My iPod classic will dload to 26.5 gigs and then stop syncing. There are 122 gigs free. Same results after restoring the factory setting and trying a manual download. Any ideas?
First time user on this forum, so I appreciate any help from anyone. I load up some 80-90 gigs of video to download and it takes in maybe 200 mb and says 'IPod Sync is Complete" I've restored the factory settings, tried doing it manually and nothing works. It will add to my iPhone, so I'm guessing the problem is with the device.
Sorry, Bilbo...I have the latest version (2.0.4) and have over 140 g. free space. Even movies that were on there early but have been deleted cannot be re-added to the iPod. I have followed the instructions in that link, both automatic and manual and nothing seems to do the trick. It initially acknowledges that there are some scores and scores of movies to download, showing on the spacebar that it anticipates some 90 gigs need to be synced. But then it says 'sync completed', lays down the shovel and calls it a day.
Any ideas outside the given solutions?

I created an alias precisely because I wanted to make it the new default name and then quickly realized it wasn't possible. How long after deleting the alias will it become available again so that I can create a new account with it?
I'm trying to make iCloud mail my primary email but I'm concerned that I may have lost the perfect email address forever.I have the same problem. After our wedding I've created an alias ([email protected]) to my actual AppleID Account ([email protected]). Now I'd the idea to delete the alias and my actual AppleID to create a new AppleID with ([email protected]).
Is there really no possibilty to do this?
Thanks in advance for quick and positive feedback. -

My friend gave me his old iPod because he had gotten a new one, but he doesn't remember the passcode to it and I wanted to know if I could restore the factory settings on the iPod to reset the passcode without knowing the passcode. Tried to find the removable device on my computer, but it isn't there. Any thoughts?!?

Recently downloaded new itunes when laptop upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Tried disconnecting and resyncing but that does not work.
The bar across the bottom of my itunes is not full for either device & I don't have an unusually high amount of 'other' on either device. I am only trying to sync the same amount of music etc as I had before the new itunes, so it should fit onto the devices no problem. There are no duplicate songs in the new itunes.
Completely stuck!I suspect the upgrade has confused the mechanism by which iTunes compares what is on the device already with what your sync options imply will be added. In each case backup the device and then immediately restore the device from its backup. I take it all media is in the library and you're not getting erase & sync messages. Otherwise, or if you sync any contact information, then take a look at Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for some tips.

My Ipod froze and a power symbol came on the screen and I couldn't get out if it. I then connected my Ipod to my MacBook and reset the Ipad to the factory settng. Now I can't connect to the intranet as the WiFi icon in the settings screen appears washed out and does not allow me to access my WiFi.
Any suggestions.DIM/GRAY

iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

HELP
Have you:
- Tried another network?
- Does the iPod see the network?
- Tried a reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Powered off and then back on your router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Setting
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Changing the encryption on the router? -
Please reply
From what the other system ? If the apps were bought from Apple then as long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them then you should be able to re-download them for free. They should also be part of the backup and restore during iOS 5 update

Ipod Classic will not shut off
Ipod classic will not shut off. Have held menu/select until apple logo appears, no change
Menu/Select is to reset the device, not turn it off. You need to press and hold the Play/Pause button until the display turns off. Then activate the hold switch.

I've added ios6 to my new ipod but tried then to restore the factory settings. It won't extract any settings and the itunes then tells me that the server cannot be reached or is unavailable. I've been trying all day. Now the ipod has a itunes sign and a computer lead pointing towards it on the screen and this is frozen. It won't switch off or do anything else. Any ideas as this is now driving me crazy.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Trouble syncing Apple TV. It will copy a few photos and then stop.
I have a 1st generation Apple TV, a MBR900 Cradlepoint wireless router, and an iMac. I lost the photos on the Apple TV and am now trying to get them back onto the Apple TV. When I go to sync using iTunes, it will copy a few of the photos and then stop. There is plenty of room on the Apple TV.
I have tried restarting the router, restarting iTunes, and unplugging and replugging in Apple TV. It will then download a few, maybe 10 at most, and then freeze. I am running Apple TV 3.0.1and iTunes 11.0.1 with Snow Leopard on the iMac.
Is one of the components not doing its job and which one?I have now rreplaced the Cradlepoint router with the Apple Airport Express. The Cradlepoint router was obviously not working right. I was able to set up the Airport Express in the quickest and easiest of effort. It then proceeded to sync with the Apple TV with iPhoto the more than 13,000 photos without a break in 3 plus hours.
Should have gotten the Airport Express to begin with. -
my ipod classic will sync with my itunes and it shows me all the songs have been downloaded. however when i disconnect it i only have 50 songs present on my ipod. in the settings it still tells me 15 GB is being used up. i have dowloaded nothing onto it but music. i cant find the rest of my songs on it. what do i do?

My iPod Classic will no longer allow me to create podcast playlists. It create music playlists. I've restored it twice. What is the problem?
Is the problem that you can create them in iTunes, but they are empty on the iPod itself? If so, I had that problem, and the issue appeared to be that playlists that used MediaType=Podcast didn't seem to transfer. If, on the other hand, I gave all podcasts a Genre of Podcast, it worked better. In general, with the older iPod classic, I found that playlists based on MediaType didn't work that well.
