I do not think MCPKit will help you on the iPhone. It is just an Objective-C wrapper around the standard mysql libraries which are not available for the iPhone. Your best bet would be to post on the mysql forums and see if you can get any help.
You can try extracting the mysql client library source code into a separate static library project, and see if you can get it to build for the iPhone.

  • Need help connecting to my home computer from work

Hi, I am trying to connect to my home computer from my work computer, but I am not able to connect to it. I do CMD+K (from work) and type in the IP address (with & without smb:// &/or afp://), but home computer does not show up or the connection times out. My home computer is awake and file sharing & remote login are on. My home computer is an Imac 20" Intel Core 2 Duo connected via cable modem @ 12mbps running 10.5.2. My work computer is a Power Mac G5 Duel 2.7 running 10.4.11. Am I not able to connect because of the OS difference? Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. Sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find any posts with questions like this. Thanks.

"Screen Sharing" needs to be turned on. "Allow access" needs to be configured properly.
Can you connect to you computer from the office via command K using afp? Does the login window come up? What kind of a network do you have at the office? Are you behind a firewall there or is it a direct connection? (one of our labs at my university is tied down so tight you can't connect to any ip addresses outside the firewall unless the IT administrator puts that ip address into his little magic box,)
Last week I was using my laptop to connect with a computer across the hall. It would not recognize the ip address. I rebooted the laptop and it started working.
If you have the correct ip address and your office network is not behind some kind of heavy duty vpn firewall it may be your router at home.
Of course maybe Rush Limbaugh made a real point today in calling for Steve Jobs to recognize there are some bugs in Leopard and fixing them.

  • HT1386 I need help getting my music to sync from iphone to computer itunes. Got a new computer and everything else will sync but my music from my iphone.

I use my work computer to sync my iphone due to outlook appointments and email.  I was given a new computer and got everything transferred ok, except for my music.  I need to transfer my music from my iphone to my computer itunes.  itunes is only giving me the option to sync from itunes to iphone, which would wipe out all of my music I think.  Can someone help with this?

razmee209 is right, but if you can't get your old computer, you can use iExplorer to download your music from your phone to your computer.  I've used it for other things and it works.

  • Need help connecting a MS Sql Database in CF Administrator

    Good morning,
I`m hoping someone out there can help me.
I simply want to add a MS SQL datasource within Coldfusion Administrator.
I have connected to it successfully with Sql Server Management Studio, using Windows Authentication.
I`m assuming I need to use Windows Authentication to connect within Coldfusion Administrator
How do I fill out these fields then:
because I am getting this error:
Connection verification failed for data source: test
java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer  JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket. Unknown host: local
The root cause was that:  java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC  Driver]Error establishing socket. Unknown host: local
I have also tried it with localhost as opposed to local.
    Please help?
    Thanks;
    Rhonda

    I believe you DON'T.
ColdFusion, by default, does not run as any type of user that would work with Windows Authentication.  It can be set up to do so, through the windows services panel.  You configure the ColdFusion service(s) to "Log On As" some windows domain account with the desired permissions.  This is normally done to allow CFML code to access network resources for file operations and the like.
But, I don't know if that is good enough for a connection to a SQL server.  I've never had to deal with it myself (I have operations and database administrators types who deal with this for me).  But I have read many many times on forums like this that the default security configuration of SQL server does not work with ColdFusion.  That one has to set up an alternate configuration in SQL, TCP/IP I think?

  • Not able to connect to remote MySQL database using Connector/J

I have an application that uses a connection pool for database access.
It is initialized with this context.xml entry:
The db server is running on port 3307.
         <Resource name="jdbc/DB" auth="Container"
                        type="javax.sql.DataSource" username="un" password="pw"
                        removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="60" logAbandoned="true"
                        driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
                        url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3307/myDB"
maxActive="8" maxIdle="4"/>Now after starting the context, I can see I have a connection to my database using the MySQL Administrator. So I know I am connecting.
The problem is, when I try to query any table in the db, I get this message:
    java.sql.SQLException
    : Table myDB.TABLE_NAME' doesn't exist
    at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.checkErrorPacket(
    MysqlIO.java:2921) ...
I know it does in fact exist because I am looking at it. And the code I am using works perfectly fine as long as it is running on a local db server.
    Any ideas?

I know it does in fact exist because I am looking at
it. And the code I am using works perfectly fine as
long as it is running on a local db server.
    Any ideas?Yes two.
I am bit unclear about the last thing you said... you are testing with two different servers or two different clients?
Anyway here are the possibilities off the top of my head.
    1) Some sort of security issue. Surrounding who and from where users can connect to the database in question.
    2) Case sensitivity problem. On Windows MYSQl makes all it's table names lower case only. Then it onlu supports the correct case to access them.
    For example
    CREATE TABLE TestMe
Can then only be accessed with
    SELECT * FROM testme
    Not TestMe.
This appears to vary with version but i have seen this issue before.

