Navigation column link on Custom Homepage Report

I have a working navigation column to another report when viewing the report from the shared folder. If I add the report to the homepage as a custom homepage report the navigation link on the column values no longer works.
The value from the homepage report goes to https://secure-ausomxgea.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/ReportIFrameView?SAWDetailViewURL=saw.dll%3fGo
Any thoughts on why it works on the report itself but not when the report is added as a custom homepage report? Any work around or other type of link to try to get to another report?
Thanks

I was able to create an html link on a new column. Now I'm trying to make the text be dynamic.
Is it possible to have an html column with the text for an html link to be based off of a field?

  • Conditional display of a column link in sql updateable report

    Hi There,
I've attempted to look thru the Apex forum about using an Authorization Scheme in an SQL Query (Updateble Report) where I can conditionaly enable (display) a column link based upon a value in the report but alas I cannot find a solution.
What I have is a SQL Query (updateable report). What I want to achieve is dependant on the value of one of the columns in the report query conditionaly display a column link for the row being displayed. For example if the report dispayed the data from emp, dept only display a column link for rows where the deptno = 100 otherwise don't display the column link. Is this possible to achieve?
I've tried to define in the authorizatuon scheme in the where clause of an SQL Statement to reference the report column as #deptno# but this doesn't work.
    TIA

    Boketi,
I was unsuccessful yesterday in demoing what I believe you want to achieve. It appears that an authorization scheme will not process row by row within a standard report so as to allow a conditional display of a link or any other column attribute. You can conditionally display a column by the use of a page item but this method appears to be all or nothing.
I was successful when I coded the return of the empno via a Case statement but the Link still appeared even though there was no value (empno) to link with. So essence the link to you to a blank for with no PK to read the database by.
SELECT CASE WHEN deptno = 10 THEN empno ELSE NULL END empno,
           ename,
           job,
           hiredate,
           sal,
           comm,
           deptno,
           phone_nbr
    FROM   empJeff

  • Column Issue in custom DBI report

    Hello all,
I created one custom DBI report. In that Start Time filed should shows Date and time (ie. 4/1/2009 5:14:14 PM).
But in my custom report it is showing only the date (time is hiding).
I tried to update the field, that display type as Date. There is only one value is appearing.
Please help me to resolve this issue. Its very urgent.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Muthu

I build the DBI custom report for the below query and I submitted my toad output. Update the query in your report to use one of the functions mentioned above to get the format you want.
    select USER_ID, LOGIN_NAME, START_TIME, END_TIME, LOGIN_TYPE from
    fnd_logins
In toad output Date and Time is populating not in DBI output.
    Toad output
    USER_ID LOGIN_NAME START_TIME END_TIME LOGIN_TYPE
    0 10/13/2011 23:35 10/13/2011 23:35 FORM
    0 10/13/2011 23:40 10/13/2011 23:40 FORM For example,
    SQL> select USER_ID, to_char(START_TIME, 'DD-MON-YYY HH24:MI:SS')

  • Execute a DML process after user selects a column link in a report

    APEX 3.2 / RDBMS 10GR2
I have written a non IRR report that displays several rows of data. The first column of each row has a defined column link uniquely identifying the row. When a user selects one of the rows via the column link, a "hi fidelity" report is generated for that displayed row using a (RTF) report layout created in the shared components section of APEX.
This is working well but I also need to execute a DML process after the user selects a row but prior to displaying the hi fidelity report using the selected column link value of the displayed row.
As a URL is used to call hi fidelity report via the column link, it does not appear that the process section of the APEX page component is available to execute the DML prior to displaying the report.
Any ideas on where to define the DML process?
    Thanks in advance.
    Barry D

    Hi Barry,
Not knowing exactly what your URL calls, this is what I do for PL/SQL procedures that create HTML output:
Create a blank page with no template and call the procedure inside a PL/SQL region with no template.
Alternatively, if your URL opens in a new window:
run some javascript for your link and pass a unique request through.
The javascript needs to find the ApEx form, update it's target attribute and submit it with the unique request, then set the target back to blank.
The form will submit into a new window.
You can then have a process and branch allocated to this unique request to do what you want.
    Hope this helps

