Navigating back to initial portal screen

Hi folks,
I have a scenario in which I have to given an option 'Home' on my portal just as we have it in normal websites.
My portal page has a link "Home' on the top. When any user clicks on it the portal page should go back to its initial state, it should again display the content present on the first screen like 'homepage' in websites.
How do I do it?
Please help in this regard.
Please tell me the basics steps too as i'm new to portal.

Hi Prasanna,
You can implement this by using event handler and pagestatus variable in the portalcomponent.
When the home is clicked the event will change the pagestatus = mainpage
Something like this

How to make Navigation Panel invisible on portal screen????

Hi,
I need to create two roles ( X and Y ).
when the user is assgned role X: he should see standard portal screen
When user is assigned role Y: he should see customized portal screen.
Features of customized portal screen:
All features of portal should not be seen. The user should see only the iview and nothing else.
What I have done:
Created Role ( X and Y ) and respective iviews
With Framework page:
I copied standard framework page. made all iviews invisible except Desktop Innerpage.
I opend the Innerpage. I made all all iviews invisible except the Content Area.
With Desktop:
I create new desktop and assigned the new framework page to deaktop and made it default.
With Rule Collection: I created new rule collection where:
if Role = Y
display: new desktop
if role = X
display: default desktop
Result:
when I login with role X it shows default Desktop
Problem Area: When i login with ROLE Y, No portal feature is visible But We can still Expand and collapse Navigation panel.
Requirement: I do not want the user should see the navigation panel. It should not be visible on screen even though it is empty.
I tried lots almost all properties. Please help.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Then you have to create Role Y without workset or Page only with iViews, so no Navigation will be generated. :h1
But if you habe Workset and Page in your role , just go to all Page and workset and set this properties>navigation>Invisible in Navigation Areas to false.

'Back to initial screen button' is inactive.

Hello,
in the srm portal, when i go to Process Purchase order and display a PO.
For a PO in display mode:
1)At first, the header data tab is active and i click on output preview of the smartform.
2) i close the smartform window.
3)I click on the Item data tab.
4)I click again on the Output preview for smartform.
5) I close the smartform.
6) Finally when i click on the 'Back to initial screen' button it does not do anything.
it occurs only when i follow the sequence 1-6. thx for help.

The same steps which you have written working fine in my srm system.
I am on SRM 5.00. and suport pack SAPKIBKT12.
Can you check this in your system.
Its a standard functionality you need not to do any thing for this.

You have do some modification on desktop framework page.
Please follow these procedure :-
Content admin -> portal content -> Navigate & Open default Framework page ->
select the check box "Desktop inner page" -> Press Open -> Select the check box in the Visibible column against "Content Area" (uncheck the remaining checkboxes for others in Desktop inner page) -> save -> logout and login to portal

Navigating back from a screen

Hi all,
we have creaed a hiring action in HR. i have to check whether a user came to a particular screen by navigating backwards from the next screen in the hiring action. i have to write some code if the user navigates backwards from a screen. can anyone tell me how i can check if a user pressed the back button on the previous screen to come to the current screen.

In the PAI of the previous screen,
Add following code.
CASE V_OKCODE.
when 'BACK'.
V_FLAG = 'X'.
ENDCASE.
In the current screen,
check if the flag is 'X', he has come from previous screen.

Blank screen while pressing "Cancel" or "Back" button in Portal

Hi Experts,
We have a peculiar problem.
The user is trying to access time levelling report (which is a
iView) in MSS.
The user is getting the output of the report. When the user tries to press "back button" from the output screen (which is a SAP Transaction iView) the user is getting blank screen insted of report input screen.
Please suggest me some hints to resolve this.

I was calling details screen( screen called from ALV) using call screen in double click event. I changed this to SET SCREEN 110.LEAVE SCREEN. Now my back button in ALV screen started working as expected.

(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

There are other things you can do, and you'll find differing opinions about such things. In general, I think implementing the "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server" and adding the SARE rules will help a lot. Good luck!

I have OSX 10.5.7 on my Intel Mac. When I try to login using the correct password the screen goes white and just returns back to the login screen. It does not jiggle like when you enter the wrong password.

