Need MDF 1.3

My CW installation is running Common Services 3.3.0 with MDF 1.25. Going via the GUI in CW to update Common Services (either Software Update or Device Update) from cisco.com returns the message that I am running the latest version.
Yet when I download the multiple available device packages for CiscoView and RME, installation fails due a dependency of requiring MDF of variously 1.27 or 1.3. I tried going directly to cisco.com download page for Common Services but the main one only has the Common Services patch, not the device update link which would lead me to the MDF update.
Can someone point me to the link to get MDF 1.3? If I get that I can download locally and update from there.

Grr, I even forced CW to install Mdf.CS30.v1-36 by uninstalling MDF 2.5 and then doing an install.
Even after that, the subsequent attempt to download RME and CV packages fails due to a reports MDF version of 2.5. As you can see, CW is schizophrenic as to which MDF it believes is installed:
Screen #1 - click on Common Services from "Software center, Device update". Note MDF 1.25 is reported:
Screen #2 - choose Common Services and select "Delete Packages". Note MDF 1.36 is reported:

  • Need help changing from SQL dbo to mdf file

My project was started using dbo is there a way to change this to an mdf without changing out the database.

I think you answered my question the datasets in my project are connected to sqlexpress instance, Iwant to remove this connection and add a connection to an MDF file in my project. Maybe this will help explain my question better.
You cannot directly add connection to mdf file. But you can achieve this by first attching this MDF file to SQL express( this has some limitations like max of  4 Gfile can be attached to Sql server 2008 and 10 G for 2012).Is this you want to achieve ?

You are trying to attach SQL Server 2012  database files to SQL Server 2008 R2 which is not allowed, you either need to upgrade your SQL Server 2008 to 2012 or alternatively you can generate all scripts from SQL Server 2012 and execute it in SQL Server
    2008 R2.
You can refer below link to how to generate script.

  • Labview 2009 SP1 Installer build help needed

    Hello,
First time posting here.  I have a rather large project that I recently converted from Labview 7.0 to 9.0.  I am able to build an executable and it starts up Ok but I don't know for sure if it works.  Since I couldn't build an installer, I copied the folder containing the .exe onto the targeted machine and installed Labview Run-time Engine 2009 SP1.  The executable then complains that it needs the full development version to work.  I am not too worry about this part at the moment, but if you have any pointers, please go ahead and post them.
Ok, I have gone through a lot of posts on building and installer but it seems the one post that has something similar to what I experienced didn't get an answer.  Here's the Build Errors from the pop-up dialog:

I realize that I should post my project file but I can't do that until tomorrow.  From those 2 errors, can you tell me what the installer builder is looking for?  I have gone through all my dependencies and they look Ok at the moment.
    Thanks for you time.

    Hi Celeb,
I had to help out on another project and finally only getting back to looking at this issue yesterday.  As you suggested, I went ahead and created a new project and created new build specifications (exe and installer).  I was able to properly build both items but won't be able to check out the executable til later this week.
I noticed one thing about the project that Labview produced after converting the old *.bld file to a project file.  With the converted project, Labview adds unexpected installer destination folders into WindowsFolder in the Installer/Source Files/Destination View.  I thought I deleted them before but they seem to make it back (kinda hazy about this at this point).  My actual installer folder should only go into the WindowsVolume folder.  Anyway, on the new build spec, since I don't manually add the installer folder into the WindowsFolder, nothing get populated there and the installer is able to build properly.  This might have been the cause of my inability to build an installer with the converted project/build specs.
I hope NI could add in more details into the build error messages.  As it is, it's really difficult to know why a build failed because there's no details in those messages.
    Thanks again,
    T.

  • Existing Replica MDF file size is increased in size than the New replica install

Please I need help here.I really really appreciate your help.
    Here are my scenarios:
We have an application with replicated environment setup on sql server 2012 . Users will have a replica on their machines and they will replicate to the master database. It has 3 subscriptions subscribed to
the publications on the master db.
    1) We set up a replica(which uses sql server 2012) on a machine with no sql server on it. After the initial synchronization(used replmerge tool) the mdf file has grown to 33gigs and ldf has grown to 41 gigs.
I went to sql server management studion . Right click and checked the properties of the local database. over all size is around 84 gb with little empty free space available.
    2) We set up a replica(which uses sql server 2012) on a machine with sql server 2008 on it. After the initial synchronization(used replmerge tool) the mdf file has grown to 49 gigs and ldf has grown to 41 gigs.
I went to sql server management studio , Right click and checked the properties of the local database. over all size is around 90 gb with 16 gb free space available.
    3) We set up a replica(which uses sql server 2012) on a machine with sql server 2012 on it. We have dropped the local database and recreated the local db and did the initial synchronization using replmerge tool.
The mdf file has grown to 49 gigs and ldf has grown to 41 gigs. I went to sql server management studio , Right click and checked the properties of the local database. over all size is around 90 gb with 16 gb free space available.
Why it is allocating the space differently? This is effecting our initiall replica set up times. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Asha.

