  • 3.1EA1: Teradata 'database' command throws 'unknown command' error

    I'm able to connect to TD using SQL Developer 3.1. I then try and switch databases using TD's 'database' command and receive the below error. If it helps, I use this command frequently in both bteq and winSQL. Having said that, I'm very excited to see Teradata support come to SQLDeveloper!

    Hi <Please supply your name>,
    At the moment SQL Developers Worksheet recognizes Oracle SQL and scripts.
    But we have not extended it to recognize the non Oracle languages.
    The Worksheet needs to recognize the statements so it can break a script into separate statements (identify the start and end of a statement)
    And to figure out if its normal statement or one which returns a value or result set.
    As most databases SQL is reasonable similar , things like SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, .. are recognized fine for non Oracle databases.
    But something like the Teradata DATABASE command is not recognized (yet).
    For statements we don't recognize we currently do not run them against the database.
    Ill investigate this some more to see if we can make it a bit more hands off.
    In the mean time we do have a workaround which requires adding a hint to tell the worksheet what type of statement it is.

    Hope this helps,

  • URGENT URGENT: MySQL unknown source error

    Hi, need ur help again.
    I have a web application that uses mysql 4.1.1 as database and tomcat 4.1.29. This application connects to 5 databases.
    First database is main database for application.
    Second database is used to retrieve records for report generation only.
    Third and forth database do the same as second database.
    Fifth database uses for authentication, which is in different machine.
    NOTE that 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th database are on same machine.
    All the database connection work fine (can make connection and retrieve records) in windows platform (where the tomcat and database server are installed in window).
    However, when i test the application in linux platform (where the tomcat and database server are installed in linux), the connection to 2nd,3rd and 4th database fail. The log files shows that there are error known as 'Unknown source'.
    What can i do?

    Ok, i found the problem.
    There is a case-sensitve issue: the table name.
    thanks.

  • Unknown command

    hello all..
    while trying opening a file created in MAC, in my p.c i got a
    unknown command error.
    the strange thing is that in the preview i can see the file
    but i can't open it.
    i send this fle to my friend and he opend it in his p.c with
    no problem
    what can i do ????????
    please help me...

    OK,
    There are two places to check. Actually two type of places to check.
    1) Go to the iChat > Preferences > Alerts section.
    Check every potential setting in the top drop down with whether it has a AppleScript setting checked in the box below.
    2) Click once on every Buddy (in turn) then hit the Apple key and I together to get the Info card up.
    Go to the Alerts tab.
    Repeat 1) (This is because you can set the Alerts Individually as well as Globally in 1) )
    Once you have found and removed any setting to Use one of the AppleScripts you can then use the iChat > Preferences > Alerts section to open the Scripts Folder and open the Scripts with AppleScript Editor (Just Double Click them) and check them for changes (there is an Auto Accept that is phrased to cope with all types of chats and Screen Sharing invites there is also an Auto decline)
    If this fails to work you will have to delete com.apple.ichat.plist
    This will mean making your Settings again in all the Preferences as you Lose Alerts settings, Font choice, Font Colour, Bubble colour, whether the Menu Bar icon is showing, Whether Transcripts are Saved and so on. You also lose any Personal or Individually set Alerts.
    Outside of the Preferences you will also lose any Saved Status Messages you have Created.
    You will not lose your Buddy List or your Buddy pic or those of your Buddies.
    (You may lose Animation if set it.)
    My guess would be that the choice for Message Sent has an Applescript check against it and that the AppleScript it is connected to is nothing to do with Sending.

  • "SP2-0734: unknown command..." error while importing a dump file

    hello,
    i want to import a dump file into my database named orcl, and i come accross the same error after executing the import command. my import command is:
    SQL> imp mvdemo/mvdemo file=mvdemo.dmp full=y ignore=y
    i use oracle 10g enterprise edition.
    i created the user mvdemo/mvdemo.
    the error i see in my screen is:
    SP2-0734: unknown command beginning "imp mvde..." - rest of line ignored.
    for a long period of time, i havent used oracle dbms. before, i remember that i used enterprise manager in import/export processes. however, i am not able to find the enterprise manager in 10g options now. do i have to install the enterprise manager seperately in oracle 10g enterprise edition? may this problem be relational with this matter?
    if someone could answer, i would be greatful.
    best regards

    Import is run from the command prompt, not the SQL prompt.

  • Error: Could not complete your request because an unknown command was encountered.

    I've been working on a file in FreeHand 11 for a few months
    now, and for some reason after saving and closing the file about a
    week ago, I can no longer open it - on either of my computers (both
    PCs, one running XP, one running Vista). When I attempt to do so, I
    am presented with the following error message:
    Could not complete your request because an unknown command
    was encountered.
    Is there any possible way to fix this?

