MySQL 5.5.10 in [testing]
Hi all,
I moved MySQL 5.5.10 in [testing] now. Every package which needs libmysqlclient.so.16 or libmysqlclient_r.so.16 *MUST* be rebuilt.
Please wait for mirror sync before update. Thanks.
Typically this error message might happen if you are trying to connect to the MySQL server remotely, in which case you will have to grant your remote system connectivity rights to the mysql database.
Here is a post from the vendor on what might be causing your issue:

Dreamweaver adding local testing server MySQL-HELP REQUEST
I have a website on register.com and I am using MySQL for the
first time. My DB and table have been created using MyPHPAdmin. Now
I want to use my Dreamweaver to setup a testing server that will be
local and then upload asp pages after testing. Can Anyone PLEASE
assist with this. I have downloaded and installed MySQL 5 and
loaded the MySQL Driver for ODBC. I am not sure if I am doing this
correctly OR if anyone knows an easier way. In summary I simply
want to:
A : Be able to test MySQL tables using dreamweaver's testing
server then locally upload to my remote site that is hosted at
register.com.
THANKS in advance
MarkWhy not use PHPMyAdmin to build the database remotely and
then just use your
remote connection for testing?

PHP/MySQL Test/Production Server best practices
Hello,
I am currently learning PHP/MySql and have setup a test server to develop on and a production server to go live with. I wanted to know what are the best practices for synchronizing the test server with the production. Should I export the database from the test server and import it to the production server each time I make a change or is there better way to incrementally sync the databases. I am using Dreamweaver to design the web site.
Thanks,
NickThanks, but does this mean that after I go live I should make changes on the production database only and not use the development database, if say I need to add a new table or record(s)?
Procedure
1. Take production web site down
2. Export/Save current database
3. Make changes to production database
4. Export/Save new database
5. Bring production web site up
Is this correct? -
How to setup the local testing server ??
hello, what do I need to install first before I can setup the
testing server in dreamweaver 8? I have download apache2 triad,
mySQL, IIS 6...
Where should I download the correct version of mySQL because
I need to test my php scripts locally which has something to do
with database?
How do I configure these on the testing server setup
Connection Name - what should I input here?
MySQL Server - and this?
Username - where do I get one?
Password - where do I get one?
Database - gets an error saying "HTTP error code 404...
1) There is no testing server running on the server machine.
2)The testing server specified for this site does not map to

Please Help.. Thanks in advance!criticalx wrote:

I have never heard of apache2triad, but I've just had a look
at the
apache2triad site, which says: "It is recommended that only
experienced
users, with a vast knowledge of how networks, and its
components (Apache
Web Server, ect.) should install this software. It IS NOT
your average
software; a lot of time, patience and effort are required to
maintain
such a server."
Setting up a local testing server is not difficult, but it
does require
a basic understanding of how a server-side language like PHP
works.
As I said before, you must always store your files in the web
server
document root. According to the apache2triad documentation,
this is C:
\apache2triad\htdocs\. Unless you store your files there, or
in a
subfolder of htdocs, nothing will work.

