My Site Layouts Feature - Enable

I'm trying to enable the feature
'my site layouts' for a SharePoint 2013 online (office 365). I understand this is feature
"6928b0e5-5707-46a1-ae16-d6e52522d52b" . From what I can see, the 'Enable-SPFeature'
is not available for the online SharePoint Powershell.  Any advice on how to solve this issue?

This is a hidden site collection feature so you will need to use SharePoint Manager or PowerShell. The feature ID is 6928B0E5-5707-46a1-AE16-D6E52522D52B. Its physical location under {SharePointRoot} is TEMPLATE\FEATURES\MySiteLayouts.
This feature brings a number of other web parts and also the MySite.master master page

  • Noteboard webpart in community site with publishing feature enabled

    Hi All
Noteboard webpart works fine as long as publishing site/web feature is not enabled
but after it is enabled people with contribute permissions can not see the noteboard comments of the people with Moderate/Full control/Site collection access and vice versa.
Is this the bug or there is the solution for this ? whts that?

    Hi,
Please try to disable the publishing feature to check whether it working or not. Or try to restart Distributed Cache service.
If you do not activate the publishing infrastructure feature, the note board will appear to work, but will not store comments correctly.  The note board does not use the correct url for the page, so the notes stored using the web part, will differ from
the notes stored using the Tags and Notes button.
    https://donalconlon.wordpress.com/2011/03/02/adding-the-social-note-board-to-a-sharepoint-blog/
I suggest you activate the publishing infrastructure site collection feature, then add a new Noteboard web part in a page, then check whether the issue still exsits or not.

  • Cross Site collections navigation with publishing feature enabled into sharepoint 2010??

    Hi,
Is it possible to cross site collection navigation in share point 2010 with publishing feature enabled? Right now we have a site collection with all the departmental sites within it. We are trying to create separate site collection with separate content
database for each department for better management. But problem with Global navigation as OOB does not provide cross site collection navigation functionality, So looking for multiple site collections or navigation for more than one site collection under single
umbrella. i was able to get the cross site collection navigation in my development env without publishing feature enabled using below link. But problem with production environment, as all the site collections and sites are publishing feature enabled. how i
am gonna do cross site navigation with publishing feature enabled?
    http://www.itsolutionbraindumps.com/2011/10/sharepoint-2010-cross-site-collection.html
Any link or suggest will be greatly appreciated !

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create cross site collections navigation with publishing feature enabled in SharePoint 2010.
Publishing sites (sites with publishing infrastructure) have their own navigation API, and it is much more complicated task to preserve cross-publishing sites navigation.
We need to implement our own custom navigation provider.
Please refer to the link below about the cross site collections navigation with publishing feature enabled:

  • Differences between Publishing sites and publishing enabled document library

    Hi
what is the main differences between Publishing sites and publishing enabled document library
and how to enable publishing for document library?
    adil

Publishing Sites is an out-of-the-box site template designed to publish web pages and it comes with a pre-built workflow or without (depends on which template you pick). It comes with libraries such as Pages library, Publishing Images, or Site Images.
It is configured to fully customized the master pages (or add new ones), and page layouts.
There is no such thing as publishing enabled document library. A document library is not designed to publish web pages. You can have Site Pages library in a team site, but if you are looking to fully brand a site collection, then this is not your answer.
You will need to use a Publishing Site to fully brand your Internet or Intranet site.
You can enable the publishing infrastructure on any site that is NOT a publishing site, but this does not turn your provisioned site to a publishing site. It simply turns on publishing features, such as navigation management, master pages/page layouts management,
    publishing workflows, etc....

  • I keep getting an error message that says "You need cookies to login to this site. Please enable cookies." I checked cookies and they're enabled. I went through and did what it said to fix errors like this and it still says that. How can I fix this?

I am trying to login to a website and every time I go to login I get a message that says "You need cookies for this site. Please enable cookies." I've checked cookies and they're enabled, I even put that specific website on allow. I searched for information on how to correct this error and did all that it said, yet I still get this message.