  • How to recover from mdf file (SQL Server 2000)

    Hi,
My database corrupted because when I was running an update query, there is a power failure. After the computer booted, I cannot open the database anymore, it just not responding. Then I stop the sql server service, and tried to rename the .mdf and .ldf. After that it worked normally, but I need the data from the corrupted mdf file, I tried to attach the database but it just hanged. I even tried to attach without the .ldf file but it didn't work either, so I concluded that the problem is with the mdf file.
Is there any way to recover my data ??
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Edwin

Try this undocumented stuff provided by Kevin [MS].
    ==========
    1. Back up the .mdf/.ndf files at first!!!
    2. Change the database context to Master and allow updates to system tables:
    Use Master
    Go
    sp_configure 'allow updates', 1
    reconfigure with override
    Go
    3. Set the database in Emergency (bypass recovery) mode:
select * from sysdatabases where name = '<db_name>'
-- note the value of the status column for later use in # 6
    begin tran
update sysdatabases set status = 32768 where name = '<db_name>'
-- Verify one row is updated before committing
    commit tran
    4. Stop and restart SQL server.
    5. Call DBCC REBUILD_LOG command to rebuild a "blank" log file based on the
    suspected db.
The syntax for DBCC REBUILD_LOG is as follows:
    DBCC rebuild_log('<db_name>','<log_filename>')
where <db_name> is the name of the database and <log_filename> is
the physical path to the new log file, not a logical file name. If you
    do not
specify the full path, the new log is created in the Windows NT system
    root
directory (by default, this is the Winnt\System32 directory).
    6. Set the database in single-user mode and run DBCC CHECKDB to validate
    physical consistency:
    sp_dboption '<db_name>', 'single user', 'true'
    DBCC checkdb('<db_name>')
    Go
    begin tran
    update sysdatabases set status = <prior value> where name = '<db_name>'
-- verify one row is updated before committing
    commit tran
    Go
    7. Turn off the updates to system tables by using:
    sp_configure 'allow updates', 0
    reconfigure with override
    Go

Lovers of sql 2005 (all 2 of you) -- rejoice -- a question for you
We have an old sql 2005 box that I am rebuilding with a newer OS (please, don't ask why!) but using the original master, msdb, etc.   The main problem I'm having is during the sql 2005 install I need to install the log files on drive D and the mdf's
on E but the setup program does not seems to allow for this. (I can setup "Databases Services" on drive D but then the log files are on D too. Not what I wanted.)

  • Creating a new database using an MDF file

My database saves as MDF. I want to know what are the steps to restore or create a new database using a MDF file? I tried to restore as usual but it shows an error. Please help.

An MDF file isn’t a backup file isn’t the main data file (or master data file depending on who you ask) hence the file extension MDF. You can attach the MDF to the database by right clicking on the databases folder in Enterprise Manager (SQL 2000) or Management
Studio (SQL 2005) then selecting all tasks and then Attach Database. When you do this you will get an error about the log file missing. This shouldn’t matter as SQL Server will simply create a new log file for you. This will only work if the SQL Server was
stopped when you copied the MDF file from the old SQL Server. If you copied the file while the SQL Server was running this file probably will not attach either and you will need to get a valid backup of the database.

  • Restore one full backup(need to move), 1 differential backup,2 transaction log backup

Is following script correct? I don't need to add "move" when do restore differential, log later. Correct?
RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.BAK'
    WITH
    MOVE
    'Adventureworks_DB'
    TO
    'C:\test\Adventureworks.mdf',
    MOVE
    'AdventureWorks_Log'
    TO
    'C:\Adventureworks_Log.ldf',

    GO
RESTORE LOG AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.TRN'
    WITH NORECOVERY
    GO
RESTORE LOG AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks2.TRN'
    WITH RECOVERY
    GO

