  • Quick Office for Word docs with tracking

Can I use Quick Office for iPad to view Word docs and see the tracking changes? I don't think so, but thought I'd ask. I did a search and didn't see this posted but I could have missed it. If I did, apologies for the redundancy.

From what I've read on here, none of the Office apps are able to track changes.

Thanks, but the website says I need a 32 bit processor so presumably a 64 bit processor is no good? Or can a 64 bit automatically do everything a 32 bit one can do?
Where is the link that says you need a 32 bit processor?  On my MBA, in the past I've ran both Office for Mac and Windows 7 (MS Office) via Parallels (Bootcamp does the same thing).  I chose installing Windows 7 in the 32 bit mode ONLY because I have a couple of other legacy Windows programs that only run in 32 bit mode.

  • What do you think about Quick Office for the IPad

What do you think about Quick Office for the IPad

You could also have a look at the following www.rollapp.com, I have only recently found it.
You have access to the full OpenOffice and LibreOffice library of program's  and it syncs with Dropbox, google docs and others.
You do require an Internet connection as it is cloud based.
At present I have only used it for quick editing but I think it definitely looks promising and it is free

  • Is there anything I would need Microsoft Office for if I have iWork?

I am looking at different configurations for a new Apple Laptop for University. My school uses Microsoft Office but I was reading that iWork is compatible with Office. I have Office 2004 on my old computer and could just transfer it over if I need some version of Office to have iWork be fully compatible with all Office documents and presentations. Do I need to have some version of Office for iWork to be fully compatible with my school documents? Are there any reasons to purchase the newest version of Microsoft Office?

I respect you. But for college uses and corporate uses I would never recommend using iWork over Office. Office is the defacto suite of applications for those working environments for too many reasons. I spent one career in academia and another in business. I'm comfortable with that claim.
iWork is a decent suite for the home user or primary/secondary school user and anyone not required to do anything iWork is simply not able to do or cannot do properly. But it's no match for Office. Not by a long shot.

  • Not a programming type; need quick help for current project

I am helping a non-profit which is involved in a significant legal battle work with many thousands of e-mail messages for electronic discovery. While reasonably technically competent,I am not a programmer and don't have time to learn scripting, if that is the way to solve my problem.
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 (full version) to manipulate the e-mails necessary for the discovery into manageable folders. I have Acrobat Professional 8, and am turning the e-mails into packages using the Acrobat properties/options that embed in Outlook 2003 when both pieces of software are installed. The resulting packages have about 1500 .pdf files that must be reviewed by the attorney to determine if any of the documents are privileged.
My plan was that the attorney would review each package using Reader 8 and put an electronic yellow sticky on each document that was privileged so that we could go ahead and do the Bates numbering, but then be able to search on the sticky to pull out the documents into another package that would not be part of the discovery.
Now, the flaw in my plan - each individual file created through my process must be opened in Acrobat and permission to use the commenting function in Reader set for each individual document.
Because all the individual documents in the package will be open at the same time, could one of you marvelous linear thinkers out there give me a fix for this? There has to be an easier way than to open each of thousands of folders!!!!
    TIA,
    Mary

Unfortunately there is no programmatic way to "Reader Enable" (which adds the commenting ability in Reader you speak of) with Acrobat. Adobe creates a separate server-based product to allow you to do this, called LiveCycle Reader Extensiion Server.

  • Need quick help for printer that vanished

My printer was giving me trouble (it wasn't printing when I asked it to); while monkeying around in the printer setup utility, I somehow managed to delete the printer (an Epson Stylus Color 740) from my system--so now my computer thinks I do not have a printer hooked up! How do I get that beautiful printer of mine back in the loop? Thanks!

There should be an "Add Printer" button on the Printer Setup utility, click it and follow the prompts. There is also a menu item under "Printers" that brings up the same dialog

  • How to help my friend install Microsoft Office for Mac 2008

Hello, I have a friend in North Carolina whose mom recently got a MacBook Pro running OS X Mountian Lion (10.8), he will be coming on to join this discussion after I post it. He needs Microsoft Office for his mom and I just happened to have purchase 3 licenses (two of which I have already utilized). While talking to him over a Facetime call, I walked him through the steps of getting the free office for mac 2008 package from download.com (which seemed kind of sketchy). While the download actually looked legitimate, we ran the installer and it gave some kind of weird error message that said something like "Could not be installed onto Macintosh HD because the Mac OS X is not on that parition" (I'm paraphrasing my friend will contribute the actual message). Could someone please walk us through an easier (and preferably more secure) process? We just need to get to the point where I can give him my last license key. Thanks!
    YraYra

You will have to check with Microsoft but I think what you are doing is illegal. The 3 license pack I think means 1 user 3 computers, not 2 users 3 computers.
You might have better luck posting on the Office for Mac forum. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac?auth=1

  • Quick Office in C6-00

    Hi
Could you please tell us why Quick Office software which is pre installed in Nokia C6-00 is only trail version.. but you guys were already given full version for Eseries and Nseries mobile and even it was installed full version of quick office for less cost mobile than C6. Could you do anything for this.

