Need help in weblogic 10.
Hi,
I am migrating from weblogic 8.1 to weblogic 10 and I have solved most of the problems, now I am facing a problem with the deployment of ear file. We have an ear file with a web application in it. Even though other parts of the application is working, this Reactor Product is a basic J2EE ear file with a war file inside and in the war file there are jar files, in that there are properties files. So it is not loading the properties files in weblogic 10. Why cant the web application see them.
Is there a difference between the way weblogic 8.1 loads property files with weblogic 10.
Thanks,
ppunj
There are a lot of diferences. Firstly check JDK version (WL8.1 1.4 JDK version and WL10 1.6 JDK version) , secondly read diferences in bea manual. Compile whith the same JDK as the WL10.

Need help regarding Weblogic Server Hang up
We are facing a problem at the client’s place on the production environment.
The weblogic server is hanging up once every week. The application is running fine till then, but once the server is hung we need to restart the weblogic again.
Also after observing the behavior of the memory usage of the application in the weblogic admin console we came to know that the memory usage is gradually increasing day by day. We are not sure why this is happening.
We tested the application to check for any memory leaks using JProbe. We couldn’t find any memory leaks in the application. We even tested it onsite but couldn’t find any memory leaks.
I need some help on this issue as this is happening on the production environment and needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
The configuration we are having on the production environment is:
bea:8.1
JDK:1.41_021. You say its a hang, get multiple threadumps and see whats happening at the time of hang. this will give you a clue into the work thats going on and thats stuck.
2. are you seeing outofmemoryexception? If yes only then you will need to suspect the memory leak. First thing in such situation is try to increase the heap by about 1/3rd more (this is just a guestimate not a recommended practice) , that can potentially buy you time to analyze the problem.
3. you should also check if weblogic objects are leaking , check the jprobe snapshots if you have any to see if you find any weblogic object that are not getting garbage collected and growing continuously. there have been a few memory leak fixes since 8.1 release. if you find something contact support@bea and find out if any existing fix will help. -

Need help using weblogic.Deployer to refresh a webapp
I'm trying to refresh some jsp from a webapp deployed in exploded format
in WLS 8.1SP3
The original source files are not located on the machine or filesystem
running the admin server (the webapp is deployed on a cluster)
On WLS 6.1SP5, we use weblogic.refresh to upload the files to the admin
server and redeploy the refreshed files.
The documentation suggest to use weblogic.Deployer with WLS8.1 since
weblogic.refresh is deprecated.
I couldn't find the correct command line options to reproduced the
weblogic.refresh behaviour. Apparently it is not possible to upload the
files to the admin server and redeploy in a single step. weblogic.Deployer
expects the file to be already available to the admin server before
issuing the redeploy (using rsync, ftp or whatever). Is this correct ?
What did I miss ?
Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/I thought you've got error of another type - that error is fixed by simple software update.
Regarding your case - it's always frightening in first time. Believe me - there's completely nothing to be afraid of.
Resizing C drive may result killing your DATA on it only in case of energy is down during the process. Process is taking about 15-20 minutes on slow programs and about 3-4 minutes on fast programs. That means that even having problems with electricity you'll be able to finish everything correctly running on battery.
I'd recommend using Acronis Disk director Suite, but it is not free. One of the best free progs for that are bootable Linux livecds PartedMagic and GParted. They're all intuitive understandable.
You will get your NOVO recovery feature lost after C resize, but you can enable it later, replacing that factory backup in hidden partition with your own backup - your NOVO button will restore your system with all your software and settings.
it will be good for you to start with some basic principles on partitions organization schemes - why, what for and how questions are briefly explained here. After reading this you'll be able to ask right questions to get right answers.

