My old computer died, can I transfer iTunes to my new computer without having to buy them again?
My old computer died and I hadn't backed up my iTunes. They are stuck on my old computer. I got a new computer. I've saved the receipts for the tunes I bought...can I reload iTunes program and then retreive my songs? Without buying then again?
First sign-in from iTunes menu STORE > Sign-in
After sgined in, go to same menu STORE > Authorize this computer
Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

I will be doing a hard install to wipe my mac. I have Lightroom currently installed. How can I reinstall Lightroom on the new OS without having to purchase it again?
As long as you have the serial number you should not have an issue installing and activating Lightroom when you finish the system reinstall.

Old computer CRASHED, want to transfer iTunes to a new computer
Somebody help me please!
I'm trying to transfer my iTunes library onto a new computer but I'm having a lot of difficulty. All the methods I seem to've found involve using the original computer, but unfortunately that computer went kaput recently.
I feel like I should be able to get all of my files onto the new computer - they're on my iPod, aren't they?
Is there a way I can do this??http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=797432#797432

Just bought a new computer--how do I transfer itunes to the new computer?
Just bought a new computer(windows 7). How do I transfer itunes to windows 7 from windows xp?
You don't have to transfer from your iphone5 to itunes on your computer.
Log into itunes store on your computer using the same appleId you used to purchase those music, go to music library, and you should see all your previously purchased music with a cloud and down arrow symbol next to them.
Click on the cloud, and that song will be downloaded to your computer. Try to look around to see if there's any way to do all downloads at one command.
You should also go back to your old computer and deauthorize that computer from your itunes account, then authorize your new computer as one of the 5 allowed to playback itunes content.
The behavior of itunes may have changed with recent updates. In the past, when I plugged in my iphone to a new computer, I do remember being asked by itunes if I wanted to transfer purchases over. Give it a try and see what happens.
But whatever you do, if your current itunes library is still empty, DO NOT say yes to sync with iphone. It would wipe out your itunes library on your iphone because you would be syncing a blank libary over to the iphone. Sync iphone with your computer itunes library only after the computer's library has more content than your iphone's library. That's just to play it safe.

I deleted half of my songs from windows media player on my computer and can't play them in my I tunes library because the files can't be found. Is there a way I can get them back?
Restore them from the recycle bin if they are there, or your backup, or find an unerase or file recovery tool, or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if you have one.

I was hoping i could just sign in on my new one and get all the songs to it with out redownloading them.
It is a reasonable question - we increasingly see the ability to access "my data" through the cloud rather than relying on local storage. In the case of iTunes:
You can, in most cases, access and re-download previous iTunes Store purchases
If you subscribe to iTunes Match, your complete library - within the 25,000 song limit imposed by the service - will be available to you,
That being said, the most complete and reliable method is still to copy your complete library (database, media, artwork, ...) from the older computer to the new one. If you've configured iTunes so that all your music, etc., is stored within the iTunes Media folders then you can just copy the C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes folder and all its contents from the old computer to the corresponding location on the new one. Depending on the size of your library you can copy it across a network, using a thumb drive or an external (USB) hard drive.
If you have media stored elsewhere on the old computer the process is a little more complex. -
I had to sync my phone to a different computer and it erased my ringtones I bought. Is there a way to get them back? The computer I was using no longer works at all.
The songs are still on her ipod.
They should transfer ok but make sure and use the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase.
Connect the iPod to a computer, launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click File > Transfer Purchases From...
Make sure and backup the iTunes purchases > How to back up your media in iTunes
If this is an iPod touch read here > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to download new music to my ipod and a message comes up thatsays 'my ipod is synced with another Itunes library' {obviously my dead computer} and I can either 'Erase and Sync or Transfer Itunes purchases'. Is there ANY way possible I don't have to erase my music and can download some new stuff? Please help. Thanks- so frustrated.
Yes. I have no personal experience with this, but it is possible to recover your music from an iPod. See this link: http://guides.macrumors.com/Recovering_Songs_from_an_iPod

My motherboard "fried" on my computer when the fan quit working. I cannot access my hard drive on my old computer. I just downloaded ITunes on my new computer; assumed it would pull all my playlists in under my Apple ID and password-no such luck. Help Please?
If your external drive does not have an independent power supply, you may wish to consider a couple of lower-cost options before tossing the drive. Bus-powered drives have no external power source and must get all their power from the computer. They can exceed the computer's USB energy budget.
Cheapest option:
1 Meter USB 2.0 A to 5 Pin Mini B Cable - Auxiliary USB "Y" Power Design for external hard drives.
This gets power from two of the computers USB porst sna can provide enough power to wake up an under-performaing bus-powered drive.
If you don't have enough ports to use this, try the next cheapest option:
Newer Technology 7 Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub with Power Adapter for Mac & PC
Such a hub has a an independent power supply to make up for wahat the comptuer fails to provide. -
How can I use iTunes on my new computer, without lossing all my music?
How can I use iTunes on my new computer, without losing all my music?
I don't want to rebuy everything I have purchased over the years.
Your help would be greatly appreciated. They should be in your itunes media folder. Use an external hard drive and just copy that to your new computer. I'm sure there's an easier way like this one (iTunes>File>Library>Export Library>External Hard Drive) but I never tried it before. Anyways, once that's done, just simply authorize your itunes account to play music you bought on to the new computer.

If I buy illustrator do I still get updates, and can I transfer it to a new computer?
If I buy illustrator outright, do I still get updates, and can I transfer it to a new computer?
David,
No future updates will be issued for non CC versions. For CS6, the last one (ever) is 16.0.5.
You can install it on 2 computers at a time, and you can deactivate and install on new computers as you wish.