  • Need help connecting to remote Mac

At my work location I have two Macs, a MacPro and a Mac mini. I have a MacBook that goes between work and my house. The two work Mac's are connected to the network via ethernet. I join the work network with the MacBook via wireless, and I am able to "see" and connect to the mini and the MacPro from the Macbook, and I can connect to the mini from the MacPro as well.
At home, I can still see the two work Macs in my sidebar in the finder, but I can only successfully connect to the MacPro from home. My connection to the work mini fails every time, and I'm stumped as to how to fix this issue. Any ideas?
Other details, the MacPro and MacBook are running the latest Mac OS; the mini is running 10.5.8

Well, I think I answered my question, or at least found one solution. I ended up using screen sharing from the MacBook to the MacPro and then connected to the mini via the MacPro to see the mini's static IP. Now, I'm able to connect remotely with that...would be nice to know why things don't work a little easier, as I'm sure I'm missing a basic setting.

  • Need help - How do I sync contacts from iPhone TO my computer (Windows XP)?

I have manually entered my contacts into my iPhone for a year now and would like to transfer the information from my iPhone to my computer. My default email account on the iPhone is my Yahoo! account. I am afraid to try it on my own because I don't want to lose my info. Advice, please?!

Firstly, ensure you're using iTunes 7.7. In iTunes, select your iPhone and then go to the info menu. The first selection will be contacts. Tick the box that says "Sync Address Book contacts". You can then select all contacts. Click the Apply button (bottom right corner) and sync. Contacts should appear on the computer. It syncs between the not delete. As for yahoo email account, you can try, nothing will be lost.

  • How to connect to a MySQL database in another server

    Dear friends,
I am using Oracle SQL Developer 1.5.3 and I need to connect to a MySQL database located in another server.
I am trying to create a new connection, informing connection name, username and password. Supposing that "Hostname" is the IP server address, I click on "Choose database", but I always receive the following error message: "Status : Failure - Cannot connect to MySQL server".
Please tell me what I should do to solve this situation. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Franklin

You need to configure your mysql database to accept connection from your PC for the user you used.
    For example,
    GRANT ALL ON *.* TO 'someuser'@'somehost';
    FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

  • Applet connection to remote MySql - HELP

    Hi:
I've got an applet that connects to a MySql database (4.1).
As long as I try to connect to the MySql server on the machine the applet is running on (my development computer), everything works great.
I'm using this jar as the MySql connector:
    mysql-connector-java-5.0.3-bin.jar
I can connect to the remote MySql server (also 4.1) with MySql Administrator and also with .NET, no problem.
BUT - when I try to connect to the remote MySql server from the Applet I get an 'access denied' error.
I also tried it from the applet set up as a Java application with a main function. If I try to connect to the local MySql server, no problem. If I try to connect to the remote machine I get a 'connection timeout' error.
I should add that when I connect to the remote machine from MySql Administrator, the connection is almost instantaneous and with no problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I've been over it and over it. I've read and tried everything I could find.
No matter what I do it won't connect.
The applet is signed, I don't need to learn how to do that.
The popup comes up and asks if I want to run it: I click YES
The connection works fine for the local database but not the remote one.
Again, I can connect to the remote one with MySql Admin just fine using the same parameters.

  • Connect to a mysql database with Oracle 9i

    Hello,
how can I connect to a non_oracle-database in "Oracle 9i".
I created a ODBC data source. In Oracle8 I needed OCA. But in 9i I believe the OCA is replaced by another thing.
I wanted to connect in SQL*PLUS with:
    username/password@odbc:mysql
But I get the error: ora-03121 "no interface driver connected - function not performed".
How can I connect to another database?

I've solved the DW problem by changing the site folders from
'db' to 'wwwroot' e.g. 'C:\CFusionMX\db\' is now
    'C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\
However I'm now back to my original problem. I've lost my
mqysql connection in CF Adminstrator. Before I made these changes I
could connect to my mysql databases using the following settings:
    JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
    Driver Name: MySQL Connector J
using the following Java path and file:
    C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar
Now these settings give me the following error:
"Connection verification failed for data source: javaserver
    []java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool
while attempting to connect, please check your username, password,
    URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException
occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your
username, password, URL, and other connectivity info"
Any suggestions on this would also be welcome.
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
    Sincerely,

  • Connecting to a Mysql database using CF Administrator and DW

I can't create a mysql datasource in CF Administrator.
If I use the following datasource settings in CF
    Administrator:
    JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
    Drive Class: MySQL Connector J

My java path and connector file is:

If it were me I would use the MySQL JDBC driver and not ODBC. Then DSN versus not-DSN wouldn't be an issue.

I've solved the DW problem by changing the site folders from
'db' to 'wwwroot' e.g. 'C:\CFusionMX\db\' is now
    'C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\
However I'm now back to my original problem. I've lost my
mqysql connection in CF Adminstrator. Before I made these changes I
could connect to my mysql databases using the following settings:
    JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test
    Driver Name: MySQL Connector J
using the following Java path and file:
    C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\WEB-INF\lib\mysql-connector-java-3.0.17-ga-bin.jar
Now these settings give me the following error:
"Connection verification failed for data source: javaserver
    []java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool
while attempting to connect, please check your username, password,
    URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException
occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your
username, password, URL, and other connectivity info"
Any suggestions on this would also be welcome.
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
    Sincerely,
    Graham A. Kerby