I have the exact same problem! With just one website. It's when I have a second account on it. I can sign in with my original (old) account, but not with my new account that I wish to sign in on. I've talked to a lot of people members of the website who have second accounts and this doesn't happen with them, it's only with my firefox. I've done everything I can to enable cookies, 3rd party cookies, no exceptions, etc.
But it must be something to do with my computer because I did the same thing on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and it's exactly the same. :/

  • Dynamically Fill PDF form (extended features enabled forms)

    Hi Tarek
Firstly let me say thank you for the great help you are doing through the forum.
With Google, I did a very long search to find out how to fill a PDF form from a database. I achieved this using the iTextSharp dll. But this dll not supporting adobe extended features. thatsy once i filled forms using this class, result form will be flat form and we cant fill it manually again. even this will disable adobe extended features when i open it in adobe reader.
I am working with a project to simplify immigration process (CANADA). I already have all immigration forms created using LiveCycle. That means when i open these form in free Adobe Reader I can fill the form manually and can save locally (offline).
    My Workflow as follows
    1. I am working with .Net Frame Work 2, Visual Studio 2005, Windows Applications (not Web/ASP)
    2. I have fillable forms designed using Adobe LiveCycle (I can fill the form manually and can save locally (offline) using Adobe Reader).
    3. I have to dynamically fill these forms with data from a database (data is already available and its almost achieved using iTextSharp Dll)
    4. Once its dynamically filled, I will send these forms to client through email, because some of the data should be filled by client.
    5. client can open these forms in free Adobe Reader and they can fill and save these forms(because Adobe extended feature enabled in this form, so they can fill and save in Adobe Reader)
    6. Once they fill and save the form, they will send back final form to us through emal (no Online Submit required).
    7. We will check it and finalize, take printout and attach to our document management system.
    8. I can't use any great technologies bcz I dont need any online Submision/Rejection thing and our budjet is low.
    9. I am looking some technologies same as itextShar, simply fill data to form and save it as a new PDF, but it should support Adobe Extended Featers( what is currently not available in iTextSharp), so that customer can fill and save it again using simple  and free ADOBE READER.
    That's it !!
could u please verify my workflow is correct or not, bcz am new to PDF things and can u please suggest me solution to achieve this.
    Thanks in advance
    Ajo Joseph

iTextSharp doesn't enable usage rights in PDF forms, so any changes will invidate the form.
To bypass the validitiy of the Usage Rights, server the XDP data from the buffer of a web server, and point the File to the PDF on the same web server.
Usage rights will still be enabled, and the form can be saved or downloaded.
Also, please be sure to check out FDFToolkit.net, and PDFEmail.net.

  • Deployed solution not appearing in Site Collection Features

I've created and deployed a solution via VS 2012. The web parts are there functioning as intended. The problem is I do not see the feature in Site Collections features so when I go to deploy to production via powershell I cannot activate the feature in the
normal way. It is only activated in DEV because I'm deploying straight from VS.
As always any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,

    Mark Ferrero

I have figured it out I think because now it's showing up. After looking at some feature config from some other projects I noticed Always Force install and Auto Activate In Central Admin was set to False. I set them to false in my feature and for whatever
    reason it's showing up now.
    To summarize:
Changed the scope from Web to Site
Set Always force install to False
Set Always Activate in Central Admin to False
Thank you all for your help on this.

  • Feature not appearing in site collection features list using powershell

I created a custom web part solution which adds a custom web part to the web part gallery - simple.
I did this on my dev server and used Visual Studio's deploy button to deploy it, and it all worked. The solution was added to the Solution Store, my feature was now in the Site Collection features list and automatically activated. So I checked my web part
gallery and it was there as well... great.
Now I'm ready to migrate my simple web part to my Prod server. I managed to use WSP builder to build my wsp. So now i have my wsp file.
I used Powershell to add my solution to my Prod server, that worked. So I ran the Install-SPSolution command and looking at the logs, it all seemed to install fine. Here are the commands I used:
    Add-SPSolution “E:\Deployment WSPs\HRFeedbackForm.wsp“
    Install-SPSolution -Identity "HRFeedbackForm.wsp" -GACDeployment
However, when I go to my Site Collection Features, I can't see my feature. There is nothing in my 14 hive either and as far as I can see, and there are no errors in my log files.
So what have I done wrong?
So I tested adding and deploying the same solution on my dev box using Powershell and I had the same problem as what I've experienced on my Prod server. So what's the difference between deploying solutions via Visual Studio Deploy and using those powershell
commands??? Is there something else I'm meant to change, somewhere?
I hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
    Danielle :)