PHP/MySQL issue after security update 2010-005
Hello,
I run Apache/PHP/MySQL on my MBP for testing Web sites.
After the 2010-005 security update I can't connect to my databases anymore.
I don't know how to fix this, I even don't know where to start looking.
Ideas, anyone?coloma wrote:
etresoft, thanks for sharing this ... I decided to go with the TriangleJuice suggestion instead for two reasons ... first is that I wasn't sure where to find this launchd file.
There is nothing wrong with TriangleJuice's suggestion. My only issue with creating a php.ini file is that now I have to worry about all those other settings in the ini file. If something else in PHP breaks, I have to figure out if I am the one who broke it.
Apple ships MySQL with MacOS X Server. They probably adjusted the PHP settings to match how they have MySQL setup in MacOS X Server.
For MySQL's, no, Sun's - drat! no, Oracle's part, they still haven't acknowledged the fact that Apple has shipped MacOS X 10.4. MySQL still ships with a Startup Item. If you don't know where the launchd file is, it is because you don't have one. You probably have a MySQL entry in /Library/StartupItems or maybe /System/Library/StartupItems. Startup Items were deprecated in 10.4. Oracle should be creating a file named com.mysql.mysqld.plist in /Library/LaunchDaemons.
Here is what mine looks like now:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>KeepAlive</key>
<true/>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.mysql.mysqld</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld</string>
<string>--socket=/var/mysql/mysql.sock</string>
<string>--basedir=/usr/local/mysql</string>
<string>--datadir=/usr/local/mysql/data</string>
<string>--user=mysql</string>
<string>--log-error=/usr/local/mysql/data/Pele.local.err</string>
<string>--pid-file=/usr/local/mysql/data/Pele.local.pid</string>
</array>
<key>RunAtLoad</key>
<true/>
</dict>
</plist>
I also don't have a /var/mysql directory and wasn't sure whether I should just create one or if this meant my configuration was different. If you feel like explaining any of this, I'd be curious to know.
You have to create one. Such a directory probably already exists on MacOS X Server. Just make sure it is owned by mysql.
sudo mkdir /var/mysql
sudo chown _mysql:staff /var/mysql
sudo chmod 0755 /var/mysql
[jdaniel@Pele:516] /var $ ls -al /private/var | grep mysql
drwxr-xr-x 3 _mysql staff 102 Aug 26 20:03 mysql
Of course, /var is a symbolic link to /private/var. Long story there. -

Import / Export MySQL database in SQL Developer
Hello,
I have version 3.1.2.704 of SQL Developer Data Modeler and version 3.2.09 of SQL Developer installed.
When I´m adding a new connection in SQL Developer, I can choose the MySQL tab an create a connection to a MySQL database.
The connection test was successful and I can see all tables.
I use the same JDBC driver for SQL Developer and SQL Developer Data Modeler (mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar).
But there are two problems.
1. First there is an problem when I want to import from a MySQL database (SQL Developer -> File -> DataModeler -> Import -> DataDictionary).
After choosing the MySQL connection and pressing the next button an error occurs: CONNECTION_TYPE
What is the reason?
2. In SQL Developer Data Modeler I have not the CONNECTION_TYPE problem. But when I want to export DDL, there is no MySQL type selectable, although there is working connection to the MySQL Database. It´s the same in SQL Developer.
What is the reason?Hi,
Please be aware that a separate forum for SQL Developer Data Modeler is available:
SQL Developer Data Modeler
You will likely get a more rapid response if you mark this thread as answered and re-post your question over there.

What is the reason?Hi,
Data Modeler does not explicitly support import from MySQL databases, although you can use a JDBC connection to do this.
Philip described how to set this up in forum message How to connect mySQL for reverve engineering
There is no MySQL tab in Data Modeler - you should use "JDBC-ODBC Bridge" - "other third party Driver".
Set URL like : jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/database_name
driver Class: com.mysql.jdbc.DriverAlso Data Modeler does not support generation of DDL for MySQL.

[Solved] ampache - missing mysql extensions and Iconv support
I was about to install amache. I've installed it using yaourt -S ampache. Installation went fine. But when I go to IP/ampache I see 2 errors: Mysql for PHP [ ERROR ] This test checks to see if you have the mysql extensions loaded for PHP. These are required for Ampache to work.
and PHP ICONV Support [ ERROR ] This test checks to make sure you have Iconv support installed. Iconv support is required for Ampache
What am I missing here? I just can't find the packages that would cover those errors. Any ideas what do I have to install in order for this to work?
Last edited by frojnd (2010-02-07 11:33:43)Maybe this would help someone to help me
I don't know how but I forgot to uncomment extension=iconv.so line in the php.ini file to get iconv support for ampache, so now I only have one error. And this is Mysql for PHP: ERROR. Now this one I have no idea how to solve. -

Problem testing WebMethod. Throwing javax.xml.bind.JAXBException
Hi guys,
Another Newbie.
Specifications:

