  • Broken power button (the one on top right)+disabled ipod touch. From ebay, assuming I could fix it.

Broken power (top right, on ipod 32gb 3rd gen) button, Tiny Umbrella's not working. Tried RecBoot and STILL NOT WORKING Please help.

I have an iPhone 3G with a bad Sleep/Wake switch. I just keep it charges and use the Home button to turn it on/wake it. I have it timed to go to sleep after 5 minutes. I use this in place of the Sleep/Wake button.

Charge yours, open iTunes, hold the Home button down and plug the USB cord from computer into the iPod. If you're lucky and iTunes sees the iPod, restore it. Then try and use it like I use mine. Note: if it goes dead, I just recharge it--no need to restore again.

  • HT1384 My lock screen/power button on my iPod Touch is broken, and I need some assistance.

As the title suggests, I can not use the lock screen/power button on my iPod Touch, it is broken. I can use Adaptive Touch to turn the screen on and off at will, and also turn my device off. But if I turn it off, I don't know how to get it to turn back on. Could I just plug it into a charger and turn it back on, or would I need to plug it into my computer? Please help, in a few days I won't have access to it for 9 weeks, I need immediate help.

If you power off the iPod, it will turn back on if you connect it to a charger like a wall charger or a computer. I just checked with a charging source to confirm. I knew it did it with a computer.

  • Is the Ipod Touch power button also a volume control?

Ever since I got my iPod Touch, whenever I press the power button, the volume goes up one level. I never thought anything of it until I started wanting to take screen shots and the volume control icon ends up in the picture, which is REALLY annoying and no one else seems to know why.  I read around under apple support and in discussions, and no one else seems to have this problem. Is this normal? And how can I fix it?
I added a screen shot that I took on my iPod Touch so you know what I mean by volume control icon.

    No it is not

  • IPod Touch 4G Power Button Stuck/Spring Broken?

in other post i accidently said the home button was broken, but it's the home button sorry, for real it's the power button so ima correct it now . However i can't lock my ipod and even power it off is it broken or it's stuck i'm using Assistive Touch will Apple replace it (I Have No Warrenty Though)?

    - If Apple can't easily fix it (unjam), they will exchange it for a refurbished one for this price. I would make an appointment at their Genius Bar of an Apple store and hear what they have to say.
    - Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This".

  • Reboot/restart ipod touch with broken power button

I dont think my ipod touch is broken but it wont turn on, the power button has always been broken and it cant be repaired. Is there a program or something i can download to completelty restart my ipod, I dont care about my apps or anything. I just want it to work

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Instead of using the puttons to place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipod has a broken power button and the shuffle on assistive touch made my ipod frozen...its been frozen for hours

So...I was doing homework on my Ipod then this happened...I clicked shuffle on assistive touch on accident instead of clicking screenshot.Well my IPod suddenly freezes on the assistive touch menu with the gestures, shuffle, screenshot, and multitasking.Im having a really bad day...i just need my IPod back before my homework is due!By the way my power button is broken so i cant reset

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in Recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod touch is frozen on a screen with the ipod logo and the usb charger cable...i cannot get rid of it...i let the battery die...i held the sleep button and the power buttons..anyone have any ideas?

my ipod touch is frozen... the screen has a picture of the itunes logo and a usb charger. I have held the sleep button and the power button to reset and i have let the battery die and started to recharge...niether worked. any ideas???

Try charing it to 50% at least.
If all else fails, try putting it in DFU mode. Connect it to iTunes, (iTunes may not detect the device, but that's ok) hold the power and home buttons down for 10 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the home button until it goes into DFU mode. iTunes should detect it and ask for a restore.

  • Is there a way to turn on an ipod touch with a broken power and home button?

I have an ipod touch 4th gen and the home and power button don't work plus the screen is shattered
I have to wait until christmas to get an iPhone bc I have no money atm
Aside from plugging it into a power source and having it turn on is there any other way to turn it on when I'm out?
I know that some phones turn on when you plug in or take out the headphones, are there any options like that?
I just need it for the next few weeks so there's no point in buying a new one right now
    thank you so much omg

No, As you know the only method is to connect the iPod to a charging source.Yo could purchase one of the portable charging source/battery packs and use the turn it on when yo are not home.

  • Ipod touch 3rd gen home button and power button broken?

My iPod was working fine until a few weeks ago, when this started happening: every time you push the home button, it goes to the "slide to power off" screen, and then no matter if you slide to power off or if you click cancel, it shuts off after a few seconds and then tries to turn back on again. The same thing happens if you push the power/lock button for any amount of time. So, I can only run like 1 app unless I want to have to restart my whole iPod. In addition, sometimes when it tries to turn back on it tells me to plug it into iTunes, which I do and it tells me to restore it. I restored it, and then I unplugged it and it did the same exact thing, where any button press makes it turn off. I plugged it in again and it asked me to restore it again. Nothing seems to be working and I don't know if this is something that can be fixed or if I need a replacement?

You can turn it on via the Power button or by connecting the iPod to a charging source.

  • My iPod Touch 3rd Gen's power button is broken.

I heard that if you take your iDevice to an Apple store they will replace it. Will they replace my iPod Touch 3rd Gen. since it is two generations old?

Restore your iPod touch in iTunes.
