I think j2ee 1.3 requires the latest version of j2se
1.3.1 (1.3.1.02?). I don't think it will work with

Also, if you have windows 95/98/ME, have a look at http://forums.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=13&thread=21673 to tweak your batch files

Adobe pdf server can not be loaded please reinstall adobe pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 6 and Adobe Reader 9 installed on a HP Elite 8000 Desktop with a XP image. I get this error when I try to create a *.PDF in Adobe Acrobat 6 from a Microsoft Word 2007 Document. If I go into MS Word 2007 and open a document and then send it to PDF Maker as the printer it works fine. I only get this error in Acrobat 6. Re-installing it has not resolved the issue. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Acrobat 6 PDFMaker is compatible with:

It is not compatible with:

After many test, I still can not finger out what is the real reasons casued this exception in HP-UX.
The possible risk is JES 2005Q4 requires some software and hp-ux bundles patches before install JES, but I can NOT find the exact version of them from hp web site, and use corresponding higher version to release them.

Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window

i am developing simple bean managed persistence bean. i want to know how could i use microsoft SQL Server as my database with ejb's in J2EE. i don't want to use cloudscape rather i want to connect through jdbc bridge with sql server. can any body help me out ?
i have developed DSN for my database with the name of DsnProduct and user name for DB is guest and password is guest123.
so do i have to change configuration is my J2EE server . or put some additional code. so far i have added the following line in my implementation class

I have changed the heap size but the status is same.

J2EE Server Problem

I have a WAS 6.40 Server(ABAP instance only), recently I had installed the J2EE stack 12, the installation has finished with errors, now I can't enter to the Content Administrator, I reinstalled the stack but I got the same problem, there is any way to uninstall completly the J2EE Server in order to start a clean installation?

Other than using the uninstall program as mentioned, there are some other steps to delete an Add-on J2EE installation. You can find it detailed in the SAP Netweaver WebAS Java Installation Guide from Service marketplace.

Please follow that PDF to do clean uninstall of your J2EE server.

PEAP + Dell WNics + ACS + NDS/eDir -- Can it work?

PEAP + Dell WNics + ACS + NDS/eDir + Novell Cert Server -- Can it work?
I am supposed to do a global WLAN rollout next year and would like to use PEAP, but we are a Novell shop and use the Novell Client. Should I attempt to go down this road, or take the easy way out by making the clients VPN back in?

Yes it can work if you have the correct Dell. There are two types of EAP. One by microsoft that comes with XP SP1 and downloadable client for 2000 etc. The other is Cisco's version that uses the aironet client utility. Microsofts version does not authenticate against any user database except those that support MSCHAP (microsoft only). Cisco's supports MSCHAP and many others to include NDS and Generic LDAP. You must use Ciscos for this to be possible. In order to use Cisco's you must either have an aironet client card or have hardware that has the "Cisco Compatible Extensions (CCX) builtin. Many vendors are jumping on the CCX roadmap and these extensions are being builtin to many laptops with builtin wireless NICs. If you have the right hardware, just download the aironet client utility from cisco website and configure it as if you had a cisco nic installed. The following Link has a list of the models that have CCX. Dell is one of them, just check your model along with what they have listed. Hope this helps.

JNLP with J2EE server

Does anyone know if J2EE server can implement JNLP. I can run the JNLP problem on my local machine. But when i put it on the server I can't get the path right. Does anyone know how to set the path correctly? And where am i suppose to put the files when i make the war file? Thanks

Restart J2EE Server

Hi,
I have installed SAP CRM 4.0 (WAS 640) with Internet Sales. The following are installed:
CRM 4.0 - ABAP/Oracle
Java Addin
ISA/IPC/TREX
How do I restart only the J2EE Server. It seems restart from SMICM does not work . How do I know that the J2ee is shutdown when i do it using the smicm t code. and how to restart it ?

SMICM --> (Menu)Administration --> J2EE-Server --> Send Hardshutdown or Softshutdown --> without restart
This indeed stops the J2EE server. To start the J2EE server again you must select: SMICM --> (Menu)Administration --> J2EE-Server --> Restart --> Yes
SMICM --> (Menu)Administration --> J2EE-Server --> Send Hardshutdown or Softshutdown --> with restart
This will stop and then start the J2EE server.
The status if the J2EE server can be checked in ST11 and displaying the dev_disp. In this file you wille see the stop ans start loggin of the J2EE server.

Anyone knows why I can't start the j2ee ..which I hope to use it as the JMS provider. I am trying to try the e.g. from JMS tutorial....
But it seems that I can't start the j2ee in the first place 'cos error say that I have another instance running...(but I didn't start anything in the first place). How should I solve this?
How could I stop the j2ee server....I tried the command
j2ee -stop but cannot..

I have also seen this problem on Win 2K and also Linux. It is not because some other instance of the RI is already running, but because some other application or OS service is using TCP port Number 1050.
The J2EE RI does not depend on this port, however, there is a config file called orb.properties in the config subdirectory of your installation. In this file, you can change the port number to anything you like as long as it's free. I changed mine to 1051 and everything worked fine.