Nagesh Prabhuyou might be able to get away with restarting your server.
I am nmot sure if this feature is available in wls 6 . There is a connection pool parameter that can check if the connection is valid before giving it out. if it is not good it will create a new connection and give it you. -

Need Help with Weblogic Portal WSRP setup on IE10 & above
Hello,
My client hosts weblogic Portal server and consumes portlets built in .Net. These work fine in all browsers except for IE10 and above.
In IE10 and above, none of the click events seem to work. This does not generate any error in the browser or in the application on my end.
I have setup Oracle Weblogic Portal 10gR3 locally on my Windows 7 box and I have added my application running on local machine as producer, so I am able to add break points and step through the code.
I confirmed that every click event triggers a response but the view in the portal does not change.
When I try to load the portlet directly in browser, every thing works fine.
Only different thing I did different to handle multiple instances of same portlets is to add namespaces to all function names
Original:
var theForm = document.forms['form1'];
if (!theForm) {
theForm = document.form1;
function __doPostBack(eventTarget, eventArgument) {
if (!theForm.onsubmit || (theForm.onsubmit() != false)) {
theForm.__EVENTTARGET.value = eventTarget;
theForm.__EVENTARGUMENT.value = eventArgument;

Need Help on Weblogic JMS Clustering
Hi All
Our code is moving to a clustered environment (2 OSB managed servers), in order to support JMS clustering i have already done the below, I just need your advice whether i have done it correctly or not. Please advise
1) Created 2 JMS Servers, targeted one JMS Server on OSB MS 1 and second JMS Server on OSB MS 2.
2) Created distributed destinations (Queues and Topics) subdeployment on both JMS Servers.
3) Targeted all connection factories to OSB Clsuter. Load Balancing and Server Affinity is enabled by default. Should server affinity be disabled for proper load balancing to occur? Please advise on this
3) JMS Proxy and business services use cluster URL's now (jms://serverA:7001,serverB:7001/CF/QueueOrTopic). I Hope its correct? Please advise
Is there any other setting that i need to do or i have missed out? Please let us know.
Also, one more thing we are calling SOA Composites via SOA-Direct protocol in OSB. The SOA Servers owned by some other team will also be load balanced. Since this is a t3 call, HTTP load balancer would not come into picture here, right? How do i load balance this outgoing call from business service (2 options bellow)
1) t3://server1:8001,server2:8001/default/ABCProduct!1.0/ABCService_DirectBinding
2) Specifying two individual endpoints and selecting load balancing algorithm as Round Robin
t3://server1:8001/default/ABCProduct!1.0/ABCService_DirectBinding
t3://server2:8001/default/ABCProduct!1.0/ABCService_DirectBinding
what is the diff between the above 2 options? Also, if one of the SOA nodes go down, than which option would automatically redirect to other node. We have to ensure this as the HTTP load balancer ensures this thing. Thanks
Edited by: Amit Sachdev on Jun 13, 2012 12:16 AMHi Amit,
The first part looks correct.
Create two jms servers (jmsosb1, jmsobs2)
Create data source and jndi location
create foreign connection factory under JmsModule, create destination and connection factory.
the cluster business service end point will be
jms:///<<ForeignConnectionFactory Name>>/<<destination local jndi name>>
The second part SOA endpoint will be in cluster environment as follows:
http://<< cluster name>>/soa-infra/services/default/<<composite name>>/<<servicename>>
example:
http://test.ch/soa-infra/services/default/cm.conn.bp.test/test_client_ep
or if you want to invoke two nodes directly you use below url as well.
http://<<SOAservername1>>:<<port>>,<<SOAservername2>>:<<port>>//soa-infra/services/default/<<composite name>>/<<servicename>>

Need help with getResource() problem under weblogic 6.1
Hey all,
I've got a serious problem that I can't figure out. This should be really
simple - but it's alluding me. I have an ear file with a number of servlets
inside it. This ear file also contains a resource that my servlets want to
read from. This resource is located (within the ear file) at:
"/content/structure/a.txt". The file contains raw ascii.
To have my serlvet read from this file, I thought it would be as simple as:
URL content =
servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/a.txt");
// pw is an instance of PrintWriter
pw.print(content.getContent());
However, when I execute the above I get the following exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException
at
java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)
at java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)
at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:581)
OK, so fine - I figure that I'm new to this. The documentation for the URL
class tells me there is another way around this. It says that rather then
calling getContent() directly, I can open a stream on the URL and read from
that, like so:
URL content =
servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
es.txt");
FileInputStream fis = content.openStream();
but when I do this I get the following different exception:
java.lang.ClassCastException: weblogic.utils.zip.SafeZipFileInputStream^M
at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
Apparently this thing is trying to return a web-logic-specific stream (which
is incompatible with an FileInputStream) - which I don't want to use or
learn about since I want my stuff to work under other webservers.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? This should be simple.

