MYSAPSSO2 Cookie not found in IE

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to implement SSO between a third party Java application and the SAP EP 7.0. As a test procedure, I log in to my portal and then run my code to see if I can retrieve and decrypt the MYSAPSSO2 cookie.
My code works perfectly when I log in to the portal using Mozilla Firefox (2.0.0.1); I can see the MYSAPSSO2 cookie and decrypt it (Log file output below). However, when I use IE (6.0.3790.1830) to log in to the portal, I can not retrieve the MYSAPSSO2 cookie. It seems as if this cookie does not even exists. I am thinking the cookie is somehow hidden and therefore my code can't see it.
Has anyone faced this issue before? I have tried to decrease the security settings on IE but that doesn't help things. Any help on this issue would be really appreciated!
Pasted below is a snippet of my code.
//request is a HttpServletRequest object
Cookie[] allCookies = request.getCookies();
                    int allCookiesLength = allCookies.length;
                    for (int i = 0 ; i<allCookiesLength; i++)
                         Log.debug("Cookie Name at " + i + " = " + allCookies<i>.getName());
                         if(allCookies<i>.getName().compareToIgnoreCase("MYSAPSSO2")==0)
                              SAP_SSO_COOKIE =  allCookies<i>;
                                                Log.debug("Cookie Found!");
                              cookieFound = true;
                              break;
                                        Log.debug("Cookie NOT Found!");
                         cookieFound = false;

Michael,
I changed the parameter "httponlycookie" to FALSE and this works. My issue was that when I set the parameter to FALSE, I restarted my J2EE engine. For some odd reason, after the restart this parameter was set back to TRUE. Whats even worse, or maybe even cool, depends how you look at it, is that this parameter is set back to TRUE even if I closed down Visual Admin and fire it up again (without restarting the server). However, in this case SSO still works because the J2EE settings are not updated with this TRUE value. Is there a security setting which sets back this parameter to TRUE every time the server is restarted or when Visual Admin is fired up?
Thanks
MOY

  • Identity Server Cookie not found

    Hi all.
    Iam getting a cookie related error message when trying to access a protected web application;
    sequence :
    When i type in the url of my web application, as obvious, i was redirected to my identity login page.
    I also get the this error message ;) in my amAgent log :
    "2003-07-31 12:22:13.832 Warning 7048:d1168 PolicyAgent: Identity Server Cookie not found"
    To add something to this cookie issue:
    when i get authernticated from my identity server, i was successfuly redirected to my web application; but if i invoke any web resource or link, buttons .... - trigger any event, i was thrown way to the login page of the web application - if i login again in my web app, i go to the last page that i was accessing;
    I guess all this funny thing happens because of the cookie, which is missing.
    anyone have an idea, what this cookie is? and what should be done to fix it?
    regards
    Kumar

    Sorr for so many people faced the sam or similar issues. I just joined this support a short while. If you think any old problem which is still critical to you, please repost. We shall try our best to give you assistance. Jerry
    Here are some of tips for debugging Web agent.
    From the AMAgent.properties, are both IIS and AM are in the same domain? If they are not, then you need to use CDSSO. Also please check in AM, under "Service Configuration-> Platform -> Cookie Domains" , whether cookie is set for the entire domain which includes AM and IIS ("test.com") or just the AM machine name.
    Also check whether correct value for "Agent-Identity Server Shared Secret" is entered. This should be your internal ldap password (amldapuser). In the AMAgent.properties for the below property the password will be encrypted and assigned: "com.sun.am.policy.am.password".
    Could you also check if the Identity servver and the IIS web server are time synchronized. The problem may be that agent requests policy decisions and the response from server may be timed out due to non-syncrhonized clock.
    Don't forget to restart the whole IIS service using internet
    management console after making agent changes.
    Some of the common error codes:
    20: Application authentication failed. This occurs when Agent cannot sucessfully authenticate with Identity Server. This is mainly due to incorrect password for agent entered during agent installation. Please refer to another faq describing how to change password.
    7: Policy not found. This error occurs typically if there are no policies defined on Identity server for the given web server URL. Otherwise, there may be time skew between Identity Server and Agent. So, polices fetched from Identity Server is instantly flushed by Agent and attempted to refetch over and over again. This can be solved by running rdate or similar command to synchronize time between the two machines. It is recommended to run NNTP server syncrhonize times between your Identity systems.

  • MYSAPSSO2 Cookie not creating in Internet Explorer

    We are Implementing Single Sign on in EP 6.0.
    EP 6.0 issues mysapsso2 logon ticket and ITS, R/3 reads the ticket
    The probelm we are having is, When we login the Portal using Internet Explorer. Its not creating the MYSAPSSO2 ticket.
    But when we use Firefox. it is creating the Cookie.
    any suggestions how to deal with this?
    Thanks for you help.
    Gopi.

