Need Date manipulation in BI Publisher report template
Hi All,
I need date manipulation in BI Publisher report template for e.g sysdate+4 this means i need 4 days after todays sysdate.
That menas if today date(sysdate) is 09/01/2008 then i need (sysdate+4) i.e 13/01/2008.
Please help me.

I have doubt on similar type.I have AgreementStartDate as
<AgreementStartDate>12/03/2008 07:24:10</AgreementStartDate> in XML format.
I am not able to apply same formula for thsi date format in similar manipulation.
Please help me.

VO Extension Error in modifying the query of XML Publisher Report Template
Hi Friends,
I have one requirement related to calling XML Publisher Reports Template from OAF Page.
When clicking on the submit button the XML Publisher template is calling and displaying the data.
Our requirement is to display some more columns in the XML Publisher Template and display the data.
As according to OAF stndards,whenever we need to add new columns for display or SELECT purpose,
we will do the VO Extension. So we modified the query by adding the new additional colums in the standard VO.
I am able to retrieve the data from the SQL DEVELOPER. But when doing the VO Extension process and
calling the template from the OAF page its throwing the following error.Please suggest me some alternatives
to fix the issue.

String Manipulation in BI Publisher Report Paramater
Hi,
My Problem is that I am not able to do string manipulation on BI Publisher report Prameters.
Actually I want to Show Deptno-Dname in Menu(LOV).and when I select Certain combination like '10-Accounting',and while passing the parameter:Dept I wanted to Cut the department no(10) using string manipulation functions provided by oracle in Data Model(Query) in where clause like (where deptno=to_number(substr(:Dept,1,2)).
This query is working fine in other application like TOAD,But not giving results in BI Publisher Report.
It's also not giving any error while saving or running the report.
Please suggest any solution.even I tried the following query in data model..

Date Comparison in BI Publisher Report
Hi,
I have a requirement to generate calendar report from " Daily Calendar View' in Calendar screen.
I have written code to get the "Current Selected date" in the calendar applet and passing it to report using profile Attribute.
I have created I/O and rtf template. I have to add the filter which will compare "Due Date" and "Current Selected date" and display only those activities which are for the current selected date.
My problem is Due date is in "Date Time" Format while Current selected date is in "Date" format.
Condition used in template - <?if:Due = CurrentDate?>
Due - Appointment start date (Date Time format)
CurrentDate - Current selected date in calendar applet (I have converted it to date format before passing it to report).
is there any way by which i can convert date in 'dateTime' fromat to 'Date' format in BI Publisher report.
Please let me know.

How to print Barcode data in Oracle XML Publisher Report
Hi,
We have an rdf report which prints Bar code in the starting page based on a custom procedure from MarkView. It works well with Oracle Reports.
But since the current report was a matrix report, we are changing it to a Linear report through Oracle XML Publisher Report.
We have all the things possible in the new Oracle XML Report.. But we are unable to print the Bar code data which is BLOB in the XML Report..
Can anyone help me on this? We have UAT dates around the corner..

Problem with data size in XML Publisher report
Hi Experts,
I am working on EBS11i and database 9i. I working on XML Publisher reports, i have one XML Publisher report with generating output in EXCEL format. If i submit the report, if the data is huge (like 2.3 million records), it's ending up with warning, but if data is less, it's completing normal. Could somebody help me why it's behaving like this, is it because the report is XML Report, the xml file it's generating not have enough memory in server side if the data is huge.
Could somebody help me how to solve this issue.
Note: I need output in EXCEL format only.Pl identify the version of XMLP you are using.
Pl post the complete warning message from the concurrent log file. Are there any additional error messages in the Output Post Processor log file ? Have you specified enough temp space using the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility ?

Lets say you have two smart styles with X and Y, and runtime based on the number of pages, if you would like to modify the style, then check any standard table or structue which holds and responsible for the holding the style value.
If you can trace that, based on the coding we can modify accordingly.

Converting a simple Oracle Report to XML Publisher report template

I have a simple Oracle Report 9i which displays data from four tables. It uses three different queries to get the data. How can I simply generate a template file(say RTF) or atleast an XML source from that report? Are you referring to how to get xml out put from seeded report i mean from EBS that already in oracle reports,
then you need to query from respective application by creating new concurrent program and then change the out put to XML, you will get xml file then save it to your system.
By using this input xml fle you can create RTF template whatever you want the foramat, after that you upload back this RTF file to EBS using XML PUBLISHER ADMINISTRATOR responsibility.