Had the same issue, and at present the Quickoffice can be only used as a viewer as it is installed in the firmware that way.  I ended up buying the Mobile Office from the OVI Store, which includes editing and file creation in Word and Excel.  It only lets you view Power Point like Quick office though.  I would recommend you view Power Point with QuickOffice though as it shows everything as was intended, and Mobile office just gives a basic white on black background to the slides.
    Hope this helps.

  • Office for mac compatible with OS X Yosemite?

Just wondered if I will have issues  with Office for Mac after loading Yosemite?  I need the Office for Mac programs to run my business and can't afford losing the data.  Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

If you believe that then I have this bridge for sale you might like to buy.
Perhaps you should read a bit more closely. I'm quite aware the current version of Office is missing much of what the Windows version can do. I clearly stated the Mac version is far behind.
The current version is Office 2011 for Mac. As you can see (it was actually released late 2010), it hasn't been updated a bit over four years. It is mostly compatible with any documents created in the Windows versions of Office, but newer features of Office 2013 for Windows may not open as expected under the last boxed Mac version.
The older email Mac client version of Entourage, and the current email client Outlook, have always been behind (often, far behind) the capabilities of the Windows versions.
The upcoming simultaneous Windows and Mac versions of Office 2015 are supposed to be feature equivalent. When MS closed the Mac Division, it didn't just go away, it was merged with the Windows division so they are developed together instead of separately.

  • Quick Office Issue

Can I add my work email address to the list of servers in Quick Office Pro HD. I can't seem to find any info regarding this question. Please help if anyone has knowledge of this. Thanks!

    Hi tacie,
This is a forum for discussion of issues and techniques with Apple's now discontinued productivity application, AppleWorks, an application written for Mac OS 9 then ported to OS X, and with a version for Windows. It's unlikely you'll find an expert on Microsoft Quick Office for iPad here. The best place to look would be Microsoft's site. Failiing that, you might try one of the iPad or iOS communities here.

  • What version of office for mac is mininally needed to be installed on 10.9? I just tried my own 2004, which as too old, am hoping 2008 or 2011 since I don't want to buy a new one...

    Hi,
I work on a second hand macbook pro running on 10.9 and now want office for mac on it, additionally to the sofware I already have.
On my old macbook I had office 2004 and since I still have two product codes unused was hoping these can still be used, but I tried to install it and it's just not supported anymore.
Since I don't have a lot of budget right now I hope 2008 may be possible to be installed since I can get one for only a little money (want no illegal copies), but it's a shame to get it if it turns out not to work.......I read somewhere 2008 is not supported anymore but I don't know if that necessarily means it cannot be installed.....
or do I need 2011 at least?
Or would 10.9 actually only allow the latest 2013 version to be installed?
I'd like to know before buying anything......
Right now it actually has an office 2011 version installed by the previous user but unfortunately that one was not activated and I have no way to retrieve the product code.
as i said, i like it to be legal, that's why I prefer buying the original software and the older versions can be found cheaper......
I hope someone can give me some advice!
    thanks,

Office 2011 is the current boxed version for the Mac. The two versions are Home and Business. The difference (besides price) is that the Business version includes Outlook. Both contain Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Actually, the Home version also has Outlook hidden on the disk. If you decided later you want to use Outlook, you can call Microsoft for an unlock code to install it from the Home version disk. The unlock cost is essentially the difference between the Home and Business versions.
You mentioned Office 2013, but that's the current Windows version. MS hasn't really stated one way or another if there will be a feature comparable boxed Mac version. If there is, it looks like we won't see it until sometime in 2014. To get the current functionality of Office 2013 in a Mac product, you'd have to purchase the subscription based Office 365.
It does depend on your needs. Often, Office must be used for true compatibility with people you work, or collaborate with. It also has many features the free alternatives don't offer, and can't import or replicate. Otherwise, as Gary noted, Open Office is a good free choice.

  • I just purchased a MacBookPro after having a MacBook.  I have ILife, IWorks and Office for Mac.  How do I get those programs on to my MacBook Pro?  I will still use my MacBook at work so I need those programs to remain on it as well.

You need a Firewire cable to run between the two Macs.  Using Utility>Migration Assistant running on your new MacBook Pro, transfer what you want (with all the preferences and such) from your MacBook to your MBP.  Here's more info from Apple.
You might have an issue with the Serial number for Office, but hopefully you have that around.
    Hope this helps.

  • I need quick time 7.5.5 for itunes. How to repair problem of installation?

I have mac leopard 10.5.5 powerpc and I have itunes 10.6.3.
Itunes need Quick Time 7.5.5 or more.
I tried to install quick time but there is a problem of instalation.
How to repair problem of installation of Quick Time?

    Some specific downloads of QuickTime:
    7.5.5 for Tiger
    7.6 for Tiger
    7.6.4 for Leopard
    7.7 for Leopard
Since you have Mac OS X 10.5, Leopard, it would probably be better to use one of those Leopard-specific downloads.