    Hi,
    it might well be that you don't see the cookie via document.cookies ... because SAP marks the cookie as "HttpOnly" when setting it. This means, it cannot be accessed via JavaScript.
    As my co-posters already suggested: Consider using an HTTP sniffer (WebScarab, HttpWatch or even Ethereal) for checking the following:
    a) Do you receive a Set-Cookie: MYSAPSSO2=.... header?
    b) Does your browser send back a header Cookie: MYSAPSSO2=... ?
    a) should not fail. If it does, your portal actually does not create SAP logon tickets
    b) fails, if your browser did not accept the cookie creation (mostly for security reasons).
    Please do this test with both IE and Firefox and check for differences.
    And btw: What IE version are you using? What is the version and SP level of your Windows?
    Regards,
    Dominik

  • Issue while parsing the MYSAPSSO2 Cookie

    Hi All,
    We are trying to establish SSO with a non SAP web application using MYSAPSSO2 cookie.
    Plan is to write a java class which can parse out the MYSAPSSO2 cookie, extract the user Id and use it for single sign on.
    Following Libraries are used:
    logging.jar
    i18n_cp.jar
    iaik_jce.jar
    com.sap.security.api.jar
    com.sap.security.core.jar
    rscp4j.dll(this is downloaded from a SAP EP 7.0 instance running in windows 2003 server in our landscape).
    Our Source SAP EP 7.0 instance which will be issuing the cookie is running in Solaris.
    The target application in which the cookie is parsed, is running in Windos 2003 64 bit server.
    Following is the code which we are using.
    //Instantiate the rpovider
    IAIK provider = new IAIK();
    Security.addProvider(provider);
    //Instantiate the ticket
    tv  =   new com.sap.security.core.ticket.imp.Ticket();
    //set teh certificates
    tv.setCertificates(certificates);
    //set the MYSAPSSO2 cookie
    tv.setTicket(strCookie);
    if (!tv.isValid()){
         System.out.println("Ticket is not valid");
    //Verify the ticket
    tv.verify();
    isValid method is working fine - it is returning true or false exactly based on the validity.
    ISSUE:
    tv.verify();--->Raises the following exception:
    java.security.SignatureException-Certificate (Issuer="CN=SID,OU=XX,O=XYZ,L=LO,ST=ST,C=CO", S/N=1234567890) not found.
    When analyzed, it looks like the verify method is trying to compare the issuer's serial number in integer format
    but the portal is providing the serial number in hexadecimal format.
    So the keystore has the certificate with the same issuer and serial number but the serial number is in hexadecimal format.
    The certificate from SAP Enterprise Portal was imported to the local keystore using the keytool -import option.
    Could anyone help resolve this issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    im facing the exact same problem, and I think I found the reason for the behavior described above.
    The Problem seems to be located at
    [http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW73/SPS01/CE/se/com.sap.se/com/sap/security/api/ticket/TicketVerifier.html#verify()]
    from com.sap.security.api.jar, just like mentioned.
    But the Problem seems to be the issuer, not the serial number.
    When decompiling  com.sap.security.api.jar with JD-GUI ([http://java.decompiler.free.fr/?q=jdgui]),
    you can see the following:
         public static java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] findCertificates(
                   java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] certificates, String issuer, BigInteger serial) {
              if ((certificates == null) || (certificates.length == 0)) {
                   return null;
              ArrayList certificateList = new ArrayList();
              for (int i = 0; i < certificates.length; i++) {
                   java.security.cert.X509Certificate certificate = certificates<i>;
                   if ((certificate.getIssuerDN().getName().equals(issuer)) && (certificate.getSerialNumber().equals(serial))) {
                        certificateList.add(certificate);
              if (certificateList.size() == 0) {
                   return null;
              java.security.cert.X509Certificate[] matchedCertificates = new java.security.cert.X509Certificate[certificateList
                        .size()];
              certificateList.toArray(matchedCertificates);
              return matchedCertificates;
    As you can see, the issuer-parameter is beeing compared with the issuer from the certificate. And here comes the weird stuff: While the  issuer-parameter contains an issuer like
    "OU=J2EE,CN=EXAMPLE"
    the issuer retrieved from the certificate is
    "OU=J2EE, CN=EXAMPLE"
    (see toString() of the java.security.cert.X509Certificate)
    You see the missing whitespace after the comma? This is the reason why the if-condition fails and you get something like
    java.security.SignatureException: Certificate (Issuer="OU=J2EE,CN=EXAMPLE", S/N=1234) not found.
    A workaround (a really UGLY one, I admit), is the following:
    1. Open  com.sap.security.api.jar with a ZIP-tool and delete
    /com/sap/security/api/ticket/TicketVerifier.class
    2. Copy the decompilied Version of TicketVerifier to Java-Class /com/sap/security/api/ticket/TicketVerifier.java
    3. Change
    for (int i = 0; i < certificates.length; i++) {
         java.security.cert.X509Certificate certificate = certificates<i>;
         if ((certificate.getIssuerDN().getName().equals(issuer)) && (certificate.getSerialNumber().equals(serial))) {
              certificateList.add(certificate);
    to
    for (int i = 0; i < certificates.length; i++) {
         X509Certificate certificate = certificates<i>;
         String dnNameFromCert = certificate.getIssuerDN().getName().replaceAll(", ", ",");
         BigInteger serialNumberFromCert = certificate.getSerialNumber();
         if ((dnNameFromCert.equals(issuer)) && (serialNumberFromCert.equals(serial))) {
              certificateList.add(certificate);
    4. Package this class into a jar and make it available in your classpath.
    5. Enjoy
    To me, this is a huge bug in the SAP-Library and has to be fixed.
    Regards
    Matthias