Wenjin,
I appreciate your response. I tried treating it as a normal InputStream -
but it didn't make any difference. Here's what I did:
URL content =
servlet.getServletContext().getResource("/content/structure/scenario2resourc
es.txt");
InputStream is = (InputStream)content.getContent();
And here's the exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException^M
at
java.net.URLConnection.stripOffParameters(URLConnection.java:1011)^M
at
java.net.URLConnection.getContentHandler(URLConnection.java:979)^M
at java.net.URLConnection.getContent(URLConnection.java:554)^M
at java.net.URL.getContent(URL.java:807)^M
at Utility.writeFileToOutput(Utility.java:134)^M
You can see that it is definitely breaking somewhere in getContent().
If you have any other ideas, I'd appreciate hearing about them.

XI Realtime scenarios-need help
Hello experts,
I am new to XI and I need help with real time XI scenarios.
can you please give me 2-3 examples of What kinds of systems involve in data transfer (both sap and non sap) for transfer of what kinds of data (general IDOCs, RFCs and other kinds of data)
and what is the purpose of that scenario? also how many times the data will be transferred between the systems?
Thanks in advance,
Haritha.
useful answers will be rewarded ***Hi Haritha,
Hi,
Please go through the following are the links.

Need WLST for Weblogic portal domain 9.2.2.
Hi,
I am very much in-need of it. Can you please provide me the Need WLST for Weblogic portal domain 9.2.2.
Actually, we are using weblogic 9.2.2 version.
Actually, I created a portal domain configiuration using configuration wizard and the same I documented with screen shots.
Now I need the wlst for the same configuration which i created the doc for.
Please can you help me out doing this.
If you are ok, then I will share you my doc, so that you can help me out easily.
Please please please................
Thanks in Advance..You have a few options to build a WLST script from the admin/config operations that you have performed in your development environment using console.
OPTION 1: (WLST Recording)
Check the below video. (The only drawback is that this video talks about the WLST recording feature which is available only on WLS10.0. Ofcourse, if you have a 10.0 installation you can still use this feature and then make some small modifications to the generated script to make it suitable for 9.2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luhBaviP2uM
OPTION 2: (Converting the configuration to a script)
After you have configured your entire domain using the console, you run the configToScript command as per the below documentation (To run this you need to invoke WLST and then run the command with appropriate arguments such as path to the config.xml file etc)
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs92/config_scripting/reference.html#wp1154848
Then you can use the generated script to create similar domains in your Test AND Production environments.

Help Connecting Weblogic to Oracle.
Hello,
We are encountering some error to connect weblogic at start up to
oracle 8i on a Solaris box. I have attached an error log file for the
same. The Error is something to do with ORA-24327.
The Fact is I am able to connect to oracle from NT Weblogic server,
NT SQL, SVRMGRL . But when I try to connect to oracle from Solaris
WebLogic I get this Error.
Thanks in advance for the help.
[weblogic.log]According to our jdbc engineer:
ORA-24327 ("need explicit attach before authenticating a user")
First, this is not one of our error codes. Its one of OCI's many ways of telling you it
could not connect for some unknown reason. Unfortunately, this generally doesn't help
solve the problem. Currently, I'm aware of
two things that might cause this problem:
1. Oracle client DLL/SO is not compatable with Oracle server or Oracle client
installation. The former is a limitation of oracle that we can't do anything about.
The latter often implies an installation problem or conflict with some other installed
software. For example, some Oracle applications will install the OCI DLL in your path
(most
often in the windows system directory), thinking that its being helpful.
Unfortunately, if your ORACLE_HOME is pointing to a different version of oracle, this
will screw you. So if you get this error, one thing to check whether you have an old
version of OCI (OCI.DLL and/or OCIW32.dll) somewhere in your path.
2. More recently, I've learned that this error can also occur if your tnsnames.ora
does not have a reference to the service you are trying to access.
Hope this helps