Yes, that would be fine. It will work without move filename as well. You can add replace parameter incase.
Also, make sure to check the mentioned path they must exist and SQL is able to access
Before running the restore run below to check the backup file path:
Corrected the script with needed only once in full backup restore
    Restore filelistonly from disk= 'C:\AdventureWorks.BAK'
RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.BAK'
    WITH MOVE'Adventureworks_DB'TO'C:\test\Adventureworks.mdf',
    MOVE'AdventureWorks_Log'TO'C:\Adventureworks_Log.ldf',
    NORECOVERY, replace
    GO
RESTORE DATABASE AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.DIF'
    WITH NORECOVERY, replace
    GO
RESTORE LOG AdventureWorks FROM DISK = 'C:\AdventureWorks.TRN'

  • Allerts 0 % free space in file (.mdf file)

    Hi!
We use SAP with SAP SQL Server
From tcode DB02_MSS we get several red alerts "no free space in file", meanwhile all the .mdf files have "Size limit (MB)" set on no limit.
    Question:
Do we need to set for all the .mdf files the option "autogrow is on ..."?
If yes where can we find the appropriate documentation?
Any helpful information will be very appreciated!

  • Conversion form .mdf to .DBF , Plz see this...

    Hi all,
    Thanks for reading this:
My Java application needs to read a .mdf database format (SQLServer) and export data (after some processing) in a .DBF format (for use with ArcView GIS).I can read from my SQLServer, but don't know how to generate a .DBF format. Are there any mechanisms in Java to do this?
    Any comments, i greatly welcome.

I assume that you are using Windows (as you are talking about SQL Server)
What you could do, is to create an ODBC datasource with the DBF driver.
Then create the target tables while connected to your ODBC connection (through the JDBC/ODBC bridge). This will create the .dbf files (one for each table). This can be done by sending the CREATE TABLE commands through JDBC. You will probably need to test which datatypes DBF supports (apart from CHAR(n))
Then you can connect to SQL Server and read the data from there and INSERT the data into your DBF tables.
If you it's a one to one table copy, you could save your data as SQL INSERT with an appropriate tool and then execute those inserts while connected to you DBF datasource.

  • About the MDF and log_LDF file in the SQL server

    Hai Experts ,
I need known the , What is MDF and log_ldf file .
In our BPC server there are MDF and Log_LDF file in the MSSQLSERVER folder under the E drive.
The both file have huge database size .
Can u explain what is MDF and Log_LDF file , why its created ....
    Regards
    Daya......................

    Hi Daya
Those files are the actual SQL database files, in SQL Server management console, you have a logical view of the database with all of the objects within the database. The *.MDF and *.LDF files are the actual physical files which makes up the database in SQL Server. (Where the actual data is stored...)
The MDF file is the actual data file
The LDF file is the transaction log file, SQL Server uses this file in order maintain ACID compliance. It uses transactions to ensure that the database will always revert to a known consistent state on failure.
    More Info:
You don't provide much information regarding the environment, i.e (DEV, QA, PROD, etc), but your *.LDF file should not be bigger that your *.MDF file, and if it is quite large, then you will need your DBA to shrink your Transaction Log file.
    Hope this helps

  • Is there a utility to go from MDF to IFD?

We have lost the original .ifd file, and I need to make a minor change to a form using JetForm 5.3.
    I found this post:
Tom Warfield, "MDF to IFD" #1, 12 Oct 2004 5:46 am
but I'm unable to "use the MDF to create a PDF file via the preview agent on Central" -- as indicated.
I thought I also read that Adobe has a utility for this. Is this correct, and if so, where can I find it?
    Thanks
    Tim

I did not explain it in that old post but you can not create a PDF unless the PDF printer (presentation target) is included when the form was compiled. That is likely to be the reason you can't create one. If it was included then it is simply a matter of running the supplied JFPVMRG task to create the PDF. Check the task to see where it places the output file (-z parameter).
I never got a responce when I asked about the Adobe utility on this forum. My reseller indicated Adobe keeps very tight reigns on it.
You are probably out of luck. Particularly since you are using version 5.3 - That is way back in the "JetForm" days before they renamed themselves Accelio which was before Adobe bought them out. Adobe is up to version 5.6 now. Three minor releases may not seem like much but 5.3 was the last version that included "filler" elements. I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if anything that Adobe is likely to support now would not include the filler capabilities since that was long before Adobe.

  • Do I need a .tdf if I have an iSeries .prtf defined?

    Hello
I have created an overlay (.mdf) that simply has boxes and lines on it, no fields specified.   I have an iSeries print file that has been used to merge data onto this form in an old version of JetForms Server.   In JetForms, the JFMERGE slaps the .mdf  overlay onto the iSeries print file so everything prints where it should on the overlay form.   Everything is defined in that iSeries print file.
Can I do the same in Adobe Central Server (5.5) or do I also need the  .tdf  to go along with the  .mdf  since there are no fields on it anyway?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
