    Im looking for a telnet client (without SSH) for N8. I might also pay for it!
    I've already tried putty (its SSH only ..sad)
    I've already tried Fshell ver. 5 ...it has ping but no telnet command.
    If there is any other sugestion or development underway please share.

    I am using Telmu SSH/Telnet client in my n95. It is available for s60 2nd edition as well as 3rd. It is not free though, full version costs 15 EUR.

    I'm the developer and would be glad to answer any questions by Email.
    What's different about Phone Amego is:
    (1) It does both dialing and caller ID.
    (2) It embraces the iPhone and the Internet.
    (3) It is designed to work with many popular phones.
    (4) It includes a lightweight CRM that integrates with other tools as needed.
    (5) It focusses on Mac-to-phone integration, not trying to be another phone or answering
    machine.
    (6) It's made for the Mac.

  • Firewall implementation in java

    Need help about firewall implementation in java,Is it possible to develop application level firewall in java?how?

    No.
    You can control a firewall in C or such from Java. But you must have native codes in part of it.
    This question is asked repeatedly.. you really should have searched because the answer is always the same. You can't do it directly in Java.

  • Having problems with a Java Telnet Client

    I'm trying to write a Telnet Client(for a mud). I've searched the forum but can't seem to find the answer to my problem. The mud sends the ANSI color codes, is there anyway to get java to interpret this, or will I have to make a parser and do all the work by hand?

    Try looking up RFC854 & RFC855. A Google Search will give several references. Other Searches include "Interpret As Command", and "Telnet IAC Options".
    The keys to telnet communications:
    1. Unless it is explicitly a command, it is data.
    2. All Commands start with the Interpret As Command (IAC) character, decimal 255 or hexidecimal ff.
    3. IAC DO/DONT/WILL/WONT Negotiations for a Telnet Option occurs before IAC SB/SE Subnegotiations. DON'T/WON'T is the default Telnet Network Virtual Terminal (NVT) setting for all options.
    4. All Negotiations complete before you get to the data phase.
    5. Be ready for Negotiations, at the start and during the middle of the Telnet Session....
    Here is an example of decoding Telnet
    The remote host may start with the following, shown in decimal:
    255, 253, 3, 255, 253, 24, etc...
    Viewed as UTF text, this appears to be some "y" characters with special accents above them.
    Cheat Sheet:
    255 == Interpret As Command (IAC)
    254 == DON'T, as is "I DON'T support xyz...."
    253 == DO, as in "I DO support xyz..."
    252 == WON'T, as in "You WON'T support abc..."
    251 == WILL, as in "You WILL support abc..."
    250 == SuBnegotiations Start (SB)
    240 == Subnegotiations End (SE)
    The above has 2 commands:
    - 255, 253, 3 == IAC DO Suppress Go Ahead
    - 255, 253, 24 == IAC DO Terminal Type
    Appropriate Responses could be:
    - 255, 251, 3, 255, 251, 24, etc....
    OR
    - 255, 252, 3, 255,252, 24, etc...
    OR
    - 255, 251, 3, 255, 252, 24, etc...
    OR
    - 255,252, 3, 255, 251,24, etc...
    Once you get the remotes questions answered, you can move on to the real work of passing data.
    Cheers,
    Joel.

  • Java telnet client on windows 2000 Telnet Service

    Hi All,
    I am trying to find a java based telnet client which can connect to Windows2000 telnet Service. All the telnet client which I found are throwing somekind of TimedOutException. This is happening despite the telnet server up and running(I am able to connect it through the windows telnet client).
    does anybody have a working jar/api which i can use from my program to telnet to a w2k telnet service.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Finding an EJB object. Web clients vs. Java clients

    From what I've read this is the process for a web client to find an EJB object: the client uses JDNI to find a reference to the EJBHome interface and then it uses the create method from this interface which makes the container to begin to work, creating an instance of the implementation class and an instance of the EJBObject interface, and returning a reference to the EJBObject, which will be used by the client to call the methods.
    Are there any differences if the client is a java application and not a web client?

    The Java Client talk to the server with random ports
    not 80. Gives me a headache. _*why?
    There's no need to get headaches about it, in fact no need to worry about it at all.
    Just have the JNDI services available so you can do the lookup (which might require opening a port (or more than one) on the firewall, but that's it.
    And that's no different between a standalone client and a web application client. Both need to do that JNDI lookup.

  • Telnet Client Application using J2ME

    Hi all ,
    we are implementing RFC 854 a Telnet Client Application using J2ME.
    we used socket connection and able to get the connection and response,then telnet server is asking to enter username, when we enter the user name it's taking the user name asking to us to enter the password ,when we enter the password it's giving garbage value in Nokia Devices but working fine with Sony Ericsson devices.please suggest any solution why it's giving garbage value in Nokia Devices.
    this is very urgent we are not able to track the problem.