  • How to generate MYSAPSSO2 cookie?

    Hello!
    Is it possible to generate MYSAPSSO2 cookie in WebDynpro or J2EE/JSP applications? These apps running as standalone, not in the SAP Portal. Also WD apps not using sap.authentificate property since I have to use my own login algorithm for it.
    If yes could you give a code snippets for this? I've tried to find it but found snippets only for reading such cookie.

  • 5.0 won't work - extensions message is "localized string not found".  When I force it to try to load a new window it shows a gray screen with the bookmarks on top then immediately closes and wants to report the error. Has been this way since 5.0 came out.

    I first tried downloading Safari when the 5.0 update came out last year.  When I choose the app in the dock, I get the blue top bar (Safari, File, etc) but nothing else loads.  I uninstalled the app and tried again several times, but no success. For over a year now I've used Firefox as a result.  Today I thought I'd try again, but same results.  When I choose "new window" in the file menu, I get a small gray window with my bookmarks on top, then in a few seconds, the app quits unexpectedly and the report an error screen appears.  I've unchecked all the languages in the information area for the app, cleared all history, cookies, and cache.  Still the extensions tab in the preferences area has "LOCALIZED STRING NOT FOUND" in 4 places.  It won't show what that means when I click the "?".  Will I ever be able to use Safari again?

    Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
    * [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
    -> Profile in use
    * [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use]
    Check and tell if its working.

  • Error 404: SRVE0190E: File not found when trying to access jsp

    I am using RAD (new to web dev) for some reason my app is unable to find .jsp's when they are not in the web content folder. I have a predefined package for my jsp's and when I run my servlet I get
    Error 404: SRVE0190E: File not found: /WEB-INF/classes/app/view/search.jsp
    now if I amend my URL in the servlet to "/search.jsp" and move the jsp to the web content folder, it works. I just don't understand why it cannot find the file when I put it in the package I created and link to it, but finds it just fine in the webcontent folder. Is there some unwritten rule JSP's MUST be in the webcontent folder? Because when i do that, then I have issues with my image links for the GUI (get red X's for all my images regardless of the fact they are linked properly.) Basically if I put my jsps where I want, look fine in design and preview, but the jsp isnt found when executed, if I move them to the web content folder the images no longer work but the jsps run. I am getting rather frustrated. Any help is appreciated.

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

    Are you using cleanup software like CCleaner or other software that may corrupt the cache?
    You can try to delete the entire cache folder.<br />
    You can find the location of the cache folder on the about:cache page (open via the location bar, like a web page).
    You can check the <b>browser.cache.disk.enable</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page to verify that the disk cache is enabled (should be true).

  • FireFox isn't working right on my Mac. Sometimes it won't load at all( says server not found) and sometimes pics and video won't load. If I switch to IE or safari it works fine.

    I just got a Mac ( I have always had a pc) and I loaded the most update version of Firefox on it. Many times during the day I will go to a website and it will get a "Server not found" message. I can't refresh the page and fix it, but if I go to IE or Safari the webpage shows up fine. It's not just the webpage cause it is never the same one and it can happen to any site. Also when using Firefox there are many times when I go to a page and not all the pics load or if there is a video on the page the video doesn't load. Again if I then go to IE or safari everything is there and works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox and nothing changed. I cleared my cache, cookie, history and still nothing. I love firefox so this is really frustrating. Any help please.

  • FF 9.01 has bizzare behavior, sever not found, sites look wrong, left tab back, failed sign ons, etc.