  • Enabled Homepage Reports Not Appearing in "Available Sections" picklist

    Good afternoon,
I have created numerous custom homepage reports and have enabled them to be added to homepage layouts. However, when building a new homepage layout, not all of the reports that have been enabled are visible in the "Available Sections" picklist. I cannot figure out why because all of the reports are listed in the "My Homepage Custom Reports" section. Is there a limit to the number of reports that will appear in the "Available Sections" picklist?
I'm stumped on this one. Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, is there a solution or a possible reason this is happening?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ryan

when you set up the reports did you select home page in the drop down or did some of them get set a detail page reports? that would be my only suggestion.
    cheers

  • Column Link - how to get back to the same row on previous form

    Using Apex 3.2.1
I've created a column link on an updateable report which opens up another page for data entry. This is working fine but when you return to the originating page, is there a way to get back to the same row you were on before linking.
The user enters a number in the AMOUNT field. A validation trigger says they need to enter an EXPLANATION. They link to the EXPLANATION page. But when they return to the first page, they don't know which row they were on AND the value they originally entered in AMOUNT is back to the database value. So is there a way to preserve the AMOUNT value and rowid from the originating page?
Hope this makes sense and appreciate any and all help!
    Sandie

    Hi Sandie,
I may not be understanding the requirements completely, but one thing that strikes me off the bat is it sounds like what you need isn't really a "validation" per se. The data the user is entering may be perfectly valid, it's just that in certain circumstances additional information is required. I only mention this because an ApEx validation by definition shouldn't allow changes to be made to the database - but in your case it sounds like the information entered up to that point can be saved (as long as it satisfies actual data validation rules), but then additional information for certain rows is required.
One thing you might consider is having the Explanation page pop-up in a new window. So user is on tabular form with current row visible - user clicks on explanation link which pops up a new page - user enters explanation and clicks "submit" - pop-up page disappears leaving user right where he/she was.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Report region with column link that opens a pdf doc based on report query

    Hello
I'm building a report table that displays info about a customer - simple select - and, for each record, has associated column links based on report queries that receive ID as parameter. When clicked, it opens the report in pdf extension. My problem here is how to pass the ID as a parameter to that report query considering i'm using a report table and that there are no items in page 71...
This is the report query i'm using:
    select initcap(a.customer) customer
    , initcap(a.address) address
    , initcap(a.rep) rep
    , (select initcap(b.city)
    from portal_records b
    where b.contrib=a.contrib
    and b.year=to_char(sysdate,'yyyy')) city
    , (to_char(a.datereg,'dd')||' de '||to_char(a.datereg,'Month')||' de '||to_char(a.datereg,'yyyy')) datereg
    from portal_authorizations_cve a
    where a.id=:P71_ID ???????????????
I thank in advance all your replies!!

    Hello
First of all, let me compliment your for your demo application... It's awesome!
I've looked into your sample (page 15) and, as far as i see, it opens a document saved in a table's column. I don't want the file to be saved there but generated when the user clicks on that particular link... So i still have the problem of how to pass the right ID as a parameter considering there is no page item on that page...
My javascript knowledge is little so i ask you: when clicking the link, is there any way of opening a window with the url f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:PRINT_REPORT=Authorization_CVE and the ID as a parameter?
    I thank in advance!

    hi experts,
How can we create form report with both edit and column link. Ie, the form should have both the Edit link and column link. When we click on the edit link(in page1) it should go for the page2 and the page2 should display the corresponding row fields which should be editable. but when i click the column link it should bring me to the next page but the corresponding values of the column should not be editable.

  • Column Links in Apex Reports

I am using version 4.0 of APEX.  My question concerns linking to other APEX pages from a report.  In APEX we link to another page, which may be a form or another report, by using a column in the report as a link column.  Any column may be used to transfer values from any other column.  This works fine, but the disadvantage is that whichever column is used as the link column has a heading which identifies the column's purpose but may not identify the purpose of the transition to another page.  In Oracle Forms, we could use buttons as a column of the multi-row screen (i.e. same as APEX report), and the button's label identified the purpose for the transition.
Is there any way to create a column in an APEX report  to serve the same purpose as the button in Oracle Forms?

When discussing "reports" it is essential to indicate whether this means a standard report or an interactive report in order to receive an appropriate response.
It is possible to create a link column that is distinct from report data columns. In standard reports, this is done using the Add Column Link option from the Tasks menu in the right sidebar of the Report Attributes page. In interactive reports, define a Link Column on the Report Attributes page.
To provide further information about links to users in both cases, specify an HTML title attribute for the link in the Link Attributes property of the link definition. This will be rendered as a tooltip when the cursor hovers over the link in visual browsers, and as an audio cue on navigation to the link when using a screen reader.