I can generate a report (pdf file) from the template in the report, both in the web interface and by calling the BI Publisher WSDL method runReportInSession. Unfortunately the report does not show any data from the data source.
I am defining the RTF templates with the latest version of the Template Builder for MS-Word (version 10.1.3.4.1 build 130), downloaded last week. My MS-Word version is MS-Word 2002 SP3 on a Windows 2003 server (32 bit). The BI Publisher Server runs on the same machine under Tomcat 6.
Two versions of the Template Builder seem to exist. The first version is contained within the BI Publisher server download and the second one is a separate download, both downloaded from the same oracle download page. The sizes of the two installation files are different, the latter file is slightly bigger. Nevertheless the help shows that they both have exactly the same version and build number !

When Customer has multiple claims, single payment issued for both claims. Also single claim can multiple payments such (part compensation, interests, final compensation etc)

BI Publisher Report Template Error - Trial Version
I am running the trial version of BI Publisher and getting an error when attempting to create report layout using the Report Editor for version 11g Release 1(11.1.1). The choice of templates does not stay up for selection. The error in the log is "Incomplete xlst._XDONFSEPARATORS: decimal separator: null, grouping separator: null". Any idea how to correct?

Complex If logic in BI Publisher report template

We are working on a fresh BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1 install and are setting up a custom template.
We want to accomplish the following, but the template will not accept the logic.
In the ‘Reciever' field we want logic along the lines of:
If ssType like ‘*Ut’ and ssCaseClassification = ‘Skjerming’ and ssResponseType <> ‘Forward’ then ssRecipient = ‘***’ else ssRecipient
And in the ‘'Sender' field:
If ssType like ‘*Inn’ and ssCaseClassification = ‘Skjerming’ then ssSender = ‘***’ else ssSender
Please assist us on the correct syntax.
Also:
Is it possible to insert a page brake if the for-each ssAction is not completed on the page?
We have tried several logic variations to achieve this, such as:

I don't exactly have a solution to your problem, but I can tell you that "like" functionality is not available in the syntax you want. I had a quite similar requirement some time ago, I wanted to use "like" functionality but it seems like there is none. Finally, I accomplished the requirement using a function "Starts-With" ... e.g. instead of

Report template enhancement? no data found message
I have a layout in which I want to show the excel export link in the same html table as a logo, so that code needs to be placed in the report template, but when no data is found I still want to show the logo and so all my reports have the same html code in the "no data found" field. Whenever I want to change this I have to change my template as well as all of my reports.
Wouldn't it be a nice idea to provide for a "no data found" message in the report template instead of the report itself? I can imagine you would want to show the same "no data found" message anyway for all reports so the template would be a logical place to put this.There are known issues with Interactive Reports referencing :REQUEST value, probably due to some inner logic that also handles it simultaneously - potentially causing malfunction or deadlocks.
One workaround I've learned is to create a computation to assign :REQUEST to a temporary item (a PXX_REQUEST, for instance) and reference it in the query, instead of :REQUEST. This has worked fine for me in my experience.

In my project I have to make certain calculation and then get the data plotted in the given report template. I am using automated script for this. My script is doing all the calculations and then it not selecting and drag-dropping the selected channels on the report template. Its saving the blank report template.
I am struggling to get the data for specific channels plotted by using the script. I need the selected channels to be plotted on this report template and then get it saved.

Brad is absolute right. It is possible to create your whole layout via script.
If you have loaded the example report layout you can copy these lines to create a new line in your plot. This is the recommended object oriented way.

For performance reasons it's recommended to use the it like this.

oLine.XChannel.Reference = "[1]/Zeit"
oLine.YChannel.Reference = "[1]/Geschwindigkeit"
Like Brad mentioned it is much easier, that you have a stored template of your report with all setings and customisations already done.
You open this layout file and have stored the names of your calculated channels. When you are doing this with a script they always have the same name and belong to the same group.
Now you can customize the references of the line items.

Sorting Problem in XML Publisher Report
Dear Members,
I am facing problems with sorting data in my XML Publisher Report.
We are using Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 Version and i developed a rtf Template and executable is an RDF which generates XML Data.
I want the whole report to group by element ITEM_NAME which is a character in the ascending order. I tried several ways but it is not working properly.
I don't know how to upload the RTF template in this forum. I tried to post the XML Code and since its excceds 30000 characters i cant post it in the forum.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