Problem: Not able to test run the Webmethod with webparams.
I have an entity class with some methods as shown below
public class Country {
private Integer countryID;
private ServerDatabaseInteraction di;
private String countryName;
/** Creates a new instance of Country */
public Country(ServerDatabaseInteraction di) {
this.di = di;
* Creates a new instance of Country with the specified values.
* @param countryID the countryID of the Country
public Country(Integer countryID) {
this.countryID = countryID;
* Creates a new instance of Country with the specified values.
* @param countryID the countryID of the Country
* @param countryName the countryName of the Country
public Country(Integer countryID, String countryName, ServerDatabaseInteraction di) {
this.di = di;
this.countryID = countryID;
this.countryName = countryName;
* Gets the countryID of this Country.
* @return the countryID
public Integer getCountryID() {
return this.countryID;
* Sets the countryID of this Country to the specified value.
* @param countryID the new countryID
public void setCountryID(Integer countryID) {
this.countryID = countryID;
* Gets the countryName of this Country.
* @return the countryName
public String getCountryName() {
return this.countryName;
* Sets the countryName of this Country to the specified value.
* @param countryName the new countryName
public void setCountryName(String countryName) {
this.countryName = countryName;
public void insert() throws SQLException {
di.update("INSERT INTO Country (CountryName) VALUES ('"+getCountryName()+"')");
public ArrayList list() throws SQLException {
ArrayList queryAL = new ArrayList();
ResultSet rs = di.queryToResultSet("SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM Country");
while(rs.next()) {
String temp = rs.getInt(1)+"#"+rs.getString(2);
queryAL.add(temp);
return queryAL;
} then I created a Web service having two methods as follows
@WebService
public class CountryWS {
ServerDatabaseInteraction di;
Country country;
public CountryWS() {
try {
di = new ServerDatabaseInteraction();
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
country = new Country(di);
* Web service operation
@WebMethod
public ArrayList listPKobjects() {
try {
return country.list();
} catch (SQLException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
return null;
* Web service operation
@WebMethod
public String insert(@WebParam(name = "CountryName") String CountryName) {
// TODO implement operation
country.setCountryName(CountryName);
try {
country.insert();
return "Inserted";
} catch (SQLException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
return "Insert Failed";
}Now the problem is Im able to test (by right clicking on webservice from IDE) the webmethod listPKObjects but not the insert method. only difference is the second one is having webparms.
the log shows as follows..

Any help would be much appriciated.I'm encountering the same problem, but it's very inconsistent. I've got three web services that I'm deploying. If I clean, rebuild, and redeploy, then different combinations of the three throw this error.
My specifications:
NetBeans 6.0
GlassFish v2
Oracle 10g
In browsing around online, I came across the following link which suggested to me that this issue is known and is being addressed.
https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=419
I discovered that the reason that I was getting this error was because my web services all had the same operation names. When I renamed my operations in each service so that they had different names, this fixed the problem.
Hope this helps!

External JDBC Connexion to Mysql in BAM Server 11g
Hi,
I try to create an external datasource to a Mysql Server.
When I test it, it runs well.
I create a data object using this external datasource, I can "Browse" all tables of the MySQL schema.
But when I try to see the CONTENT of my Data Object, I have this message :
BAM-01262: Active Data Cache server exception in openViewset().
Source: "ActiveDataCache" ID: "ADCServerException"
Erreur de syntaxe près de '"flyspray_projects"' à la ligne 1
Source: "com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Erreur de syntaxe près de '"flyspray_projects"' à la ligne 1"
In the nohup file of the server, I can see this message :

JeromeAnswer of the Second question.
2. Can you please check the data types of the columns of the MySQL table and test again one by one for which data type and for what data, this error is getting thrown?
Here is the description of the table "flyspray_projects" :
Field Type Null Key Default Extra
project_id int(3) PRI auto_increment
project_title varchar(100)
theme_style varchar(20) 0
default_cat_owner int(3) 0
intro_message longtext
project_is_active int(1) 0
visible_columns varchar(255)
others_view int(1) 0
anon_open int(1) 0
notify_email longtext
notify_jabber longtext
notify_reply text YES
notify_types varchar(100) 0
feed_img_url text YES
feed_description text YES
notify_subject varchar(100)
lang_code varchar(10) en
comment_closed int(1) 0
auto_assign int(1) 0
last_updated int(11) 0
default_task text YES
default_entry varchar(8) index
In my DataObject, I try with only ONE field.
1) With "project_id", which is a number
2) With "project_title" which is a varchar
The result was the same Error Message :