    Hi
    Read this and follow it...
    >
Go to the report attributes, then click on the edit link button by the side of the column you want to be a link to get to the column attributes.
    >
    So...
    1. Go to edit the page that contains your report.
    2. Click on the report region as if you were going to edit the report query.
    3. Click the Report Attributes tab.
    4. Click the button at the side of the column in question.
    5. Scroll down to the Column Link section and fill in the details.
I really can't put it much more simply than that...
    Cheers

  • Passing parameter from interactive report column link to new page

I'm very simply trying to pass the value of the column link to the where clause on the next page.
Interactive Report on P2 has column link fid alias in sql query.
I read somewhere to refer prefix the interactive report column with IR ??
So I have item name P2_FID, value #FID#. Anyway, I've tried a kazillion things.
Created a hidden item with same source value... sigh.
Is there a syntax to refer to a report column link, rather than an item_id in a region where clause?
Is there a simple direct way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Pamela
    -----pls/apex/f?p=163:1:2746459963336955::NO::P2_FID:119

    Thank you Varad...
Unfortunately, I am still getting no data found. (and there IS data).
    a) Do you mean in the link column section of the report attributes? that is done: item 1 name= IR_P2_FID, value = #FID#
    b) Do you mean my changing my hidden page item to ir_p2_fid with its source value as #FID# ? also done.
Do I need this hidden item?, and if not how do I refer to link in the where clause of the called page's sql region?
    3) Where Fishery_id = :IR_P2_FID
    Where Fishery_id = &IR_P2_FID
    Thanks again!

    - Create a new Region of type Classic Report, then set Region source as :
    begin
    return test_return_query;
end;- Run the page, the report works as expected
    - Go to Report Attributes and click Add Column Link (and just specify a text for the link and a page to go to).
    - Run the page, you should get the error !This might be unorthodox but try wrapping your returned query within an SQL statement, like so:
       begin
          return 'SELECT t.* FROM ('||test_return_query||') t';
       end;
I can reproduce it on oracle.apex.com if needed...If my suggestion doesn't work, I think this might be the only option. You could create a new forum posting with the word "BUG" in the title, along with a link to this thread and the relevant workspace details (with guest developer credentials).

  • How to Link column header only in classic Report in APEX 4.1

    Hello Everybody,
Probably there is a simpler way to do this, but I am not sure. I want a link on column header in Report on a specific column. The link will take me to new region or a page.
How to achieve this in APEX 4.1
    Theme : Blue 2
    Database 11g
I see there is a column link opiton, but that creates link for every row in that column on a specific icon, I just want link on a title of the column in Classic Report.
    For Example,
if there are two columns Name and Client ID, which has 10 records to display on a classic report. I wan the link on Client ID on header only not on the records.
Can anybody provide some simple solution for this.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I didn't understand, what do you mean by default it is going to sort popup. I have a classic report based on SQL, which generates a report with static header, there is no sort or any other link on that.
I added a link in column header name with an anchor. It works and takes to the new page.
But it is not a proper solution. A solution based on Jquery dynamic action is preferable. Also the preferred option is that the link opens a hidden region of the same page at the same location of the report and the report gets hidden. after the procession on the form region and submitting the update/ insert process. the report region shows up with the change data.
Moving on to new page is 2nd option, if the first do not work.
    In the JavaScript, put: apex.submit("GO_TO_MY_OTHER_PAGE");
On the page, create a Branch to the Second page. Set the condition to Request=Expression 1. Set the request to "GO_TO_MY_OTHER_PAGE"
On which page I need to create a branch?, Is it on the report page or the form page.
Thanks a lot for the response. I appreciate your kind efforts in this regard.

I'm trying to get a column link in a report to work and I keep on getting the error "Query cannot be parsed, please check the syntax of your query. (ORA-00972: identifier is too long)" The code looks like this:

    Thanks for the replies.
After I posted, I tried something a little different that is sort of working. I tried making my link like so:
'<a href=''f?p=&APP_ID.:287:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.">LINK</a>'(The '#' is really a double quote but I had to make it like that for the forum...)
When I use the above link syntax with a SQL query it works. The problem is, I need to use a PL/SQL function returning n SQL query. When I try the same link syntax with that, it seems to think :287 is a bind variable.
    I get the error message:
(ORA-20001: Unable to bind :287 verify length of item is 30 bytes or less. Use v() syntax to reference items longer than 30 bytes. ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist)
    Thanks again