    Haha. I know. I was stupid... The last backup of the file is
    four months old. Unfortunately I've done quite a lot of work on it
    since then...
    One interesting thing though, is that I can still see the
    thumbnail picture in Windows Explorer. Also, I'm able to open the
    file with Fireworks, but none of the hidden layers (most of my
    work) are there.
    I just tried to open it again on my desktop. Same error
    message (but in German)...:
    "Ihre Anforderung konnte nicht ausgeführt werden. Ein
    unbekannter Fehler ist aufgetreten." :S

    I assume that something check SMPT port whether port is healthy or not.That is a fair assumption -- especially if that line occurs with a constant frequency.
    How cah I remove that line in a lof file?You can use the LOG_ACTION mapping table to hide specific log lines as described here:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Triggering+Effects+From+Transaction+Logging.+The+LOG_ACTION+Mapping+Table#TriggeringEffectsFromTransactionLogging.TheLOG_ACTIONMappingTable-Disablingloggingofconnectionsfromaperiodicmonitoringsource
    In your case you would add a "B" line as well.

  • BPC 7.5NW SP08: "unknown MDX error" message for simple dimension formula

    Hi everyone!!
    We are facing many different issues concerning dimension formulas and
    script logic. Maybe it's something related to SP08. For instance,
    consider the following:
    - there is a dimension named P_Account, with members Price, SalesCost,
    and others
    - there is a dimension named P_Product, which consists of a hierarchy,
    for instance: Prod1 with two children, Prod1A and Prod1B
    We want to set the following dimension formula in P_Product for Prod1 member:
    IIF([P_Account].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("ID") = "Price", Null, 1)
    that is, we wanted to try to be able to avoid summing Price, returning
    Null for (Price, Prod1). Later we would try to replace "1" with the
    appropriate formula to sum children of Prod1 for all other members of
    P_Account. The result is an odd error: "MDX statement error: unknown MDX
    error" (or something similar, since I get the error message in portuguese).
    We have spent almost two days studying alternatives in SDN Forum, blogs,
    google, etc, trying to find a reason for the error but couldn't find it.
    Could anyone help on this one?
    Thanks!
    Luigi

    Hi everyone!
    After contacting SAP, we were asked to try to reproduce the error in APSHELL. I did the following:
    1) created another application set, copying APSHELL, named it TESTAPPSET;
    2) added two members to dimension P_ACCT (ID, ACCTYPE, SCALING, RATETYPE):
       (PRICE, INC, Y, END)
       (SALESCOST, INC, Y, END)
    3) saved to server and processed P_ACCT dimension successfuly
    4) added a UD dimension copied from P_Activity, named P_Product
    5) deleted all members of P_Product, processed the dimension sucessfuly
    6) added FORMULA property to P_Product, with size 200
    7) added three members to P_Product (ID, PARENTH1)
       (Prod1, "")
       (Prod1A, Prod1)
       (Prod1B, Prod1)
    8) saved to server and processed the dimension successfuly
    9) edited P_Product members and added the following as FORMULA for Prod1:
    IIF([P_ACCT].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("ID") = "PRICE", Null, 1)
    Result was sucess!!
    10) edit P_Product again and removed the formula, saved to server and processed dimension successfuly;
    11) created an Application named SALES, type Financial Report, copied from PLANNING with dimensions
    12) edit dimensions, removed P_Activity and added P_Product to the list
    13) went back to step (9) and tried to add the formula again, saved to server and processed P_Product dimension. Result was success again!!
    So I imagined the issue might be caused by the user I was log in with. I went back to our application set, logged in as BPC_SYSADMIN and tried to set the formula again and it didn't work. User was not the problem.
    Since I had tried all the above creating everything with all UPPERCASE, I decided to try the following Formula
    IIF([P_ACCOUNT].CURRENTMEMBER.PROPERTIES("ID") = "Price", Null, 1)
    that is, P_ACCOUNT instead of P_Account. Result: success in processing dimension!!! And the formula worked as expected when I opened an Input Schedule to test it.
    When I check my dimension list in BPC Admin it says P_Account (mixed case), instead of P_ACCOUNT (all uppercase) since it was the way we created it.
    So, I spent 1hour to do the whole test, but it worked. I sent two questions/requests for correction or improvement to SAP:
    I) which case should be used in formulas? given I see P_Account in Dimension list, how should I know that I should write formulas with P_ACCOUNT, all uppercase?
    II) could BPC provide more descriptive error messages when processing dimensions and validating script logic? a simple error message such as "unidentified command or reference at P_Account" or anything similar would have saved us 4,5 days of work! it's a lot!
    Thank you guys for your support!!

