrong and if i am what i should do nowSince there are no viruses that infect or effect OS X which has been available for over 6 years and counting, I wouldn't be overly concerned or concerned at all about a virus or spyware problem with your iPhone. With the 1.1.3 update, iPhone applications are no longer running as root. All applications now run as the user 'mobile' instead of as root and preferences are now stored in /var/mobile rather than in /var/root which is in advance of 3rd party "official" installable applications.
Troubleshooting steps in order are power the iPhone off and on, Reset, Restore. -

Hi, my iphone for some reason has just stopped working. I have no idea what happened to it! My phone would not turn on, even when I plugged it in. So I came back to it 5 days later and plugged it in. It thankfully turned on, but when I unplugged it..it turned off. Wouldn't turn back on. When I plug it in,all it says is that it's searching for a signal. We have a signal here so I don't know why it's saying that. I have tried restarting it MANY times and it isn't working. When I plug it into my laptop, the iphone doesn't come up on Itunes. I'm not sure what to do now. Please can someone help me? Thank you!
Also,when I unplug the phone it doesn't on or do anything. When I plug it into my laptop, the apple sign keeps coming on and off.

ok so I went to buy a an album on iTunes that I havnt used on the device before. It said I needed to do clarification questions but I cannot remember the answers to them. When I go to reset the questions it sends to an email that is now non existant. It wont let me change it what so ever, I cannot find it anywhere to delete or change. Please help