  • Telnet client in Windows

    To communicate with a telnet service using java client application, sockets are used. When I type "telnet" in DOS prompt I see something like this on the console:
    Microsoft (R) Windows 2000 (TM) Version 5.00 (Build 2195)
    Welcome to Microsoft Telnet Client
    Telnet Client Build 5.00.99201.1
    Escape Character is 'CTRL+]'Why is it that when I run my code, the inputstream does not contain the above lines?
    When I send "open" or "help" in the outputstream, the telnet service does not produce any response.

  • How can I change java.policy at runtim on client machines using java webst?

    Hi,
    I have to change java.policy to launch my application through webstart to provide one RuntimePermission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";"
    Its because of a bug in java bug "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_"
    So, my problem here is, how can I do this dynamically on each client machine's java.policy.
    I have spent time on this and found some alternatives
    1. Specifying an Additional Policy File at Runtime by launching application "java -Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.policy=someURL SomeApp"
    Please refer more on this "http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/PolicyFiles.html"
    But, here the problem is, how can I do this using webstart (expert.jnlp) file even though I have the "java-vm-args" tag, its not supporting this argument.
    Please refer "http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/javaws/developersguide/syntax.html#security";
    2. Implementing the Policy in code.
    But, not sure how to do this..
    How can I grant the runtime permission on every user's machine dynamycally?
    Here are some background details on this:
    I am using java6 and weblogic 10.3.3.
    Here is thing that I tried,
    My application downloads a few jars to the client machines using java webstart and then it will get the initial context using the t3 protocal. The jars include wlclient.jar and ojdbc6.jar initially.
    The problem here I was facing, when I tried request a bean, it is giving me the following exception in the client logs.It is requesting one state less session bean and I checked the server logs as well and the bean has returned the expected values properly.
    But here I observed one more thing, before this request, one session bean(state less) has been requested successfully.

    I have tried one more thing, I have taken all the required jars to one of the client machines and executed the main class (by setting the required class path) from cmd using java instead of javaws. Surprisingly, its working fine with out any problem using the wlthint3client.jar.
    I also tried the same, by placing wlclient.jar using java in the same way(from cmd instead of javaws ), but I was facing the same exception while requesting the second session bean and found the same above exception in client logs.
    To resolve this, I come across the java bug that I have given earlier "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_".
    In that page, I found a work around for this; suggested by bea to add the Runtime permission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";" to the clients java.policy
    So, please suggest me a way to resolve this problem.
    Please suggest me if you have any other solutions for this problem.
    Thanks in advance :)

    I still think your problem is nothing to do with that ancient non-bug and that you should be looking elsewhere. You might be lucky and find someone here who can say "Ah, I know what that is" but I doubt it because since Oracle took over Sun this site has gone down hill big time.

  • Step by Step instructions importing Client Certificates on Java Engine

    Hi All,
    I am trying to configure a <b>Receiver</b> SOAP adapter with SSL, does anybody has step-by-step procedure on how to install the client certificates on Java Engine using Visual Administrator? and refer that keystore in SOAP adapter?
    PI 7.0 SP 09
    UNIX-Sun Soloris.
    Thanks,
    Laxman

    Hey Molugu,
    you shouldn't have to install the client certificates on KeyStorage Service, for receiver adapters. The server's public certificate is sent just in the SSL handshaking. What you should have is the certificate authorization tree in your Trusted ACs Service (if the issuer of your client's certificate is not already there).
    You need to install client certificates in sender adapters, when your client uses authentication through certificate. Then you need to install that authentication certificate for the authorized users.
    Check the following link for SSL on J2EE: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm

  • Calling SAP GUI Client from a Java Webdynpro app.

    Hello experts,
    We would like to call the SAP GUI client from a java WebDynpro application running without portal or ITS. Can it be done by having a web link, with mime registration in internet explorer to kick off the SAP GUI ? (similar behavior with a SAP favorite link saved on the desktop).
    many Thanks.

    Hi,
    Webdynpro possibilities:
    1. You can try to use LinkToUrl.
    with reference to file://<exefile> or your weblink with the mime type (possibly some java coding can be required; I can try to help).
    2. other option is to use IFrame and you can use either href to your exe or weblink
    Web Explorers:
    1. IE: It should work. if you point to exe file popup window will be displayed asking for action (run, save, cance).
    2. Firefox: the only way I know to make it work is to modify nsHelperAppDlg.js file (if you need Firefox I can tell you how to modify the file).
    Kind Regards, Jack