    '''Moderator edit: Locked, duplicate of [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/910533 910533]'''
    '''Anyone else having problems with FF 9.0.1? I mean multiple, strange problems! Ever since I upgraded to this latest version of Firefox 9.0.1, I have frequent "server not found" on common web sites like www.google.com, www.amazon.com, www.tvguide.com, etc.
    All these problem are frequent but inconsistent. Happens most, but not all of the time. Repeated attempts to execute a site url will, eventually (usually) get a good response.
    Further, when pages are found, they open up looking wrong - unformatted text, no graphics, missing html commands, etc.
    Also, on several sites, I am unable to sign on or exchange information/data. Logons are not accepted, fail or are repeated over and over, responses not recognized, etc. This seems to especially true for Yahoo and ATT web sights.
    Lastly, just to add insult to injury, that damnable left side tab on my Google home page (igoogle) is BACK!!
    Switching to Chrome and/or IE eliminates these problems, but I still prefer FF!
    '''I have reviewed the articles here and tried several alterations on the config page, but nothing has helped.'''
    I have flushed my cache, cookies, history with no benefit! I have also, as I am now, started FF in safe mode band EVEN in SAFE MODE, with EVERYTHING disabled, I still get the bizzare responses and the left tab is still back.
    Is there a way to reload FF completely with every thing set as itv it was BEFORE the last upgrade or to go back to an earlier version? What is it about 9.0.1 that is causing all these problems?
    BTW, incidently, aabout the same time as upgrading FF, I also switched from Comcast cable ISP to ATT DSL ISP at a even higher speed - 18.0 Mbps. Not sure if that matters; I think the behavior was evident BEFORE the switch over.
    Any ideas or suggestions? Are the setting in my config under "useragent" correct? The Ivp6 settings?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated!

    '''Cor-el,
    I think it's time to bring some of those kryptonian super powers of yours in to play! :)
    Yes, I am still having problems. I tried to load in the online site for my bank, Navy Federal Credit Union. I got the old "server not found" BS. I did as you suggested and executed a SHIFTED Reload and that worked, at least in the since that I was able to get the opening page.
    However, when I went to sign on, the trouble appeared. Similar to the failed logons and recycling sign ons that I had seen on Yahoo and a few other sites, WHEN I logged onto NFCU's page (they have an unusual three part logon), as soon as I sign on I am IMMEDIATELY told I have "timed out" on the session and am kicked off. Repeated attempts to access my account yields the same thing over and over. I tried to sign on using Internet Explorer and there was NO PROBLEM AT ALL, so the issue is specific to FF.
    I then flushed the cache and retied; no luck. I tried SAFE MODE and again no luck. I then went in a flushed the cache, again, and deleted all associated cookies. Again no luck.
    Then I flushed the cache, reset ALL the preferences and tried again, still no luck.
    As it stands now, I have reset the USERAGENT entries, flushed the cache, reset the preferences and, removed the cookies and still, EVEN in SAFE mode, Firefox and NFCU can't get along. Neither can Yahoo.com!
    So, after all that,I am at my wits end. Suggestions? Should I send you a refreshed copy of my troubleshooting dump?
    Keep in mine that I have, up until 9.0.1 came out, been using FF to aces s all these sites without any problems. So I guess the question has to be: Exactly what was changed in 9.0.1 from the previous version that has made it act this way?
    Ideas? Suggestions? Fixing this has become a full time job!

    Internet explorer and fire fox both show server not found on all websites even though I have good full bar internet connection and also it's not the Internet because I can access my emails thanks
    '''moderator fixed the title of this thread''

    Hi,
    Could you explain the issue with Firefox Desktop or Mobile?
    In the Question you mentioned "Internet Explorer" and in the Thread product you mention "Firefox Android"
    If its Firefox Android, try the below steps
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing. <br>
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies, do the following:
    #Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
    #Tap '''Settings'''.
    #After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section '''''Privacy & Security''''' and select '''Clear private data'''.
    #You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    #*Cookies & active logins
    #*Cache
    #After those have been selected, tap the '''Clear data''' button to actually clear the cache and cookies.
    Did this help you with your problems? Please let us know!

  • 404 File not Found when accessing Video Web server

    I am trying to access a Video Web server remotely. Everything works fine on a PC and also on Internet Explorer for Mac.
    When I login using Safari I get the error message "404 File not Found" "The requested URL was not found on this server"
    I have been successful twice through Safari but after that it doesn't seem to work for days.
    I have removed all cookies, emptied the Cache, reset safari, deleted all keychain access references to the website.
    It seems to be a security issue but I am not sure what else to do.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    Try using open DNS:
    Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
    Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    (You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