    Hi,
I wonder whether you have to populate this web part by force in your web part gallery.
For this, go to your Site's Home page. Then...
Site Action > Site Settings > Galleries > Web Parts
    From here...
Under Library Tools go to Documents Tab > Click on New Documents > The New Web Parts popup will open
Here search for your web part. If you find it, select it and Check "Overwrite if file already exisists" and click on Populate Gallery.
If the above does not work, I am stumped too. I will be curious what other members of the community have to add.
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010
Omg it was there and i've added it to the web parts library and it works.... that was soooo strange.
    Thanks Soumya :)
Can you explain at all why the web part has been added to the web part gallery, but the feature doesn't appear under site collection features?
    Danielle :)

  • Drag and Drop Layout feature for regions

Wondering if there is a drag and drop layout feature for regions in 3.1.2 (or below that I might have missed) or if there are plans for it in future releases. I know that this feature is available for items in a region but interested for the many regions I have on a page. I think it would be a nice feature to have instead of having to go into a page template to get the layout I want.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,

  • How to permission site - subsite - feature hierarchy

We use the following hierarchy in our SharePoint 2013 collection:
site -> subsite -> feature (the permission to view a certain tab on the subsite)
We need to permission individual users (initially 100 users, user base will grow to about 500) for individual sites, specific subsites and selected features. So user A may be permitted to use site1, subsite1, subsite2 and feature1. User B may be allowed to
also use site1 but only subsite2 and feature2.
I guess it is of no importance, but site and subsite are a true hierarchy, one subsite belongs to exactly one site. The features however are rather unrelated; if someone is permitted for feature 1 then he will permitted for feature 1 in every site/subsite combination.
However, currently we treat the features as if they were in a hierarchy, too.
We currently plan to use individual groups for every combination of security sets and assign the users to a number of such groups. We will end up with approx. 15.000 groups and hundreds of thousand assignments to
these groups. (There are 5 sites, 2000 subsites and 7 features, so the total possible amount of groups is 70.000, but "only" 15.000 are being used). This seems to be flawed.
Ideally we would use joined permissions, e.g. one group per site, one group per subsite and one group per available feature. A certain feature should then only be available to a user, if they are in that feature's group but also in the parent subsite and site
    groups.
It is probably obvious that I am far from a Sharepoint expert and I am thankful for any hint concerning our security scenario.

    Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to set the individual permissions for site, subsite and features(I am not so sure about what a feature you are referring to).
By default, every items will inherited the permission from their parents except you have stopped the inheritance when creating the subsites or items.
So if you need individual permissions for different content, then you may stop the permission inheritance first.
After that, you can modify the permission for each content based on your need, such as creating groups for each content and grant the groups permission to the subsite or the items.

  • Unable to draw AP Div from Insert Panel as described in Tutorial "Classroom: Basic Site Layout and Navigation in Dreamweaver"

I tried to perform the draw AP Div from the Insert Panel as described within the Tutorial "Classroom: Basic Site Layout and Navigation in Dreamweaver" but that option isn't available/visible from my most recent update t Dreamweaver CC. The only thing noticeable is that the instructor is using a Mac version of the software. Help!

CS4 is 6+ years old.  A lot has changed in web standards and Dreamweaver since then.
APDivs were never a good or sensible way to make primary layouts.  Today, they are downright impossible in Responsive web designs because content in APDivs is removed from the normal document flow.  See links below for further details on why APDivs should be avoided.

  • My Site Follow feature.

    Hi,
I have created mysite for all the users and removed the admin permission for all the users and gave contribute permission for the user.
After that user was unable to follow the document and also unable to create the subsite. users are getting access denied.
When we checked whenever the site is created the "site feed feature" is trying to get activated and throwing error, but if you give site collection admin its working fine.
    Thanks,

When we checked the socail list  permission its shows there are some items having unique permission when we click on that its shows a folder called private which has unique permission when we give permissin to this it works.
But through code we are unable to find this folder.