  • AD SSO "unknown user" error

    Hi all,
    I've been having trouble with AD SSO on NAC deployed in L2 OOB VG mode.
    Users are getting a message that says:
    Unknown user
    Please contact your administrator if the problem persists.
    I check the event logs in the NAC Manager and it says "Unknown user via ADSSO, [MAC_ADDRESS ## IP_ADDRESS] user@DOMAIN"
    The AS SSO service is shown as "started" for the NAC Server however, running the command "netstat -a | grep 8910" at the terminal returns nothing.
    I also try an auth test to see if there was a problem with the agent but that shows up with the same "unknown user" error.
    I tried creating an LDAP authentication server with the same options as the LDAP lookup server for AD SSO and I get the same error.
    The AD SSO was working a few days ago and the System Admin says he hasn't changed anything in the domain controller. I haven't changed anything else in the NAC config except I started rolling it out to more users.
    Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

    Hi huicab,
    The problem was that the LDAP user in the AD was in the wrong OU. I'm not the sys admin so I'm just telling you what he told me lol.
    We sniffed the port of the AD server and he realised that the credentials were being denied by AD even though no failed login attempts were logged in the system (weird =/). So he did some stuff on the user, double checked the password and all the other values and it started working. I have no clue how come it stopped working though. Now that you mention it, it was probably a security patch in the domain controller that stops users in a certian OU or outside of a certain OU from doing certain stuff. I dunno I'm really not a Windows guy but I'd recommend using Wireshark to sniff the Domain Controller's NIC at the time of the AD SSO login attempts to see what packets it gets and what reply it sends out, then you can take action from there.
    Hope this helps!

  • Unknown command problem

    hi my problem is that i am creating a maze game. the maze is a 2d array of integers. and fed in threw a reader and loaded.
    static void play(){
    try {
    //creates a buffered reader
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    //boolean varible is set to true when the program is running until exit is typed
    boolean running = true;
    while (running){
    //a new String varible which is used for input
    String line = in.readLine();
    //when the game is being played a line string says you typed. + line
    //the +line is what the user typed
    System.out.println("You typed "+line);
    //if the user types south call the south method;
    if(line.startsWith("south")){
    south();
    //if the user types east call the east method
    else if(line.startsWith("east")){
    east();
    //if the user types west call the west method
    else if(line.startsWith("west")){
    west();
    //if the user types north then call the north method
    //this is not case sensitive
    else if(line.equalsIgnoreCase("north")){
    north();
    // check if they have reached the goal
    if(currentX == goalX && currentY == goalY)
    System.out.println("You have reached the goal!");
    //print out the maze after each turn(this was only used for testing purposes)
    print();
    //if the user types exit then change the value of running to false and exit the java console
    //it also calls the equalsIgnoreCase this method will allow entry in any case
    if (line.equalsIgnoreCase("exit")){
    running = false;
    // else
    //          System.out.print( "Unknown command: " + line );
    the problem is that if the user types in an invalid command i want to display this error message.
    when i run the program however i get the error every time even though the move happens the error message is still displayed. i only want the error message to display when an invalid command is typed
    i am a beginner so please use basic language.
    thanks jon

    Use the code formatting tags when you post code.
    hi my problem is that i am creating a maze gameTrue, if you weren't creating a game, you'd probably have no problem.
    threw a readerWhere did you throw it?
    i am a beginner so please use basic language. Put your "unknown command output" and exit check blocks directly after the check for "north"

    Moazzam,
    Are you aware this forum has a search function?
    Do you think you are the first with this problem?
    Why do you state you have an 'unknown listener error'?
    You don't!
    You can look up the error on http://tahiti.oracle.com
    Please 'do the needful' to avoid asking doc questions in the future!

    hei!
    I have a simple SessionBean, deployed to remote OC4J.(the bean is tested locally and is fine)
    using Jdeveloper, I create a client to call my sessionBean methods.
    If I create the client to run agains the embedded oc4j, it works fine.
    If I create a client that runs agains the remote oc4j, I get this error:

    and a lot of
    java.lang.Object com.evermind.server.rmi.RemoteInvocationHandler.invoke(java.lang.Object, java.lang.reflect.Method, java.lang.Object[])
    appreciate your help

    Russel ,
    Have you started remote OC4J Server? Also can you able to browse
    JNDI tree of Remote OC4J Server from JDeveloper?
    Also provide following information in order to understand your problem fully
    1. Which OC4J version you are using?
    2. Platform in which you are testing your application?
    3. Provide full stack trace of error that you are getting
    Cheers