I have had a number of issues with my Intel Mac recently and had to reboot using disk utilities, safe mode, OSX recovery, but always come back to the login screen but when I type my password the screen goes white and returns to the login screen. My password is correct and the login does not jiggle as it would if the password was wrong. Please advise,

Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. There are ways to back up, even if you can’t log in. Before proceeding,you must be sure you can restore everything to the state it’s in now. If you’re not sure you can do that, STOP.

Next, type the following command:
rm -i /var/audit/current
Press return. You should get the following output:
remove /var/audit/current?
If that's not what you get, STOP. Type the single letter N, press return, and try again. Otherwise, type the single letter Y and pressreturn.
Finally, enter the command:
exit
Press return. The text will start scrolling again, and then the system will reboot. Try again to log in.

2) i already told you , you need to specify the correct path of the services, if the path was wrong how it can be reflected. the path you specified doesn't contain any data so it was reflecting the blank page
3) to reflect the old changes, you have the screen shot of old scenario which you have attached in SDN, you can make the changes in the same way
i implemented this scenario in my project one year back....it was working fine with no issues...i feel very bad as mentioned as don't try this scenario it will collapse your portal

Calling portal screen from workflow and required two level approvals to approve in portal

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement that, I would trigger a process order approval workflow from SRM SUS portal. Agent when he clicks the link in the attached mail, it has to take him to the portal screen to approve and it has to go to next level manager for the approval. Once both the managers approves, the approved quantity should be reflected in the SRM SUS portal for the order.
I have good experience in SAP WORKFLOWS in ECC. However; I have never worked on workflows through webdynpro and never worked on SRM portals as well.
Please help me in completing this scenario. I have found the proper button in the portal to trigger the workflow. Please guide me the best approach to design and how should I pass webdynpro application link to agent mail with the parameter Order. and how can i bring the control back to my workflow.

Need to select current tab (dynamically generated) while navigation back

Hi,
Jdev 11.1.1.3 version.
In my sample application I have two pages, DynamicTab.jspx and NextPage.jspx. In DynamicTab page I have dynamic tab (number of tabs depends on the data in db). Also have one 'Next' button. While clicking on 'Next' button we can navigate to NextPage.jspx. In NextPage.jspx I have only one 'Back' button to navigate back to 1st page.
Lets assume I have 3 records in the db as a result 3 tabs will be there in the DynamicTab page. I have selected 2nd tab and then navigated to NextPage.jspx.
While navigating back to 1st screen I see the 1st tab is selected not the 2nd one.
My requirement is the current tab need to be selected while navigating back again (not the 1st tab always)

But in your case you will need to construct the ShowDetailItem component Id dynamically for this solution to work.

Right click on each role you have created -> Open -> Object -> In properties look for property category "Navigation" -> Look for property "Sort Priority" -> the role with lowest sort priority, appears as the first tab.
By default, the sort priority is 100.

Custom Columns in ECM MSS Portal screen not updating IT0759

Hi,
We are implementing ECM - MSS.
We have enhanced IT0759 with custom fields.
Some of those custom fields are display fields on Portal and some of them are input fields on portal. Display fields are working fine because we have specified custom function modules on the Data Provider block to derive their values during runtime.
Whereas, for the input fields, we are unable to update the data back into IT0759 from the Portal screen. Since, Portal is calling the FM HR_ECM_UI_HANDLE_PROCESS_DATA directly and the custom fields are not available on the structure PROC_PLANNED_TAB (refer HRECM00PROC_INFO for fields).
If anyone has suggestions, please provide...

HP G72 won't advance past initial HP screen

After reformatting my hard drive, Windows booted fine. I started installing the many Windows updates that were needed and when I came back to my computer, it seems that it restarted and was stuck on the initial HP screen. Now it will not advance past this screen and it will not respond to a startup CD or pushing any buttons like F8 or ESC does nothing. Did something go wrong with the hard drive?

I had this problem several months ago and it turned out to be my hard drive. If you have Apple Care or if you're still under your 1 year warranty Apple should replace it free of charge.
